If the village is being adequately managed in these essential areas, it should, in theory, be capable of withstanding an internal, or external threat. Our shinobi should be capable of acting like a cinderblock dropped against a fragile china set, breaking those who mean us harm seamlessly. These scenarios, however, may depend on methods which are more indirect. For such a calamity to occur, the aggressor must have felt a relative level of confidence or familiarity with the begin to initiate the move.

To take them off guard and regain the high ground, we must rely upon means which are unorthodox, and this may merely mean rearranging strategies we currently have at our disposal in a new sequence or doing away entirely with old ideas and accepting what is new. Sensible ideas when applied and put into competent hands be bountiful as the stars in the night sky, or the greenery beyond our village walls. Like day and night, they end only to begin anew, and like the ever-changing seasons, they wane just to return when the time is right. When positioned with inexhaustible resources and a competitive advantage garnered from proper leadership, there should be little reason why creativity does not flourish.

Whichever one eventually decides, it should be one made with decisiveness. In peacetimes, a lull can be appreciated. However, it should also be known that whoever arrives first in the battlefield and awaits their opponent's arrival will be well-rested for the fight and those who are late will have to hasten and tire themselves before fighting commences. Therefore the clever combatant imposes himself on the enemy and does not allow the same to happen to him. If one is too busy reacting, they will find themselves in trouble. If they are the one deciding, they will be in control.

One should seek to antagonize their foes when they can. Doing so while tempting opponents can draw them into places where one can hold out their advantages. If attempting to avoid a skirmish, terrifying the opponent may drive them away or make it impossible for them to draw near. Strive to be in areas where the enemy must hasten to defend and leap to points where you are not expected. The may be well organized, and superior in several aspects, but this should not make one discouraged. If all else fails, Our Lady said if one can identify the opponent's source of joy and destroy it, this is how wars can be won. This is how to kill a soul.
