[Yusuke Sarutobi]

As Yusuke's suddenly weaponized mane of hair rushed towards Kazuto, the angry lion's heads chomping, Yusuke saw the Senju speed through a series of seals. He pulled his arm back and thrust it forward, the limb suddenly transformed.

It was as if a tree had burst from the Senju's body. Limbs and branches reaching out and colliding with the massive beasts of hair formed from Yusuke's hair. Yusuke's attack suddenly found its momentum being clashed against by the incoming wood.

His eyes still rested on Kazuto through the tangles of hair and trees and he saw the man form another set of seals. Suddenly from behind Kazuto Yusuke saw another Kazuto appear, and vault off of the original's back and high into the sky. As it rose the clone forming seals as well.

His brain kicked into overdrive, analyzing the situation. His objective was to land a hit on Kazuto. He had already seen that up close the Senju was not to be taken lightly. At range he was being placed in the defensive, his attack being countered and the clone further stacking the odds in Kazuto's favor. He could fight the clone, but it would get him no closer to victory. It left him limited options, which simply made deciding the next course of action rather easy.

He began to sprint forward towards the colliding jutsu as the clone sent a powerful blast of fire barrelling down towards him. Yusuke looked into the mess of branches, found a hole where a set of branches split to block his jutsu and grinned.

He dropped the lion's mane technique as his hands came together to form a single seal.

"Unbound." The Sarutobi shouted.

There was a click as his weights opened, dropping from his limbs. His mass of golden hair receeding back to normal like a wave. The instant his weights were gone Yusuke felt lighter than air, free in a way he hadn't yet been able to explore on the battlefield.

The heat from the fireball hit him, even as the jutsu closed and he vanished, blasting forward with chakra boosting his speed. The fireball barrelled into the earth where he had been an instant before as the Sarutobi appeared in the gap he had spotted.

His hands clapped together again, forming seals and suddenly a dozen clones appeared. They were the most basic of clones, intangible and without mass, but Yusuke hoped it would serve as a distraction for the second he needed it to.

The clones jumped towards various branches, sliding through them as at the same time Yusuke planted his feet into the side of a great limb and with all of the significantly increased strength in his legs from months of weight training, blasted forward and down, his body contorted in an almost inhuman way as he twisted to avoid the wooden limbs. He tore across the dirt beneath Kazuto's tree arm in a feet forward slide, appearing at the Senju's feet in an instant.

Yusuke's foot shot up in a kick aimed at his friend's chest. If it connected the man would be thrown into the air, and Yusuke would vanish again reappearing beneath him in his shadow, floating beneath his airborne foe.

Bracers and Greaves Ability Used:

Considering the impressive weight of the greaves Yusuke primarily uses then for weight training and defense. While worn they provide protection to covered limbs from piercing weapons of up to C rank, though it severely slows Yusuke down to wear. By forming a single handseal and calling out "Unbound" The greaves and bracers unlock and fall from Yusuke's limbs, allowing him to utilize his full speed

By invigorating one's entire body with chakra, a shinobi can seemingly disappear and reappear in another location faster than most people can see. Often times one's movements are disguised with the use of an extra element, be it a smoke bomb, leaves, water, sand, etc. in order to hide the user's trajectory from those with skilled eyes. Though it mimics teleportation, it is important to remember this jutsu merely boosts the agility of its user. As useful as this technique is, it can only be used 4 times in a battle thread, and any more usages beyond that result in muscle tears in the legs from overexertion

After performing the necessary hand seals, the user can create a handful of intangible clones to confuse the enemy. They do not contain solid mass, have no shadows and do not interact with the surrounding environment, making them somewhat easy to distinguish from the real person.

DESCRIPTION:

The user swiftly gets below the opponent and launches a swift yet powerful kick up into their body, sending them flying up into the air. In the blink of an eye, they will maneuver themselves in the blind spot and 'shadow' of their opponent as to not be seen while seemingly "floating" beneath them, allowing them a chance for a follow up attack.

