It took Sora less than a second to realize something was wrong. Every inch of her body felt off, as if she had somehow just fell into a vat of thick goo that resisted motion; she knew her heart was beating but couldn’t feel it, knew her lungs were working but couldn’t sense the breath against her nostrils, couldn’t feel at all despite the adrenaline coursing through her veins. She had no idea what the issue was, how it had happened or what to do about it, but there wasn’t time to puzzle it out; Kuni was speaking, her hands flashing through seals as she summoned, of all things, a crocodile and ordered it to-

To flood the cavern. Shit.

Instinct pushed the Jounin to move, her arms and legs obeying despite the lack of feeling; she leapt to her right, towards the crocodile, Samidare between her and Kuni’s extending arm (and wasn’t that a creepy sight) as she tried to dodge the blow. Whatever was messing with her sense of touch interfered though, and what ought to have been a clean escape instead became a painful blow against her left shoulder, the punch cracking bone in a spike of pain as she slid through the rapidly rising water…

And could feel again.

"You think this is about a comment?" Sora snarled as the Taki-nin charged her, chakra pooling in her feet and through her blade as she exploded off at an angle, flying away from Kuni but closer to her summon- and swung her weapon, one handed, at the beast that was flooding the room, the Saber Jutsu slice arcing through the building water. No matter how fast the thing was, it wouldn’t be fast enough to dodge that, not without stopping its jutsu. And that would be good enough for now.

The Jounin came to a halt about ten meters from where she’d been, skidding through the water as she used the last of her momentum to whirl around and face her opponent. Her shoulder ached, but it didn’t mean anything. Not to her. She had taken far, far worse and kept going.

"You threatened my dead family five seconds after we met. Threatened to rip my heart out because I annoyed you, then tried to tie me down with those weird tentacle things!" Her voice was hoarse, not from exhaustion but emotion- because she had made her choice. Kuni was dangerous, yes. Kuni was broken, yes. Kuni was, potentially, insane. But that didn’t mean she couldn’t try saving her. But first, she had to reach her. And it was clear, Kuni respected only one thing: Strength.

And there was only one way to prove who was stronger.

"If anything, you’re the one who can’t handle a damn comment! One bit of pushback and you try to murder an allied Shinobi for telling you the truth." Sora sheathed Samidare and took a half-step back, entering a draw stance as she spoke, watching Kuni. Her hands came together to form three seals, pain flaring in her shoulder as Raiton chakra flowed into Samidare, building pressure in the sheath. The moment the Tokubetsu Jounin moved, she’d draw, unleashing her Jutsu… and cutting through anything, stone walls included, that was between it and her.

DESCRIPTION: A powerful technique capable of cutting through solid steel like paper, Shishi Sonson coats the users blade from tip to hilt in Raiton Chakra while the user holds it within the saya, building pressure within until the user draws the blade in a flash of extreme speed and power. The ensuing cut extends out quite a bit further from the tip of the blade than normal (up to 15 meters), and is supremely lethal if it connects anywhere vital, though its strength does wane the further out you get, with the leading tip making shallower cuts, while just a meter down it cuts a deep gouge into even sturdy materials.

The technique, like many Iaijutsu, is limited in its use, having to issue out from the side that the user draws their blade from, which makes it predictable. Additionally, the technique takes a brief moment to charge, thus essentially announcing to any informed combatant what the user is about to do, making it impractical for use as anything other than an opening move.

Special Abilities:
The Kunoichi That Goes On And On And On… [Endurance SA]
Perhaps part of her genetics or simply a random quirk of fate, Sora is unnaturally resilient, be it to physical pain or the toils of extended combat. While most Shinobi would collapse in exhaustion at having used all but the smallest sliver of their chakra reserves, she pushes on; while most Shinobi would wilt beneath the weight of sleepless night after sleepless night, she keeps going. This does not mean she does not feel pain/the strain of extended combat, but rather that her threshold for shutting down because of it is far higher than others. To give an example, if she were to be stabbed through her abdomen, she would still feel the pain of the injury, and it would hinder her ability to move/act, but it wouldn’t stop her, whereas a normal ninja might freeze up or shut down from the pain.

