"Well I guess it is better sounding then team N.U.K.”Satoshi would pipe in humorously as they began making their way to the mentioned area. From what he had saw while he was talking was that both of them had been quick on the uptake and could see the doubt in their eyes about parts of the mission. Not that surprising over all but good to see nonetheless.
Seeing as he wasn’t questioned he could reasonably guess they were all on the same page and that meant that they would be able to not be blindsides as much as long as that suspicion held even the tiniest bit as they went on.
As they walked the nara couldn’t help but crack a grin at the tales Ayukawa was weaving as it made him remember the feeling of when he had first learned the techniques as well.
"The feeling of those first few moments standing on the water is pretty awesome. It was a great moment until my own teammate back then decided I was too cocky for getting it down first and tackled me into the water. Lakes in autumn can be a bit chilly let me tell you.”The memory of his first team still stung a bit but well it had already been some times since then and talking about memories from back then wasn’t as bad or hard to speak about anymore. Satoshi hadn’t really noticed it until now or at least fully so he did make a mental note about it before switching tracks back to the matter currently.
He had a bit of idea of who lady Kasumi was and from what he knew that was somewhat promising. He wasn’t exactly fully sure on how things were internally in the Saeko clan beyond what he had looked into on his own and what Konoha had. He knew from experience that while clans shared a lot of things with the outside there were still some internal nuances that never moved beyond clan walls. Still it was probably pretty good that she had met the woman.
As they reached the place where the most attacks happened and his eyes roamed the clearing he noticed a few of the signs of attacks but not as many details as probably someone trained in tracking could have. His sensory did pick a signature in range though and it wasn’t currently moving. It could be unrelated though and he would see if in the next few moments it would move at least in any direction.
It being not relevant option was crumbling as Ayukawa mention that whatever had been here recently was moving south and incidentally enough towards the direction the chakra signature was.
"South huh? Well if you sure we’ll follow the trail but be both of be on your guard. For now, Ayukawa make sure too keep on the right track.”After saying that for the most part he would begin heading south and towards the chakra signatures general direction but shifting his course should the Suna genin correct the pathing. They could have tree hopped and done the tracking from there but if his hunch was correct that wouldn’t exactly bait an attack on them as easily.
Keeping his eyes open as they moved between the trees Satoshi was able to spot something constantly shifting and adjusting to be in his peripheral version following them. He was not sure if that was the exact animal Ayukawa had mention or another one but it seemed they had a shadow. The others would have probably begun to notice it as well.
"We are not alone. Do nothing for now but be ready though.”For a few moments he would do nothing but just walk following the trail left until there was finally a change. The signature that he sensed had finally started moving and it was coming towards them at a steady pace.
"So that’s how it was huh.”With that final internal confirmation in his head the nara could finally start taking some actions.
"I’m about to startle whatever has been following us and direct it towards you both so you can take care of it. More are coming so better to take care of this one now.”
As soon as he finished saying that Satoshi blurred and disappeared from view. He would reappear in front of the beast while quickly reaching and throwing a kunai in its direction. It was startled for sure but it’s eyes and the reaction itself was strangely not animal-like as it instead leapt back.
Not exactly how he had expected to guide it but it was now in a space where both genin would be able to clearly see it. The predator was a larger feline that would probably reach around Satoshi’s own waist height wise and was probably as long as he was tall. Its fur was reddish in color and its general form had a strong resemblance to a panther and a jaguar mix.
The animal was clearly on edge and ready to act yet it still didn’t move first and looked like it was assessing the situation.
Jutsu Used:
NAME: Shunshin no Jutsu [Body Flicker Technique]
RANK: D
CHAKRA USAGE: Low
CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu [General]
ELEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION:
By invigorating one's entire body with chakra, a shinobi can seemingly disappear and reappear in another location faster than most people can see. Often times one's movements are disguised with the use of an extra element, be it a smoke bomb, leaves, water, sand, etc. in order to hide the user's trajectory from those with skilled eyes. Though it mimics teleportation, it is important to remember this jutsu merely boosts the agility of its user. As useful as this technique is, it can only be used 4 times in a battle thread, and any more usages beyond that result in muscle tears in the legs from overexertion.
SA :
Kagura Shingan [Kagura Mind's Eye]
After exploring his innate sensory abilities and thanks to his perfect chakra control Satoshi was able to unlock the Kagura Shingan. This ability allows him to find, sense, and track individuals through their chakra over vast range that exceeds ten kilometers. His able to achieve this effect by focusing and opening his mind's eye, though due to the low chakra cost Satoshi is able to keep it active passively at all times (Range is 15km) and increase the range even more with the use of the jutsu(25km). The ability also extends to telling when a person is lying from the fluctuations in a person's chakra made from dishonest emotions or detecting if someone, including him, is under a genjutsu. Also by focusing on a particular chakra, Satoshi can perceive its location and movement with great detail allowing him to track the movements of even those that are faster than him.
