Heh he...Well...maybe it will take less time with us working together"

With the way things had turned out, everyone had come out of the situation no worse for wear. Of course, the matter of Kisuke would still need to resolve itself. All they could do now was wait. Still, Ayukawa had managed to gain a bit more insight into some of her perceived beliefs and came to understand a bit more about where her insecurities came from. After spending so long within the village being told how weak she was for being unable to use Ninjutsu, to her clan even questioning her abilities of judgement, to feeling isolated from them only for them to take her back because someone had to stand up for her, she felt helpless and not in control of her life.

Of course, with this mission, she had started to see just how true that might have been...

So as the next day rolled in, with everyone still getting prepared for the final stretch, Ayukawa had already been up with the others, particularly Basagiri whom she'd grown quickly fond of and would likely miss upon the end of this. Still, with her keeping her word in displaying her Mantis fighting style, the Saeko would lower herself slightly to the ground, extending her right foot outward and allowing the other to remain close beneath her. Extending her hands, she'd shift their position to look similar to the piercers of the insect, allowing her movement to be swifter as she struck out against the air, soon adjusting her posture with a grin on her face.

"See? It may not be exactly right though. After what I've seen of insects, they have less extension and what I want is to create more reach in my strikes with this style. Of course, thats a whole other story! I tried it on a lion once during a mission, I managed to bat it away, only for it to swift me against the head. It really hurt, but I wasn't really injured by it because I was so low to the ground. So with that supporting me I..."

It was then that she caught sight of the young man, still with much need for recovery, but at least now back on their feet. With a blank expression, Ayu would listen as he seemed to be struggling with looking them in the eyes. Still, he had managed to thank them for saving him, even going so far as to apologize.

Staring at him, Ayukawa would then look back at the others before then checking with Yuushi as she walked towards him with her hand extended outward.

"I'm sorry too...I shouldn't have hit you like that...It wasn't right and I accept your apology...and Im glad that your okay..."

In saying this, she'd then sigh as she shook her head.

"I think I was just mad because some of what you said was true...or at least...it was for me...but during all this...I've realized that I don't have to be the strongest...as long as I'm doing my best...and I have others to count on too...everything will work out so I don't have to be..."

That said, the girl would then grin as she tilted her head to the side with her eyes closed.

"Thats what being on a team is about..."

In this, Ayukawa then would place her hands at her side before then holding still.

"But...Fair is fair...so because I hit you...you can hit me...if you want to?"

Lion's Sleep
Hunter instincts and experience on the hunt have granted Ayukawa insight into the minds of the prey she encounters. Animalistic encounters have allowed her to track and be capable of following those that she intends to target, at times giving her brief, but small insight into their intentions. While not fully developed, they have improved over her continued use and natural development, allowing her instincts to be heighten to a point where she isn't caught off-guard when activated or in an intense moment that requires a reaction. It also allows for her to at times get inside of the heads of her target, mostly due to their movements and their patterns once discovered. It is a skill that is constantly growing, though has yet to reach it's full potential.

In the Jungle
To survive in the desert, one must be able to keep up with not just the prey, but also to outrun the wild predators as well. Ayukawa training and life in the wilderness and vast landscape has prepared her for such events. Her genetics in relation to the Saeko Clan have given her an edge in physical combat, along with making her much more agile. Living out in the desert has also made her incredibly durable due to the intense environment surrounding her, along with possessing a high amount of physical stamina.

Law of the Jungle
The law of the jungle states that the strongest survive and the weak perish. In further effort to increase upon such a principle, Ayukawa has further increased her strength by the usage of training weights. Her constant runs, strikes, and combat acts have more impactful strides due to their instrumental usage. As such, while not yet strong enough to break boulders without applying chakra, she has improved the impact strength of her strikes to the point that she can fracture bones with more ease, much like the bite of a lion.

I could go supersonic, the problem's chronic
Tell me, does life exist beyond it?
When I need to sate,
I just accelerate into oblivion

Zakku laying on the wagon rolled another blunt and tucked it into his pack with the others.  Seeing how his teammates were getting along he found himself feeling a bit mournful that soon they would be separated again back to their respective countries.  He'd just have to hope that in the future they would team up again.  Looking up from his spot he spotted Kisuke approaching Ayu-chan.  He leaned forward waiting to hear what was said.  The kid looking upset about apologizing made him smile.  Guess the kid did learn.  "No problem Dude.  However I got another recommendation."  Zakku added after Ayukawas apology.  Grabbing the side of the wagon he let out a grunt and pulled himself off of it.

