SHADOWS IN THE FOG

From behind Zaizen’s clone, a form rose up from the end of the water opposite of where the onions were. They quickly formed two hand seals and slapped their hands together. An area around 18 meters of the chakra signature began to fill with high air pressure, pulling oxygen into a super compact area, and with it much of the cover of the mist in the localized area.

Zaizen’s clone would get a good look at the offender for the first time. A gray haired young adult, he wore a blue gi with a black shirt beneath it. There was a look of intense hatred in his eyes. Afterwards, he blew a bubble from his mouth: bubble gum.

There was a strange and sudden change in his skin. It became pink and rubbery. If he was a Hozuki, there was something about him that was different from anything Zaizen had encountered before.

Zaizen’s clone’s life became somewhat worse as a behemoth of a man rushed into the condensed air zone. Roughly three hundred pounds of pure muscle, and wearing large clawed gauntlets on his hands.

On the other end of the island, in the water, Toru would find a blue ooze within the waves. It rose to the top of the ocean and took the form of Fugetsu. A Hozuki that Toru had once known, and once been on missions with.

"Toru! Have you seen your mom? I’ve been looking all over for her,” Fugetsu called to him. He used surface walking to stand on top of the water. He crossed his arms in front of him and held a flute at his side.

Meanwhile, atop the plateau from which Toru had jumped- where Zaizen and the fire clone were, a feeling of bitter cold began to wash over the mists around them originating from the center of the island. There was no movement yet from the chakra signature at the center of the Island, and without visibility it was difficult to tell if they were doing anything.

Zaizen's clone near where the onion smell had come from started to feel the air pressure around them start to feel pressurized as the clone turned around to see what had caused the change in air Zaizen's clone could see a gray haired young adult, he wore a blue gi with a black shirt beneath it. The change in the air pressure had made it harder to breathe as well as perform actions while not impossible it would put a harder strain on the clone, but the clone's job here was a simple one and that was to gather information and buy time. A bubble came towards Zaizen formed from the young adult's mouth as Zaizen fought against the wind pressure to move out of the way, but at the same time the clone would sense one of the chakra signatures from the boat that had been coming towards the Island. The clone knowing the chakra signature was really close to his location now would perform the snake handsign as raiton chakra would be sent to the clones hand knowing the direction the signature was coming in Zaizen would fire a powerful raiton-like spear at the incoming enemy, Zaizen knowing the mist would provide some cover for the incoming straight beam, similar to a laser at the enemy and not only that the technique would be fast. Zaizen's clone would then start to move away from the two targets slightly to get out of the wind, the air pressure was making it harder and the clone's breathing.

The real Zaizen would continue to double back and head towards Toru's location having been able to sense him but as he kept up speed he felt some type of chakra coming towards him, but then sense it belonged to Toru as the real Zaizen stopped. As the chakra signature appeared into view it seemed to be a fire clone of Toru as Zaizen assumed it had been formed in response to Zaizen giving the whistle signal from before. As Zaizen met up with the fire clone of Toru, Zaizen would waste no time in explaining. "The two chakra signatures have reached the Island, one is moving towards the centre of the island and one is currently near my shadow clone, but seems to be fighting two chakra signatures there. He is just buying time and keeping them there. Once it gets dispelled it will have further information."

[Sensory Capabilities & Awareness]

The ability to detect/sense other's presence by their chakra. Zaizen is particularly skilled at sensing other individuals, capable of sensing/tracking a chakra signature over five kilometers. He could also discern between various populations, capable of pinpointing their country of origin. It was this very ability that enabled him to know that his son's killer derived from Konohagakure. Zaizens also has the ability to sense passively for a one kilometer range without the need to concentrate a great deal. It can be used to sense if his natural senses were blocked somehow.

He can also sense his immediate surroundings at all times, this in conjunction with his quick reflexes allows him increase his evasion rate.

[God-Like Chakra Control Prowess]

It's difficult to describe his control over his chakra. It is as if the chakra itself is his very breath. He can manipulate it to such a degree that every technique is perfectly executed with zero wasted chakra yet potent enough that the maximum potential of that technique is always released.

Zaizen is quick. His dashing movement mimics shunshin no jutsu, and while utilizing Shunshin no Jutsu, his speed reaches a level rarely seen, due to few being able to see it. It isn't an understatement to say he is one of, if not, the fastest Kirigakure shinobi of his generation. While most focus on training speed & strength to an certain degree, he excelled in training his speed and stamina. Capable of traveling long distances in little time without breaks. This movements translates to his maneuverability as well. The speed at which he punches, kicks, dodges, flips, and dashes are what his entire physical conditioning is about - reaching optimal speed in every aspect of combat. Due to his speed, he was dubbed: [Mist's Bullet].

