Ryū stood upright, his aura seeping out into the environment, with his mind attuned with the flowing natural energies of the world. His eyes were softly closed, as if he was sleeping, and his expression was placid. It was as if he had become absolutely one with nature. If one lacked awareness, they even completely dismiss Ryū as the wind.

In front of him was his apprentice: [Yutakako, Keiko]. They're object today is to ready her for the [Shōryō Tai: Kage [Desolate Body: Shadow]. Albeit, [Shunshin no Jutsu] is not a specific requirement for the technique, the general basis of it was similar. Attributed to that is simply the techniques sheer usefulness in the field. Therefore, Ryū will be her personal instructor.

"Hm." Was the only voice that was emitted from his voice. As if the action itself asked if she was ready or not.

King and Queen to be. Stood face to face in a training field once again. Every time, Keiko was energized and ready to learn whatever was next. Whether it held injury or pain, the child didn’t much care. No one liked to be hurt, but she needed to learn to rise above it. Avoid it, block it, attack through it. She couldn’t let fear stop her from anything. If she was Ryu’s apprentice, and she was, she was going to continue on with every task and challenge until the very end.

Like every time she was within the vicinity of her mentor, his chakra was heavy. Weighed upon her heart. Yet... the feeling of being in this open air helped soothe her. Ryu tended to be merciful enough to not put his full power of his chakra down upon her. Not strike fear into the heart and soul of the girl. Usually. Sometimes. As of yet she was still standing. A large grin upon her face and her arms happily at her sides, swinging lightly. They had learned a lot together, or she had. She looked up to the man as a father, whether or not he knew it. Kimiko was the mother figure obviously!

His single utterance would be heard and the girl would give a soft chuckle. Coming up onto her toes, she’d slap her hands against her thighs. The ever joyful noise of the girl could be heard.

"I just gotta go fast, right?”

Seeing the girl's attitude, Ryū couldn't help be surprised by her unyielding will. His training methods were...lightly put - harsher than hell. Yet, every time he'd train her, she'd put on an expression of elation and fighting spirit. However, sometimes her thinking was relatively simple. This had its good and terrible. Usually, it allows one to be put in an open-minded mindset beneficial in training in the [Sage Arts], but sometimes? Sometimes, it can be detrimental in overly complex constructs. When he was her age, he had a similar mind-set. He thought simple. It was why those things happened to his family, and why he obtained every woman he desired. He thought very simple.

He could see his younger self in her.

Something he didn't see in any of his 'true' children.

"Yes." He answered. As mentioned before, he wasn't one for words and usually he wouldn't go off too long of explanation as he did during her initiation into [Sage Mode].

"Evoke Sage Mode." After he said that, he waited.

"Sense the movement of my chakra." Then, his figure shifted like a shadow from being at its current distance of Keiko to a meter backwards.

"Focus." He did it again, this time, he moved a meter forward - back to his original position.

"Replicate." With that, he slammed his palms against each other and his own Sage Mode was evoked.

Yes.

A simple answer was one she liked. Grinning, Keiko waited for further instruction. Which she got. Like she had forgotten something at home, there was a brief moment where the girl looked temporarily floored. Then chuckling, the hands she had smacked at her sides would come forth and clap in front of her body. Invoking Sage Mode was a joy, even if imperfect. Keiko loved it. Loved the feeling of her, the earth around her, the sounds she heard and the songs the earth sang. The energy that she stored within her body would be released, the perfect mixture of her and nature bursting through her veins and resettling a new and lizard like appearance over her body.

The brief wave of power losing its immediacy, she’d turn her attention immediately upon her teacher. He had more to offer her and she’d have to pay attention. This mode did not last her long without charging. Sense the movement of his chakra. That was the instruction. Taking a deep breath, the girl would try to do as he said. Picturing and feeling the chakra around and near her. Ryu in front of her. He had this vast depth to him that couldn’t be missed. Now to specifically note how it moved... In an instant, he was farther back. He had activated a small amount of his bank and used it to move himself near instantly. The lizard-figure would still be grinning a sharper and toothier smile.

Replicate.

