Isonade

OWNER: Hōzuki Keneō

RANK: C

CLASSIFICATION: Combination

ELEMENT: Owner Dependent

DESCRIPTION:
Isonade is a Kusari-Fundo, a long piece of chain with an attachment ring on one end and a weight on the other. By using the attachment ring, Isonade for instance can be attached to Kagewani to allow for alternation between fighting styles or to make two weapons effectively into one. One side of the chain is flat and smooth while the other side is serated and barbed, making it possible for someone who holds onto the chain to receive painful and deep lacerations. While most would focus on the weight at the end of the chain when it comes to not wanting to be hit by something, the chain itself is dangerous in its own way. At first glance however, these serated edged can be hard to pick up on, especially when the chain is in motion.

ABILITIES:
Shark Teeth: Though called 'teeth', the chain is honestly more akin with a shark's scales. When rubbed one way, one is entirely fine. Rub in the opposite direction, one receives cuts and lacerations. The same goes for Isonade. To someone who knows what they are doing due to having handled the weapon before, grabbing onto the chain is child's play. But to those who did not have that same training or were caught entirely unaware, simply making contact with the chain as it flies past one's body can be enough to leave painful and deep cuts.

Looking at the weapon, it appears fairly generic; what do you think about making it a universal weapon instead? Or you could personalize it more to give it the feel of being a personal weapon while keeping in mind that doing so would not prevent someone else from making essentially the same weapon.

I honestly wouldn't hate that, but the thing is, this weapon is a bare bones version of what it will become over time. I figured the idea of a chain with hooks and barbs would be a cool idea to build off of. Due to the current rules, I can only have 1 B and 1 C ranked weapon, which is why I have not been able to provide it with further customization and personality. Aside from it being a one-sided Kusari-fundo in the sense that it only has a weight attached to one side and has an attachment which allows this weapon and my Wakizashi to connect together feels to me like it makes it a bit more unique than the standard Kusarigama-type weapon already.

But yeah, to answer the question, the main goal of this is to make what is essentially a skeleton of the weapon and to flesh it out as Ken ranks up, thus providing it with more different forms of customization.
