It is to the point of stalwart domination of the art. Because of this, an extension of his terraforming metamorphasis abilities and sensitive touch has elevated his Doton abilities. Equal to his Sensitive Touch's passive sense range Hotarubi can form Doton ninjutsu in that area as opposed from himself provided the area has usable earth material (rock, mud, earth, etc) and use that to attack from. Where a projectile naturally projects from elsewhere: an obelisk in the shape of Hotarubi will rise from the earth with its palm outstretched and perform the technique, before returning to the earth. Naturally, this slows down the process of techniques being performed. Not by a great deal: but when Shinobi move as fast as they do, every second counts. [Dust-Covering Technique] Combining his unique combination of abilities with the ability to sense the world around him through vibrations, and the use of his earth terraforming abilities, and ability to mould earth without the use of handseals, he has developed a supernatural ability akin to the Ichibi's automatic sand defense. When an attack is perceived toward Hotarubi, an automatic earth shield of rock and dirt rises to shield him from it for the absolute bare minimum of chakra. This can happen even if Hotarubi is not looking at an individual, and is reliant on his ability to sense and perceive things that could be considered an attack. (i.e. the vibration of an arrow being notched and let loose) - this shield is not perfect, unlike the Ichibi's, and so more earth is required to more 'completely' cover a direction, however - it is much faster. In addition, the rock and dirt is just that: it is not a 'end all' defense, but is durable against Shinobi weaponry, buffering explosions of standard ranks, and some types of techniques. A/N Probably would be approved? Each other personal technique will also be vetted as well if it were... Doton Engineer From knowledge/training or whatever, personal doton techniques made by Yamakira Hotarubi don’t require the same restrictions as other personal techniques. A/N: Not likely to be approved because it could be perceived as 'powerplaying' to do this. Possibly. Earth Emperor's Domain With his noted proficiency and actively capable abilities revolving Doton, Hotarubi has a domain over the element bordering on god-like. Not only can his chakra exceedingly empower and reinforce the earth, but acts as a domain. If anyone were to attempt to use a Doton technique near, or at him, they would find the result moot - as he can freely control their earth release techniques as well A/N: Not likely to get approved because of this could be considered an attempt at circumnavigating the Yamakira weakness. [Fullrock Alchemist] Inside the mechanics of the Yamakira's hijutsu is that while they are undeniably susceptible to Suiton, they are preserved against natural water because they, in essence, have a thin 'shell' that covers them - an exoskeleton that is what usually requires Raiton to break them down before Suiton to stop them from reforming. Hotarubi has taken that one step further to cover himself in a thicker exoskeleton of the doton element, and specifically closer to an 'appendage' and armor than made of itself. That being said, this exoskeleton is stronger, and closer to steel. ... bla bla A/N: Probably not because it's an obvious copy of the uchiha 3rd tomoe which is a kekkai genkai that uses 'chakra mimicry' as well as the visual stuff Dojin-Born Because of his doton prowess on account of his Yamakira physiology, his quick terraforming abilities and through his vibration sense, he has combined his memory and other abilities to quickly reproduce other's techniques. Once per page in a thread, Hotarubi can copy, much like a Uchiha's third tomoe, a Doton technique. He must be in combat and personally witness, visually, the handseals and/or actions taken in order to create the doton technique. [One with the stone] The most "Yamakira" of them all, Hotarubi has transcended the ability to "be" doton and has, "become" doton. One with the earth, he no longer needs to breathe, sleep, eat, drink, he cannot be poisoned and cannot be hurt by physical means. Most crucially, having advanced to the next step in evolution, he is also eliminated his weakness to Suiton - and can reform his body through any type of mudiness. That being said, going too far gone in that direction has meant untold consequences. Hotarubi cannot use any doton jutsu, and therefore relies upon any of his terraforming (internal) abilities again. (OOC: Hotarubi is now rock-borne and no longer has a weakness to Suiton. As a result, Hotarubi can now no longer use any type of jutsu, while still being vulnerable to Genjutsu and Fuinjutsu and may only use his Terraforming SA and select Yamakira techniques [ones that rely upon metamorphasis of the body; projectiles would not fall under this scope]) Ejection A unique technique that only Hotarubi thought to apply, and one not conventionally found because of the Yamakira clan ideology. For a very high sum of chakra, but no handseals, Hotarubi can fire a small projectile the size of a marble a great distance. This is not an offensive technique but is actually an "iota" of Hotarubi's essence. Essentially, it's a getaway technique. If Hotarubi is at danger of perishing, even if his "main body" dies, he can reform around this small marble and as long as this iota isn't destroyed, he will reform at a later date (around a week.) It not something that would exist normally, because of a Yamakira's usual lack of fear, or of being craven. [A/N: Hota can already do this, but this would formalise it] Mountain-Fists Hotarubi has been able to seamlessly blend his terraforming abilities with his taijutsu. As such, he has learned how to harmonize blending ninjutsu with Taijutsu. (OOC: Can cast ninjutsu during Taijutsu fights seamlessly) Non Doton Focused Projectiles Hotarubi has become extremely versed with throwing things with precision. Using a combination of his strength and knowledge, as well as his 'sensitive touch' helping to inform him where people will be as opposed to where they are (and are moving) any projectile that he explicitly throws whether metal or earth, is done so with vastly increased speed. A thorn in my side Hotarubi is, in some senses, a tyrant. Rather than being the bigger man as Hotarubi is literally made of mud, he'd rather bring you down into the dirt with him and then beat you with experience. Hotarubi has become increasingly, and effectively so, a ruffian. He has learned how to use words to see into people, and to tear away their armors and bring them off balance. (OOC: Hotarubi gets psuedo-insight/psychology into other PC personalities and, without metagaming, is able to dig into someone's flaws, insecurities, etc to wind them up). Jutsu Ideas