"Let me do it."  Zakku said hoping down from his spot on the wagons.  "Let me hit her for you.  I'm still sore about the chuunin exams."  He said emotionlessly as he stared dead at Ayukawa.  While he was still very very sore about what she did to his arm in the exams he knew when it came to hand to hand she'd outclass him thirty times out of ten.  It was a truth he was more than aware of.  Closing the distance between him and the others he stopped making hand signs behind his back.  His finger tips glowed blue as he flexed hand.  "By the way kid..."  Slowly turning his head to face

"Zzzzzzzap!"  He called out and started Zapping the child with his tickling touch.  A move he used to irritate his friends was being used for a semi-same reason.  Hitting the teen in the sides he continue going repeatedly saying, "Zap."  Having no intention of hitting Ayukawa he continued getting his revenge for leading them into a spiders nest by tickling of the kid.  "Yeah I lied I'm not hitting her.  She knows my weaknesses."  That much he knew for a fact.

Jutsu used:
Raiton: Kusuguri no Jutsu [Lightning Release: Tickling Technique]
The user gathers a light charge of Raiton chakra in their hand and touches a few parts of the body of their opponent. The Raiton will create a tickling feeling, making it itch and uncomfortable, making the opponent laugh when well placed. It is mostly a distraction Jutsu and will end after a few moments.

It was good to spend the night in his own home village. Sure, he wasn’t spending it in the Senju compound with his family, but he was home, and there wasn’t much journey left to go before his role in this mission would be done. Stretching, having been refreshed by his sleep in a proper room and bed, the young man ignored what was going on with the rescued Kisuke and the other members of the team. He hadn’t really had stakes in that argument, and it wasn’t his business, either. Instead, he chose to observe as they loaded up for the final stretch of their journey, mourning the fact that he had to continue to wear the battle kimono instead of the fine silk ones he was so fond of.

As they readied to set off, he checked to make sure all of his weapons were stored in their correct places. Many of them had been worked into his sleeves, though there was a short blade hanging at his hip that he doubted he’d have to use. Attacks were rather unlikely, or so he hoped. Not that it would truly matter either way, but the journey was almost up regardless. Thankfully, their luck had mostly been pretty good. The enemies they’d faced were mostly easy enough to defeat, and they’d all walked away more or less unscathed save for his own minor chakra exhaustion and some cobwebs in the other’s hair.

Casting a look at the team, the man sighed. It felt like it had been weeks, was it truly only a few days?

- A Long-Awaited Victory -

The morning was a bustle of activity, Ayukawa showing off her Mantis taijutsu techniques to a fascinated Basagiri as the caravan got ready for the final stretch of the journey. As Kisuke spoke to her, however, he grew visibly more nervous each time he furtively glanced at her blank expression, fidgeting in place and seemingly waiting for the death knell to come.

But—it didn’t. He exhaled heavily when Ayukawa and Zakku both accepted his apology, a massive weight seemingly lifted from his shoulders all at once.

"It’s okay,”
he said with a shrug, idly rubbing at his nose—the medics had done some work to re-set it properly, and the dark plum of yesterday’s bruising had paled instead to a sickly yellow. "I was being a dick.”

Spoken like a boy who had truly internalized the meaning of the lesson fuck around and find out.

She offered to let him hit her, to which Kisuke’s eyes widened and he held his hands up, fingers splayed in the universal gesture for hell no I’m not messing with that, looking relieved as Zakku tagged in for him. "Uh, sure, I guess, if you really wa—”

He was cut off by his own scream, sharp and high-pitched, as Zakku descended with sparking fingertips to tickle him into oblivion—a scream that quickly devolved into gasping laughter, wheezing as he tried to push Zakku’s hands away and wriggle himself to freedom and escape from the sudden onslaught.

Kazuyuki ignored the commotion entirely in favor of preparing himself for the last leg of the journey, while Yuushi was surely busy with Basagiri for most of the morning. Before long the caravan was ready to set off again, and the group departed Konohagakure without much further fanfare.

As promised, this final stretch was swift and uneventful. The roads traveling to Hi no Kuni’s eastern border were clear, the weather was bright and sunny; there wasn’t so much as a squeaky wheel to keep them from traveling at a healthy speed to Nohara no Kuni. There was another overnight rest once they reached the border, then it was full speed ahead to Kusagakure, passing through for all of forty minutes before they finally, painstakingly made their way to Nokoribi—and it was done. For all their effort, the days spent traveling and bickering and fighting, they finally made it.

