DESCRIPTION:

With Iwagakure's current course to return the village to its former glory, it starts to reach out for territories now independent, but once held under Iwagakure's influence and protectorate. One of these lands is the Land of Stone. A mountainous region very similar to Iwagakure, with a meager shinobi force. It is a ridiculous coincidence that the territory suddenly became independent. Iwagakure wishes to put it back under its protectorate.

However, things are not as simple as they seem. The Land of Stone harbors ill feelings and suspicions towards Iwagakure after an unprovoked attack by Nohime Kouen, and these feelings still persist. So, if they do not want to come to the Mountain, the Mountain will come to them.

A team of shinobi is assembled to operate under the guise of bandits and rogue ninja, without revealing their affiliation to Iwagakure. The task is to operate within the Land of Stone at its borders with the Land of Earth, and attack bordering settlements and trade caravans, imitating bandit raids. In order to make sure the ruse is legit, they are tasked to attack Iwagakure caravans as well. Should the Land of Stone send its shinobi to deal with the bandits, the team is tasked to defeat them as well. The purpose of this mission is to showcase Stone's inability to defend itself even against seemingly rogue shinobi and resort to Iwagakure for protection.
