YEA!

The Yutakako would mentally holler with excitement. She had finally made a hit. After all of this dodging and sneaking around, she was finally going to get some burns in there. The fire would seer the girl. The second lizard would come in and grab her. Then she’d detonate th-

Wait.

Upon the first lizard exploding, the Nohime’s body flew away from her. Keiko understood that her lizard explosions had some force, but she didn’t expect the girl to get that far away from the simple explosion. Keiko had little to no understanding of exactly how Yoshiko was flying. Neither would she have understood that the girl had made herself even lighter and less forceful. All she saw was a girl flying away from her and the explosion. Needless to say, the second lizard missed the girl’s form and now was the only remaining reptilian fire form. Seeing as it’s pathway had continued downwards, Keiko roped it back upwards so that it wouldn’t send itself into a river of water. It would then waddle itself along the air almost as if on the surface of the river and race itself back to be at Keiko’s side.

By now, the flung Nohime was possibly fifteen... maybe twenty meters away? Damn this girl and her distance. A lizard at her side, watching a floaty girl across the water of the river, still somewhat in the air, Keiko did what she tended to do. Go in head first. It didn’t always mean she would try to gain close proximity, but in this case, her friend lizard’s pair was gone. That left her to be the substitute. The lizard a little more than a meter to her side and about a meter in front, the duo rushed for Yoshiko. Only would they part ways when the lizard would have to climb in the air to get to her.

Yoshiko wasn't fairing well in this battle of distance and wasn't able to close the gap, she was already bewildered by the flame jutsu of her opponent. She expected nothing like these flame lizards from anyone without good chakra control. She knew Keiko hadn't mastered Bakuton from simple rumor among similarly aged youth she knew, but her assuming this girl couldn't do the feats she'd seen. It put her at a horrible disadvantage, she didn't enter the conflict free of mind. She was doomed the whole time, but taking a step back, she'd attempt to see the whole image now.

This girl had more meat on her than Yoshiko, her stature was more threatening as well, but her ninjutsu defined the fight. Yoshiko brought the battle to the river hoping a genin would struggle to hold a long fight on such water. She believed foolishly as her opponent not only managed without a sweat, she did so with a barrage of jutsu. "I can't let you betray my father unpunished!" Yoshiko would cry out as she'd pout unable to smile, she didn't ever see her father as tyrannical, but he'd always treated her like a princess. She didn't know a dark side to her father, she just knew she had a caring father.

Yoshiko glared her charging opponent down, as tears slipped down her blackened cheeks, she should a slight tremble from the pain of the first attack. She didn't want to lose though, so she'd attempt another attack, she'd do so in manner she escaped, as she'd funnel chakra to her lightened weight kicking off the ground with as much chakra as she could disperse from her feet without technique. She kept in mind her enemies pet, however she'd be able to focus on both as they hanged together.

Yoshiko quickly cast the replacement technique again[Assuming it fades after not going off?], she'd do so while trying to clear the distance between her and Keiko before Keiko could send the Salamander to clear a greater distance, it'd be at a close range Yoshiko would attempt to throw two shuriken, each to either side of Keiko, as they'd fly a third would trail behind strung by shinobi wire. The hope being the two shuriken would wrap around Keiko when the wire met her body. Either way Yoshiko assumed she'd have no chance of going un-attacked, so completing her replacement took priority in this grab.

Forward. Faster. Keiko pushed herself onwards towards the Yoshiko girl. Running over the water, directing the lizard beside/in front of her, she kept her eyes on the Nohime Princess. She was the target. The one she was after. The one she had to overcome. She was sent here to accomplish a task and Yoshiko’s presence stood in her way. Had Yoshi let her have the river as she had initially claimed, then there would be none of this. And the Nohime could have gone on her way. But Keiko wasn’t about to let the Yutakako down.

The words that met her ears from the recovered girl surprised her. Breaking through the determined look of taking down her target, for a small bit of time it may be observed that she didn’t quite understand where the cry about her father came from. But as the words settled in, Keiko smiled. A sort of understanding smile. No real cruelty within it for her opponent. She was doing this for her father. Nohime for Nohime. Keiko knew that sentiment well. She was here for her family. For her clan. Everything she did was for them in this war.

"All for the Yutakako!”

