She couldn't help and laugh at Kazu's enthusiasm about working together with her. It was nice to be appreciated and even if the reason was a silly one it did make her feel good about herself cause of it. It did sadden her that one day they probably wouldn't be on a team together especially since he was a lot more experienced as a shinobi than her there might be a day when he would need to leave the team, but till that day she would make the best of his company.

Kohaku was a bit surprised by Kazu agreeing to her idea though. She felt he might be those males who wouldn't let the girl do all the work but instead saw ingenuity in her thought process. While she didn't like the full idea of him protecting her he was right it was good to make sure one of them was uninhibited in case something went wrong and honestly he was the more advanced shinobi in comparison to her. He would then take the lead and comment about how he would slow down if she needed him to which sort of lit a fire in her. If there was one thing she wasn't it wasn't slow so she had to retaliate with, "Speed is my specialty so you won't have to worry about me." Granted she would be dealing with a wheelbarrow and supplies, but she was confident she could handle the load and still keep up with him. After some time they would begin to arrive at their destination Hyozan Keep.

Kohaku laughed a bit, and Kazu couldn't really tell if it was at him or his statements. Either way, she was on the same team as him so it couldn't be malicious or anything like that. It did make him wonder how long he'd still be a Genin though. Though, Kohaku and Hizou could both become Chuunin too. He just wished Masahiko would still be his sensei. Nothing lasts forever though, not even their duo. For the time being, he was still on their team though. He'd make the best of it while he could.

Letting Kohaku do all the carrying wasn't really something Kazu wanted to do. He wanted to protest, but they were nearing their destination. So, at the very least it would only be for a little bit. The closer they got the more likely enemy attacks were and, while he trusted Kohaku, Kazu had more experience. Plus, one of them would need to guard the supplies if they were attacked anyways. He started stretching a bit before they headed off, now that the weight had been lifted off his back. "If we do happen to get ambushed or anything, it'll be your job to protect that cargo we got there. I'll do my best to keep any enemies off you, but if any get past me you should be able to handle it." He smiled reassuringly. She also commented that speed was her specialty, that was good since it wasn't his at all. Maybe he should do something about that soon.

Eventually, their destination was within sight. No enemies had attacked them yet at least. Maybe everything would go smoothly after all. "Alright, last stretch Kohaku, we got this!"

She couldn't help and appreciate his comment about being able to handle her own. Sure it very much could be a lie, but she had no reason to distrust him as of yet so she let the comment slide for now. Kohaku would joke back though saying, "Trying to butter me up before I become a damsel in distress I see." She would give him an almost snarky smile before adding, "We shall see whose protecting who in the long run." This was to show her determination at becoming better and better as she grew as a shinobi. Sure Kazu had experience over her, but give her enough time and she felt she could surpass him eventually.

As they got closer to the destination she was surprised to find there weren't any dangers happening it felt rather peaceful. Kohaku felt uneasy about how quiet the trek had been. Then again it wasn't like they were going to a different country or something, but still shouldn't there be something to block their way? A guard or even a random animal? It just felt too easy to her, but then again wouldn't it be better that way? Still, she couldn't help and ask, "Doesn't this seem too easy?" Kohaku hoped this wasn't an omen for things to turn bad, but she couldn't help her curiosity.

Kazu smirked at his teammate's comments. Surpassing him wouldn't be that hard, especially if he slipped back into his lazy habits. However, he did have one thing Kohaku didn't yet: Experience. The chuunin exams were sure to give some experience, but she wouldn't quite be at Kazu's level even then. They each had their own areas of expertise though. Kohaku was significantly better with weapons than Kazu could ever hope to be. While Hizou was a much more diplomatic individual. Sure, Kazu was currently the strongest between them, but they all had a part to play. "We all have our part to play. You're a lot better up close than I am. Which is why it makes sense for you to guard the cargo. If any enemies come for it, you'll definitely be in close range." He explained. The one thing experience gave him a lot of was tactics.

Kohaku was right though; this was way too easy in comparison to what the Genin was used to. Usually there'd be some kind of adversary at least. Whether it be bandits, criminals, or stray animals. With Kazu's luck, there was no way they'd just ended up getting really lucky. As if on cue, a couple snow wolves came out of the trees just before their destination. There were four, a bit too many for Kazu to prevent from getting to Kohaku. In this situation, he needed moves with a wider area of effect. He also had to be sure not to hit Kohaku either. Then again, if Kohaku needed experience maybe he should let her have a few. He'd make sure nothing bad happened of course, and probably come in near the end to take out a few. Yeah, that sounded like a game plan. "They're not too bad to deal with, I'd say you can handle this mostly by yourself don't ya think, Kohaku?" He grinned, forming a single hand seal as he used Shimogakure no Jursu [Hiding in Frost Technique]. Afterwards, he used Sun Tōketsu [Snap Freeze] to freeze one of the animals' legs to the ground. Kohaku should be able to deal with three animals with relatively no issue.