[Silent Killing Mastery]

Steps hold no sound, breath holds no sound, existence can disappear at will. That which makes us shinobi is the fact that a majority of their task takes place in the shadows, and Zaizen has refined and perfected the craft of stealth, lurking within the shadows, hiding one's presence, and covering one's tracks. He can even slow his heartbeat to a near halt, decreasing his body need for oxygen, and hiding his very beat within silence.

As one trained within the shadows, and exemplifying the existence of being one, he is arguably the greatest stealth assassin in his Kirigakure holding the title of ANBU Captain and more. If compared to all in the world, he may just be within the tops. It's even been noted that in a battle of sheer silence, not even the trained Kirigakure can match his lack of presence. This coupled with his physical capabilities is why he's regarded as the [Ghost of the Mist]. He kills at such a speed and moves with no evidence of his existence that one never knows they were killed until he's behind them with a blade in their heart. Even while in actual direct combat, if he's not in view, his presence is impossible to detect via sound no matter how skilled.

Both instinctual & conscience reflexes are beyond staggering. It is this coupled with his speed that he's reached his level of command. He reacts to stimuli almost instantaneously, this gives him ample time to give a reply. There isn't much that can dash out of his vision without him knowing, or strike him directly where he can't react. It is due to this and his Kekkei Genkai that his level of evasion is top class.

At first there was nothing, but then the water churned and there was something. Toru rose alongside or rather just in front of Fugetsu, his suspicions confirmed. But if Fugetsu was here, who was with Zaizen? That onion smell had been all too obvious from before in the opposite direction. Strange, perhaps he had miscalculated? Though he expected this kind of resistance, he did not think himself the type to miscalculate... Genjutsu was not his strongest point though so perhaps it had been a moment of discombobulation.

He knew Fugetsu well enough, though he had not realized - in his busy-ness - that the man had defected from Kirigakure. Toru was merciless when it came to loyalty. He demanded it. For the one in front of him, there were only two fates laid out now. Death or prison. So Toru's sword Sango no Kyoi was drawn once more.

"I'm sure you have - though I do not remember assigning you such a mission."

Toru leaned forward them his stance shifting as he placed his forward foot down against the water with a stomp lifting some water droplets in the process, the movement of his sword also shifted down meaning to catch the Hozuki's attention down and ultimately where Toru's foot was stomping.

If this was successful Toru would launch himself forward, but Fugetsu would see many after images as if Toru were moving at the speed of an eight gates user, the hope was to distract the Hozuki long enough to get in close and strike swiftly right through the man's abdomen before he could liquify.

The clone met with Zaizen, inspecting him briefly to make sure that there was nothing strange and the smell was right. Then he nodded.

"How are your chakra supplies?" It was worth asking since they had been fighting for a while now and while rest was hardly an option, they needed to be mindful... There was a chance that the hardest fight was up ahead. They needed to conserve energy.

"We can move towards the center or remain here, though staying still seems unwise in this moment - perhaps help your clone?" The clone felt the cold, and looked over towards the center of the island.

SHADOWS IN THE FOG

The oppressive pressure of the air made the execution of the raiton jutsu somewhat more difficult, although due to the mist it was difficult to see, it lagged in speed compared to what Zaizen could typically perform. Further, as the lightning was gathered, the nostrils of the approaching figure flared as the smell of sulpher flared. He began moving in an evasive pattern, and his speed was indicative of a master martial artist. The brunt of the attack didn’t land, but arcs of lightning licked off from it and danced onto his body, and a gutteral grunt of displeasure could be heard, but he was barely slowed.

The bubblegum form Fugetsu began forming handseals. "Smart not to use that on this rubbery form, but stupid to ignore me,” he said with a grin. After five seals, his gummy body seemed to expand slightly and become more gooey, and his face emerged.

The tank of a man arrived at Zaizen’s location before Fugetsu could do much else, and thanks to the disruption of the mist because of the wind pressure, he was able to find the swordsman of the mist. He began attacking with his clawed gauntlets in a flurry of one-hundred blows, moving to intercept mundane attempts to backpedal away from his attacks against the shadow clone.

"She killed my sister, then tried to kill me in some island game,” Fugetsu called out. "I’ll have my vengence, maybe she’ll come out of hiding if—”

The sword struck through Fugetsu’s body. There wasn’t the satisfaction of viscera as it slashed through, only a grin on the Hozuki’s face. He dispersed in a puff of smoke, dropping the wooden flute on the ground. A shadow clone. If Zaizen’s clone was still near the bubblegum version he’d notice a substantial bump in their chakra.

zen's clones attack had struggled to hit its mark due to the oppressive pressure of the air made the execution of the raiton jutsu somewhat more difficult, he seemed to have done a little with the arc waves of its aftermath but had not done nearly enough damage as the chakra signature came into full view of the clone now it was a tall muscular man, he was like a living tank as he came towards Zaizen and he was quick, meanwhile the Hozuki and his gummy body seemed to expand slightly and become more gooey, and his face emerged from it not that the clone of Zaizen concentrate that much as he was moving to try and avoid the incoming strikes but the oppressive pressure was making it highly difficult so much that the clone was pretty much a lost cause at this point, but Zaizen would gain the knowledge upon the destruction of the clone and would use it to his advantage later. The clone would be struck by the massive man but would poof into smoke as the information gained would go to the real Zaizen and the chakra remaining in the clone.

