"Concentrate." Kazuto replied. "Clear your thoughts from any distraction. There's only you and the kunai. Nothing else. Not me, not the leaves, not the very tree." He said, hoping that he would follow the instructions. In reality there was little else that he could say. There wasn't any words of encouragement, guiding, but simply telling him that he was for all intends and purposes the imposition of his will unto an object. Even thinking it, Kazuto found the concept somewhat vague. But that was how he was instructed and it had worked for him so far. He would take a step back and give the man some distance. Niko had told me that people had opened a rift when their concentration had being overcome by despair, they had managed to open a rift into the void. He wasn't sure if she was trying to be funny or not, but he decided not to risk it and Keisuke might have a good use for the space he had given him. In the meantime, Kazuto would stand by himself. Closing his eyes and drawing breath from the section of forest they were training at. He attempt to reach out for the forest, try to see if he could pick up any of the subtle melodies of the bark and found just whispers from a forest that had seeing much but were seemingly unwilling to speak of the secrets. As he opened his eyes he would take a look at his left hand, and began, fingers moving like a blur, his hand tilting slightly forward of back as it spurred the chakra within himself. His life force stirred, the ground broke before him, grass breaking apart as a stick of wood emerged merely a blink after he had begun the technique and ended the sequence. There was some pride in him for that. Kazuto then moved on again, heightening the difficulty from one technique to the next as all were cast seconds between each other, hard pumping, muscles burning as one element after the other surrounded him. It wasn't perfect, it wasn't tested in battle but ease had come after much hard training and for that he was content.

Keisuke listened to Kazuto speaking telling him to concentrate, telling Keisuke there was only him and the kunai in his hand. While the instructions seemed pretty simple to understand he knew that it was harder said than done. Keisuke also knew that Kazuto could not really help anymore at this point in time and everything up to this point Keisuke would have to get on his own or fail. Though the learning could take many years to develop if he even got it at all though there had been promising signs when he developed his own seal as quickly as he did so hope might not be lost for Keisuke yet. With the kunai still in the man's hand, he felt the metal of its edge in his palm. Keisuke also still had his eyes closed and tried to just focus on the Kunai in his hands, he tried to empty his mind of other thoughts and processes just to contrate on the kunai in his hand. He touched all along its cold hard surface and even the wooden handle he felt the entire kunai in all its glory even though its surface was small it had so much to tell. So once again Keisuke had found himself in the position of using his free hand to try and apply his seal to the kunai once again, upon his free hand touching its surface he focused on the kunai and nothing else would enter his mind. What seemed like an eternity in trying to apply his seal to the kunai was only a matter of moments in real time. Upon opening his eyes again, he would remove his hand from the kunai to see once again that he had failed to apply his seal to the kunai once again. Keisuke didn't really react to failing again at the task just as he was about to say something, something then clicked in his mind, and he had an idea. " It can't be that simple can it..." Keisuke had said as an idea had come to mind in a method of applying his seal.

Keisuke would for now hold the kunai in a palm movement and was careful not to obstruct his movements in making hand signs as he would perform several hand signs as he did several shadow clones would be formed by him. Something seemed different about Keisuke as the man had a sharp focus in his movements and with a look in his eyes, he had not shown before. Something had clearly changed for Keisuke and his mind seemed free of restrictions as it had done before. The secret was that Keisuke had always pretty much since he had remembered used his shadow clones to help him learn as he found that was the best way to learn and using them always excited him that's why he was so good at using them. So, Keisuke's idea was simple instead of applying his seal to a kunai he would apply it to one of his shadow clones. It would serve the same purpose as his kunai in this instance. "So let me try this again." With the closest clone towards him he would reach out his arm towards its shoulder placing his hand on its shoulder and just like that without really trying all that hard he would place the seal on the shadow clone. Keisuke had no idea why he couldn't perform this the same way with the kunai as he understood that in time, he would need to use the kunai as well but for now, he had found a method while not the usual way he found it to be his way. "I know it's not how you explained to me, and I understand the methods of using the kunai as you explained but for now, this will be suitable till I can apply it to the kunai like I did the clone."

