Raika is a little confused about the situation as it happens almost directly in front of her, though she'd deactivated her Byakugan earlier, so she had little to no insight into what exactly their plan was. It only seemed a bit odd that the med-nin suddenly seemed to take a particular interest in her temporary fellow physician, but Raika wasn't about to try any funny business to get to the bottom of it; it likely wasn't going to be any of her business, and the last thing she wanted to do, especially with an allied nation ninja, was seem overly nosy and inquisitive. While all ninja probably were rather nosy to some extent, they had to pick and choose what they were curious about.

She doesn't talk back to the instructor when he pulls her aside for a third patient while Mitsuki is given an order for retrieving a blood bag for a transfusion. It's not her place to question it, and someone had to go and get the blood bag, after all. While she and the med-nin conversed, Raika watches the whtie-haired woman leave, but then is fully refocused to their final patient. The change that she sees from Mitsuki when she returns is particularly surprising, as she'd wondered if Mitsuki had been ill before due to how pale she was, but now she looked vibrant and full of life. Her eyebrows furrow, but even now, Raika avoids utilizing the Byakugan, even if it might have given her some insight into the Shitai anatomy. Instead, she whispers to the other woman somewhat surreptitiously.

"You've gotta tell me who you get your make-up from after this!"

She couldn't help but blush a ltitle after this request to Mitsuki, as she's thinking about Hibana and Tokaku when she says this. After all, a woman often wants to look good for her significant other, and Raika has two.

Whatever apprehension Mitsuki had felt while she was off on her brief sidequest came cresting to a crescendo as she rejoined Raika at the final patient’s bedside. Had their instructor said anything to her while she was away? Would Raika know what she had done, and think her disgusting, shameful, monstrous? But instead the other woman only leaned in to surreptitiously ask for make-up advice, and all of Mitsuki’s anxiety was whisked away. She smiled, happier than she had any right to be—whatever Raika did or did not know, suspected or did not suspect, her clear respect for Mitsuki’s privacy was immediately and irrevocably endearing. "Just some basic products that my clan produces,” she whispered back. Having such a large hand in the death industry incidentally also meant having significant investments in cosmetics—they were an absolute necessity for open-casket funerals, after all. "I can show you after this, if you’d like… Raika-san?” Her given name used hesitantly, but sincerely. Rejuvenated as she was feeling, Mitsuki felt more than capable in assisting both Raika and their instructor conduct the blood transfusion—though she refrained from participating too much in direct engagement with the patient, timid as she still was, it was obvious that her mind and mood were both much clearer, her actions less hesitant as a result. It wouldn’t take long for them to care for their final patient, and after a quick debrief with their instructor to make sure they had both retained all the necessary information from the day, he would let them go. And, if Raika was interested, Mitsuki would be more than happy to show off her make-up bag to her new friend. [exit.]

Raika smiles excitedly when she hears Mitsuki use her given name instead of her last name this time around, and the offer to show her how to apply that make-up is also a big step towards more friendly interactions. Although she seemed somewhat repressed during the blood transfusion, Mitsuki is definitely invested in the work, and Raika doesn't seem to mind how repressed she seems to be in regards to the job; after all, she was doing the work that was necessary, and that was really all that mattered in terms of their medical work. She also seemed perfectly knowledgeable, so there was nothing to make Raika feel she wasn't at least as good as she was when it comes to the care of their patients.

With a final check of their retention of the training they'd been engaged in nearly all day, Raika eagerly follows after Mitsuki, smiling brightly. Such a clear show of happiness was rather rare in the more reserved and muted Hyuuga clan, but Raika seemed like an outlier in many ways when it comes to the norms for her clan.

"Hey hey!~ I'd be glad to take you up on that offer earlier, Mitsuki..."

Of course, Raika not using honorifics was a mostly moot thing; she didn't really seem like the type to use them, in the first place. She doesn't make an immediate move to take hold of Mitsuki's hand, though, as she's aware that the Kumogakure ninja was rather reserved, and although Raika was rather forward and friendly, she at least seemed aware of limits and boundaries.