That’s always how it went, but it didn’t mean it would go specifically well for her. He energized his body with chakra and moved instantly. She could move her chakra through her body as well... but succeed in the technique? Definitely! Maybe. Laughing at her own self, she wasn’t even sure she knew. Katon was easier. It came to her more easily and she felt at home. This was certainly not fire.

Closing her eyes and refusing to stumble back as her mentor invoked his Perfect Sage Mode, she’d wait and concentrate. The energy and chakra within her moving, stimulating, invigorating. Yet... it was a slow build. Like she wasn’t exactly sure where and how to place it. In truth, she was trying to even it out and bring it all completely around herself. The girl didn’t move, not yet. She was still... focusing.

He silently watched, as usual. With his [Sage Mode] evoked, he could sense the chakra of her body act in a particular way. It wasn't as in-depth as the Legendary Byakugan, but it was sufficient to see the general changes. Shunshin no Jutsu was a [General Skill] of shinobi-kind, and its application was both simple yet complex. To vitalize the body with chakra and to appropriately utilize that no energy to move faster wasn't a simple "hear & do." It wouldn't be that easy, but he had belief that Keiko would be able to do it. It took him a total of 21 [Hours] to utilize the technique before. This spoke volumes of his talents as he was capable of climbing to the heights of one of the strongest shinobi in existence.

However, what of Keiko's?

He believed she held definitively higher talents than him in [Senjutsu], somewhat equal talents in comparison to his base ability in [Katon], but in [Non-Elemental Ninjutsu]? Due to their focus on the other two categories, the last one was still up in the air. Now he'll be able to gauge this properly, and see where exactly her talents lay. However, his methods of learning was different. He received a bare minimum instruction, and told "Do this." His teacher was far more harsher than him, and he couldn't sense the chakra of others. He wasn't even given an example, and only the general idea. Luckily, he knew of it somewhat beforehand. This aided him.

Right now? Keiko got far more support than him. He'll just have to wait and see.

Have the chakra run throughout her whole body. Energize it. She could hear the hum that her Master had given off, had felt and known the pathways it had taken. He had given energy to his whole body, chakra spurring on each and every cell of his body to move it in a near instant. Keiko had to do the same! She wanted to focus and concentrate. Try to the best of her abilities. He was giving her time, so why not take advantage?

She felt near ready. Her muscles and skin near burning with the girl’s well of fiery chakra. Those scales heating up like an iron beneath them. In a flicker of motion, she would succeed! Well.. sorta... Keiko’s body did indeed move. And there was the addition speed of chakra. But she barely moved. Her stance was obviously back as Ryu had been, but not as far. Mere inches. And her control had not assisted. While she had chakra focused in every part of her body, the girl didn’t stop. Her eyes flying open and reddened orbs focusing upon her teacher for a brief moment before seeing tree and sky. The sudden momentum, no matter the lack of distance, had her sprawling backwards. Hands flailed out and the girl tumbled. Her feet tried to keep up but to no avail. She ended up on her ass. Bump bump. She’d only stop when her butt hit the ground and her upper body wasn’t too far behind, her elbows catching her fall. There would be little pain, her scaled skin assisting with the little brush burns into no significance at all

"Something like that.”

The girl spoke, popping up from her spot on the ground like nothing had happened. Dusting off her legs and butt, she’d return to where she had been standing. Taking a deep breath, she’d resettle her eyes upon her sensei, but also begin focusing her chakra once again. She needed to try again. Do better. Actually succeed.

His eyes grew slightly sharper as he observed the chakra circulating through her body in such a way that it'd be similar to his own prior. However, there was small faults with it, mainly control. That was understandable. However, one couldn't lie to say he wasn't surprised by this development. In sheer minutes, she'd done it.

A 'true' genius.

If Ryū was a normal individual, he'd sigh in resignation in the difference in talents, but he wasn't a [Normal] individual. He was the [Divine Emperor]; therefore, he felt absolutely no sense of inferiority. There wasn't any pride either. This wasn't an accomplishment to feel proud of.

"Close."