"No." The Senju said, raising his hand as the Hokage explained his idea. "With your current skill level of the technique jumping to something that big it would be dangerous." The technique itself required concentration and clarity of purpose, not to mention the distance and even if you brought large object or sentient beings would mean that opening the breach would increase the cost of chakra required to make each jump. "The target being larger would not help, this is why we're trying to make a smaller, safer jump. We don't want to risk the chance of splinching." He told the man. Splinching was another problem altogether. Leaving a part of oneself as they jumped from a point to the next wasn't a pleasant experience and if he could avoid it, he would like to keep Keisuke from experience that himself. "I know its not flexible. But you have to do that way. Have you consider what would happen if the clone vanishes? The mark would leave as well, and you would be trapped in that interstitial void. I couldn't even come to rescue you since that void is specific to each user." The training as it was, was risky enough, they didn't need to take unnecessary perils to advance this training. "Hard as it may be, you need to follow the steps that I told you, to the letter. This is not a technique to trifled with." The Kazuto said. If this was to create a conflict between the two, then so be it. But if Keisuke was to learn from him then it would be without taking short cuts and it would be by doing so by the book. "Dispel the clone, and try again, as many times as it takes." He said, crossing his arms before his chest.

The method that Keisuke wanted to help him learn the technique faster with him using shadow clones as a medium had really not gone down well with Kazuto, Keisuke understood Kazuto's concerns with the drawbacks of using clones in this manner and was a great risk for Keisuke to attempt something like this without even learning the jutsu in its base form and getting used to it before attempting any of his own changes to the jutsu. Keisuke would first listen to Kazuto explanation of using a larger object would not help him learn the jutsu any easier it was best that Keisuke learned everything he could from Kazuto properly and with the correct form before attempting any of his own changes. Keisuke decided he would listen to Kazuto's advice and try to learn the technique properly. Keisuke did not hold any disappointment toward's Kazuto and would remain calm. At the end of the day Keisuke should have been the one to apologize to Kazuto as he was not following Kazuto's teachings and trying to do things on his own. Keisuke had a habit at times to go off on his own or attempting things in another manner which wasn't always the proper way of doing things. This time though Keisuke would do as instructed and try to learn the technique properly without taking shortcuts at least until he was more comfortable with things.

" Fine I understand Kauzto, I will follow your teachings as you have instructed me to do so. " With that said towards Kazuto Keisuke would dispel the clone so it would vanish and his chakra would return to Keisuke. Now the kunai in hand again he continued to try and apply his seal to the kunai as he was instructed to do so beforehand. Keisuke would try again several more times to no avail, so this time he tried something else, and no he was not trying to take shortcuts like before this time the man would try to feel around the edge of the kunai he closed his eyes while doing so trying to feel the coldness of the steel against his skin and then would feel around the wooden handle rough to touch and without knowing too much about it he thought about training in his mind and the time back in the academy when he used a practice kunai for the first time and then for the first time he had used the real thing. Memories came flooding back of his childhood friend in his mind, a small smile came on Keisuke's face, and without knowing too much about it that warm smile of his friend in his mind helped him to relax and when Keisuke opened his eyes back to reality he looked down at the kunai in his hand and then there on the handle of the Kunai would be his seal applied to its surface.

"There is that what you meant Kazuto." As he showed Kazuto the kunai from Keisuke's hand. " To think childhood memories would help in this situation."