Keiko would answer with her own warcry. This wasn’t personal against the Nohime. They each had their drives behind why they were here. A newfound respect for her opponent was found, but that wouldn’t stop her from giving everything she had. Yoshiko recovered from the blast throwing her, taking little time in shifting her direction and forcing herself into a charge at Keiko. The girl had been near the shore after the explosion, Keiko having only been fifteen or so meters from the shore in the first place. It made no real difference whether they were on land or water, not immediately in Keiko’s mind. Though... if she had thought about it more there should have been glaring advantages and disadvantages.

The girl's use of the light weight rock technique shot her towards Keiko, closing the distance and providing both girls with the close proximity they wished. Keiko did have the advantage of throwing her lizard ahead at a speed greater than her own, the lizard lunging for Yoshi much the same time as she threw shuriken. The close distance of the throw gave her the advantage of possibly having the lizard succeed in grabbing Yoshiko. Though... the unknown speed of that increased rock tech could prove an issue.

On her own end, she didn’t seem much concerned about the shuriken. At first. Her instant thought was to just let the first two pass her by seeing as they were poorly aimed. Then skirt the third one by getting to the side. It wasn’t until the last moments did she see the sparkle of wire trailing along these shuriken. Eyes widening slightly, she went with her original plan anyway. While it didn’t immediately occur to her that the wire might bind her arms, them being elevated to guide her lizard forward and up at Yoshiko, made keeping them out of the way of the incoming shuriken all the more helpful.

Skirting to the side to try and miss the center shuriken from hitting her, she would be unable to move fast enough. The shuriken would meet with her right side of her abdomen. But... it didn’t sink in? Perplexed, the still rushing genin glanced down in a fleeting moment of confusion. The shuriken had just barely pierced her clothing. The wire of the other two spun around her, effectively tying three shuriken around the abdomen of the Yutakako. But there were no injuries that worried her.  The light weight rock technique effectively lessened the ability of Yoshi to provide force.  With its heightened state, the force was that more negligible.  So while the shuriken flew at Keiko like speeding bullets, they had the effectiveness of a feather.  Leaving Keiko with little to no injury.

Confused as to why this was, but not caring to figure it out, Keiko moved onward and pushed herself harder to get closer to Yoshiko and catch up to her flaming lizard who had begun its attack. There meeting if they continued onward would still be on the river, though shallow it was, seven or so meters from the bank and stone Keiko remembered oh too well. Her one hand was still directing the lizard for the lunge to Yoshiko. With the other hand she would begin to untangle the mess from her own self.

Yoshiko would head first charge into the lizard as if to tackle it's tackle, she'd however vanish with the collision, as her body was replaced with a wet large rock. She'd replaced herself in the blink of an eye, her body now a shorter distance to Keiko. However she knew she wouldn't have much of a surprise, as her emerging from the water in place of the rocks old position would come with a splash. She didn't want to risk getting eaten by a single katon jutsu, but she didn't have a good idea how to attack at a range.

In the very momentary opening of surprise Yoshiko followed her splash by drawing her fake shuriken and throwing it at Keiko. She'd however create a hand sign to ignite it mid flight, so that it'd explode close to Keiko's position even if it wasn't dead accurate on her. It wasn't a real shuriken after all so it hitting otherwise would of been pointless. Hopefully the quick spark ignition and soon explosion would distract Keiko, as Yoshiko wasn't interested in giving Keiko breathing room.

Her feet trotted out of water and placed her back in the air, as she'd shake the weight of water off her. At the same time though her hands which finished throwing the shuriken immediately started forming hand seals. "Nohime for all..." She'd reply with a pout and serious glare, she'd always helped those she knew and she'd been taught to do so by her family. Her family was formed of the skilled shinobi who helped put Iwagakure where it stands, it helped all the villages including Yutakako. Yoshiko's sense of betrayal only continued to down sweep, but it was a civil war not a friendly dispute.

Upon completing her hand signs shortly after starting them Yoshiko would form a shadow clone, she'd immediately step into it's summoning cloud, as her hand slipped an explosion note into the back of her clones blouse. Both Yoshiko's would then split up popping out of the cloud from opposite sides, as they'd charge out they'd also charge in Keiko's direction. Each trying to go to the opposite side of Keiko from the other, but both kunoichi would also reach for their remaining shuriken and one at a time whip them towards the Yutakako enthusiast.