He said. His hand would suddenly appear in front of his body. The palm faced upwards, and the fingers clenched around invisible air as if grabbing the world. A fire was produced with the strength of a [D-Rank] Technique. Despite its small size that barely broke apart from his palm, the heat and intensity was not for one to underestimate. In his Sage Mode, this heat had been intensified by [x2] its base power.

His palm turned to their immediate right, or her left, and shoot out to land squarely on the ground about [8 Meters] away. It burned a hole deeply before it dispersed silently.

"Two Hours. Three Tries. From there," he'd powerfully point beneath her footing, "to there." That finger would trace itself in a line towards the newly burned hole.

"If you fail, you restart." When he said that, suddenly the pressure of the air suddenly turned immensely heavy as if a hundred pounds of gravity had been added to every single speck of dust and existence. There was a subtle rumble from the ground from the pressure and presence. This was [Domination]. It bore itself solely upon Keiko's small frame, as of now while she remained within her [Sage Mode], she could resist, but when it was removed she'd find it hard to breathe, and it'd be as if she'd suddenly gained a so much weight. He didn't dare release his full aura, otherwise even walking may be impossible for Keiko as she currently was.

"Focus. Your body, your thoughts, and intentions must be in unison." To work in conjunction is to propel forward. It was similar to Senjutsu in that unison requirement. Her previous failure wasn't due to the fact she failed the technique, no, she succeeded. It was because her mind and thoughts weren't unified so she had a lapse of attention and lose her balance due to spontaneous occurrence. She had to plan this out.

Shunshin no Jutsu is a technique which propels one from one location to another, a short full-body burst, and it is pre-determined and decided beforehand. It is not a general speed-enhancer one can utilize to zig-zag and hop about at their leisure. That was [Desolate Body: Shadow] - what he intended to have her learn.

Close.

Close wasn’t success. Both of them knew that. Keiko felt no accomplishment from what she did, but she did feel the need to continue on, try again, and try harder. Even as she focused upon the chakra in her body, she would feel the change. Sure, before her Ryu was doing something, but Keiko knew she was out of time. Sighing, she’d let her focus upon energizing her cells dwindle as her Imperfect Mode would fade away. The scales vanishing and the girl all over losing her reptilian scheme. Normal Yutakako Keiko. She loved herself, but there was something near addicting about that powerful Sage Mode.

He shot fire from his palm. No hand seals, no anything. This was the King before her. Her teacher and the one she would eventually become. Little did she know that he expected her to surpass. A small distance away the fire would shoot from his palm and the red-haired girl would turn her head to see where it struck. The ground now bore a mark of fire upon it, a burn. The heat singing the grass and even the earth beneath. A grin came to the child’s face, she always enjoyed fire and katon, and her teacher’s mastery was a wonderful thing to witness. When she looked back to him, he was pointing at her feet.

Two Hours. Three Tries.

That was his instruction. She had to do it again. She had a time limit, an amount of tries, and a distance. Keiko could do that! The grin only deepened, the joy on her face. Looking to Ryu and giving a nod, she already began to gather and focus her chakra into her body! Spread it out among her muscles so she could attempt it again.

"I can do tha-"

Her words were cut off as he released his chakra upon the world. The pressure that met her body was not one she openly invited. What she had taken as a blessing at the start of the lesson was now stripped from her. Breathing was harder. Standing was harder. She could already feel beads of sweat forming upon her forehead. He was speaking now and Keiko was having a bit of trouble keeping her gaze just upon him.

"I can... do that...”

There was still confidence, but much more strain. She wasn’t going to let his weighted chakra ruin her efforts. She had time to improve and she would use it!

Chakra to the body, chakra to the body. The girl focused and concentrated the same way she had the first time. It was harder now though. It took more time. Took more energy. The strain on her body made things more difficult and she was impatient. In too little time, Keiko would try again.

Her body burst to the side, moving quickly in its normal state, and the effects would much be the same. She got farther, maybe three meters, then her body failed her and she went tumbling forwards. Her hands catching her somewhat, but her torso still hitting the ground with a thud thanks to his King’s Presence. Trying to gasp in air from the lack of success and hitting the ground, Keiko would get to her feet again. Slowly, but get there. Walking back to her original position all still while trying to get her chakra in place again. The music was drowned out by very very loud playing. Ryu. Ryu was right there and blasting his presence upon her. He’s all he could hear, with herself minorly in the background.

