[Senju Kazuto]

The Senju awaited in the usual place, where they had done their first training after she had summoned the courage to ask him to take her under his wing. He sat on the tree stump a book in his hand after he flicked through pages and he was trying to make sense to the options they had. Miho had allowed him some duties about their upcoming wedding, but as he looked at what she had told him consider and look at, he found it increasingly hard do decide. Kazuto was austere in his dressing style, he rarely deviated from the dark colors, but he wasn't sure weather to go for the moss green kimono or perhaps go for the more daring red and black one. As he sighed, the wolf at the bottom of his feet would turn its head to look at him, the massive thing that wore a black coat peppered with salt grumbled, getting his attention from his summoner. "What are we waiting for?" The wolf said, its voice deep like stones becoming crushed. Kazuto eyed the wolf and sighed, shaking his head at the lack of patience that Rosutoichi always showed. "Surely she's got a hold up. Besides it's not like you have something else to do." He said as the wolf scoffed and returned to pretend sleeping. As much as he disliked to agree with Rusotoichi, he agreed that Kazui was taking too long, It wasn't like her to be late for an appointment much less a training that they had schedules. Perhaps she had been detained on the road here, something with her clan or maybe she was helping an elderly person with bags of purchases or something alongside those lines. He would ask her for sure, but as he returned his sight to the magazine that Miho had given him, he heard the sounds of steps along the road and a smile appeared on his lips.

Kazui rushed through the village as fast as she could, making her way past the many villagers and and visitors who just so happened to be in town on this day. She had a training session scheduled with her master, and was running a little bit behind after stopping to help one of the elderly ladies with her bags of groceries. The girl remembered how much trouble she herself used to have with the same chore, so she couldn’t just stand around and watch, and shrug off the fact that the lady more than likely needed help. Kazui knew how it felt to be ignored and having to carry the load by yourself was never fun, so helping the woman was much more than doing a good deed to her.

The Uchiha eventually made it to the training yard that she and Kazuto held their first training session at, they almost always came here, so it wasn’t really anything special. Kazui approached slowly with her hand in her pockets, her eyes were facing the ground, and a peppermint in her mouth. It was gifted from the lady, it wasn’t much but it was better than nothing she guessed.

"I’m sorry for being late Master Kazuto.”

Kazui would say as her dark hues rose to meet the green eyes of Kazuto, but as she did so she noticed a giant wolf laying on the ground right beside him. She scratched her head for a moment as she inspected the furry guy.

"Um...please don’t tell me I’m going to be running from that.”

The girl would ask with a soft tone. She had been through a ton of weird training scenarios, many of them were unorthodox, so her having to run from a didn’t seem too far fetched.

[Senju Kazuto]

Kazuto raised his sight to meet the familiar shape of his young apprentice. With a slap he closed the magazine that had been given to him by Miho, before a smile would perch upon his lips at the reaction of the girl as she saw the wolf. It was understandable he supposed, the first time he had seen Rosutoichi, the wolf had been his usual rude self and even when he had not spoken the wolf would still would be intimidating. Before the Senju spoke however, his summon would bark a wolfish laughter as if something that she had said had been funny. Lazily raising to his feet he would take a few steps towards the girl and sniff the air before the head turned towards Kazuto. "This is it?" The wolf continued his laughter. "Out of all the people, an Uchiha, your ancestors must be rolling in their graves boy, specially for someone as edgy looking as her." Kazuto sighed and stepped towards the girl and the wolf before he would pull the skin as the back of the wolves neck, the wolf grunting in sheer annoyance. "Be nice Rosutoichi." He said with a disapproving look before he placed his hand before the long snout of the dire wolf. "Now, if you please." Amber eyes stared at the Senju before the wolf would scoff and upon its mouth before a long scroll would be produced from within himself. Taking the scroll Kazuto would nod the wolf to return near the tree stump, resuming his feigned sleep. "Forgive him." Kazuto said. "He's having a particularly bad day." He said, feeling that he lied, as the black wolf, the lost one of the pack always had a bad day. He knelt before her and began to unfold the scroll, displaying a list of names that has been scribbled upon assigned spaces with blood. A scripture work that detailed wolves in chase and a far land of mountains decorated the edges of the parchment. Places still remained untouched besides the stenciled names of Kamoku Hayate and Senju Kazuto. "So, today, I'll teach you to summon wolves." He said as he smiled at her. "Summons are useful allies, they can aid you in battle, give you support in the midst of combat or help you track enemies in the case of the wolves." He said before he would take a look at the wolf that was now resting behind them. "Usually the wolves are more likable than him, and when you get their trust, they will completely listen to you, well except him, he only listens to me." He said before the pointed to the empty spot. "Before I teach you the summoning technique, you need to sign your name." With that he would hand her a Kunai and allowed her to draw some of her blood and write her name."

