Jou certainly thought that Yoshiko had a point. He never considered how a lot of the jutsu that exists in this world are potentially the byproducts of mistakes and weren't even truly thought out. This certainly widened Jou's perspective, evident by the curious look on his face. This only reminded the young Himishi of how creative one can be, using their own mistakes to craft something new and unique. "I've...never thought about it like that." Jou added. Jou certainly hasn't done anything like that in the past, not even with cooking. Hell, now he was thinking about the kinds of food that may have been crafted entirely by accident, yet becoming widely well known today. Fortunately, Jou did not stick to these thoughts for long and was able to get right back to focusing.

The young Himishi was able to pull the jutsu off on his second try! He watched the dummy be set on fire and a grin slowly started to form, one of pure joy at the sight of his success! He did not say anything but quickly looked over at Yoshiko as if he wanted to make sure she saw what he was able to pull off. This was certainly not Jou's first time successfully learning a jutsu, but it sure brought back memories of the actual first jutsu he was able to learn, not counting what he learned in the Academy. Yoshiko's words of praise only made Jou happier, but the moment she mentioned others not taking advantage of this, his smile got a little sheepish. "Oh, right." It completely slipped his mind that this was supposed to be an open training session of sorts. But now he was sort of questioning why no one else came. He assumed that coming from someone like Yoshiko, other genin would've come running. She even has muffins!

Well, at least he was able to get Yoshiko all to himself for today...and the thought of that caused the poor boy to fluster a bit because of how such a thought could be misinterpreted if he had said it out loud...Thankfully, Jou wasn't a blabbermouth!

"Heh, you're right..." Jou said with a bit of a nod before getting his hands ready. "Let's do it, sensei!" he added with a bit of enthusiasm before bringing his attention to the remaining dummies. Jou focused on the dummies on his side and started weaving the hand seals, at this point showing zero signs of error. The fire that spewed out of his mouth was also nearly perfect. He did it over and over, making sure to get every dummy...while focusing to make sure he doesn't burn the place down. He peeked over at Yoshiko to see how she was doing as well, and to also make sure that he was still doing this correctly.

Though as Jou continued, there were clear signs that he was starting to wear out as his breathing started to grow heavy, beginning to look like he was going to fall over with a tired look on his features. Jou was unfortunately not born blessed with large chakra reserves nor does he have proper chakra control...which was something else he needed to work on.

A Lesson in Fire

Noting her student's heaving breath and tiring body, Yoshiko would go into her pro-mode to wrap this up. In order to get this done faster, she'd not only push the speed of her seal weaving. The Jounin would also begin using her trade art of single hand seals, allowing her cast with one hand as her other hand began to recast the technique. As a Nohime she was gifted with incredible chakra control, but as the leader she was truly one of the most elite in the art.

With all her efforts and what little the Himishi could still put in the two would be able to wrap up destruction of the dummies. Nothing would need to be put away, so that'd be a much nicer outcome than carrying all those splinter hazards back to a storage locker. Granted they might of had a better way to learn this technique without ending the wooden soldiers careers. Some of the fun of katon though was that destructive power. It always unsettled the brunette to an extent though, she had a bit of a sweat not provoked just from fires heat. Memories of her own failure and the katon that sundered her.

"You've done an amazing job Jou! Anytime you need assistance you're more than welcome to seek me out. I'd love to give you another lesson." Yoshiko would explain to the genin, before she'd perform a couple hand seals and pat the genin's shoulder. She'd surge her doton chakra over to him and reduce the weight of his body. Not enough to fly as that'd be a bit of terrifying learning experience tired. However the difference in weight would leave the boy feeling as though he was light as a mouse and thus the walk back home would be the easiest.

Seems like Jou has reached his limit with the jutsu which was unfortunate since there still seemed to be quite a few dummies left. He really needed to work on improving his chakra control...or else he wouldn't get too far in the life of a shinobi.

Fortunately, it appears that Yoshiko has the rest under control. It was clear that Yoshiko still had enough in her to perform the jutsu whether it be from skillful chakra control or having massive reserves, Jou wasn't sure, but he was impressed nonetheless. But Jou's surprise didn't stop there. Not only was the jounin's hand weaving getting faster...but he could've sworn he saw her do some of them with only one hand as well! "A-Amazing..." Jou uttered under his breath. He had heard people being able to pull of one-handed seals, but never has he seen someone do it before in person...and with such skill! For a moment, Jou looked down at one of his own hands, trying to mimic what he saw at first, but was barely able to pull it off.

The young Himishi frowned a bit. His two-handed seals weren't all that fast...so to think he'd even be able to pull off anything with one hand any time soon would be silly....

Yoshiko's words brought Jou's attention back to her though, causing him to lower his hand. Her compliments and offer were enough to quickly get Jou out of his brief moment of discouragement, causing that frown of his to slowly form into a gentle smile. Whether Yoshiko knew it or not, she was really sweet, or at least that is what Jou thinks. Skilled, seemingly flexible when it comes to technique...yet gentle and kind.

"I-I'll remember that." Jou said, referring to the woman's offer. He really wouldn't mind learning under her. He didn't have a proper sensei...so this would probably be the closest to having one.

He watched Yoshiko weave more seals before placing a hand on the teen's shoulder, which made him blush faintly as he looked at her hand curiously, but the moment he felt the surge of chakra coursing through him, Jou would blink a few times. "Huh?"

Suddenly Jou felt...lighter? He bounced a bit, no longer feeling the fatigue drawing him down, and quickly put it together that this was Yoshiko's doing. He looked at her once more before bowing. "Thank you so much for the lesson, Yoshiko-sensei!" He said before glancing away. "A-And for being so kind..." he said before rising back up, giving her a small grin. Given Jou's life thus far...that kindness meant a little more to him than the jounin might have realized. He'd then turn to take his leave, but not before stopping and waving at the woman. After that he was off, already thinking about what else he could learn from her...and next time, he will be sure to bring her muffins!