[Senju Kazuto]

The stalemate ended as soon as it had began, as roaring forest of spears began to press against and gain ground against the wave of the golden mane. No. It's retreating, Yusuke ended the jutsu. Kazuto thought as he saw his friends murmur something, and the soft thud of something hitting the rocky soil. As his eyes followed his friend moving through the gap of his spears he pulled back his arm at the sound of a pop. Wind nature chakra was siphoned to his feet as he observed the man bring forth a myriad of clones, he would not deal with them, sure that these were a distraction. As the fingers of his left hand began to weave the necessary signs, taking preventing steps back, his eyes saw the dozen clones that came from him, and then one more Yusuke behind them. These were decoys to keep him preoccupied from the real threat, the real one among them. Yusuke's movement and speed were incredible to be certain. But he had forgotten about one thing, his clone had landed, pulled down by gravity and as it did, it began to weave a set of hand signs of its own awaiting for the correct moment to spring the trap. The sudden reappearance of the Sarutobi came as little surprise, chakra still pouring to the bottom of his feet, he saw the kick aimed as his chest, the limb swinging with greater speed as he noticed the bindings that the blonde man wore had been undone. The foot scrapped the very air, gracing the outer layer of the Senju's t-shirt as he backed away, and fell down, phasing through the ground and disappearing beneath it like an apparition. At the same time the clone sprung the trap. Vines and roots sprouted from the rocky plateau with violence, pebbles flew as a root rose and would begin to snake around the ankle that had been intended for her kick,. More and would follow suit as they would creep upon his arms and shoulders and torso, keeping him in place, threatening the Sarutobi with the unyielding bondage of nature.

DESCRIPTION:
Using the Wood Release, a user can manipulate the terrain, bringing out underground roots of varying sizes to fit various offensive situations, such as using the roots for trickery, misdirection and restriction. One can also use a large scale version, bringing out massive roots over a larger area that tangle around each other with such force that any one caught in-between is violently crushed to death.

Mokuton Mastery
A Senju in all but name, Kazuto was able to awaken the clan's coveted Kekkei Genkai, Mokuton. It is through the simultaneous use of Suiton and Doton that he is able to use prized element. After further training the high degree he demonstrated in the past has now reached greater peaks in both magnitude and scope. Additionally he has full command of the two elements that form Mokuton with the same ease that he would do with his Kekkei Genkai.

Taijutsu Expert
While not as versed on Taijutsu as he is on Ninjutsu, Kazuto has proven that he is more than just a competent fighter in close quarters scenarios. Combining his skills with considerable raw strength and speed, he can fight on equal footing with those who are experts on the form, as well to hold his own against master level practitioners.

Superior Chakra Reserves
Since birth, Kazuto was blessed with above average chakra reserves. Through intense training and countless missions, Kazuto now boast and impressive pool of chakra which allows him to keep fighting for far longer periods of time without the lingering concern of low reserves nor the fatigue that it would impose. While his Chakra control suffers from this, it's vast quantity makes up for the control.

One Handed Seal
After further study and training, Kazuto has gained the ability to cast jutsu with the use of a single hand seal. Although he retains the ability to form the more traditional hand seals, with the use of a single hand he can create use his techniques in a quicker pace than those that require both hands to cast would, as he has forgo the need of bring both hands together, wasting precious seconds in battle, as well use them in combat as if one of his hands were impaired or otherwise not usable.

Assassin
A dark trait, Kazuto has shown to be a proficient assassin. Clinical and accurate in his approach even against multiple foes, the young Senju has shown himself to be ruthless, relentless and brutal fighter when the need arises, dispatching foes without much thought or remorse, something that comes handy in his field of work.

[Yusuke Sarutobi]

As Yusuke landed at Kazuto's feet, his leg striking upward to hit the man, Yusuke felt the rising sense of triumph growing in his chest. Perhaps it was the sudden release from his bondage, his realization at how much improvement he had made with the weights, or maybe it was just the simple joy of fighting someone with everything he had.

His foot slid upward, literally sliding along the Senju's shirt as Kazuto dodged backward and seemed to slide into the earth in an instant. The sudden frustration ran through Yusuke in a wave of heat. "I was so damn close. How is he always a step ahead?" Yusuke thought.