It didn’t take long before Kazui began to feel a sense of disrespect coming from the wolf that had stood to its full height, standing as tall as Kazuto himself..a foot taller than the young girl. From the laughter, to the bashing of the Uchiha name, as well as the disrespect between her apprenticeship with Kazuto. Kazui gritted her teeth as she bit her tongue, wishing not to come off on the wrong foot, especially since it was a comrade that her master knew so well. Instead the girl would scoff as she folded her arms and rolled her eyes. If he wanted to be an ass, then she could be a pain in the ass in return.

Kazui remained silent as her master grabbed the wolf by the fur and de-escalated the situation. The tension was strong, and honestly the Uchiha could care less about the training session if this jerk was going to insult her the entire time. ’Why is he even here? She would ask herself as she watched the wolf regurgitate a scroll from his gullet.

"Gross”

She would say underneath her voice as she watched on. Kazuto approached closer and asked her to forgive Rosutoichi for his outburst of rudeness, which in return Kazui virtually ignored.

"Yeah...gotcha.”

It didn’t matter if he had a bad day or not, Kazui did enjoy being disrespected in such a manner, especially from a stranger let alone an animal. Who did he think he was? It made her blood boil underneath her skin, but no matter how much she hated the interaction, it was in the past and the Senju had her attention as he kneeled before her, unrolling the scroll as it showed a list of names signed, almost like a contract. The girl figured that he was going to have her sign it, and she was correct. She had learned about summons during the academy and actually had a few meetings with the kitsune summons before, it wasn’t anything entirely new to her.

Nodding her head as Kazuto spoke, Kazui stepped forward, hoping to sign the contract so that they could move on to the next step. The girl held out her hand, gesturing for something that she could write with, not knowing about the secret behind actually signing a contract.

"Ink, please.”

The girl would say softly as she looked over the contract, noticing that the "ink” looked different than it normally did.

[Senju Kazuto]

"Ink?" Rosutoichi barked a laughter, amber eyes looking at the girl before the massive wolf shook his head. "She isn't really bright is she?" The wolf said before returning to his rest as Kazuto shot him an angry look. Sometimes he wondered why he allowed himself to put of with the wolf. Then he remembered that the wolf was a valuable ally in the midst of combat. And that the wolf at least treated him with a modicum of respect when he gave him orders. However he would turn to look at the young Uchiha and shook his head as he sighed, deciding not to take any issue with the dire wolf. "You won't use ink. This is a blood contract." He explained as he pointed to his own signature, the crimson of his blood having drawn into something between dark brown and red. "Your blood is going to be what binds the wolves to you, it is the small payment you need to offer for the summon." It was at least how he his predecessor among ANBU had told him. He couldn't say that there was a much that made sense to him about that, but it was as it had always worked and thus he didn't question the rationale behind it. "That is why I handed you the kunai. You just need some little bit of blood, write your complete name on the parchment." Kazuto told her and awaited for her to complete the procedure. He had wondered in that moment if she had ever cut herself to draw her own blood and then knelt before her and took her hand, looking at how small it looked in comparison of his. He held the Kunai for her to take it once more before he directed her to just softly slide her index finger. "Slowly, it'll be over quickly." He said and allowed her to continue on her own.

Kazui looked at the Wolf with a flame of anger burning deep within her eyes, she gritted her teeth as she listened on to hear the canine insult her for not being well informed of what to do. Part of her wanted to say to hell with it all and just walk away but doing so would surely dishonor her master, so the young Uchiha decided she would just ignore him no matter what. Rosutoichi was now officially dead in her mind, and it would remain that way until she deemed otherwise. The words that Kazuto spoke would be the only thing that drew her attention, everything else was just white noise to her.

"Ah..right.”

The girl would say softly as she held the kunai tightly within her left hand. Her eyes looked over the blade for a quick second, she had never purposely drawn blood from herself, but she was sure it would be too bad. Many would think that giving blood to summon something or someone was shady business, and honestly it wasn’t far from it, but Kazui trusted the words and actions of her master, and so if it was safe to do so by his word, then she would follow along.

As the man kneeled down before her, he would take ahold of her hand and the kunai for a moment before handing it back to her before directing her to slowly slide it across her finger. A quick nod of her head and a deep breath was all it took, the Uchiha closed her eyes for a brief moment before the pricking of the blade was felt on her finger, she slowly dragged the blade down before removing it. Once she opened her eyes, she saw the crimson run down her finger and she then went on to sign her name on the available slots right behind Kazuto’s.