Kazuto didn't have any problem with thinking out of the box, with trying an unorthodox methods to learn new techniques. He actively encouraged the use of free thinking when he thought there was a benefit to it. With this technique he would not take such risks. Many, many things could go wrong if the mindset was not proper and he didn't want to be the one that told the village that their Hokage had died, nor he wanted to go looking for whatever organic goo of Keisuke remained if the technique had failed in the worst of all scenarios. The fact that Keisuke had tried to take a shortcut with the technique with lackadaisical care rubbed him the wrong way, it irked him in fact, but he decided to let it slide for the moment. It wouldn't do anything to raise tension with the man, but decided just to take note and allow the man to continue the training. He watched the Hokage carefully, making points of improvement and taking note of anything that had to be corrected. As the man seemed to end, the Senju took a step forward, plucking the kunai from the grasp of the Hokage as he inspected the inscription, flicking the tool until he found himself satisfied on the seal that had been laid on the steel. Yet, rather than returning the kunai, the Senju would casually flicked it away, the blade stabbing the bark of one of the trees in the meadow they used for their training. "It will do." Kazuto finally said, before pointing to the direction the kunai had gone. "Now you will try to jump to where the kunai is. If the seal was properly attuned then you will be able to jump." He explained. "It will require much concentration, and likely you won't do it in the first fifty tries."

Keisuke hoped he didn't leave a bad long-lasting impression on Kazuto. As Keisuke tried to use a different method to learn from the one Kazuto had instructed Keisuke to use in the first place. Keisuke had always tried to learn the best he could but ever since he learned to use shadow clones the man pretty much uses them for everything in his everyday life and this includes training, it could be that Keisuke has just developed a certain complex that causes him to think that using his clones is the only way forward. Training had always been easier for Keisuke using shadow clones as he is training with them upon them disappearing the original gathers all the information the clones had before disappearing and with Keisuke's processing mind he is able to gather information in real-time so is able to learn faster with this method. Though trying to learn a dangerous technique using this method had not been a wise decision from Keisuke and had probably done some long-lasting damage to Kazuto's opinion of Keisuke, though his intentions with his method were not bad or selfish he was just excited by the whole prospect of one learning from Kazuto and two learning something considered well-guarded something that Keisuke would respect and treat well even though upon first impressions it didn't seem that way.

Keisuke had to make sure going forward at least for the rest of Kazuto's teachings that he followed everything asked of him. With Keisuke having applied the seal of his to the kunai it didn't take long for Kazuto to step forward to Keisuke for him to take the kunai from his hand in order to inspect it. Upon inspection, for a few moments, it would be swiftly thrown in a forward direction in front of Keisuke as he watched its movements through the air. Kazuto then spoke saying to Keisuke his seal would do and instructed Keisuke that his next objective would be to jump to the kunai in front of him, assuming this would be the hardest part yet. So without wasting much time, Keisuke took a step forward with his sole focus looking at the kunai in front of him trying to focus his eyes on the handle at the point of his seal. Hoping that would produce the action of the man being able to teleport to the kunai in the distance, but it wasn't a shock to Keisuke that he remained stationary. The man didn't say anything as he kept trying to do as instructed from Kazuto with attempt after attempt ending in failure, even as much as Keisuke wanted to take a short cut he remained from doing so as his focus remained on the seal and kunai in front of him.

Kazuto remained quiet. Expectantly observing for Keisuke to do anything that would mean that he had succeeded. This was probably the most critical juncture of the training. This would determine whether or not the Hokage was meant to learn this technique or if they had spend all this time without any positive return. It was very much so a fifty/fifty chance at this point and given what he had seen he had some reservations that he kept only to himself. He would take a moment to lean against one of the trees in this particular part of the forest as attempt came after attempt. He had begun to nod off after time had begun to happen. Only coming back after he had almost closed his eyes and had allowed himself to fall asleep. Finding that the sun had fallen, casting longer shadows as day began to turn into night, Kazuto began to move towards the Hokage. "You lack determination and deliberation." He said in a matter of fact tone. "You're thinking in terms that just because my chakra is here and the mark is there I should jump. It doesn't work that way. It requires investment from your will to do so. You're trying to open a rift, move and then open another. There wasn't any easier way to put it. Only the confirmation that it required a supreme effort of concentration that he wasn't sure Keisuke could manage in this instance. He kept his distant watch, as he gave silence to the man to try to complete the attempt from actually being able to use the technique. Now it was all on the Uzumaki ad with his little bit of wisdom dispensed, the Senju simply watched and awaited.