The real Zaizen had met up with the fire clone of Toru as it spoke asking Zaizen how his chakra supplies were, now that his clone had been destroyed his chakra had been given a boost that they had been fighting for a good amount of time now and the most difficult fights were up ahead. "I will be fine Mizukage, all that matters is that we are victorious no matter the cost." The clone of Toru had suggested that the real Zaizen should go help his clone to fight, but it had been a little late for that now. " A little bit late the clone has been destroyed, but have gained some more information the Hozuki is using some what looks like bubble gum like jutsu and is changing the air pressure making it difficult to fight, then there is the tall man he seemed to be a clone range fighter and fights with claws on his hands, the Hozuki is helping the massive man to fight close range, by slowing movement."
Zaizen had said at least it was something to watch out for now since Zaizen's clone had experienced it, the real Zaizen would know whats coming. If we can separate them ill be able to handle the bigger guy." Zaizen had just finished speaking towards the fire clone.

The flute dropped and the clone disappeared along with the immediate smell of it, Toru knew immediately that it had been a clone. A distraction. That was quite frustrating for the Mizukage who sheathed his sword quickly. Fugetsu was here and that onion smell was where he was, which meant that he had rightfully sent Zaizen there...

The clone nodded towards Zaizen in agreement, but there was still some caution that needed to be exercised. Their mission was not yet complete and they were already battle worn to some degree. They needed to remain strong and vigilant. The man suggested that they separate them, and once again the clone nodded.

"Alright, I'll do my best. Lead the way." He would take off after Zaizen in the direction of the Hozuki's scent. They would need to use Fugetsu's anger and bait him away from the larger opponent as Zaizen had said. Some taunting might do...

The real Toru was climbing out from the cliffside - if no more Hozuki clones appeared - taking jumps from stone edge to stone edge focusing a bit on his nose. There was that new scent coming from the center of the island, and with his clone and Zaizen off to fight the not so mystery onion smell and an extra opponent, he knew he had to approach what was happening in the center.

His approach however was not loud and boisterous, it was quiet and simply following his nose like a bloodhound in hopes of catching sight of what he was going to go up against and perhaps - in an ideal world - catch one opponent off guard enough to take them out before being properly noticed.

As Zaizen and Toru’s clone approached the place where Fugetsu and the clawed man were last, the air around them shifted, thickening and making movement difficult. At the same time, mist swirled around them, mixing with Zaizen’s and messing with his senses. Zaizen would still be able to sense the two men, though now there were four, with a chakra signature matching the large tank of a man flying at them at high speed through the mist, his claws glinting as he came at Toru’s fire clone from above and behind, slashing downwards with a powerful blow that seemed slow at first, but quickly sped up the closer it got to the clone. Should it hit, the impact would surely be enough to disperse the flaming construct.

If Zaizen was paying attention, he would notice the second signature matching Fugetsu coming towards them rapidly, albeit slower than the clawed man, and as it approached he would be able to see it was much smaller than a proper clone, perhaps only three feet tall. Still, the thing charged at them with relentless intensity, taking in air as it moved, its body expanding rapidly before exploding into a dozen pieces of gum five meters from them. The pieces went every which way, sticking to anything living within ten meters of the small clone and rapidly hardening into rubber cement, with the remaining one coalescing into a new, still living clone, albeit one smaller than the last.

As for Toru himself, despite his stealthiness, the Mizukage would find that his approach had not gone unnoticed, though he did go unmolested. Indeed, as he approached the center of the island he would see a singular man sitting atop a rock, legs crossed, eyes closed as if in meditation. He carried a single blade on his right hip, and wore the garb of a ceremonial warrior of old- and he was old, much older than Toru himself, perhaps by thirty years or more.

"Ah, the young pup.” The old man said, his voice flat as he stood, opening his eyes to regard the Kage before him. "I had hoped to meet you. It seems the fates have given me quite the blessing.” The old man nodded at the teen, an acknowledgement of all that he had accomplished- and then he moved, surging forwards faster than the eye could see, blade flashing in iai cut from left to right just as fast, meant to decapitate the boy-Kage where he stood without a moment’s hesitation.