To further his point as his leg moved to come back down roots exploded from beneath him, first wrapping around the ankle of his extended leg. Others shot out, beginning to wrap around his torso and arms and Yusuke turned his head and noted the clone that had triggered this new attack.

He struggled against the creeping roots with his arms ans managed to bring his hands together. He formed seals in a rapid, last ditch effort attempt to avoid becoming imprisoned.

His hair extended once again, though this time instead of bursting outward to strike at his enemy, it seemed to sharpened and harden as it slid around Yusuke, the spikes of hair slashing through the uprising roots as his hair became a mound of armor around him.

From the sliding position he was in however the jutsu left him wrapped up in the layers of hair and laying on his back. His head was tilted back to watch Kazuto's clone as the spikes finished slashing through the mokuton roots.

From beneath the mound of hair covering him Yusuke began forming seals again, the layer of hair above his hands hiding the movement. He finished the seals and released the jutsu.

Seemingly without cause spears of stone erupted from the earth beneath the clone, rising up to impale the thing with powerful force. Yusuke's mind raced, whether or not the jutsu landed he still had to get to Kazuto if he hoped to win, and he was presently laying on his back, very well protected but also very immobile.

As the spears shot up Yusuke formed a quick combination of seals, preparing a jutsu as he awaited Kazuto's counter attack.

Often times, the user will surround his or herself with the hair as a spike-covered mound so dense that weapons break upon striking it. If the user wishes, the hair can reach outward with its spines, aiming to thoroughly pierce and maim opponents with its stone-splitting spikes.

[Senju Kazuto]

The clone remained unfazed at the growing golden mane that had erupted from Yusuke's hair, spreading through the roots that had broken through stony soil. Following the thought pattern of the real one, the doppelganger began to retreat, gaining enough space whilst its hands began to forge another string of hand seals. As its feet came to a stop and the momentum carried the clone away another sprout began to behind it. It grew, the roots digging deeply unto the stone, cracking its surface as chakra was its life sustenance, a trunk grew taller and branches grew from which the delicate petals of cherry blossoms would dangle at the cold breeze, all in the span of a few second. The earthen spears approached, and as they did the real Kazuto emerged from the rocky soil just a few meters behind his clone, hands clasped together as if he were in the midst of warrior's prayer. At the beckoning silent command the facsimile Kazuto, the petals detached from the tree, flowing into stream of white and pink whilst the tree behind it dissolved like old crumbling pages of an ancient tome, with a thunderous crack the stream began to from a perimeter around the two Kazuto's, it's hundred thousand petals glinting white and pink under the sun as they tore a deep scare unto the soil, breaking the incoming spears and digging a trench to stop the rest. Suddenly, the clone outstretched his left hand, the flight of daggers flew relentlessly towards the plate made from golden mane that had broke through his roots. Meanwhile the real Senju opened his hands, the air that had been compressed and amassed exploded, a great gust that swept in behind the deadly cherry blossoms and sped their advance. A fusillade of the vanguard of the pink-white hail exploded on the soil around the Sarutobi, craters leaving a scar on the rocky surface, chip of stone cutting from the plateau flying away with the urgency of a living being that knew that a storm would come, a throat of steel threatened to fall upon the Yusuke.

After charging Fūton chakra into one's hands, the caster will clap their hands to initiate this technique. The clap causes the Fūton to compress and transform into a powerful gale. The gale itself has enough force to knock a human off of their feet; however, this technique's true power shows when used in correlation with shuriken, as it increases the wounding, piercing, and killing potential several times over.

The clone moved away from Yusuke, back pedaling as he formed a set of seals. The Sarutobi laid on his back, surrounded by his defense as he watched the clone's movement. From behind the clone a beautiful cherry blossom tree sprang upward, casting a shadow on the clone below. The branches and petals swayed in the breeze. It was a truly glorious sight that even in the middle of the battle Yusuke couldn't help but appreciate.