Keisuke as he continued to work on trying to move to the marked target which would show that the man was capable of learning the technique this was probably the most crucial point in the training you either get it or you don't. At this point, it was leaning towards the not, but Keisuke was a determined man and would not give up that easily. Yet Keisuke had really lost track of the time as the late afternoon into evening started to set in around the two of them as time had definitely passed both of them by. Kazuto had been quiet for the most part while Keisuke tried to further his progress with the technique, but with no progress having been made, he would speak to Keisuke. Kazuto mentioned that Keisuke lacked determination and deliberation, he didn't feel this was the case, but it might be that some part of him did or maybe it didn't that subject was something for another time. Kazuto also mentioned that Keisuke was thinking about the technique wrong as he was trying to move his chakra from his location to the mark when he should be going about this in a different way. Keisuke was considered a smart man even if it didn't seem like it with his appearance or how he acts sometimes, but he got everything that Kazuto was saying to him. If it had been any other person then they might have given up or given it a pass, but this Uzumaki Keisuke never gave up.

Keisuke didn't have a problem with Kazuto, though his comments about lacking determination and deliberation, seemed like something personal attack aimed at Keisuke whatever the intentions of his words, it seemed to have spurred Keisuke on as he turned to face Kazuto. Before simply speaking for a second. "Lack of determination? I will show...." Before he finished what he wanted to say he turned his head as he was finishing his speech then Keisuke simply disappeared from view, of course, he had not disappeared he had moved locations and ended up at the mark that had been created with the Kunai a while back. Keisuke didn't really get what he had done, but knew might have been something with Kazuto's speech giving Keisuke a little push he needed or getting himself rallied up. Either way, it had worked and Keisuke had opened a portal and successfully moved to the mark. After doing so while excited by this newfound development, Keisuke would feel the drain on himself it was something he had not felt before. The technique's first usage had to it out on him, and Keisuke kind of felt weird as well. Kazuto did warn Keisuke that using the technique would bring side effects using it in the short term till he got used to it. Keisuke would lean against the nearby tree using it so he didn't fall over or anything and to cash his breath. " You wasn't kidding about the after effects...."

"Weren't." Kazuto corrected Keisuke, finding a stump where to sit, resting his chin on his knuckles as he observed the strain that opening the rift had caused the Hokage with mild interest before his eyes moved to the rift that had been opened, the jagged edges of a whole into another dimension undulating erratically, contracting and expanding at the same time before the portal settled and began to shrink until it disappeared with an undulation that distorted space slightly, until reality returned to a state of normality. "That was ok, it should have been a little bit more stable." It was slow progress, but progress nonetheless. But he had seen faults, distractions, almost imperceptible for anyone but the most observant. With a sigh he would raise to his feet, looking at the man until he would clear his throat. "Lose the glasses and the cape." Kazuto instructed, his voice unshaking in his request. "They're distractions, your mind is not calm enough, not clear enough of what you need to do." He added. "Nothing exist out of this forest, just the technique you need to master." He would need to do it without items that could disrupt his chakra. "Once more, we will continue to make the rift more stable and smaller, until you interiorize in yourself and you can teleport without the rift being visible." Kazuto explained.

