It may have seemed an odd request but there was good reason for it that should Ameko succeed would become apparent soon. Asahi would monitor the girls progress as she took slow, calculated steps up the tree. She had gotten the hang of it but wasn't haughty enough to think she could perform the technique without giving it all her attention. Eventually the genin would reach the top and grab a couple of coconuts before leaping off the tree back onto the ground, an act that was probably filled with more relief than anything else. "Great work, looks like you've got the hang of things." Asahi would speak as he took the coconuts from Ameko.

He'd place one on the ground while holding the other up to his ear and give it a couple knocks: hollow, but not empty. Whipping out a kunai the man would quickly slice through the top fourth of it exposing the white innards but most importantly the refreshing juice that resided within. "Reward for a job well done." He'd say holding the coconut out for Ameko to take. A couple moments later and the same fate would befall the other one leading to the Kyokujitsu taking a long, kinda messy sip. It was always awkward without a straw. "Hard to beat after a good day's worth of training. All things considered I'd say you've got the concept down, just need to make the feeling more second nature so you can move around a little quicker and in turn will let you focus on other actions and the world around you."

Being able to help bring up the next generation of shinobi was something that Asahi took pride in and he had flirted with the idea of maybe leading a team one day, but he felt that he still had quite a bit to learn before being entrusted with such a duty. Granted, guarding the Kazekage was no little endeavor but if push came to shove they could actually defend themselves for a bit.

"Thanks,” Ameko responded, both in response to the praise and to the offered coconut. It was only as she looked at the refreshing liquid inside the fruit that she truly became aware of just how tired she’d become. By all accounts, the amount of chakra the jutsu required was likely nowhere near that she’d funnelled into it. But she was comparatively amateurish, and it fell well outside of her wheelhouse when it came to skills. Her efficiency had been poor, but that didn’t matter at that moment. She’d done it, and earned herself a reward in the process. Her sip from the coconut was messy, and a significant portion of the liquid splashed over her face and trickled down her chin. The water was sweet, and it quenched a thirst that was only becoming more apparent as she drank. She took another deep gulp, yet more coconut water covering her face with the action. Ameko smiled at the special jounin, "Thank you. I mean that, yeah, well and truly. I appreciate the work you put in to help me get to the top of the tree.” Asahi had been a lifesaver, having been patient with her failures, and even yet providing further advice as to how to continue with her training. Like all things, muscles, techniques, skills, she would need to practise it, continue with it until it became second nature. But she’d got the basics down, and it was thanks to the shinobi before her. Maybe ninjutsu wasn’t entirely out of her grasp afterall.