"There..”

The girl said before placing the small cut in her mouth for a quick second to stop the bleeding. Once the bleeding stopped, the girl would gently shake her hand before going on to ask.

"So..what’s next?”

"Now." Kazuto announced as he rolled the scrolls and tossed it back to the black wolf. He turned to his apprentice with a grin. "I'll teach you how the summoning technique." He said as he would show her his hands, feeling strange at having to put his hands together to weave signs after doing so with only one hand for the longest time. Slowly he showed her each of the signs so she would be able to do it herself. As he ended the technique she turned to the girl, sure that she had seen everything and had memorized all steps without much instruction. "Now before you summon, you need to offer blood, a drop would do, otherwise the technique won't work." He said as he tone turned more serious. "With your current chakra levels, I think you should be able to summon the tracking wolves or perhaps Asari." He instructed, leaving clear that the higher the power of the summon, the more chakra she would have to spent to summon it, making sure that she would understand that she could not simply summon the strongest wolf available. He supposed that there was time for him to explain about the very nature of the wolves that she had just signed a covenant with. "When you summon the wolf, you will need to fight whomever you summon." He quietly before he would point out to Rosutoichi. "I summoned him on my first try, I had to fight him and that's why he listens to me." He said, with the wolf scoffing the remark before returning to sleep. "The wolves respect martial strength and fighting them will make them respect you, once that is done, you won't find more loyal allies than them." Kazuto concluded before he would turn towards her. "So, any questions? Doubts?"

"Hai”

Kazui would respond as she watched Kazuto roll the stroll up, tie it, and toss it back at that wretched wolf by the name of Rosutoichi. As the black wolf proceeded to catch the scroll in his mouth, Kazui’s attention was returned back to her master. Summoning technique? That seemed a little tough for her, but she would definitely give it a try. As she stood across from the Senju, her focus would turn toward Kazuto’s hands as she had watched him weave a set of hand seals, and as she did so, she would try to mimic the hand seal he performed. ’There, done.’ She would think to herself as she held the final seal, awaiting instructions from her master.

"A drop of blood...okay.”

The girl would say as she slowly released the final seal and looked at her finger. The blood was nearly dried up and the wound was beginning the healing process. Kazui slowly dug her teeth into her thumb and watched as crimson ran down her finger yet again.

"Understood, master.”

Kazui would say in regards to summoning tracker wolves due to her chakra levels. It made sense that the stronger the summon was, the more chakra it would take to summon them. And at this point in time, the amount of chakra that Kazui has wouldn’t be quite enough to summon a super powerful summon. She could try but the outcome would surely be less than ideal. As she was about to finish her summoning jutsu, the words of her sensei brought her to a halt. She would have to fight whoever she summoned? ’I don’t want to fight the wolves.’ She would think to herself, but she knew she had no choice but to go through with it. A sigh escaped her lips as she spoke.

"Hai!”

And with that she would proceed to place her hand on the ground to finalize the summoning jutsu. A proof of smoke filled the air as she said the words.

"Kuchiyose no Justu!”

But as the smoke cleared the only thing that was present among the three of them was disappointment. Nothing was there, not even a baby pup. The thought of failure filled the girl’s mind as she turned to look at her master, a look of disappointment on her face.

"Did I do something wrong?”

’Or am I just that weak?’ She would ask herself as she looked over her hands. Was her chakra that weak that she couldn’t summon anything?

[Senju Kazuto]

Kazuto stood expectantly as she watched his apprentice perform the hand seals, arms crossed over his chest as she slammed her hand into the soil of the training area and he held his breath, awaiting to see a wolf but instead of anything that resembled a wolf he would only find disappointment as there was nothing, not even a pup. As the girl would look towards him with disappointment in her voice he would turn to meet her before the black wolf barked a laugh behind them. In that instant, the Senju would turn towards his summon, narrowing his eyes in anger at the dire wolf. "Quiet, Rosutoichi." Kazuto hissed causing the wolf to whine in fear before he turned to his apprentice with a more benign look on his face. "Relax, you're a genin." He told her in a more conciliatory tone as he placed his hand over her shoulder to reassure her. He still needed to remember that despite how advanced her training was she still was a young kunoichi making her first steps into a larger word. So she was bound not to excel at everything and that was find. He would press his fingers into her shoulder as a way to tell her that he wasn't upset and that she should not give up just yet. "This is normal, you need to relax first and visualize what you intend to summon, try to use as much chakra as you can. As much as your strongest technique would allow you." It was the best advice that he could give her at the moment. He had learned to summon at an older age than her. As he released his hand from her shoulder, he stood back and smiled at her with a nod. "Once more Kazui, take a deep breath, you can do it. I believe in you."

