Although the stresses of a long tenure presiding over Hi no Kuni and its citizens had done it's fair share to age Naozone Ametsuchi II, it never touched his caring heart. From a young age, a considerable love for Hi no Kuni filled the future Diamyo, motivating him to use the levers of government to pursue an agenda that serves the citizenry. Among countless faces of history, even within his own dynasty Ametsuchi II will always be remembered fondly. A man of the people, expert in law and legislation, and a man of logic- the Second of his Name has passed knowing that his work has brought Hi no Kuni into a golden age of prosperity. The fairest of leaders, and the best of men. He will be missed.


[Background]:

• First born of his father, the Daimyo Shigemori Naozone, in the winter of year -73 and named after his great grandfather Ametsuchi I.
• At the age of 9, his imperial studies commenced with scholars being hired from all over the land to impart their knowledge on the young prince. Noted to not be a particularly talented pupil, but admired for his interest and determination.
• In adolescence, watched legislative discussions between lawmakers in imperial palace and became versed in argument.
• Sent off by father to tour Hi no Kuni extensively for immersion training to acquire understanding of the various parts of the country. Exposed to strengths and weaknesses of the nation, and develops appreciation of its unique dynamism. Reports back to Daimyo periodically with suggestions about how to bolster nation.
• Returns home and gets married to fair maiden of reputable lineage. Becomes a father for the first time two years later.
• Day preceding death of father, is anointed as Daimyo of Hi no Kuni. Pursues mostly centrist policies and noted for his historical relation with Senju Naoko. Decades of stability and prosperity are ushered in. Acquires respect and trust in most circles.
• Bucks dynasty tradition by appointing last born daughter as heir. Criticized by old guard, indifference by most.
• Passed in his sleep at age 83.

Yamaji Masami was a simple man. An experienced Sailor with a strict code, big muscles, and a bigger chip on his shoulder; Masami was known to be the type of person you wanted leading and protecting your ships, but not the guy you wanted to go drinking with. Despite his lack of a personable nature, Masami ran Port City well while he lived, earning the respect of all those who made their living in the trading hub. This of course made his death all the more suspect when, after reportedly being lost at sea with no witnesses, any requests to search for the body went unheard.


[Background]:

• Born out of wedlock, Yamaji Masami was left to fend for himself from a young age. A slight lisp and perpetually closed right eye earned the young boy the mockery of many- which eventually lead to his discovery of his penchant for a rather nasty right hook.
• By 13 the one eyed child had quickly hit puberty and turned into a giant of a man, six feet tall with arms the size of tree trunks. Masami earned his living hauling large amounts of cargo in Port City. The teenager became famous for doing three times a normal man's work load, and for his ability to scare others into increasing their own work ethic.
• By adulthood, Masami was rich enough to by his own vessel, the Ninth Circle, which he and other strong men used to protect local shipping vessels for a large fee.
• Becomes the cause of the Port City Rampage, started by a scuffle between him and a member of the Port City Mafia.
• Over the years, Yamaji Masami gains a reputation as a tough and inspiring leader, and is declared head of the village despite his annoyance.
• On a cargo trip alongside a new merchant crew, the Kyuudaimaru returned without its captain. Any attempts to find the body were quickly abandoned, and those who look into this topic seem to disappear or abruptly cease further investigations.

Okamura Magobei lived a successful but uninteresting life. His death was unexpected for one so young, but life is often such a way. A happy and joyful man, Magobei often tried to convince others of the value in smelling roses, and from such a personality it seemed inevitable that he would become the leader of a vacation hot spot. Never having once made an enemy, Okamura Magobei was to many a walking embodiment of great times in life. He will be missed, but none can say he did not live life to the fullest.

[Background]:

• Born to parents of no note, Okamura Magobei spent most of his life playing with others, and traveling from place to place.
• By 16 Magobei gains a reputation for his strong and durable body, taking far more drinks to knock out than even the largest adults, and still having boundless energies. Even during extended visits to less sanitary areas like Kawa, Magobei never grew sick or seemed to loose his energy.
• Some time after the Third shinobi war, Magobei convinces several citizens to set up residents at what would eventually become Rizōto.
• Shortly after this, Magobei is declared leader of Rizōto, and through marketing of the location alongside his famous attitude- leads the village to prosperity.
• On a whim, Okamura Magobei goes on a drinking binge across various bars in Rizōto. Seen drinking with royalty, nobodies, and everyone in between- Magobei disappears after leaving his fourth bar. The leader of Rizōto is found dead on the side of the road liver failure. No unexpected toxins were found in his system.