The real Zaizen was heading back toward where the Hozuki and the huge tank-like man had been keeping Zaizen's own clone busy before as a thick mist had developed in place, obviously, Zaizen knew this technique well as he had used it many times in his career. Having also the previous knowledge of fighting the two of them with his clone he knew he also had to watch out for the change in air pressure. As he approached Zaizen could sense more chakra signatures from before contained in the mist they had to be using clones as Zaizen could sense two of the large man's signatures and two of the Hozuki signatures. They had to be careful how to fight the two of them as they were fighting together for a reason. Without wasting time Zaizen moved into the mist but could feel chakra signatures moving towards them as the large tank-like man's signatures moved towards the fire clone that belonged to Toru. They came at different angles towards him, but then Zaizen picked up upon a chakra signature from the Hozuki as something was coming towards them at a much slower pace than the tank-like man and his clone. It was getting bigger as it moved towards them in preparation for something happening Zaizen would switch to his incorporeal form changing the bonds in the mans body so he could phase through matter.

As the Hozuki clone exploded it caused gum-like material to spread all around Zaizen in various directions but, this didn't affect Zaizen as the matter phased through the man. Zaizen had evaded the attack but that didn't stop the man as he moved forward towards the reforming clone this time becoming a normal one again as he waved a few hand signs. Using the mist as a medium already created Zaizen would control the mist to provide him with an additional sensory as the mist would wrap around targets contained within the mist allowing him finer control of the locations of his enemies first after using the jutsu, he pulled his sword from his back the Hiramekarei then using the special ability of the weapon Zaizen used chakra within the weapon to extended its cutting range. Then Zaizen would move towards the clone that had reformed as he performed a slashing cut towards the clone from within striking range. While the air pressure was a factor the increase in range on his weapon would compensate for the shortfall as he aimed to cut the clone in half, then not resting as the mist had gathered around the other Hozuki assuming this was the real one as Zaizen would hold a single hand sign with his free hand as he seemed to disappear hidden in the mist as well and making no sound from his silent killing he would appear behind the Hozuki this time releasing the hand sign as he this time used the swords special ability once more this time performing another slashing motion towards the Hozuki this time a technique that increased the blades slashing ability to fifteen feet as it would be razor sharp and would leave cutting gouges in the terrain if attacks would hit the ground it was that sharp. Zaizen didn't leave it there as he followed up his first attack with a further two slashes from his blade, Zaizen should have been able to make direct contact as the Hozuki shouldn't have been able to see him coming. Though the air pressure was still an issue hopefully this was the end of the problem and hopefully, moving onto the bigger guy would be harder for Zaizen to deal with.

[Sensory Capabilities & Awareness]

The ability to detect/sense other's presence by their chakra. Zaizen is particularly skilled at sensing other individuals, capable of sensing/tracking a chakra signature over five kilometers. He could also discern between various populations, capable of pinpointing their country of origin. It was this very ability that enabled him to know that his son's killer derived from Konohagakure. Zaizens also has the ability to sense passively for a one kilometer range without the need to concentrate a great deal. It can be used to sense if his natural senses were blocked somehow.

He can also sense his immediate surroundings at all times, this in conjunction with his quick reflexes allows him increase his evasion rate.

[God-Like Chakra Control Prowess]

It's difficult to describe his control over his chakra. It is as if the chakra itself is his very breath. He can manipulate it to such a degree that every technique is perfectly executed with zero wasted chakra yet potent enough that the maximum potential of that technique is always released.

[Prodigious Speed]

Zaizen is quick. His dashing movement mimics shunshin no jutsu, and while utilizing Shunshin no Jutsu, his speed reaches a level rarely seen, due to few being able to see it. It isn't an understatement to say he is one of, if not, the fastest Kirigakure shinobi of his generation. While most focus on training speed & strength to an certain degree, he excelled in training his speed and stamina. Capable of traveling long distances in little time without breaks. This movements translates to his maneuverability as well. The speed at which he punches, kicks, dodges, flips, and dashes are what his entire physical conditioning is about - reaching optimal speed in every aspect of combat. Due to his speed, he was dubbed: [Mist's Bullet].

Steps hold no sound, breath holds no sound, existence can disappear at will. That which makes us shinobi is the fact that a majority of their task takes place in the shadows, and Zaizen has refined and perfected the craft of stealth, lurking within the shadows, hiding one's presence, and covering one's tracks. He can even slow his heartbeat to a near halt, decreasing his body need for oxygen, and hiding his very beat within silence.

As one trained within the shadows, and exemplifying the existence of being one, he is arguably the greatest stealth assassin in his Kirigakure holding the title of ANBU Captain and more. If compared to all in the world, he may just be within the tops. It's even been noted that in a battle of sheer silence, not even the trained Kirigakure can match his lack of presence. This coupled with his physical capabilities is why he's regarded as the [Ghost of the Mist]. He kills at such a speed and moves with no evidence of his existence that one never knows they were killed until he's behind them with a blade in their heart. Even while in actual direct combat, if he's not in view, his presence is impossible to detect via sound no matter how skilled.