Bet You Didn’t See That Coming [Speed SA]
A byproduct of her enhanced endurance, Sora (despite what many would think) dislikes being injured- and with that dislike comes the intense desire to avoid getting hurt, a desire that has pushed her to hone her body until it could move faster than most others of her rank. In short, Sora is fast- very, very fast.

POWAH! UNLIMITED POWAH!! [Chakra Reserves SA]
After a lifetime of utilizing nearly every ounce of chakra in her body just to survive, Sora’s chakra reserves have expanded a considerable amount to compensate- while she’s no Jinchuuriki, her ability to toss out jutsu after jutsu and still have enough chakra to keep going is quite remarkable, a testament to just how much of the stuff she actually has.

I Am Not Left-Handed [Kenjutsu Mastery SA]
Sora is not merely a Kenjutsu specialist- she is a master when it comes to the art of the sword; after over two decades of training, her skills are unrivaled within Kirigakure, falling short only to the Seven Swordsman themselves… some of them, anyway. This mastery allows her a distinct advantage when fighting other Bukijutsu specialists of similar or lesser rank.

Beyond being a master of Kenjutsu, Sora has practiced for decades to become the faster swordswoman she can be. As such, her Kenjutsu techniques come out faster and move quicker than those performed by others of her rank.

Whatever metal and forging process was used in the creation of Samidare, it worked; Samidare is utterly unbreakable by most any means, capable of being engulfed in an S-Rank Jutsu and remaining unscathed. Though it is possible that the blade could potentially be broken by a sufficiently powerful attack (such as, say, a Bijuu-dama), this has never been tested, so it is not known if it would survive.

Sharper Than Your Average Blade
Due to its nature as an unbreakable blade, Samidare bears a cutting edge that is of particular note, which allows it to slice through even steel with little in the way of resistance, so long as the proper force is applied. Additionally, this edge never needs to be resharpened, as it never grows dull or rolls, thus making it perfect for frontline combat.

Light as Spring Rain
Perhaps a quirk of its forging (or perhaps an intentional feature), Samidare is considerably lighter than a blade its size and length ought to be; while this would normally result in a less effective weapon, Samidare loses none of its integrity or cutting power, as it is somehow able to leverage the same amount of force through less mass. This lightness allows the user to swing the weapon about with much greater speed for the same amount of physical exertion.

Chakra Conduction
Being Chakra Conductive, Samidare is capable of channeling all types of Chakra for use in Bukijustu, and, more particularly, it has a slight affinity for Raiton chakra thanks to Sora’s constant use of the blade for that purpose. This affinity does not do anything of real note, but it does feel as if the blade were more eager to drink in Raiton Chakra than other types.

Evil Doesn't Die; It Changes Shape.

Things were beginning to heat up, Kuni felt intense aggravation towards Sora, she felt true anger. Anger only one had attained for now, but things were growing even worse to allow a second to earn her place deserving Kuni's full aggression. As she charged at the woman, Kuni was only in shock when once again, the woman moved at a frightening speed, this time toward Daichi. She could only yell at the summon using its name before a nerve in Kuni ticked. Daichi would immediately cease his jutsu, knowing full well Kuni would never say his name unless real danger was coming. As he growled at Sora, she unleashed another jutsu at the Croc this time. Kunikunosaku already warned Daichi so all she was doing was preparing now was weaving the three seals. Following Sora's path, Kuni wasn't at all trying to follow her, but more just keep her in range. Keeping her roughly within 5 meters within her range, Kunikunosaku stayed close to the floor as she watched Daichi run like a punk-ass bitch, stopping the jutsu for the time being to save himself, the girl simply flashed a half-thankful smile before turning back to full aggression as she was now face to face with Sora. "Fuck! I missed!" Kuni stated as she seemed to gain panic and frustration in her voice, before slamming her hands on the ground in front of her, in sync with the woman's prepping backstep. The current water level would make it difficult to seal the seal that had formed on the ground. But a circular seal formed under Sora's feet, binding her feet tightly to the ground.