NAME: Kage Bunshin no Jutsu [Shadow Clone Technique]
RANK: B
CHAKRA USAGE: Medium
CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu [General]
ELEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION:
Kage Bunshin is a Jounin level Ninjutsu technique. The normal Bunshin technique creates a copy of the ninja that lacks any substance. The Kage Bunshin distributes the ninja's chakra evenly among the clones and creates a real copy with form and substance. The clone itself can also utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows, as well as their kekkei genkai. When the clone finally disperses, any new knowledge it has gained along with it's remaining chakra are passed back to the original ninja and any additional clones. This makes Kage Bunshin an excellent training method if the ninja has the chakra capacity and stamina to maintain the Kage Bunshins for an extended period of time. This allows the ninja to essentially reduce the time it takes to train and learn with each clone added. This is especially true when used with Tajuu Kage Bunshin.

Again! It was going to be a bright and fiery day for the Yutakako! She could feel it now. The lizard’s arms encircling the Nohime, it blasting into a grand view of color, heat, and fire. Imagine her disappointment when her lizard latched onto the Nohime and a cloud of smoke appeared. The hint of the smoke not boding well for her made Keiko slow her rushing pace. It being a rock created a further dislike of the situation. Where had the Nohime gone? Disconnecting her salamander from the rock before it splashed itself back into the water, Keiko found her target first with a sound. A splash of water not connected to that of the falling rock. Her eyes instantly locked on the Nohime’s position.

She was closer. Aim her salamander for Yoshiko. There was a projectile. Need to avoid. Keiko instantly kicked off of her left foot to get out of the way of the flying weapon, or at least attempt. In these brief moments she also sent her fire salamander lunging with its adorable waddly self towards the Nohime as quickly as it could muster. Then there was a spark. One that Keiko knew all too well. It had similar intentions as her own jutsus. Fire would come next, or an explosion. The kicking herself to the side would turn into a dive roll. The exploding note shuriken blasting mere meters from her. The blast forced the girl forward in her roll as well as ignited some of her clothing. Rolling in water tended to put the flames out but minor burns would cling to her skin. Fortunately, this pain was nothing new compared to her training with Ryu.

In these same moments of attempted evasion, the salamander had been rushing Yoshiko. Just before its masters fall, she would detonate it on command as well. Two exploding forms within the same arena at the same time. At its explosion, it would likely deliver similar damage to Yoshiko as it had to Keiko. The distance from her original position to her new one wasn’t nearly that large that it wouldn’t have gotten within its five meters blast range. But also likely didn’t gain the distance to latch to her.

The Yutakako looked slightly less pleased by the surprise of the shuriken. Sneaky. Lie. Cowardice. How her clan viewed such nonsense. She knew that others were not above it, but it still rattled her irritation. Bringing herself to her feet with chakra focused upon them, she’d slice the remaining wire with the shuriken she had claimed around her middle and bring them to her right hand. Then, much as Yoshiko had done before, she started weaving hand signs with shuriken in hand.

The mockery of her clan name had been missed. The glaring red eyes of the young girl focused on the shore. Keiko would view the summon being made, Yoshiko slipping into cover to try and further deceive her. Finishing her own preparations, she wasn’t even ten meters from shore when the duo began rushing her. It was then that she activated her jutsu. One that the Nohime would have seen before. Fireballs formed quickly and effortlessly, the girl moving her hands as if launching each one forward. Five towards the one Yoshi. Five towards the next. Back and forth until there were a hundred fireballs in all. These ones came in a line. One right after the other but even barely so. Keiko would have aimed to follow their movements, though the first set would have been dead forward. In the second set for the Yoshiko on her own right, she would fling one of the shuriken she had acquired. In the fifth set to the Yoshiko on her own left she would fling another of the shuriken she had acquired. These would be hidden within the flames of the incoming fireballs.

She was not pleased. So much so that she didn’t move an inch from where she had stood. Bits of hair being charred and matted. Burns to her clothes and some reaching as far to melt bits of fabric to her skin. The incoming shuriken she didn’t dodge. Let them come at her. Let everyone come. They would hit her in the right arm and left side of her abdomen, though making minimal damage from the light rock technique. The Yutakako would barely notice. Her attention on the two identical girls and making sure to hit them with fire.