Both instinctual & conscience reflexes are beyond staggering. It is this coupled with his speed that he's reached his level of command. Once the mist comes in contact with a person, it will wrap itself around them, rendering even invisible targets, visible.

DESCRIPTION:
By invigorating one's entire body with chakra, a shinobi can seemingly disappear and reappear in another location faster than most people can see. Often times one's movements are disguised with the use of an extra element, be it a smoke bomb, leaves, water, sand, etc. in order to hide the user's trajectory from those with skilled eyes. Though it mimics teleportation, it is important to remember this jutsu merely boosts the agility of its user. As useful as this technique is, it can only be used 4 times in a battle thread, compounding in exertion and difficulty each time. with any more usages beyond that result in muscle tears in the legs from overexertion. The hand seal for this technique must be held until the shinobi reaches their destination, making it impossible to utilize other techniques regardless of any preparation.

This jutsu is recognizable in the aftermath of battle, as it leaves deep gouges in the ground where the razor-thin chakra blades sliced through it with ease during the wielder’s attacks. Toru's clone was not unlike Toru and would react quickly, despite the pressure being applied into the area the clone would utilize quick rotation to get out of the way of the claws coming down on him - quick reflexes and speed allowing him to react just quickly enough to do so before a sword would come unsheathed blindingly fast in an attempt to behead his opponent. Though as anyone else in the pressurized area, movements would be a bit slower unless naturally sped up by some means - such as quick rotation.

Unfortunately at least one of the pieces of gum would hit the clones torso, but it wasn't really doing much aside from sticking and cementing. In this situation it would not immediately disperse since it was not really a hit it was an attachment that would inevitably hinder movement but for now the clone had simply jumped back a bit in an attempt to get away, avoiding most of the pieces...

Toru came to a stop at the voice that regarded him, a hand upon his strongest sword as he exhaled quietly, he was prepared for an attack already. The man moved quickly but Toru's muscles twitched into action immediately as well, defending against the attack as quickly as it had come to parry with a beheading technique of his own. It would lock his coral sword with the others in close quarters.

Steam would rise from the Mizukage then, unbearably hot steam that turned into a surge of red chakra that would violently push any that stood nearby the boy-king away.

As Zaizen charged towards the reforming clone, forming his hand seals, the Sourei’s senses would light up, feeling everything around him from the breath coming from Fugetsu and the big man to the soft tremor of exertion in Fugetsu’s muscles, his chakra waning. Even so, his attack against the small clone didn’t go quite as expected, as instead of chopping it in half it simply burst into pieces once more, showering gummy debris everywhere as he tried to form a hand seal to Shunshin off, this time much closer to him, and with significantly less time to react, all but ensuring he would be gummed up by the material.

Toru’s Katon Clone, however, met with far less difficulty; though he was hit by the gum, it did not hinder his movements enough to stop his blow from landing, cutting into the Shadow Clone and dispersing it in a cloud of smoke.

Unfortunately for the Kiri fighters, both Fugetsu and the big man chose that moment to move in, splitting up again as the small clone began to reform. Zaizen would sense them coming and, if he wasn’t gummed up too badly, have time to warn Toru’s clone, ut that would be all he could do, as the massive tank of a man descended on him, claws flashing as he swiped in a spiraling series of sweeping cuts meant to blow him away- and with his claws coated in a Raiton focused Hien, it very well might.

As for the Katon clone, it was met with a grinning Fugetsu, hands forming the final seal of a jutsu that sprouted a second pair of arms from the young man’s back, which immediately whipped towards the clone swinging wildly. The Houzuki was grinning though, his face a twisted mask of fury and contempt as he said, almost screaming, "What’s the matter Toru? Mommy not here to save you, so you can’t be man enough to face me yourself?!”

The real Toru, unfortunately, had bigger issues than his old friend. Though the old man’s blow was blocked, he didn’t waver, immediately retreating with his Wind Runner jutsu as the boy-Kage exploded with steaming chakra. His face was calm, his lips even twitching in a slight smile as he raised his weapon up in a two-handed grip, funneling chakra into the weapon and packing it tight as he spoke. "My my, the boy spoke true twice. Today is truly remarkable. It's been a long time since I’ve seen that kind of red chakra. I wonder, does the tortoise have fangs? Or are you all shell?”

The old man didn’t balk or falter at the sight; instead, he simply surged forwards again, using the same technique from earlier, but the time he swung his blade down instead of across, unleashing a cutting wave of pure Raiton chakra directly in the boy-king’s face. If it hit, it would surely require him to use more of the red chakra to survive, which was what he truly wanted- a challenge beyond any he could ever face. A worthy opponent, at last.