If Kuni was successful in her timing, it would seem like a teenage tantrum, furthering the deception of the ploy she made, increasing the success chance of the Fūinjutsu. She was face to face with a preparing Sora. It could have been useful to use the same trick, but instead. Chakra pumped faster through her body, she stood up, faster than one in water should, staring as her movement would cause Sora to draw and use her jutsu. With jutsu-enhanced speed, Kunikunosaku would jump to the ceiling, activating the wall-walking jutsu to stick to the ceiling, theoretically avoiding the attack. She closed her eyes as she willed the three hearts she had to move erratically, making already hard targets even harder to hit. "Who're you calling kid? Don't you know Kunikunosaku is dead?" The Kunoichi outstretched her hand as three black clones formed from the threads ejected from her arm. Chakra formed at Kunikunosaku's voice. "You still don't know what it really means to suffer pain."

Chakra-laced words cast yet another genjutsu as two clones would rush the Jōnin, moving at top speed with the sole purpose to overwhelm Sora and distract her. "Who told you to stop?" The white-haired Kunoichi yelled as once again Daichi snarled from a corner before snapping his jaws, restarting the water Basin technique. While it resumed, the water was sadly still only shoe deep. Kunikunosaku tried to figure out how to stall Sora from overhead. Walking rapidly on the ceiling to her location. She simply watched as her clones began attacking Sora. Purposefully frowning so Sora would see a smile if she had time to even look at Kuni.

Jiongu | Earth Grudge Fear

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body
As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.

Power of a God:
After a great time learning how to control Jiongu, Kunikunosaku has learned to store chakra in each of her threads so long as they continue to be attached to at least one of her hearts. This extra storage capacity allows the girl to amass greater amounts of chakra within herself, expanding her reserves beyond that of the normal shinobi her rank. As with many other abilities, this ability continues to grow as the girl does through the ranks and years.

Cursed Master:

As a reward for attaining a greater deal of control over her symbiotic relationship with Jiongu, Kunikunosaku acquired the keys to the gate of mastering her abilities. This new boon allows Kunikunosaku to double the impact of her EGF ninjutsu. In addition, a passive boon is the ability to completely negate Jiongu's manipulation to consume more hearts. These boons together allow Kuni to further manipulate Jiongu against its basic natures, improving her unique utilization. While still young and unrefined, the ability is expected to grow as their bond deepens to even further levels.

Medical Knowledge:

Being from Takigakure's prestigious clan medical clan, Kunikunosaku is also set to learn the human anatomy, biology, and Kinesthetics, While this knowledge DOES NOT give her access to Medical Ninjutsu Techniques, however, the knowledge does unlock abilities of precision to the human body with every attack. This knowledge grants field combat medic aid but nowhere near the degree of those actually trained in it.

After three hand-seals, the user will slap both hands on the ground and summon an intricate spherical seal on the ground, ten meters in diameter, with the user at the epicenter. Anyone or anything standing on the ground within ten meters is then sealed to the ground itself, locking their feet in place. They will be stuck in place until the seal is broken, which can be achieved by destroying the ground it is summoned on. People who were not inside the range can move over the surface of the seal once it's been summoned without any issue.

Sokudo is a method of using chakra passively to reinforce the body's physical capabilities. Such things are movement-based rather than just brute strength would. Though, after being used for more than seven posts, the user's muscles will be sore as if they just did an extensive workout. IF continued to be used, eleven posts will begin to break down muscle. Intense pain followed, forced technique shut down.

Like many elemental clones they are unable to use anything bar Taijutsu. When the clones either dissipate or are destroyed any surviving threads will attempt to return to the user.

DESCRIPTION:
Upon utilizing the trigger, the Mikatakujira member casts a fairly mild yet horrifying Genjutsu. Manipulating the hearing of sound, much like All Directions, the victim starts hearing the incessant growling and cries to kill and get hearts down to the exact intonation the Jiongu symbiont actually uses. The key note, it is one singular voice with the sound originating from within the user's head, as if the Mikatakujira awakened an inner monster that lied dormant within the intended target. While the chance is slim, it could cause mental scarring or other mental health issues (IE Psychosis, PTSD, etc) dependant on the mental fortitude of the target.

However while creating water the user can only move at a brisk walk at most.