DESCRIPTION:

By gathering the moisture present in the atmosphere, the user produces visually clouding frost by causing the temperature of air to fall below the freezing point, effectively freezing any ambient water vapour in the vicinity. The frost allows the user to become transparent within it. Upon being struck with an attack, the user becomes visible. The mist is visible to the naked eye, but since the user is transparent it voids that sense. While it cannot fool the Byakugan, but, due to the frost being created with the user's chakra, any Sharingan-user will see the frost coloured by their opponent's chakra, which will effectively hide the user from the dōjutsu.





NAME: Sun Tōketsu [Snap Freeze]

DESCRIPTION:

Without needing a hand-seal, the user will create a single senbon ice needle in the palm of their hand and send it flying towards their opponent. When the ice comes in contact with a person or object, it will snap freeze whatever it touches in a half a meter radius. For example, if it comes in contact with an arm or leg, it will freeze the limb, same goes with a sword of Ninja tools.

There was some merit to his words and Kohaku couldn't argue against her comrade, but she couldn't help and jest and add, "Ever the team lead aren't you?" This was just her messing with him saying he had quite good leadership potential and she wouldn't be surprised if he eventually would teach a genin team himself. She sort of hoped he would so she could see how he would teach his future pupils. Though if that ever did happen she wouldn't know anytime soon and would have to wait and see how their lives would change in the upcoming years.

It was like fate had been waiting for her to make such a mistake and wanted to test their resolve and they would find themselves being attacked by a pack of wolves. "Great," Kohaku would say in annoyance believing her comment is what caused them to appear. The girl would look at Kazu as he spoke and soon disappear deciding to test her abilities by letting her deal with the situation herself. "Great!" Kohaku would yell in frustration as she took her bag and put it in the wheelbarrow before pulling out two shurikens.

She would throw one towards the center of the group of wolves then after a moment she would infuse her chakra into the second one and throw it right after the shuriken to use her crumbling star jutsu. This second shuriken would shatter the first one and sends shards of metal in a radius to hit the wolves. She would then quickly focus chakra into her hands and perform a single wind strike on two of the wolves pushing them back away from herself leaving her to only deal with one of the wolves. As the final wolf got closer she would focus more of her chakra into her arms and begin spinning and with her outstretched arms begin hitting the wolf with multiple hits like a twister.

Two shuriken are launched at the opponent, with a small interval between both. The second shuriken, however, gets to be infused with chakra, and has to be thrown with greater speed and force. Upon reaching the target's vicinity, the two shuriken clash and chakra is released, causing both to shatter, sending small bits of sharp metal shrapnel covering 2 square meters in radius.

DESCRIPTION:
While basic in nature, there is a very simple purpose to this justu. Pure offensive power. By focusing fūton chakra across the user's hands, this grants them a minor increased in striking power. Each attack coming with a sudden burst of wind trying to blow the opponent back. While unable to deal any significant damage quickly, if used over a long period of time during a fight and with precise enough aim by the user. It can cause some substantial damage, such as heavy bruising. However to use such a justu, after every attack, a new burst of chakra must be pushed through the user's fists in order for the justu to work.

DESCRIPTION:
Channeling a small amount of Fūton chakra into their body, the user spins rapidly on their toes using outstretched, fully-functional, arms to hit their opponent, hitting them a multiple number of times leaving small bruises in their wake. The user is able to keep spinning as long as they can, but the longer they spin, the dizzier and more disoriented they will be once they stop.

Kazu had a slight blush at Kohaku's comment. "Me? A leader? Nah I'm horrible at teaching." His statement would prove to be true as the wolves appeared. As opposed to guiding her on how to attack, he simply left her to her own devices. While that was a way of teaching in and of itself, it was nowhere near the way Masahiko taught. Therefore, in Kazu's mind it wasn't really a method of teaching.