The mission was done.

Be Brave, Stay Wild

Nakahara Yuushi Avatar

age 19 years old birthday 10/09 rank Sp. Jounin occupation Sage
Yuushi almost considered cutting that stupid cigarette in the Zakku's mouth in two. The smoke had seemed so much easier to ignore during battle, the adrenaline had made it so easy to ignore. But now, during such a precise operation, it was once again choking him. He didn't respond to Ayukawas encouragement, as he literally held his breath, the only sounds the audible chewing of Basagiri feasting until Kisuke was freed from his cocoon. Then the green haired young man could finally breath easy, or maybe not as he went into another coughing fit now that coughing wouldn't end with him bisecting someone. Thankfully everything was over at least, so his coughing would only be a momentary distraction before they'd be able to head back. And the older teens mood would improve when they returned, and he saw the young teens fathers reaction. He could take comfort in knowing that they'd definitely done the right thing, even if the caravan might arrive a little late.

And after a day of smooth travels and rest, Yuushi would once again be in good spirits, sitting on the caravan as preperations were made, and watching as the tanned girl began showing off her mantis style to the very excited Basagiri, just as the teen boy had suggested. Though this wasn't quite how he'd imagined it. You know, when I suggested that you should demonstrate your mantis style to the mantises...I was imagining doing it in front of bigger crowd. And his remarks would be met by the tiny mantis participant turning on him with a fury. SHUSH! You're not even a part of this! You don't use the mantis style to fight! And the young man would raise his hands in surrender, the mantis sage officially uninvited from the mantis style demonstration.

He then turn to see what his other companions were doing, and he'd see Zakku rolling another blunt. And suddenly he'd feel his heart rate and stress levels start rising, breathing heavier until it was simply put away instead of lit up. He hadn't realized that, just how much the smoking had bothering him to the point that seeing a blunt triggered him. So he'd turn back to the demonstration, putting the blunts out of his mind, hopefully for the remainder of their journey.

YOU FOUGHT A LION?? You're so cool! The young mantis was very enthralled by the demonstration and emphasizing different parts of the style with story, it was a very effective way to keep the young mantids attention. Until Ayukawa herself became distracted by the appearance of a familiar, and slightly more roughed up face. The tanned girl looked to Yuushi for approval, his spiky hair shaking about as he nodded his head to give her the go ahead to approach the boy. And he was smiling proudly as both of them apologized, and how they were happy for each other's well being, and Ayukawa showing impressive introspection. This was exactly the type of comraderie he imagined when thinking of teamwork, even if the young boy wasn't technically a part of their team, they were still in this together. Though as the black haired girl offered to be hit in return, he felt maybe they were going a bit too far into making amends.

Uhhhh... The green eyed teen started interjecting to discourage the idea of evening things out with fists, until a head of blue hair stepped in for him. But instead of relieving the tension, Zakku simply offered to do the hitting instead. Uhhhhhhh.... Yuushi's audible hesitation only grew louder now, and he slowly reached for a scythe. And he wouldn't be the only one to dislike that development.

HEY! That's not fair! You can't step in for him! You hit way harder! Basagiri stepped up, angry at the betrayal of the Suna Nin to his own countryman and friend, and the small mantis tried to get between him and her new best friend. Thankfully though it wouldn't be necessary when Zakku instead turned on the still recovering teen, poking him and causing the teen to cry out with each poke as the blue haired young man yelled zap. Yuushi didn't know the jutsu, but it didn't take a prodigy to put together just what was happening, ration on each fingertip. It was almost like how he'd formed nature Chakra on his own. Still, Yuushi would quickly try to put a stop to harassing the recovering patient by poking the blue haired young man with the stick end of his scythe. Maybe a bit harder than he'd initially meant, some subconscious frustration leaking out from the smoking.

Alright stop teasing him. He's still healing, that's probably not good for him...And as he thought of all the positive development of Ayukawa, and everyone being open with their feelings, he decided to open up as well.

And I'm mad at you. He poked Zakku again, gentler this time though his face was more stern than it'd been before. I told you smoke really bothers me but you kept smoking near me. You were inconsiderate. But... He didn't poke him again, instead the young sage placed his scythe back on his back. I've enjoyed our journey together. With everyone. And I want to continue to until it ends. So I'd like it to be smoke free. And then he looked to Ayukawa. Thanks for the good example. I needed it. And he smiled, waiting until they set off to the end of their journey.