At this point all the ridiculing that the Wolf was doing was old news to Kazui, so instead of reacting in anger like she would normally do, the girl just ignored his presence all together, to her there was only Kazuto and herself in the area. But even with Rosutoichi drowned out of her mind, she was still feeling down. She felt weak, inferior, and felt as if she were wasting her time. Kazuto approached closer before placing his hand over her shoulder. He explained that everything was okay, that she was a genin, and that it was okay to fail once or twice.

Kazui clenched her fist tightly as she mumbled behind gritted teeth.

"I..I tried with everything I had.”

The girl would say in a soft whisper. She understood that she was a genin of course, but she felt as if she were inferior to other genin. She wanted to be the best that she could possibly be, and the girl knew that if Kazuto was teaching her this technique then she surely had the capacity to master it. A sigh escaped her lips as she looked up to her mentor and nodded in agreement. She would give it another try, hopefully this time it would work.

"Hai..”

Kazui would say as she watched Kazuto step away from her and cheered her own to try once more. The girl closed her eyes and took in a deep breath. ’Just focus, and give it your absolute best.’ She would think to herself. Quickly Kazui would begin to weave the few hand seals, and once she gathered up enough chakra she would place her bleeding hand onto the ground and exert as much chakra as she could into the technique.

"Kuchiyose..no JUTSU!!”

She screamed as the chakra began to weaken her body. A puff of smoke would fill the air, and once it cleared, there stood a small wolf at the ready. Kazui would jump up in excitement, but would fall to her knees once she realized just how much chakra she used. She wasn’t used to it, perhaps she still needed more practice.

[Senju Kazuto]

The Senju would step away and look with her eyes as the girl would try again, hoping that she had heeded his words. He closed his eyes and prayed to whatever deity that would heed him to aid her as she would try to summon a wolf, any wolf. As he heard the all too familiar sound of the technique and the hiss of the cloud of white smoke that would be normal with the summon, he would open his eyes and hope that she would have been successful this time and as he did, he realized that his faith and belief were rewarded as he saw a wolf pup tilting his his head to a side as the girl would fall to her knees excited about having managed to summon something. As a smile would appear on his lips as he closed the parting smoke and leaned close to the pup, petting it on the top of the head before the wolf would scamper towards the girl, seeking the pull and solace of its summoner. As he would allow the girl to recover, Kazuto knelt next to her and placed his hand on her shoulder with a smile to reassure her. "Well done Kazui, well done indeed." He said as his hands moved towards his pouch and retrieving a chocolate bar, taking her hands and giving it to her. "Take a bite, you'll feel better." He told her and kept his sight on the girl. Pride glinted on his eyes as he would hope for her to feel better, perhaps not at full strength but less void than how she felt now. Again he brought his hand at the top of her head, the headband that she had received from him. The steel plate of the headband still polished to a good sheen. "We need to work on expanding your chakra supplies, don't we?" He told her with a smile.

As the girl fell to her knees she would see a tiny pup standing before her. She was a bit confused, she used a lot of her chakra for only a small pup to be summoned. A lot of things were running through her mind at this moment as she tried to catch her breath and regain her chakra. The girl’s breathing was heavy as dark hues watched the pup prance over towards her and jump onto her lap, while this happened she felt a familiar hand on her shoulder. It was Kazuto congratulating her on giving it everything she had. Kazui would turn her head to face her master, a faint smile broke through onto her face as she tried her best to remain serious like Kazuto himself. The girl soon began to giggle and laugh childishly as she petted the pup’s fur. She was excited that it actually worked even though she felt fatigued for putting all of her chakra into summoning it.

"What’s his name?”

Kazui would ask as Kazuto offered the girl a chocolate bar to help regain her energy. She would grab a hold of the candy and proceed to eat the chocolate bar little by little, her attention however remained on the puppy before her. The girl’s mind continued to race, this time out of excitement. If the pup didn’t have a name yet, she wanted to name him herself. As fast as she found herself beginning to lose concentration, the hand she once felt on her shoulder would be placed onto the top of her head. The girl would pout and slightly swat at Kazuto’s hand as it ruffled her hair.

"Master Kazuto, I’m not a kid anymore.”