She would take her time. Keiko was going to get it right this time. Screw three tries. This would be her last and final moment. And she would get it right. The time it took her to prepare and to ignore the presence of her teacher was significant. She focused, much like she did when gathering natural chakra to mix with her own. Focused upon her body. Combined it with her mind. She wanted to get to that other spot. That spot specifically. And not fall to the ground. Her eyes were on that spot. They stayed there. Blinking when she needed, but all in all focused. The two hours would fly by as the girl settled into a slight meditation between senjutsu and ninjutsu focus.

Then. Movement. The child would succeed. Her body sprinting across the eight meters even with Ryu’s chakra pouring out of him like a heavy waterfall. Her feet planted into the burned spot. Facing away from Ryu. She stopped. She did it and she was there.

Turning around, She raised a triumphant hand into the air and waved.

"I could do it~”

She sang out.

There are a few people in this world whose potential in all things is brought to its fullest potential in pressured situations. Essentially, when things get difficult - they become even greater. It was similar to a diamond being created carbon. Beneath the earth, the carbon must withstand the greatest of pressure and afterwards turn into something absolutely incredible. After that, when refined properly, that diamond can turn into something even more dazzling to the world.

Ryū's life had barely any 'true' difficulties. To him, everything was simple. Everything was easy. He always had enough strength, he always had sufficient talent, and sure - he had to spend time to get to this point but it wasn't difficult simply consuming. It was like taking a normal piss, it is done so naturally and easily. To him, that's how it was.

He felt, for Keiko, she had an even greater level of innate strength, even greater degree of impossible talent, but she also had something he didn't have - him. Her road could be simple, like his, and thus limiting her talents, but with her personality to always look forward, to never complain, and to be resilient makes her both carbon and a monster.

Ryū will make her a diamond, one greater than all.

He watched her from beginning and end. His body barely moved, as if he blended in with the natural environment, or more so, with his presence blazing outwards - the environment was him. Seeing her fail the first time, he didn't flinch. He didn't even need to analyze her progression. Ryū waited for her to succeed within his restrictions. He expected, no, he demanded nothing less.

[Two Tries].

Seeing her succeed, Ryū slightly, very slightly, nodded his head in satisfaction. She slowly adjusted to his pressure and worked through it. In truth, that was pretty much to concept of being crushed by the pressure as carbon and turning into something better. Its when you realize you need to transform, to change, to be more than what you are.

His pressure lessened, removed itself to be retained closely to his body but still radiating outwards strongly. "Mm. Shunshin is essential to all shinobi, a skill that can not be ignored." He spoke, strongly advising her the importance of this technique. "Never cease practicing this skill." After his words were said, he turned around and simply left. His body vanishing in a shadowy afterimage.

Waved in triumph. Then plopped on her butt. His wavelength of chakra was still strong upon her body. He had such power. Getting used to it was something, nearly impossible. Plowing through it was possible. But.. tiring. She succeeded in the Shunshin. She got to her spot. And she planted herself there. The rising and falling of the youth’s chest was significant. It had been difficult. Mixing her knowledge, body, mind, nature... They were all essential but she was too slow at it. She needed to get faster! And physically, she needed to get stronger. She couldn’t let Ryu crush her. She couldn’t let ANYONE crush her.

The girl would struggle back to her feet just before he began to withhold his powerful chakra. Standing now, the pressure would subside from her immediate vicinity and draw nearer to himself. The girl a few meters away, she could breathe so much easier without the Lord weighing down upon her. In response to her success, wave, and speaking, Ryu would reply.

A simple nod. Barely there, but Keiko would notice. This was her teacher, she should be able to know him at least somewhat by now. The grin never fell from her face, she was much too pleased with life and her day to have it fall away because she had momentarily collapsed. He told her to keep practicing and that she needed it. Giving her own nod in return and dropping her hand, she’d see her Lord and teacher fade into nothing. Chuckling, the girl would raise her hands to her mouth, cupping around it.

"I’ll never stop practicing! Ever!”

Her own kind of different was to push on and be herself. She’d never stop.
