The volleys of flames flew, searing the misty air before colliding against the water. The hiss of boiling water escaped the area of impact, away from Rokurou but still close enough for him to heat and be struck by the raising vapor. Despite all, he could say that his new acquaintance was progressing at a fast pace after he had giving him his pointers on how to improve his walking on water technique. He would continue the barrage, trying to press him so he would be more comfortable, so that nature would, for the lack of a better term become something that would feel almost subconscious for him.

"Good." He said as he gave him a small window of recovery before he would make continue with the barrage, this time flames would fly, searing the air once more, but as the flames flew true, bright as molten gold the Senju would flick another set of hand seals and the flames would be accompanied by the forceful speed of a gale, the golden flames became a blur, the flames striking the quiet water with the strength and speed of a rolling thunder. He continued the barrage, aiming closer and closer to the young man but still away enough for him to not be harmed unless he stumbled upon the flames itself.

The barrage would continue to intensify, Kazuto doing all in his power to sped up the rate of fire of the techniques and blasts of flame would violently impact on the crystalline surface of water, creating a hissing steam that would impede the vision of the Gure. The intensity it wasn't unlike what he would find in the actual battlefield and he wanted the Gure to understand that, to see that his effort was headed to aid him in the moment that he would actually require to traverse the midst of a heated battlefield.

Water hissed and the lake started to fill with steam and a mist of water vapor covered the area soon enough. Roku did his best to evade and dodge, all the while trying to shift his chakra to fit the state of the water underfoot. It was hard... He sank down into the water more times than not, but over all, he remained upright and, most importantly, above water. Slightly out of breath he turned on his heel to look at at Kazuto when he lethim have a moment of reprieve. The praise made the edges of his lips quirk up slightly and the fact he was soaked, thanks to Kazuto, didn't quite matter so much anymore.

Then the next round came. The hail of fire came and Roku did the dance once again, this time the attacks came faster and faster, leading to Roku picking up the pace, stumbling more, and his brain seemed to do the same. The buzzing was never far from Roku's mind, but the pressure to perform and not... mess this up infront of Kazuto.... It made the buzzing louder and eventually Roku found himself throwing himself out of the path of a fire ball.

For a moment he forgot he wasn't on the ground and as he collided with the surface of the water, he went through, inhaling and paddling to get back up to the surface. Treading water for a moment he looked much like a small dog, which had just been betrayed by its owner and thrown from the pier. Coughing and blinking water from his eyes, he focused his chakra to his arms and hands, using the surface of the water to pull himself up and out of the water, shifting the chakra coating to whatever bodypart used to support him until he was on his feet once again.

Large eyes looked to Kazuto, was he going to fire another round of fire at him? Or... Was this is? Had he managed to fail it?