The after-effects of using the flying thunder god for the first time seemed to be playing on Keisuke as it had made him feel sick, his head hurt and it clearly worked your chakra reserves, but the Hokage could go on as he used a few moments to ready himself to go again, he took some deep breathes of clear air to fill his lungs and was ready to carry on. Keisuke would first listen to Kazuto explain his first time using the technique saying that it should have been more stable, but considering his first time using it had been a decent attempt at least in Keisuke's book, but decent wasn't going to cut it when it came to Kazuto as he demanded perfection understandable from someone with his history something Keisuke did not object to as he demanded that Keisuke to lose his cape and glasses as it causing the Hokage distractions, while that was Kazuto's opinion, Keisuke would do as he was told taking a second to remove his cloak and glasses simply tossing them to the ground like it didn't matter. "There it is done...." He said before nodding to Kazuto in response to his demands for only mastering the technique and nothing else mattered at this moment in time, the forest, Keisuke, Kazuto, and the technique he needed to perfect from the teacher.

Kazuto further explained that the more times they used the technique between them they would try and make the portal smaller and smaller until it disappeared from view, which seemed to be a secret behind its usefulness, though coming with a great strain on chakra reserves lucky for Keisuke he was an Uzumaki so had lots of energy to continue. Once again he pulled the specially marked Kunai from the stump on the tree as he threw the Kunai once more so it hit the tree far in front of him. This time concentrated on the mark on the Kunai as another portal would start to form in front of the man while this time it seemed a little more stable it still needed more effort and at least it had been formed without the need to rile Keisuke up. Once again he moved into the portal and appeared at the location of the thrown Kunai. "More....." Keisuke said to himself as he threw the Kunai across the same distance back into the tree across from him again as he began to form a new portal, this time he would make it stable as he focused his chakra.

This Hero’s presence is an ability that stems right from Keisuke’s own chakra and with how the man is around others. The man believes that he is a real hero, even though a lot of that is self-proclaimed. His belief that he is a real hero has created something truly special for Keisuke. He has developed a special aura, that stems from his hero "energy” [chakra levels]. This aura can be seen by others, though it can only really be seen clearly when he is in the thrill of battle believing he is a true hero. Out of battle his aura is faint but is sometimes present if he speaks of his hero-like desires. Those who witness his aura ‘might’ believe in him for just a second, whilst they will often deny they believed anything. The doubt is in there minds. In the presence of friends and allies, his aura will truly be seen. Kazuto nodded in approval to the effort as the finesses was still lacking. Although with more repetitions the more the edge became stable and the smaller the rift was. Perhaps a few more tries and he could allow Keisuke to try to do a jump of his own without the risk of being split or worse yet, lost in the midst his own void world and truth be told, the Senju would like to avoid to give explanations or where the man had been lost. He needed to see a little bit more however, before allowing such a try. "Continue doing that." He told Keisuke. "By the time the circle is not visible, then I will allow you to try to make the jump." He said, quietly before turning once more to Keisuke. "When you manage to shrink the rift into nothingness, you need to keep it present in your mind. You will, in essence, threading yourself into a whole of a needle and then reappearing wherever you place your mark." There was more to that off course, but that was the simplest explanation that he could come with. And perhaps that was the best way to continue the training.

Keisuke needed to get the void smaller and smaller as he tried to focus on doing it with the currently formed void before him as he tried to calm his mind and focus his chakra on making it happen. He listened to Kazuto further with his explanation given to Keisuke about how making the void seem it wasn't present before him by making it that small it was unseen by the eye, then using the same tiny void to make the jump, Keisuke understood why the void needed to be small now, so that others could not see it and try to replicate the effects of the jutsu and understand the reasons to keep it secret. So for now Keisuke continued to work towards trying to get the void smaller and smaller with his current attempt. After doing as much as he could with the current attempt he left the portal disappear and then walked over to get the kunai from across from him before throwing it in the opposite direction once more so that he could try all over again. He kept on repeating this motion over and over as the portal grew smaller and smaller the edges firmer and stronger each time he performed the attempt at the void until it grew as small as a small round object. Keisuke was nearly there with the desired requirements, though the repeated attempts of trying to perform the void were beginning to have an effect on his chakra reserves even as someone with great chakra like himself, it was beginning to affect him as he panted and tried to maintain the portal. As his chakra tried to stay active for the void portal, it was beginning to fade until he lost control of it and it faded.