[Sora Minami]

Kuni’s reaction to failure was unsurprising, but her reaction to what she had said more than made up for it; her eye went wide, lips parting in a slight snarl as she wove a trio of hand seals, calling out her summon’s name before slamming her hands into the water. Sora felt her footing change when the jutsu took effect, felt her feet somehow glue themselves to the floor as the crocodile ran from her strike, barely avoiding it. But she didn’t have time to deal with the thing now- the Taki-nin was speaking, her voice ringing through the cavern as she leapt up into the air, aiming for the ceiling… And was intercepted by Sora’s jutsu.

A flash of electricity and what exploded from her blade as she drew it, the weapon screaming out at an impossible speed, aided by her mastery of Kenjutsu, its own innate lightness, and the sheer power of the jutsu. The blade of Raiton chakra cut through stone, steel, water, anything and everything before it, sending a shock of electricity running through the water before cutting off the entirety of the Special Jounin’s right arm, carving across Kuni’s shoulder and into her upper chest before the woman managed to get out of the way and land, injured, on the ceiling, her summon writhing on the stone, not dead but certainly hurting from the shock.

The electric shock of her jutsu touching the water had gotten Sora as well, tensing the Jounin’s muscles and sucking the breath out of her lungs as she felt something slide off of her, but she didn’t have time to think about it; her cut had been thrown off by whatever was holding her to the ground, and Kuni had formed writhing tendril clones out the pieces of herself that had been cut off by her iai. Thinking quickly, Sora formed a single seal with her shaking fingers and called up two Shadow clones, one for each of the creepy vine things Kuni had sent after her.

The clones moved into action instantly, each one pulling out an explosive tag before leaping to intercept the attackers; it took them all of a single second to catch up to the writhing black things even with them moving full speed, and before they could react she blew the tags. The dual explosions rocked the cavern, sending bits of stone and water everywhere, obscuring both fighters in steam- but she could move again. Sort of. Her muscles ached, her shoulder burned, and every breath came in like a ragged tear through her lungs…

But she wasn’t down. Not yet. Not even close.

"That the best you got… kid?" Sora said as she leapt up, forming three hand seals as she landed on the ceiling, matching Kuni’s pose. Fog filled the room, pouring from her like smoke as she receded into the mist, Samidare in hand. To wait.

Whatever metal and forging process was used in the creation of Samidare, it worked; Samidare is utterly unbreakable by most any means, capable of being engulfed in an S-Rank Jutsu and remaining unscathed. Though it is possible that the blade could potentially be broken by a sufficiently powerful attack (such as, say, a Bijuu-dama), this has never been tested, so it is not known if it would survive.

Sharper Than Your Average Blade
Due to its nature as an unbreakable blade, Samidare bears a cutting edge that is of particular note, which allows it to slice through even steel with little in the way of resistance, so long as the proper force is applied. Additionally, this edge never needs to be resharpened, as it never grows dull or rolls, thus making it perfect for frontline combat.

Light as Spring Rain
Perhaps a quirk of its forging (or perhaps an intentional feature), Samidare is considerably lighter than a blade its size and length ought to be; while this would normally result in a less effective weapon, Samidare loses none of its integrity or cutting power, as it is somehow able to leverage the same amount of force through less mass. This lightness allows the user to swing the weapon about with much greater speed for the same amount of physical exertion.

Chakra Conduction
Being Chakra Conductive, Samidare is capable of channeling all types of Chakra for use in Bukijustu, and, more particularly, it has a slight affinity for Raiton chakra thanks to Sora’s constant use of the blade for that purpose. This affinity does not do anything of real note, but it does feel as if the blade were more eager to drink in Raiton Chakra than other types.

Evil Doesn't Die; It Changes Shape.

