The men fell limply under the barrage of glass, the few still alive groaning or harshly breathing. Kiyoshi turned back to his bodyguard, and the prisoner. "Kill them, or restrain them, it doesn't matter much," The Kazekage brought their large dove back to life with a hand pressed against the glass. "the Daimyou's men will be here by dawn." Kiyoshi explained.
"All the stragglers will be arrested, likely executed anyway. Just make sure they can't fight back for a few hours." Kiyoshi took Gen'ichi and loaded him up onto the dove, waited for Asahi to finish up with the stragglers, whether he chose to kill them, maim them, or otherwise. With Gen'ichi physically lodged into place, clutched by the dove, they soared off into the sky once more.
They drifted north for a while, looking back at the smoke rising up from the islands. "Good work today," Kiyoshi told Asahi with a smile. "I think we'll work together just fine. Should be back in Sunagakure before too long." He turned to look down at Gen'ichi.
"You, though, my old friend," the Kazekage laughed. "You'll never the see the desert sands again. The Pit would be too much like home for someone like you, and I don't want traitors polluting our air. I've got a nice place picked out for you - somewhere no one has heard of, somewhere where you'll never be heard from again."
They turned west, flew for a few more hours before a large island appeared on the horizon - nominally unclaimed, it sat in the middle of the sea between Kaze no Kuni and Cha no Kuni. The dark green mess came into focus as they came closer and closer - the island was covered entirely in thick jungle, but of a type utterly unusable for lumber. Uninhabited, it was never deemed worth attempting to clear, leaving it unwanted by all parties save for Kaze no Kuni.
Truly ancient stone poked up in certain spots over the canopy as they flew lower and lower, before eventually a half-constructed black glass dome appeared. Kiyoshi brought them down into it and they landed. A set of four men stepped out of the pitch-black of the dome and the jungle, wearing black and tan uniforms, along with blank white masks, unadorned save for two slits for vision.
Kiyoshi hopped off the dove into the beam of light that broke through the canopy, the scent and sounds of the jungle nearly overpowering. "This, Asahi," he said as he freed Gen'ichi from the clutches of the dove. "is a little project of mine. SABU. But this place," he said, gesturing to the forest and the massive half-completed dome. "has no name."
He beckoned him to follow, as the four men took hold of Gen'ichi and wordlessly led him, and them, into the darkness. A glowing dove rose from the dense jungle floor to light their way, illuminating half-completed glass cells and all manner of interrogation rooms. "Gen'ichi here gets to be the first resident. These men are rehabilitated members of Squad 88 - now, Unit 808."