He watched as she started, pulling out two shuriken. The first, she threw rather ordinarily. The second, however, she threw so that it came into contact with the first that she threw. It was a jutsu he recognized: the crumbling star jutsu. As the second came into contact with the first shuriken, the first one shattered into shards, some of which lodged themselves into the wolves. One of the wolves was incapacitated now, leaving her to deal with three. She got rid of two with a wind strike, leaving the leader of the pack. The next jutsu wasn't one Kazu recognized, but she looked like a small tornado. The wolf was much more difficult than the other three though, it went straight for her legs. 

Realizing how the situation could go bad rather quickly, Kazu made a single senbon ice needle and aimed it directly at the wolfs front legs, once it hit, the wolves front legs froze. It was one of his signitiare moves: Sun Tōketsu [Snap Freeze]. Once that was done, Kazu would appear out of the frost he was hiding in. "Can't let you have all the fun." He'd say as she dealt with the remaining wolf. "We should get into the city fairly easily now. If there were wolves out here, an enemy attack is fairly unlikely.

"Usually the best leaders are those who don't think they are the best leaders," Kohaku would say with a smile. This was a true statement in her mind if any sort of history was correct. Those who made the best were those who didn't think they were qualified because they didn't have an ego that would cloud their judgment and from what she could tell Kazu certainly didn't have one. Well, at least not an inflated one that is. "Besides I said leader, not teacher those are two different things," Kohaku would add to her previous statement.

She would take care of the majority of the wolves by herself but the last one was a stubborn one who wouldn't go down so easily. Her attacks not seeming to phase the wolf and gunning for her legs. She was reading to use her quick rotation jutsu to dodge the attack, but it was unneeded as Kazu would make an appearance and take care of it himself. His ice ninjutsu was still as fascinating as ever Kohaku still felt annoyance at him for leaving her alone to deal with these wolves that she couldn't help and say, "really had to leave the majority of them to myself did ya?" She wasn't that angry with him because she was able to take care of them, but it wasn't very cool of him to just leave her alone. Grabbing her bag back and picking up the wheelbarrow she would add, "Alright then let's finish this then." Kohaku would begin walking to their destination of the keep.

While Kohaku's statements about leaders weren't wrong, they didn't apply completely either. "While you aren't wrong, not thinking you'd be a good leader isn't what makes you one necessarily. There's a lot more factors than that one thing." He would finish, before addressing her next comment on the same topic, "Yes, but if you're a leader you're also expected to help those you lead grow, and train them yourself if necessary. It also depends on how high up you are in the totem pole so to speak, but you start at the lower levels regardless." Perhaps Kohaku hadn't realized that yet, she hadn't been out of the academy for too long after all.



Kohaku had taken care of the majority of the wolves, with Kazu stepping in for the last one just to avoid any injury. She likely could have handled it, but he wasn't one to take chances. At her comment, he responded. "I like to know my teammates capabilities. I'd rather learn that while we're up against wolves than a different, more dangerous situation. Plus, I'm a strategist. It helps the team in the future if I can take account of everyone's skillsets in my strategies. Not to mention I was still here the whole time, if you needed me that bad, I'd have stepped in with something that was a lot more vicious than that attack." It might not ease her annoyance, but Kazu did have legitimate reasons for doing these things.



Eventually, they'd arrive to their destination with no more issues from wildlife. After dropping off the supplies, they simply had to head back to the village.

It seemed when it came to how leadership and teaching went the two of them would differ in opinions which was to be expected of individuals. They each had their viewpoints on things and it wasn't like it was a fight for their differing opinions so it wasn't that bad of a thing for them. It wouldn't create a rift between their teamwork and besides even if it did Kazu was certainly going to rank up out of the team before Kohaku would so if it had affected their teamwork it wouldn't be for long.

When it came to the conversation about the wolves though Kohaku did stare at Kazu in disbelief for a second. For one the fact he placed so much faith in her was astounding especially since she was so new to being a shinobi in comparison, but also because he described himself as a strategist which was a leader by definition. They guided their team and made sure the best outcome came from the battleground so this was completely different from what he said earlier about being a leader. Was he simply blind to the word leader and just felt it didn't pertain exactly to him, but preferred the strategist connotation? Weird. Whatever it wasn't like it was that important to address that to him as Kohaku was still a tad bitter from the whole situation anyways.

They would make it to their destination of the fort not long after their conversation and would drop off the supplies as requested in the mission statement. Once completed they would both head their way back to the village not running into any more dangers as they did on the first trek. This time also unburdened by the delivery they would make it back a lot faster than when they made their way to the keep. Mission completed.