The real Kazutp sprang from the ground behind his clone. The tree seemed to crumble to pieces as its pedals, innumerable and and wonderful in sight, seemed to flow like a river around the Senju and his clone. The spears of Yusuke's jutsu sprang up, only to be destroyed by the flowing barrage of petals. Yusuke's brows rose is surprise as he realized the density and sharpness of the petals.

The clone extended his hand to command the petals and Yusuke allowed his defensive mane to shrink back down. The real Kazuto extended his hands and wind exploded forward towards Yusuke, the petals becoming a funnel of death.

Yusuke leapt from his back to his feet as the petals blasted the rock of the plateau apart before him. The petals seemed to wash over Yusuke, slashing through his flesh as he became consumed by the white and pink storm.

There was a puff of smoke as Yusuke's form was replaced with the massive backpack that Kazuto had made him carry on his march to the mountain. It had been lying, seemingly forgotten on the edge of the plateau where Yusuke had left it. As the backpack appeared, being slashed and sliced by the petals Yusuke appeared where it had been behind Kazuto.

He uses the shunshin again, his legs sending a sharp pain up to his hips from the multiple uses of the jutsu. Yusuke disappeared, reappearing behind Kazuto in a leap as his leg swung out in an arc, aimed for the man's head.

[Senju Kazuto]

The thunderous barrage continued, the tide of white and pink petal falling like hard rain that devoured anything it touched, chipping inches of stone at a time as his eyes remained focused on the consumed dome of hair that had covered the Sarutobi, his hands moving by instinct as he began to prepare as he caught the glimpse of white smoke and the backpack he had strapped upon the back of his friend as the training had begun. He would come from behind and he closed his eyes as the barrage died and the petals became wilted and died. The skittering sound of steps over the hard soil. Muscle memory kicked in, drills edged in the midst of battle mingling with the shared vision of his doppelganger as he saw the path the blonde man would take. His began his motion, rotating upon himself the kick aimed for his head grazing the air before his facial features. A hand would raise, fingers moving to curl around Yusuke's ankle, stopping the momentum entirely, languishing for a few seconds as his own hand seal was completed and the chakra within himself began to be transformed and given a purpose once more. A cascade would emerge from his hand, gushing out towards the Sarutobi, enveloping him as the Senju would release his hold and a sphere of water would formed from which Yusuke would float in suspension within the liquid. He supposed that this was it, this was the reach of his friends abilities, now it would be up to Yusuke to continue fighting or to capitulate and end the fight. "Surrender." He said quietly, his clone forming up behind him, its eyes peers as it looked around, making sure that there wasn't any hidden surprise that would come for either of them.

Utilizing chakra in the feet, ankles and legs specifically. It is a small amount of energy, but used precisely on reflexes and timing. This technique is gauged this way. When timed, the user can twist themselves abruptly out of the way of an attack. Like a speedy side-step, but a rotation of one's body to the side. A spin-move. This is only attacks in an immediate vicinity(three meters) anything else is too big an attack. Usually Taijutsu, but sometimes this technique is effective against close-range ninjutsu.

Description:
Suirou no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu that utilizes water to imprison an opponent. The ninja forms the necessary hand seals which causes the water to form around the target into a spherical prison which only allows for limited movement. The ninja must keep their body touching the water prison to maintain its existence. If the contact is broken, the water falls away and their target is released. When combined with a bunshin technique, the ninja can imprison their target but still allow for a clone to attack others nearby.

Taijutsu Expert
While not as versed on Taijutsu as he is on Ninjutsu, Kazuto has proven that he is more than just a competent fighter in close quarters scenarios. Combining his skills with considerable raw strength and speed, he can fight on equal footing with those who are experts on the form, as well to hold his own against master level practitioners.

Superior Chakra Reserves
Since birth, Kazuto was blessed with above average chakra reserves. Through intense training and countless missions, Kazuto now boast and impressive pool of chakra which allows him to keep fighting for far longer periods of time without the lingering concern of low reserves nor the fatigue that it would impose. While his Chakra control suffers from this, it's vast quantity makes up for the control.