She would say softly as she tried to fix her hair and make it neat once again. It was kind of annoying, but she didn’t exactly hate it, it was like having an older sibling around, she couldn’t complain about that. While he was right on the fact that they would need to work on expanding her chakra levels, she felt as if it could wait, but still the girl would nod her head and agree with her mentor.

"Hai..”

The girl would mumble gently.

"Right so..." Kazuto replied at the comment of her not being a child any longer. Even if she would grow up he would still see her as that little girl that tugged from his robes and asked him to train her. Yet he understood that his greatest task as a teacher would be letting his student go and fly on her own. It was something that he had never truly experienced as a teacher and while he could not say that he was looking for when the time came, but he would have to steel himself for when that time came. As he turned to see the pup, he would try to determine its parentage by simply looking at him. He would pet the wolf cut as he considered, he wasn't about to ask Rosutoichi, after all the wolf wasn't exactly the most keen for a companionship among the wolves. It was, after all the only wolf that didn't lived with the rest of the wolves of the pack. The Senju would move his sight at the Uchiha before he would speak again. "I don't know his name. Can't say I have met this little guy." He as he noted that the wolf, picking up that they were speaking about him but not speaking at them. "Probably is a newborn. Usually wolves name their own and don't get summoned until they learn to speak... Well that's what I was told when i visited their woods." He told the Uchiha. Quietly, the wolf pup would coil and rest his head close to the Uchiha as it began to close its eyes to rest. "But I do suppose he will listen to you now, specially when he grows up." He said as he would begin to pet the wolf pup, the pelt being a dark brown. "Surely he will behave better than Rosutoichi."

"Hmph..”

The girl would pout as she continued to fix the black strands of hair that seemed to continue to get longer and longer by the day. Ever since her grandmother passed, she felt as if she wanted to turn over a new leaf and one of the things she wanted to change first was her hair. Once her hair seemed fine, the girl would readjust the headband that was gifted to her, ensuring that she was wearing it properly and that there wouldn’t be a risk of it falling off her head. Why did Kazuto insist on treating her like a kid? She didn’t know, but it was surely annoying having to fix her hair everyday.

The girl’s eyes returned to the pup for a moment as she watched the little guy sniff about. It was the cutest thing that she had even seen, way better than that other one whose name she’s already forgotten. Kazui would ensure that he wouldn’t turn out like the other one. A hand raised and was placed on the pup’s head and Kazui would begin scratching softly on the black fur as Kazuto spoke. He didn’t know his name, which meant he was probably really new. Unfortunately she wouldn’t be able to name him herself, according to Kazuto, the wolves normally named their offspring, which made sense.

"Oh..well…”

The Uchiha would start as she watched the pup curl into itself and placed its head right next to Kazui. The girl would lightly pet him behind the ear as he closed his eyes and began to rest.

"If he’s a newborn then wouldn’t his parents be looking for him, I’m sure they’re worried. How do I send him back?”

Kazui would ask softly as she looked up to Kazuto. She didn’t want to separate the pup from his family for too long, there had to be some sort of way to send him back to the woods where he was born. He may just be Kazui’s Rosutoichi in the future but until then she didn’t want to deprive him from family, something she knew oh so very well.

"I wouldn't worry much about it." Kazuto told his student. "Summons can only be with you for a time, depending on the chakra you spend in their summon." The Senju explained as he would pet the wolf pup. "I don't you think you've spend much chakra summoning him so surely he will be pulled back soon. I wouldn't worry about his parents, they will be understanding." Kazuto continued, reminding himself on how he had to fight his own wolf when he learned the summoning technique. In a way he was glad that Kazui didn't need to fight hers, with the pup being so young and more likely impressionable, his fight against Rosutoichi had been rather savage. And whilst the wolf respected his strength and skill and was somewhat fond of him, he couldn't say that the wolf was his friend. As he would look at this apprentice, he would allow himself to smile slightly. "You did well. Summoning an ally to battle is a difficult technique for someone of your age and skill." Kazuto told her, his hand reaching for the top of her head, seeking to mess her hair, but stopping before placing it on her shoulder as a form of recognition. He softly pressed his fingers on the flesh of her shoulders, perhaps this gesture would become a form of recognition between them from now on. "It will become easier with more practice and experience." As everything did, really. Rising to his full height, Kazuto would look at the two wolves, the older one that listened to him and the newborn that had never seen combat, but surely would see his fair share of battle as Kazui progressed and became stronger and stronger as she fulfilled the potential that he saw within her. "Now, would you like something to eat? I know it is a poor reward for learning such a technique, but at the very least we can celebrate, don't you think?"