Kunikunosaku had felt her entire arm lob off, however, she remained on the offensive, the number of times the Mikatakujira lost a limb to friend or foe, and what it took to truly hurt her was reaching the ridiculous limits. But electricity still uncomfortably surged through her, attracted to the daggers in her wrists, well, wrist after her right limb separated. She frowned hearing Daichi's shrieks of pain, roaring in distress as the electricity surged from him. Kunikunosaku's speed slowed, no longer needing it for the moment. She heard the paper bombs go off as she watched the clones of her and Sora crashed together. Kunikunosaku closed her eyes, forcing extra threads within her to form the now missing limb. She activated the same jutsu as before and watched as her body faster than before stitched itself together. She looked 'up' to the floor and took note of the pink dagger lost. Kunikunosaku used the jutsu to weave through a long series of handseals nearly twice as quick as Ninjutsu specs above her experience grade. Kunikunosaku felt the threads in her move faster and explode in anger, flailing about in a wild, spiteful fashion. The room felt even heavier with a darker air and as Sora came up on the ceiling as well and taunted Kuni, the girl rapidly pushed the blue dagger to her left hand. Holding the blade in an odd way so she can hold and weave seals, Kunikunosaku had only one thing to say. "Cute, you're using the sam-"

She used the same jutsu to almost knock Toru out despite his own superior skills above her, surviving the worst of the wounds because of his unusual jinchūriki control, she was still trying to figure which one but his secret was oddly safe with Kuni, not that she really needed to keep it, he seemed capable of protecting himself, she just kept it out of spiteful respect for him. If she was successful, even the smoke did not stop her, she could literally hunt the very signature out. Her movement was nearly impossible to dodge but due to the speed, it had an extreme caveat of stunning her for a short period. As soon as she could 'see' Sora, the girl went for the strike. Completing what Kiri shinobi had called impossible to accomplish. Kunikunosaku knew about the human body, she knew where to strike that wouldn't be lethal, but debilitating enough to end the fight. As soon as she struck the Mist Kunoichi, Kunikunosaku allowed the threads to hold both her and Sora together. In her few seconds of available time, she broke her favored dagger in Sora's chest, both to aggravate the wound and to keep her from bleeding out. "Too bad you have weak skin." Kuni stated, hinting how a certain opponent was able to keep fighting despite being struck.

If the two collided as she had planned, they would both fall. She might have been in too much shock, but Sora might have noticed she was padded, protected from the fall from the same girl that had for all intents and purposes seemingly tried to kill her. The message in that simple act should be clear as day, but Kuni of course would lay unmoving, still connected to Sora, live or die, it was Sora's choice. It should be clear to her that if she moved she would die, she would need to wait for Kuni to get back up for a chance for saving, it doesn't look like that door was opening anytime soon.

Jiongu | Earth Grudge Fear

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body
As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.

Power of a God:
After a great time learning how to control Jiongu, Kunikunosaku has learned to store chakra in each of her threads so long as they continue to be attached to at least one of her hearts. This extra storage capacity allows the girl to amass greater amounts of chakra within herself, expanding her reserves beyond that of the normal shinobi her rank. As with many other abilities, this ability continues to grow as the girl does through the ranks and years.

Cursed Master:

As a reward for attaining a greater deal of control over her symbiotic relationship with Jiongu, Kunikunosaku acquired the keys to the gate of mastering her abilities. This new boon allows Kunikunosaku to double the impact of her EGF ninjutsu. In addition, a passive boon is the ability to completely negate Jiongu's manipulation to consume more hearts. These boons together allow Kuni to further manipulate Jiongu against its basic natures, improving her unique utilization. While still young and unrefined, the ability is expected to grow as their bond deepens to even further levels.

Medical Knowledge:

Being from Takigakure's prestigious clan medical clan, Kunikunosaku is also set to learn the human anatomy, biology, and Kinesthetics, While this knowledge DOES NOT give her access to Medical Ninjutsu Techniques, however, the knowledge does unlock abilities of precision to the human body with every attack. This knowledge grants field combat medic aid but nowhere near the degree of those actually trained in it.

Though, after being used for more than seven posts, the user's muscles will be sore as if they just did an extensive workout. IF continued to be used, eleven posts will begin to break down muscle. Before the user strikes, there can be a feeling akin to dread and murderous intent in a ten meter radius around the girl. Like a predator ready to pounce, this stance allows any and all 'Nemesis' jutsus to work, without this, none of the techniques that require this stance can even work.

Malevolent Jiongu activated and in a frenzy, Kunikunosaku readies her body for an individual quick and precise movement. This boon allows Kunikunosaku to increase her drastically increase her speeds within Jiongu's limits. This burst of speed only lasts an extremely short duration (one post) and thus is only meant for a singular killing strike, hence the name. While this gift still allows her to access all her abilities, it will stun her for a post following as the threads need to reconvene from their chaotic activation. Another limit is she can only do this around five times per thread, due to wearing of the body beyond limitations.