One Handed Seal
After further study and training, Kazuto has gained the ability to cast jutsu with the use of a single hand seal. Although he retains the ability to form the more traditional hand seals, with the use of a single hand he can create use his techniques in a quicker pace than those that require both hands to cast would, as he has forgo the need of bring both hands together, wasting precious seconds in battle, as well use them in combat as if one of his hands were impaired or otherwise not usable.

Assassin
A dark trait, Kazuto has shown to be a proficient assassin. Clinical and accurate in his approach even against multiple foes, the young Senju has shown himself to be ruthless, relentless and brutal fighter when the need arises, dispatching foes without much thought or remorse, something that comes handy in his field of work.

[Yusuke Sarutobi]

From behind Kazuto Yusuke saw the Senju's attack fade. The beautiful and terrifying torrent of petals seemed to collapse in on itself as they withered and died, pinks and whites fading into nothingness. What was left in their wake was the ground Yusuke had been standing on, shredded to pieces and missing chunks of stone that had been sprayed everywhere. The backpack lay in ruins, the straps flowing through the air as the pack itself was little more than a shredded pile of fabric.

His leg striking out at Kazuto Yusuke knew his window was a small one. His use of the body replacement jutsu had given him perhaps an instant, and even that was generous, before the Senju realized what was going on. As his kick sliced through the air he saw Kazuto move, spinning with speed and dexterity that impressed even Yusuke. The Sarutobi's kick slid a hairs breath before the Senju's face as the man dodged.

And Suddenly Yusuke was whipped to a halt as Kazuto's hand grasped onto his ankle like an iron band. Yusuke had only a moment to register his friend's hand signs as the sudden halting of his momentum whipped him to a halt, and suddenly a cascade of water was blasting from Kazuto's hand and enveloping him.

He felt his friend's hand release his ankle, but the water had flown around Yusuke, and he was suddenly suspended in a sphere of suton, Kazuto's hand barely breaking the surface and maintaining it.

The Senju spoke. The single word was muffled by the water, but Yusuke heard it. Furious defiance ran through him. He fought to move his arms or legs, and found the water denser than it should be, his movement ranged limited to inches. He stared at Kazuto, his mind racing.

~Damnit, Damnit Damnit. Think idiot. Find a way out, you can't lose. YOU CAN'T LOSE~ A voice in Yusuke's head screamed.

But he had. Every move he had made had been countered, every step had pushed him farther into a corner. He had no weapons, no way to form seals for jutsu, and no time. He hadn't taken a deep breath before being trapped, and as he looked out at the Senj and his clone Yusuke's lungs burned for oxygen.

He was grasping for straws in a pitch black barn. He thought and thought and thought, but as his vision began to tunnel, as his body began to fade towards unconsciousness he knew he could do nothing. This was the gap between him and Kazuto. This was his impotence. He was weak, as everyone had always said he was. One hit. All he had to do was land one hit. Even that had been too much.

He lowered his eyes from Kazuto's and have a brief and curt nod. An acceptance of surrender. He waited for his friend to release him, his head bowed. Self loathing surrounding him as surely as the prison.

[Senju Kazuto]

Kazuto looked at his friend struggle, fight against the inevitability that had taken the form and shape of a prison made from water. A part of him wanted to praise him for not surrendering at first, for at the very least trying when everything seemed lost. But they both knew that it was forlorn at best. If this had been a real battle, Yusuke would be dead. When the slight nod of acceptance, he nodded back and ended the technique. The sphere of water that bad been hovering as it was tethered reality by his hand, fell and crashed against the plateau, water splashing over the otherwise dry mesa and with it, releasing Yusuke to the ground like a fish caught from a net. "Breath slowly." The Senju said, standing over his friend and composing the meaning of this lesson. He could see the man before him with a defeated expression, a pained look of realization that perhaps everything that was told about him was true. But at the very least, Kazuto didn't think so, true that there were plenty areas that he would need to work harder, but there was promise in his friend. There was a diamond in the rough after all and with enough refinement he could become a powerful shinobi in his own right. Kazuto crossed his arms over his chest and closed his eyes as he took a slow breath for himself and uttered a question to see how far could Yusuke grasp. "Why did I beat you?" It was a simply enough question, devoid of any tone that would suggest mocking or bragging. But there was a reason why he had asked it, if Yusuke would need to win, then he would need to understand his limitations and those of his opponents and work with that before they could continue. "Any idea?"

