Risi is quite surprised to see that Yamatsu is crying once he turns his attention back to the shorter Genin, and he tilts his head a bit in surprise at the sight, wondering if he'd done or said something that had perhaps tipped the other teenager off. Perhaps he'd done or said something strange for most Kumogakure ninja and now he would be caught out... But no, it seems that he hadn't done anything to make Yamatsu question his sincerity, even his own inward sincerity when he'd felt that he might have some feelings beyond simple familiarity and compassion with Yamatsu. He certainly hears Yamatsu's grief in his words, and he's momentarily at a loss for what to do. Someone breaking down in this way was not really a common scenario when it comes to spy work, but Risi had to do something.
Risi wasn't really certain why he felt he had to do anything; he'd barely met Yamatsu, and now the teenager was smashing his hand into the wooden patio under himself as he cries out in his grief and sadness, but Risi still felt his heart breaking at the sight. Without really thinking about it, he moves to his knees next to Yamatsu, putting his soft hands over the boy's shoulders and trying to comfort him. This was almost certainly far outside of his training, and his mask was slipping now as he relies on what he feels the need to do internally, rather than what he needs to do in order to keep up his artificial appearance of camaraderie. Once he hears Yamatsu's apology, Risi gently rubs his back in a big, slow circle. Despite his short size, Yamatsu was slightly more built than Risi was, as the Genin's feminine form made himself quite slight in terms of body proportions.
"Shhhhh, shhhhh... It's okay, Yamatsu. I can tell you're in pain. I know that, all right? Here, let's get you inside..."
With that, Risi helps Yamatsu up and away from the view of the twin mountains that the sun had disappeared behind, quite like a metaphor for his parents and their passing looming over the young man, but hidden from the view of others. Risi wonders at why he's doing so much to help this stranger, but he feels he needs to help this friend of his, though he internally feels more for Yamatsu than he really might for just a friend. He leads Yamatsu back inside, towards what he presumes to be the bedroom, and he can feel his cheeks flush as he approaches one of the few rooms in Yamatsu's home, wondering what exactly he might find in such a place, and if it might have been cleaned as well in preparation for his arrival.
Which leaves Risi disappointed when he opens the bedroom door to see that it's not quite clean, but he keeps that look off his face with very careful facial control. Instead, he tries to lead Yamatsu into his own bed where he can gently hold the other Genin without the hard wood of the patio making it uncomfortable and likely painful.
