Okami Kohaku BASIC INFORMATION NAME: Okami, Kohaku.

With an overall fairly tall and athletic build, alongside gifted curves and well-endowment, the most noticeable traits Kohaku has are signs of their Okami lineage. Though it is more of a gray coloration than stark white Kohaku’s bright hair and light skin are telltale signs of their Okami lineage. Their hair is of a fairly long length but is almost always unkempt in some way and their eyes are of a light gray color. As an Okami their head is adorned with two animal ears of a matching tone to her hair, and she wears two clips in her hair just below her left ear that were gifted to her by her now deceased brother. Her teeth are sharper than a human’s but not by too much, just enough to denote fangs with one that occasionally rests against her lower lip. Her fingernails and toenails are also naturally sharper than a human’s.
Her most common outfit consists of a jet black colored long-sleeved jacket that is worn open or closed depending on the weather, leading to two gray colored open fingered gloves. Her Iwagakure forehead protector is worn either around this jacket’s left sleeve or, should she be without the jacket, worn around her upper left arm. Her top underneath the jacket is a gray colored sports bra with black colored trim. She wears bike shorts for bottoms that are a matching black color to her jacket and black colored boots with gray straps as opposed to the usual shinobi sandals or a pair of tennis shoes.
Both of her ears are pierced with little stark white cat emblems meant to represent her familiar, Shiro, and there’s a noticeable scar that runs the length of her left eye.

HISTORY For Kohaku Okami, life was never particularly difficult. Even at a young age Kohaku expressed a talent toward the shinobi life and boasted a fairly impressive intelligence, capable of remembering things she was taught or read fairly decently. Never one to hold a cruel bone in her body and feeling a strong kinship with the other members of the Okami family it was no surprise that Kohaku quickly and aggressively befriended the original holder of the Shizuka name, though she found it much more difficult to grow close to her brother, Shirayuki, so instead focused a great deal of her efforts into getting closer to Shizuka. Over time, a childhood crush had begun to develop though Kohaku was careful to keep it solely to herself both due to familial expectations and well, when you’re young you don’t really think of things with the mindset of an adult!
As Kohaku grew older she began to realize that this supposed so-called "talent” only expressed itself when it came down to menial tasks. In truth, when it came to the shinobi arts Kohaku was only talented in one particular field: Taijutsu. It enabled her to become a strong fighter even when young but disabled her in other areas, prompting her to try and excel in the area she held such a strong lean. She also exhibited traits that would become iconic of the Nekomata clan, acting honorably and loyally. As the civil war loomed on the horizon Kohaku would begin to notice a subtle change within Shizuka, a change that she was not able to properly gauge. She was too young and too inexperienced.
When news of her aunt’s death struck her Kohaku was torn apart inside, hurt for the first time in her life in a major way. Attempting to find Shizuka and console her, Kohaku's last interaction with her crush nearly involved her spilling her guts out and admitting her feelings, only to be cut off by a sudden and fierce battle between the two. Calling it a "battle” would be disingenuous, as Kohaku was completely overwhelmed, defeated, and left with a nasty scar over her left eye. The eye itself was able to be saved, but the scar remains as a reminder of what had transpired. As time passed Kohaku’s parents, mother Seiko and father Hideo, began to become wary of Ryuuno Okami’s behavior. Ryuuno’s wife’s presumed death left Seiko fairly shaken as it had been her sister by blood, and left Hideo suspicious of Ryuuno who had once been a good friend.
When Kohaku entered the academy she did not make any attempts to reach out to Shirayuki, now going by his departed sister’s name and even masquerading as a woman. Kohaku despised "Shizuka” for what they were doing, but was informed by her parents to keep an eye on Shizuka. Even though the young man found it difficult to resonate with others and was a victim of social estrangement, a harsher fate befalling him was warded off by the more charismatic Kohaku. She had the gift of gab and could win people over to her side without needing to resort to physical violence. Meanwhile Kohaku did not stop training her body and attempting to excel as a shinobi herself, graduating from the Academy and being gifted two hairclips, one from her mother and one from her father. It was during this time that Kohaku was pulled off to the side by her mother and informed of a specialized training routine he had thought up to teach her, waiting until she had become a Genin as he felt she was too young.
Believing her mom to have been nothing more than a homemaker it was revealed to her that not only did her mom know and excel in the Sankon Tessou but she was also a practitioner of the Eight Celestial Gates, a dangerous, forbidden technique that involved opening the eight chakra pathways within a shinobi’s body to grant them increased physical capabilities. Kohaku had a hard enough time learning how to use the Sankon Tessou but adding the Eight Gates into it was almost an impossibility. Each time she looked in the mirror however she was reminded of who had given her that scar and, fueled by the desire to one day find her and make her answer for what she had done, metaphorically pushed herself back up once again. As her Genin years proceeded Kohaku flipped from team to team due to managerial circumstances and racked up a good number of missions while also excelling in her usage of Taijutsu.
But along with this training and passage of time came with it a softening of Kohaku’s heart. When it was revealed to her that Shirayuki did not choose the life they ended up with but were forced into it a great deal of Kohaku’s vitriol disappeared, and guilt instead took its place. She was proud of her cousin as she watched his success, and still did her best to watch over him in terms of safety even though it made her feel a bit like a creeper at times. Now a Genin with an advanced position, able to tackle much more dangerous missions and having a great deal more skill when it came to the Sankon Tessou and the usage of the Eight Gates, Kohaku prepares to finally say hello again to Shirayuki after so many years.