[Yusuke Sarutobi]

Kazutos nodded and Yusuke felt the prison around him break as his friend released him. He landed on his knees, his hands planted on the ground in front of him as he looked at the soaked earth around him. The dirt soaking in the sweet waters to quench its deep thirst. Kazuto told him to breath deeply.

Yusuke did. His lungs taking in the oxygen they had been deprived of while he was imprisoned. On his third breath the black spots in his vision began to fade and he looked up to see Kazuto standing above him, his arms crossed. He spoke, the Senju asking what seemed a simple question.

Yusuke rose, battling against the rising tide of frustration and despair. He reminded himself that this was training, that his loss was not the end of it all. If he could have won, he wouldn't need the training.

He placed his arms at his side and looked at Kazuto. Thinking. His friend didn't waste words. The question was being asked for a reason. And Yusuke took a moment to review the events that bad transpired in the match. To search for the answer.

"I lost momentum immediately. You got me at range, outnumbered me and your defense was better than anything I could throw. Couple that with the fact that you were able to seize control of the flow of the fight and it became a matter of time before I lost. All I was able to do was try to react to what you threw at me, and because I couldn't push back enough you could plan and prepare for whatever I was doing." He said.

"Even if you hadn't caught me then, I was dancing to your tune. Is that close?" He concluded.

He crossed his own arms, and felt the pang if begrudging respect he couldn't help but feel for his friend. His abilities were truly exceptional, and a smile spread across Yusuke's face at the thought. If anyone could drag his potential out it was Kazuto.

"I've got a lot of work ahead of me don't I?" he said simply

"Yes." He told his friend, slapping his shoulder. "Quite a road ahead. But with a lot of training and patience, you will succeed." Kazuto said that with a smile. Indeed the fight had been as he had described, the gap between them had been as wide and vast as that between heaven and earth. But if he had suffered frustration, then he did his best not to how it and just in that, Kazuto felt pride on his friend on that regard. The first step was after all conquering defeatism and adversity and even if his skills had not developed, there was the promise of ability within what he had shone, almost in the same way as if he were a diamond in the rough. "Get dried." Kazuto said as he moved back to the drop from the cliff, before he turned to his friend with a hint of a smile displayed upon his features. "When you're dried, march down the mountain, that's the next step of your training." He said as he took a step forward and plunged unto the abyss, using his momentum to spin and hop between the sharp outcroppings of rocks before he landed on the road that they had begun to travel and waved back at Yusuke, before he would start to make his way back to the village, beginning to form the plans of training that he would put the Sarutobi through.

[Yusuke Sarutobi]

As he offered words of encouragement to Yusuke the Sarutobi felt the man slap his shoulder. A simple friendly gesture that brought a smile to the Sarutobi's face. Kazuto intended to see this through, that much Yusuke knew already. If his friend approached Yusuke's training with the same stone solid determination he seemed to do everything else with Yusuke felt optimistic that he would become strong. The key was it was on Yusuke now to make it happen.

"Won't let ya down boss." He said with a chuckle as Kazuto headed towards the cliffs edge. He gave him instructions to dry off and march back before leaping off. Yusuke walked over to the edge of the plateau in time to see Kazuto give him a smile and a wave before taking off.

Yusuke collected his bracers and greaves, slapping and clasping them back onto his arms and legs before preparing to head back himself. He started for the edge of the plateau before spotting the simple wooden staff Kazuto had made for him before their match.

Yusuke walked over to it and picked it up. The solid wood shone in the morning light, and his grip tightened on it. He sat and pulled out his kunai. Kazuto had told him to dry off before leaving, so as he waited for the morning sun to do its work he began carving the middle of the staff. After a short time he was dry, and the symbol of the Senju clan appeared etched in the middle of the staff in both sides.

"This is a reminder for me." Yusuke whispered to himself.

A reminder of this defeat, but also a reminder of the support of his friend. He rose, placed the staff on his back and began the long march back home, and towards his future.