Zaizen's felt that the Hozuki's chakra levels were getting on the low side something that he picked up on as he cut through the clone, but as he did it burst into pieces again as it exploding the gum everywhere once more with the intend of sticking to Zaizen, while he would have been successful only to be foiled by Zaizen's KKG once more, since he had used it to avoid the explosion of gum last time it lasted barely two seconds he was able to use it again so soon as he had spent little time in it since its last use. So once again Zaizen used his clan abilities to make himself incorporeal once more as the gum had missed him once more and he avoided being hit by the gum. At the same time, he felt with his chakra sensory and the mist coating he had used that the large man and Fugetsu were on the move once more. Fugetsu was heading towards Toru's fire clone and the big guy was heading towards Zaizen charging at him with his lighting-covered chakra claws with his spiralling strikes, but since Zaizen had the advance warning of his chakra sensory and the mist tracking he had set up prior he knew he was coming already and adjusted his movements while still incorporeal obviously in this form he likely didn't have time to warn the clone as he could breathe while incorporeal, but his movements were not restricted as the air pressure would not affect Zaizen in this form, so would have time to ready himself with his sword in hand ready to counter the big guy as he his bonds formed back to normal in an instant.


Using Hiramekarei’s special ability, Zaizen would create a semi-spherical barrier of densified chakra before him as it also grew spike extensions on its surface so that the charging big guy would likely run into them as Zaizen stepped forward with the barrier in front of him shorting the distance between Zaizen and the big guy, while the big guy seemed to be following Zaizen's movements somehow the mist seemed to block his view to a degree so with the mist as further cover Zaizen hoped the man would run right into the barrier with spikes on it or slash away at it with spikes covering its surface and damage himself in the process for added measure Zaizen had stepped forward to reduce the distance between him and the big guy, so he would have less reaction time also.

Zaizen had taken notice of the gum clone reforming itself once more so it was something to be aware of.

Though Toru could not sense things, he could smell them, and well both the big man and Fugetsu had a particular smell to them, something the clone was able to pick up as they approached. The clone was not particularly fazed by any of the taunting words, the piece of gum attached to his chest was beginning to slow him down, which meant it was time to get in close. The arms flailed wildly, and the clone moved his sword in an arc to defend against them, before moving in with a body flicker in an attempt to actually cut down Fugestu once and for all with Iaigiri, beheading him.

Toru was focused, though slightly surprised that the man was able to so quickly dodge the blast. It was something to note, but nothing to be fearful of - the boy king was fast too, after all. He inhaled and prepared for another attack and once it came, his muscles twitched into action, the man would feel the boiling heat near him and touching it would be extremely unpleasant if not perfectly painful. But that was besides the point, Toru moved slightly but convincingly...

It looked like the attack had connected and the young man would let out a cry, there would be blood dripping immediately and a pretty convincing amount too.

It was meant to momentarily bring down the man's guard, just for Toru to disappear to just behind the swordsman and swing as silently as one could imagine and bring the sword down over his head directly into his skull.

DESCRIPTION:
Another extremely simple technique to utilize, but very effective when used under the correct circumstances. Originally thought up to be used on children to help them get over their fear of blood the technique has proven to be useful in combat. Perfect for distracting opponent, putting fear into them or best yet, making them lower their defenses. Someone utilizing this technique can make small or medium amounts of blood appear before the target's eyes.

The user can choose what form the blood takes and how it appears, but it must be a semi-realistic representation. (Meaning no summoning a blood ogre) A user generally will make their own bodies spew blood forward when an opponent makes an attack using a cry of pain as the trigger; with such a trigger the user always tries to dodge as closely as possible so the hit looks to have connected. This makes the target lower their guard by thinking the user is dead or severely wounded.

For all of Fugetsu’s speed, he knew that Toru, even a depleted clone of him, was far faster than he could ever hope to be, so when the boy-kage’s cut came screaming for his neck, it should have been over- but the Houzuki was clever and, beyond that, he had thought ahead. With his chakra waning, Fugetsu let the Seppaku technique dissipate around him, the decreased air pressure allowing one of hi gum arms to rapidly whip up into the path of the Katon clone’s blade, blocking the cut and, hopefully, catching his former friend’s blade in the process. His other gum hand whipped down, forming a fist meant to pummel the clone into dispersing, while his normal hands sped through a series of hand seals, preparing a jutsu just in case.

As for the large man with Fugetsu, his attack was met by Zaizen’s sword barrier, the spikes doing their intended job as he charged forward into them… and kept going, his body barreling forward as if the wounds simply did not matter. His claws flashed in a searing arc as he brought them forward, still crackling with Raiton, and tried to skewer the Sourei with a series of rapid, intensely powerful thrusts that, hopefully, would overwhelm the man before he could properly react.