A lot of people thought the art of Kenjutsu was too limited a discipline for a Shinobi to specialize in. They cited its lack of range, its inability to diversify, the fact that most everything one did with it amounted to little more than hitting someone with an ever growing assortment of sharp objects- and to an extent, Sora understood where they came from. She had always struggled against certain types of fighters, had been forced to adapt and fight and utilize her limited arsenal to its fullest extent through non-standard uses of techniques and creativity. She’d taken beatings, yes, and that had made her tough… but it also made her smart. And in a battle for your life, sometimes that was all you needed.

Kuni’s reaction to her injury was as nonchalant as they came; those black threads simply grew out, forming a new arm as she blurred through hand seals that were obscured by the thickening mist. The Jounin felt the atmosphere shift, the very air growing thicker as murderous intent roiled off of the Tokubetsu Jounin in waves of billowing hate. Sora didn’t speak just yet- instead, she simply poured Raiton chakra into her blade, forming the Super Vibrato jutsu as she surged her chakra through every muscle and pore, readying herself. Any second now…

The girl moved faster than Sora thought possible for someone whose abilities were so clearly geared towards Ninjutsu. Kuni streaked towards her in a blur of speed, arm extended in a strike that, had she not been waiting, looking for this very moment, would have ended the fight right then and there. But unlike what her opponent may have thought, the Jounin hadn’t been throwing out jutsu after jutsu in some desperate attempt to keep up- she had been surprised, yes, but every move she made had led to this moment, to draw the Taki-nin in close and make her opponent overcommit to an attack.

Now! The thought pushed Sora’s aching frame into action, chakra exploding from her as she swung Samidare in an downward diagonal arc, right to left, her blade slamming through Kuni’s strike and into her left shoulder; at almost the same moment a second cut came against the Tokubetsu Jounin, its own arc a reverse of the first, slicing into her opponent’s newly formed shoulder; a third strike accompanied it, also in that same instant, slashing across the younger woman’s middle. All three strikes were faster than thought, so quick and well-timed that, to anyone who wasn’t moving at a similar speed, they didn’t appear as separated attacks that flowed into one another, but rather as three simultaneous blows that, even without the enhancement of her Super Vibrato jutsu, were supremely lethal in their own right.

"Ittoryu Ougi: Hiken - Tsubaeme Gaeshi." The words left the Jounin’s mouth as her opponent fell to the floor, her attacks having carved the girl into three smoking pieces of black tendrils, though not without cost. She feel her right arm burn with pain and, with a glance, knew that Kuni’s knife hadn’t missed entirely- the blade was buried in her shoulder up to the hilt and, now that she wasn’t pumping chakra into her every muscle, it hurt. A lot. She wouldn’t be able to do that again but, well. She didn’t need to.

Sora dropped down from the ceiling with a wince, her breathing ragged as she stumbled a step before recovering, her sky-blue gaze finding the girl’s -still living- torso as she pulled the knife out with a grimace, shuddering against the pain before tossing it to the ground. Whatever jutsu the girl had used to enhance her speed had its drawbacks, but those wouldn’t last forever. She only had a few seconds, if that, before things got serious again. Best make the most of this.

"I could have killed you, you know." Sora said, pointing her blade at the prone girl’s face, Raiton chakra still blurring through it. "I read your file in Kiri. I know what those tendrils are. What you are. Those strikes could have hit your hearts, if I had wanted them to." But she hadn’t. Because no one, not even the monster Kunikunosaku had made herself into, was beyond redemption. No one.

"I know what it's like, to have no one, to feel like you aren’t even human anymore. And, for what it's worth… I see you, kid." The Jounin paused, glancing towards the wall where they’d come in before she spoke again, lips parted in a soft, knowing smile. "You annoy the shit out of me, but I’m not going to give up on you just yet." She couldn’t, not without betraying everything that had gotten her this far.