" Damn it...." Keisuke said in frustration as he was nearly there and his chakra was getting on the lower side as each attempt had caused him to deplete it further and further even more so as it was wasting chakra trying to control and maintain the portals so was probably using a lot more than it would normally be, but all part of learning. In response, Keisuke paused for a second before reaching into the pouch attached to his body and pulling out two chakra pills before swallowing them pretty much whole as he allowed a few moments for the chakra pills to work he felt his chakra surging through his body as he recovered some lost chakra and felt that he could go on, so doing the same process as before he set up the kunai and got the void formed and managed to make it smaller than a small ball as he concentrated on pushing through the final point.

Kazuto wasn't exactly impressed with the progress. It didn't had anything to do with the effort that Keisuke was doing, if he had to grade him for that rubric alone, the man might as well get top marks. It was simply that he wasn't making the progress that he required which made him wonder if he would need to take a more drastic measure to make him do a jump or allow him to continue the exercise in its current form. Making a deicision on the matter, the Senju would clear his throat to get the attention of the Uzumaki. "Stop." He added, raising a hand. "We're not making the needed process. We will need to take some more drastic measures." He explained, arms behind his hand. "My former ANBU Commander once said that danger brings the best of us in combat. This also goes into training." He said and placed his hand on the Uzumaki's shoulder and the two jumped away once more, leaving the forest behind, coming to the cold peak of a mountain that didn't had any road that reached the peak and a sheer drop that met them. "I have the knife that you used engraved your chakra. You need to jump to it. If you stay here the cold and the air depravation will kill you." He said, jumping away without giving him a time to ask questions, retreating to the base of the mountain and tossing the knife into the trunk of a tree, giving Keisuke five minutes to accomplish this before he would be forced to rescue him. "Might need to start a fire soon." He said and began to gather firewood to at least give Keisuke a warm welcome, so to speak.

Keisuke continued to try to make the jumping circle even smaller which seemed to be working, but as he continued to work on this Kazuto forced him to stop which Keisuke did wondering what he had done wrong. Kazuto then explained to Keisuke that he was not making the needed progress so other steps would need to be taken for Kaede to make some more progress even using the word drastic. Someone that made Keisuke a little worried, but something that he would overcome as he always did in his life. Kazuto then told Keisuke that danger always brings out the best in combat and the same with training. It was clear when Kazuto transported them both to the peak of a tall mountain that the temperature suddenly changed and it was very cold. It was apparent now that Kazuto was going to add danger to the training to increase its effectiveness, giving Keisuke not much choice but to make the jump for the kunai stuck in the bottom of the tree as Kazuto explained to Keisuke exactly what he had been thinking, but the price for failing was death.

Keisuke took a deep breath after looking over the mountain edge to see that it was a steep fall to the ground below. He could see roughly where Kazuto had transported himself to, just Keisuke had to make the same jump now. The coldness of the air around him came onto his skin as did the snowfall as it came down from the sky above. Keisuke would then start to breathe a little heavier than before as the water vapor from his breath appeared in the cold wind before him. He used his hands to start to form a portal again this time it didn't appear to be there hoping he still had the chakra required to perform another jump, but nothing appeared even a small portal as he had done so prior in front of Keisuke nothing but the sheer drop from the mountain edge in a leap of faith he trusted that he had formed the portal and would appear with kunai in hand next to Kazuto or he remains splattered in the valley before him.

Keisuke had managed to make the jump as he appeared next to the kunai with it in his hand next Kazuto, Keisuke had been on that mountain only a matter of moments but felt tired from the jump his body felt numb as he simply smiled at Kazuto, before falling to the ground pretty tired for chakra loss due to repeated and failed jumps over and over again. Keisuke lay on the ground barely able to move hoping he had done Kazuto proud, even though he had been a pain at times to train.