Once out of a hundred fireballs, she would refocus her katon chakra.  Another few handsigns.  Begin a new thought. Except the main one would still be.

Let them come.

The blast from her lizard had not done much to delay the Nohime. While the blast was enough to singe a few more hairs, cause a minor burn or two, and send her hurtling a ways, it merely assisted her in getting to shore. There she did her technique of summoning a clone of herself. The girl couldn’t even face her alone. The deceitfulness was getting on her nerves. The trickery. The mockery. Everything the opposite of what she had always known.

The two Nohime came closer and closer. Desperately trying to avoid the onslaught of fireballs that Keiko had thrown forth. With their great number in time a fireball would hit, making the clone and real Nohime hesitate enough to be bombarded with fireball after fireball. Small but in enough doses could cause a significant amount of burn. And these two were not avoiding most of the fireballs. Caught in her bombardment of katon, Yoshiko and her clone would be worse for wear. Not to mention a fiery hot shuriken lodging itself into the stomach of each Nohime. But the battle was not over. They had already indeed closed some of the distance between them at the shore and where Keiko stood on the river.

She had done what she originally intended. Attacked the Nohime with a large quantity of fire while still letting her come with her irritating ferocity. Her lying Nohime face having pushed forward to get to her, even if the fireballs had weakened that resolve or direction. While she may not be exactly in Keiko’s face, she was certainly close enough for what the girl had already planned.

Let them come.

The preparations and handseals already complete. The forms that Yoshiko would have been so familiar with appeared again. Between the two Nohime. Keiko couldn’t tell the difference, but the lizards would be summoned under a meter of both the clone and the real girl. But no sooner would they form, would they blow. A blasting mess of katon to shake the waters and take her opponent down. The irritable eyes and expression of the charred genin had only one thing in mind still.

Let them come.

Yoshiko's body wasn't that strong the barrage of fire especially in her light weight sent her back, she'd be cast into the river her and her clone defeated. The clone dispersed and Yoshiko no clearer alive than dead, it was clearly an ended battle though. Yoshiko hadn't wanted to see two civil wars, she didn't want to fight comrades or traitors as she wanted to call them. It wasn't long ago she had a nightmare about her father and her peoples end, but the proud talk of kinsmen made her think the war was something to be more optimistic about.

It might of been for the best she'd lose this one, as the it was probably the harsh lesson she needed, to see the error in her fathers ways. However she'd been built-up and raised by her father, she couldn't actively betray him or proudly fail him. Her heart was broken by her villages disloyalty, her soul crushed by her inability to protect his name and her pride in tatters drifting down the river. Her father was raising her to be something and maybe that something wasn't what she was meant to be.

Yoshiko unconscious still cried as she drifted down stream, her soul was unable to be incapacitated, so it drove her body to almost reflexively wain in her defeat. [Yoshiko Exit Thread]

A hit that Keiko had so desperately wanted. In her silent rage, she had set her lizards to explode at a near distance to both Yoshikos and not so distant from herself either. The blast blew her back a bit, sending her off her feet and into the river behind her. She’d rise quickly enough, not really close enough to suffer from the main fire of the blast, though she had gained a few more sensitive spots to her face. The clone had been dispersed and the remaining one was the Nohime Princess.

Keiko on her feet now, she’d approach the Nohime with an irritable strength. She would make sure this fight was done and over. Looking down at the pale Iwagakure shinobi, the charred burns from the blasts and a tired girl near her age. She was definitely out cold. Giving a sigh, Keiko would bend down to grab the girl before she began floating down a river to who knows where. While she may have been shorter, she had a bit more weight on her than the thin Nohime. Hoisting Yoshiko’s arm over her shoulders, she’d try to get her a little farther up onto her shoulders and get an arm around the girl’s middle. Grunting a bit, she’d go to cross the river and head towards Iwagakure. For now the river was claimed. Keiko was tired and she was beginning to feel the effects of using so much energy and chakra against this girl.

She’d get another Yutakako to take over her assigned area. Keep the river safe. For now... she’d take this shinobi home. While Keiko didn’t fear death, she didn’t find a need for it at this time. Enemy for a fight, but she was still devoted to her clan and her father. She had picked her side and her loyalty. Yoshiko was her own kind of different, and shouldn’t be punished for that.
