Netsui Do what you love - or don't and die CLAN TYPE: Narashi CLAN ORIGIN: Moku no Kuni CLAN RESIDENCE: Kosuigakure no Sato CLAN IDEOLOGY The Netsui place a great deal of heart into their daily lives: opting for one that ignites passion and one's dreams. Their motto is something along the lines of "love what you do" - and that's a direct quote to ensure people follow their dreams. To get excited about something, to have one's eyes gloss over when talking about a subject. This ideology tends to produce quite bright sparks, loud voices and confident go-getters.
No matter what the circumstance, they are by no means a foolhardy people. The Netsui hold trust as a key thing between one another: they trust one another to do their role in their daily lives whether as simple as chores like laundry. Individuality is important to them, but so is cohesion with the group at large. Because of these large personalities that generally gets fostered, you would not think that it also produces the quiet kind: see- their ideology is to love what you do. You can love in each individual way. They are fiercely loyal to their homeland and do not produce many if any nukenins at all.
Generally speaking as a Narashi clan however, they are very hesitant for individuals to become Shinobi, even in spite of their fighting style. It is operated under a "if you must" attitude, with honorable mention to their 'love what you do' motto.
They host many individualistic clan based events throughout the year to celebrate the incumbent council changes, their incorporation as a clan and come together even for family events like birthdays. CLAN HIERARCHY As a clan they do not have a formal hierarchy beyond that of a replaceable council comprised of five people and one judge: chosen as and when fit and only serving a three year term. This is to ensure that everybody is being heard, and as such even among the three years they also make sure to have a variety of ages and backgrounds to vy for competition.
The large amount of people is necessary because with so many relatively loud voices and personalities meshing, the judge exists not to rule or lead: but to adjudicate the conversation by the bylaws created from past versions and acts as the voice of reason and requires a level headed somebody to act as the judge. The judge is simply there to monitor the conversation and to keep people on track.
What the council is there for is the overarching health of the clan and for any events that may take place, as well as involvement in the affairs of Shinobi to a degree, how the funds are spent (by an additional taxation only to Netsui clan members) so that they can be used to benefit the clan at large how to spend these funds. CLAN HISTORY The Netsui clan have been around for hundreds of years - because they did not have a kekkai genkai or bloodline, they have worked as farmhands. They were artisans: painters, gardeners. They were bodyguards: but all ignited for their own passions. Where they lacked a central authority and figure to carry them through, they began to band together by family association, using a core group of families in which later formed the 'five council members and one judge' - they were just families at the time, abandoning their old names in favour of a new honorable history, and from that the name Netsui was born. To mean excitement: vigor.
The concept of being Shinobi at the time had seemed unthinkable. They were around and among the people hurt the hardest during the battles using Moku no Kuni, and had held abhorrent views of Chakra. This view has changed over decades and evolved as their needs changed.
The Dancing techniques, or Buyō Jutsu did not come until much earlier. Much like the ninja of previous decades where it was common to use farmhand tools to protect themselves, their stock or families - the chakram was a new invention which could be used to farm, and could be used to defend onesself. It did develop, eventually, into a style that held its own right as a performative technique. This seemed to unify them - who now had even more in common with one another. All of the Netsui had become incredibly fond of their own dancing, owing to their forefathers and with the religiosity of their land that made them more spiritual as a whole. Their input during the infighting that took place across Moku no Kuni was generally unfavourable, but when they were approached by the Nobunaga clan to unify they took the opportunity to stand on the same platform as all of those clan-filled clans. They had done well enough in their trading that they were afforded a seat at the table when it came to establishing Kosuigakure no Sato.
As a non-bloodline, non-special technique clan they were excellent for their other means, generally having a thousand and one professions at their disposal meant that they were the main people that another clan came to if they needed a specific task to be completed. Naturally, this did eventually branch into a shinobi centre where knowledge was free: and they would not claim it as their own so much as being the distributors of truth.
When the Oda clan took place, they did not take to the clan initially very kindly by the method in which it had done so, but they accepted this was the price of warfare and the price to keep their lands safe and sacred. As the village became established, they were a key infrastructure point that helped establish most of the village's core systems: from teaching, to the manufacturing of the equipment, to common buildings that were useful for everybody.
Generally, the Netsui from then were known as a noble clan, pleasing their ancestors and their existence for living - and are treated well in spite of their bloodlines being empty of abilities, but they continue to produce the finest shinobi of Kosuigakure no Sato. CLAN ABILITIES The Netsui clan do not have any specific abilities: but hold a style of fighting with the use of a Chakram.
Buyō Jutsu | Dancing Techniques The Netsui clan are most commonly known for having warriors that use two small Chakrams that they use to dance with, or one large body sized chakram across a battlefield and attacking with a surprising amount of speed in doing so. The weapon directly compliments their 'dancing' and can make formidable fighting combatants that interweaves intersectionality and a melting pot of cultures with a fighting style that is still formidable and useful to the Netsui.
