Naruto: Fallen Blades' Third Semiannual Chuunin Exams!

Apologies to participants for the delay. With Maverick's departure staff will be handling these Games.

This examination is an analysis of the intuition and knowledge of qualified Genin from across the shinobi world who are prepared to take part in the Chuunin Exams. Each participant will be given a pen, an answer sheet, and 30 minutes to answer 5 questions. These questions will be varied with weightings that are unknown, but with a total value of 30 points. This means it is in one's best interest to answer as many questions as possible.

Like all exams, cheating is at your own risk. If you are caught, your answer sheet will be confiscated and not be scored. However, that is only if you are caught....

Notice!

  • All questions and answers will be assigned in the form of PMs to the proper accounts. There will be no posting. When the exams are done, results will be announced in the news thread.
  • There should be no OoC collusion while the exams are taking place.
  • Keep in mind the knowledge and ability of your characters when answering. Staff reserves the right to add or subtract points.
  • Cheating is an option! There are four possible directions which characters can potentially cheat from: Front, Right, Left, or Back. Tactics pursued should accommodate for the direction you choose.
  • Just like real examinations, cheating is a risk. The person you attempt to copy from may not necessarily know the right answers. Examiners expect that competitors will try to cheat, so this is another risk. If you choose to cheat, try to not get caught! You will be seated next to NPC students whom you could cheat from via any means. If your tactic is especially witty in regards to your character's capabilities this will help you in the die roll which measures your character's success. (Base of 1/4 chance of not getting caught. Separate 2/4 chance of cheating off a 'smart' person) With risk comes potential rewards and potential detriments, so chose wisely!
  • From the moment you receive your PMs, you will have exactly one week to respond.
  • Have fun!

Naruto: Fallen Blades' Second Semiannual Chuunin Exams!

RESULTS ARE IN!

Kyobana Ikari: 14/30
Sesshoku Akira: 17/30
Yutakako Keiko: 14/30
Shinmen Akemi: 17/30
Shinmen Katsuro: 13/30

With the written examination completed, the Chuunin Exams will now move onto its Second Phase!

Before I begin, I would like to wish each and everyone one who signed up for the Chuunin Exams the best of luck. We hope you'll enjoy it as much as we had thinking it up! Threads for your battles will be up shortly.

RULES FOR THE CHUUNIN EXAMS BATTLE STAGE

  • Try to have fun. We are all RPers and amateur writers. We shouldn't take anything too personal.
  • Listen to what staff says. If we say something is final, it is final.
  • Each member has 48 hours to post before being skipped.
  • If you have some extenuating circumstance that doesn't allow you to post in that time, please inform staff and we may give you a small extension, otherwise if you're skipped your opponent is allowed to make some of their attacks hit and if you're skipped twice in a row, their attacks may be more lethal.
  • Each match should be run under a time limit of two weeks OOCly, or the equivalent of 16-18 (still under discussion) posts. Whichever comes first, the match will be halted and the result decided. (Win, Loss, or Draw)
  • A win is equivalent to 45 points, a draw is 30 points, and a loss is 15 points out of 70. The remaining points will take into consideration other factors.
  • Other members are allowed to post in the threads of competitors, but their actions ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE ANY EFFECT on the outcome of the battle. This means jumping onto the battlefield, performing jutsu, etc.
  • And I can't state this enough....

Staff advises that members must keep civil, and try to have fun. Staff will do their best to keep things fair, and hope that members can resolve things between themselves. Staff can and will intervene at anytime, but fighting before or after this intervention about what happens in a battle will be severely looked down upon and can result in both players being booted from the event. Patience and understanding are the only things that will make this all run smoothly. Remember, Staff's word over a battle is final.

Naruto: Fallen Blades' Second Semiannual Chuunin Exams!

Alas, with Round 2 ending the Chuunin Exams are over! Now the wheat can be separated from the chaff.

Staff went about judging your characters' performances holistically. Along with the results and points mentioned in the table above, staff considered your character's Attitude, Strategy, Jutsu Knowledge, and Miscellaneous.

AND HERE ARE THE RESULTS (60 OUT OF 100 POINTS NEEDED FOR PROGRESSION):

Shinmen Katsuro - 52
Yamakira Takeshi - 56

-------------------

Kyobana Ikari - 68
Sesshoku Akira - 72
Shinmen Akemi - 78
Yutakako Keiko - 88

Members that have characters that are qualified for Chuunin status would need to post up an appeal stating that they need to make changes to their character. Edits or add-ons to appearance, persona, history, and jutsu can be made but before then they need to make sure they have the mission/jutsu requirements stated in the promotion thread.

Flak Jackets from one's village can be included into a character's inventory to commemorate their rank-up.