With her piece said, Sora walked to the place felt the door had been and, still holding onto her Vibrato jutsu, she cut an awkward hole through the stone, limping through it to the exit. A stunned Yamakira stood on the other side, but she paid him no mind, sheathing her blade as she turned her head to Kuni one last time and said, quietly, "See you around, Kuni."

The blade will appear normal until it comes in contact with an object, such as other metal or stone, when it will glow brightly. This jutsu greatly increases the cutting power of a weapon, allowing it to cleave through most natural objects with ease. It cannot cut through other Chakra enhanced blades.

DESCRIPTION: A jutsu of incredible precision and speed, Hiken - Tsubame Gaeshi relies on nothing more than the users raw, unaltered chakra and sheer physical speed to unleash a trio of near-simultaneous cuts at an enemy, trapping them within a triangle of death that cannot be fully blocked without the use of multiple blades (one for each strike) nor dodged, save for by the use of an instantaneous teleportation jutsu.

The blows are as follows: The first, a right-to-left downward diagonal through the upper shoulder area, designed to prevent rolling out to the (users) left; the second, a searing left-to-right upward diagonal whose arc is the reverse of the first, which cuts off escape to the (user’s) right and intersects with the first 2/3rds of the way through its arc; and the third, a horizontal slash across the middle, meant to keep the enemy from escaping underneath and completely seals the triangle by hitting the bottom third of the first two, making escape almost impossible.

Despite the extreme speed of this technique, it is not impossible to defeat it- though the blows come in nearly simultaneously, they are not truly simultaneous, and could potentially be blocked by a sufficiently skilled swordsman with massively enhanced speed. Additionally, the cuts, while certainly strong, are not enhanced beyond the natural strength of the user, and a sufficiently powerful defensive Jutsu could negate their effectiveness. Finally, though Hiken - Tsubaeme Gaeshi is insanely fast, it has only a limited range- namely, it does not extend out past the length of the users sword. Due to the extremely strenuous nature of this technique, it may only be used once per thread.

Special Abilities:
The Kunoichi That Goes On And On And On… [Endurance SA]
Perhaps part of her genetics or simply a random quirk of fate, Sora is unnaturally resilient, be it to physical pain or the toils of extended combat. While most Shinobi would collapse in exhaustion at having used all but the smallest sliver of their chakra reserves, she pushes on; while most Shinobi would wilt beneath the weight of sleepless night after sleepless night, she keeps going. This does not mean she does not feel pain/the strain of extended combat, but rather that her threshold for shutting down because of it is far higher than others. To give an example, if she were to be stabbed through her abdomen, she would still feel the pain of the injury, and it would hinder her ability to move/act, but it wouldn’t stop her, whereas a normal ninja might freeze up or shut down from the pain.

A byproduct of her enhanced endurance, Sora (despite what many would think) dislikes being injured- and with that dislike comes the intense desire to avoid getting hurt, a desire that has pushed her to hone her body until it could move faster than most others of her rank. In short, Sora is fast- very, very fast.

Evil Doesn't Die; It Changes Shape.

Kunikunosaku had no idea what to think. She wasn't sure if she could think properly in that moment, she wasn't sure if she even registered what happened. She moved to strike Sora, geared so ready to end the fight, now she was in pieces. She wanted to scream in pain, yet she could not. Instead, the pieces that made her up fell onto the watery ground below, haphazardly crashing. The water's surface bubbled violently around her head, taking a bit for the acoustics of a scream to reach the surface. It was a mix of pain, anger, and almost an inhuman roar. Kunikunosaku eventually quieted, trying to pull herself back together. Sure, she could take a lot, but she needed to prioritize how much pain she could ignore versus how much she can repair herself, and right now, pulling herself together was more important than being strong. For the most part, Kuni lay motionless, too much in pain, in overexertion, in every avenue. Her silence following her scream was reminiscent of someone dead, no, she was in too much shock to actually do anything else. She could hear Sora speaking but Kuni just couldn't react. Stitching herself together, Kuni couldn't give input, but she knew Sora's words held no weight. Even with prior knowledge, if they were enemy shinobi rather than allied, her literal first glance would have found Sora dead. Kuni wanted to fight and it got this bad, but if her bloodlust was as strong then as is now, well, an alliance would have clearly been broken. Kunikunosaku felt the last piece of herself slide and stitch in place. But she was still too exhausted to get up, it was a miracle she could even stitch herself through the pain.