Toru’s genjutsu, though clever and well executed, failed to fool the old man, his eyes immediately shifting away from the false image of blood and death, following the chakra with his senses. He rotated quickly, bringing his weapon up in a flowing block that deflected the boy-kage’s strike to his left with only a modicum of difficulty, opening him up for a counter that came screaming in with everything he had. That the burning heat from the boy’s chakra cloak was causing his skin to blister and crack seemed to have no immediate effect on the old man, as if he felt no pain at all.

He still swung with the same intensity and power as before, slashing across Toru’s open chest and funneling Fuuton chakra through the blade as he cut, enhancing its raw attack power many times over. If it hit, even the Jinchuriki cloak Toru had wouldn’t be able to dull the blow enough to stop it from hindering his movements- it was unlikely to kill, but that was immaterial. It was a step in the right direction, and that was all he needed.

Zaizen felt the large man run right into his chakra shield with spikes he had created before but instead of him being defeated the man kept going, with the intent of getting at Zaizen with his sharp-bladed strikes. Zaizen would not simply stand around to be stabbed to death by this man so using his great reflexes he was able to dodge enough to create a little space between himself and the large man. Zaizen also felt the air pressure returning to normal assuming it had run out or some other means. Zaizen could keep up with this man with his own natural speed and Zaizen had the reflexes to dodge most things but still, he didn't want to keep this fight going forever as everything had a time limit Zaizen was not immune to this either. So having created a gap using his reflexes Zaizen simply held a single-hand sign with his free hand as chakra flooded the man's body and in an instant Zaizen simply vanished before the large man, by now Zaizen had caught on to that the man had been tracking Zaizen by some means while he didn't exactly know the method it would be unwise to simply teleport behind him as he would likely predict it coming. So Zaizen simply moved away from the large man to create a distance between himself and the large man as he reappeared behind the larger man but with some distance between them probably 30 meters or so.

It was time for one last face-off with the large man as Zaizen simply held his blade out in front of him. Then within his other hand a lightning chakra lance started to form within his hand, the jutsu required no hand signs which made it one-of-a-kind jutsu and useful in this situation. Then his blade would start to extend its own range like before extending its range to fifteen feet. With his sword in one hand and thunder in spear in the other it was time to end this once and for all. Zaizen simply started to charge toward the large man turning the table on him as Zaizen had the heart of Kiri in his chest and this man needed to be put down once and for all. So as Zaizen ran he would first throw the spear toward the large man using the [Piercing] version as the running throw with the spear would help it along its way with the aim of striking down the large man once and for all and at this range, it would be hard to avoid with its speed. For added measure, Zaizen would continue to run towards the large man as well hoping to meet him head on if the spear didn't finish him off Zaizen would swing his weapon at full speed, shifting directions of the strike mid attack. In mid swing, Zaizen will immediately redirect in almost an instant to another direction as he attempts a multi-directional shifting strike from multiple angles. but one that had an extended range of fifteen thanks to his blade's extension.

[Sensory Capabilities & Awareness]

The ability to detect/sense other's presence by their chakra. Zaizen is particularly skilled at sensing other individuals, capable of sensing/tracking a chakra signature over five kilometers. He could also discern between various populations, capable of pinpointing their country of origin. It was this very ability that enabled him to know that his son's killer derived from Konohagakure. Zaizens also has the ability to sense passively for a one kilometer range without the need to concentrate a great deal. It can be used to sense if his natural senses were blocked somehow.

He can also sense his immediate surroundings at all times, this in conjunction with his quick reflexes allows him increase his evasion rate.

[God-Like Chakra Control Prowess]

It's difficult to describe his control over his chakra. It is as if the chakra itself is his very breath. He can manipulate it to such a degree that every technique is perfectly executed with zero wasted chakra yet potent enough that the maximum potential of that technique is always released.

Zaizen is quick. His dashing movement mimics shunshin no jutsu, and while utilizing Shunshin no Jutsu, his speed reaches a level rarely seen, due to few being able to see it. It isn't an understatement to say he is one of, if not, the fastest Kirigakure shinobi of his generation. While most focus on training speed & strength to an certain degree, he excelled in training his speed and stamina. Capable of traveling long distances in little time without breaks. This movements translates to his maneuverability as well. The speed at which he punches, kicks, dodges, flips, and dashes are what his entire physical conditioning is about - reaching optimal speed in every aspect of combat. Due to his speed, he was dubbed: [Mist's Bullet].

[Silent Killing Mastery]

Steps hold no sound, breath holds no sound, existence can disappear at will. That which makes us shinobi is the fact that a majority of their task takes place in the shadows, and Zaizen has refined and perfected the craft of stealth, lurking within the shadows, hiding one's presence, and covering one's tracks. He can even slow his heartbeat to a near halt, decreasing his body need for oxygen, and hiding his very beat within silence.

