TERROR IN THE NORTH!  Background The assassination for the previous Hokage, Hayashi Ayame, has cause a stir among the masses. The past year had seen the village go through rapid changes in leadership with the death of Hotaru Kouki and now Hayashi Ayame. Promises made by the previous shadow are now being put into question and the credibility of the shinobi system in Konohagakure is in doubt as 24 year old Kawai Niko takes the stage. In response to the instability that plagues the country, Niko is trying her best to placate the shinobi and citizen populace alike. While heavy suspicion has been placed on Kusagakure whose Lady had visited on the day of the assasination, and Iwagakure; the village's long time rivals. To get to the bottom of the atrocity, the shinobi council of the village has decided to tread lightly in going about to avenge Ayame and make sure no diplomatic mistakes are made as a result of heated emotions, while Niko tries to reassure people at home. However, things have quickly deteriorated. Somewhere deep within the earth, north of Konohagakure, ominous tremors shake a small community to its core. These tremors are small, not causing any more damage than small things falling from shelves. However, there are hundreds of these tremors every day, and the natives are getting restless that something may be going terribly wrong. A few days after the tremors began, an entire flock of sheep vanished in less than an hour. The fence wasn't damaged, there was no blood to be found, and there weren't any crop circles nearby, so all of the usual suspects fail to explain it. Along with the flock of sheep, the radio belonging to the farmer vanished while he ran around the empty pen in utter disbelief of what was going on. The next day, another farmer and his wife stood petrified as they watched spouts of dust burst from their field like geysers while their precious beef herd disappeared one by one. Enraged by the loss of his livelihood, the farmer charged out into the field to confront the cows and presumably give them a stern talking-to about disappearing without permission. His wife could only watch with tears in her eyes as he tripped over a cow patty and vanished as if he had never been there. Not long after that, little Ai and her brother Sasuke were playing over by the community well when their laughter was suddenly cut off. Their mother waited for hours for them to come home before finally deciding to go investigate. What she found she could not describe. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Footprints around and leading to the well, to be expected, but none leading away and no children who could have made the prints. A huge search party, maybe about five people, was mobilized to search the only logical place for them to be. The smallest one, a young boy named Eito, was lowered into the well to save the siblings by a burly man named Cockeyed Dave [Lol, 'Dave'] while everyone else stood around for moral support. Suddenly the rope went taut and Cockeye pulled on it with all his might, expecting there to be two extra children on the end of it. He pulled and he pulled, but eventually there was a snap and nothing but rope came up. Despite three young children being at the bottom of the well, no screaming could be heard. They, like the cows and sheep, had simply vanished. Terrified by the tremors and disappearances, the townspeople all got together and created a fund large enough to afford help. They sent word to the nearest hidden village of their situation and how desperately they needed help. Will Konoha be able to answer their call before the entire town is swallowed up? Sign-Ups! For this plot, there will only be six spots available. For the sake of speed and order, I would like to keep it concise and small. If you aren't among the first to make it, do not fret because there will be future plots. Konoha members should simply post in here if they're interested. KEEP IN MIND THAT WHEN THE PLOT IS UP, THERE WILL BE A POSTING STOPWATCH OF 48 HOURS. IF ONE DOES NOT POST WITHIN THAT TIME, THEY'LL BE SKIPPED FOR THAT ROUND.