The Kunoichi continued to listen. The words came to her and the threads around her eyes pulled back, revealing black cracks that screamed of hellbent anger. "Don't. Fucking. Patronize me!" Kuni's body convulsed from all the threads trying the move on again but failing to. "You know nothing of the hell I've been through!" Kunikunosaku yelled, her fingers twitching. She hated that Sora was both stating she wasn't going to give up on her yet it sounded like she was trying to leave, just like everyone. They all left, they all disregarded Kuni. They all didn't understand. "Sora?" Kuni called out to the woman, hoping to give her a slight pause. "Do you really expect me to believe you?" She called to the woman struggling through the awkward hole. A reptilian hiss emanated loudly from the corner Daichi was at, once again, another genjutsu-laced noise came at Sora. Under the water, Kunikunosaku clenched and unclenched her fist. Not over till it's over. The Kunoichi thought as she felt the hearts within her begin to move erratically.

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body
As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.

Power of a God:
After a great time learning how to control Jiongu, Kunikunosaku has learned to store chakra in each of her threads so long as they continue to be attached to at least one of her hearts. This extra storage capacity allows the girl to amass greater amounts of chakra within herself, expanding her reserves beyond that of the normal shinobi her rank. As with many other abilities, this ability continues to grow as the girl does through the ranks and years.

Cursed Master:

As a reward for attaining a greater deal of control over her symbiotic relationship with Jiongu, Kunikunosaku acquired the keys to the gate of mastering her abilities. This new boon allows Kunikunosaku to double the impact of her EGF ninjutsu. In addition, a passive boon is the ability to completely negate Jiongu's manipulation to consume more hearts. These boons together allow Kuni to further manipulate Jiongu against its basic natures, improving her unique utilization. While still young and unrefined, the ability is expected to grow as their bond deepens to even further levels.

Medical Knowledge:

Being from Takigakure's prestigious clan medical clan, Kunikunosaku is also set to learn the human anatomy, biology, and Kinesthetics, While this knowledge DOES NOT give her access to Medical Ninjutsu Techniques, however, the knowledge does unlock abilities of precision to the human body with every attack. This knowledge grants field combat medic aid but nowhere near the degree of those actually trained in it.

DESCRIPTION:
Activated by the user seeing a handseal, the illusion begins with the user being quickly obscured by some material natural to the location and disappearing from sight once it clears. This material could be leaves, sand, water, etc. A somewhat slower burning technique, it is still quite effective as this is a genjutsu that reveals the fears that dwell inside people's hearts. Everyone has an image of the one thing they wouldn't want to ever see. This genjutsu is a technique that draws forth such an image from within the heart and has one mistake it for reality. First, an imaginary circle of leaves will spin around and envelop the target, falling away shortly after. After a short period, the illusion will begin. This is to make the illusion more convincing, since the user will likely have moved before the illusion sets in. If the mental image is a gruesome one, the shock will be accordingly great. Sora heard the crocodile’s hiss (how was that thing still alive?) and turned before she even got past the first step, her body stumbling as a wave of cold washed over her… and then vanished, as if beaten back by the sheer weight of the injuries she’d sustained. The Jounin looked at Kuni’s broken, slowly healing body and sighed, hearing her words and the pain behind them. The girl had been through hell, turned into a killing machine for her village and then hated by those same people, all because of what they had made her into.

"No, I don’t expect you to believe in me, Kuni. Not yet." Sora said once the girl was finished, her voice soft and tired as she formed a single hand seal, gritting her teeth through the pain. She was going to get hell for this back in Kiri, never mind the time she would have to be laid up healing. But some things just had to be said. Had to be done. And this had been one of them, however regrettable the end of it was. "You will though. I promise."

And with that, Sora let her chakra flare, blasting out of the cavern with a Shunshin as she left the Tokubetsu Jounin to her pain for now. Sora needed time. Time to think. To heal. To plan. And, most importantly, to train. Because if she wasn’t strong enough to fight someone like Kuni, she’d never become Mizukage. Never fix things. And that…

That wouldn’t do.