As one trained within the shadows, and exemplifying the existence of being one, he is arguably the greatest stealth assassin in his Kirigakure holding the title of ANBU Captain and more. If compared to all in the world, he may just be within the tops. It's even been noted that in a battle of sheer silence, not even the trained Kirigakure can match his lack of presence. This coupled with his physical capabilities is why he's regarded as the [Ghost of the Mist]. He kills at such a speed and moves with no evidence of his existence that one never knows they were killed until he's behind them with a blade in their heart. Even while in actual direct combat, if he's not in view, his presence is impossible to detect via sound no matter how skilled.

Both instinctual & conscience reflexes are beyond staggering. It is this coupled with his speed that he's reached his level of command. By invigorating one's entire body with chakra, a shinobi can seemingly disappear and reappear in another location faster than most people can see. Often times one's movements are disguised with the use of an extra element, be it a smoke bomb, leaves, water, sand, etc. in order to hide the user's trajectory from those with skilled eyes. Though it mimics teleportation, it is important to remember this jutsu merely boosts the agility of its user. As useful as this technique is, it can only be used 4 times in a battle thread, compounding in exertion and difficulty each time. with any more usages beyond that result in muscle tears in the legs from overexertion. The hand seal for this technique must be held until the shinobi reaches their destination, making it impossible to utilize other techniques regardless of any preparation.

DESCRIPTION:
Requiring no handseals. The user generates Raiton Chakra, applying shape manipulation, that chakra is then condensed and formed into a 7 meter long lance. This lance can be thrown, however, despite being physically thrown, it's actually propelled via chakra acting as a incredibly fast and long ranged projectile. The user throws it which gives it a specific command upon launch, this enables it to have varying effects on desire.

The spear gives off a static sound when created and thrown, removing it's capabilities as an assassination technique. Max Range for any projectiles is 100 Meters, before dissipation.

[Piercing]: The user launches it as a piercing lance, which penetrates defenses of equal or lesser rank. With this, it's speed is at its highest, making it incredibly hard to dodge at close to mid range. [Used this version]

[AoE]: The use launches the spear as an paralytic device, when it lands upon an object, it expands as a electric net over the surface spawning 15 meters in diameter with the point of impact acting as the center. Any living existence that touches it will receive a large electrical surge which acts as a temporarily paralytic. This can last from 2 post to 1 post time, depending the distance from the diameter. If at the center, or touched directly, 2 post paralysis is achieved, if at it's mid or outskirts, only a 1 post paralysis will occur.

[Controlled]: After launching the spear, the user produces the [Tiger] hand seal. This will allow the user to manipulate its movement, however, effectively cutting it's speed to enhance it's mobility and maneuverability. Allowing it to be easier to dodge.

The clone had come in close on purpose, it was an ultimatum move. He would either take out Fugetsu with this one strike or Fugetsu would attempt to take him out and that would ultimately be the Hozuki's undoing. The sword was caught, the bubble gum arm swinging in an arc to pummel into the fire clone that upon its dispersion erupted into an inferno. The entire area would come alight at the intense blast that could only come with the destruction of such a high rank clone. Indeed, the Hozuki in his bubble gum state would be caught in that blast radius and perhaps to some extent Zaizen and the large unknown man too...

If Zaizen was careful he might be able to avoid it. If not, well he would not be walking away without any burns.

Toru would feel his chakra replenish as he went to act, slightly annoyed that his little trick did not work as he had intended. With the way the man had noticed his approach and the way he reacted, Toru knew that casting Kirigakure no Jutsu would do no good here, this man was a sensor. But it also meant that when it came to chakra supply, Toru would outmatch him.

The young leader was not so easily parried, in fact he dragged the length of his blade down the parry to carry it through so that he would not lose his balance. The tip would touch against the grassy ground carefully, whilst his opponents blade was coming down to try and collide with his head.

Toru's cloak was capable of defending against legendary blades, this would be no different though he did not dare let the sword get close enough to actually test the matter. Instead the back of his cloak transformed into two hands that clapped against the force of the blade coming down to stop it entirely in its tracks.

Once stopped, Toru would perform a quick rotation to step to the side and out of harms way before reaching to clap his palm against the upper half of the man's back with a two-part intention: to send him forward, off balance; to create coral on his back that would begin to grow over his body to weigh him down and slowly immobilize him.

Because these clones are Shadow Clones, they retain the ability to think, react and perform techniques on their own, with independent chakra systems. When struck however, these clones explode in a large inferno, presumably burning all around it and setting alight anything in the area.

Chakra is focused to a certain part of the body, usually the palms or fists. Once the powerful blow is delivered to the target, coral begins to grow from the point of contact. The coral is durable, heavy, and hard to break.

The rank determines the durability and rate of which the coral grows.

At B-Rank the coral is extremely difficult to break with even a powerful strength enhanced punch, most shinobi cannot manage it without significant talent and power. The coral grows to cover to cover about half the body from where it starts before the growth expires - takes five rotations.
