The sky was clear as Kazui laid in the middle of the trading ground, the wind blew a cool breeze across the field, and her attention was solely at the the book that rested gently in her hands, hanging over her face as dark hues scanned the page word for word, her mind absorbing all of the stories, plots, and lessons that the novel offered. The young girl wasn’t too fond of novels that didn’t provide much for her knowledge, but this book was interesting, and the story has her hanging on her seat as she anticipated everything that could possibly happen, both the expected and the unexpected.

A sigh escaped her lips as she flipped the page and noticed that she had started a new chapter.

"Perhaps this would be a good place to stop for now.”

The little Uchiha would say to herself as she sat up in the grass and closed the book firmly. The girl then shuffled through her pouch, placing her book in the place that she always had it located, so that it wouldn’t get in the way, incase she needed to quickly grab ahold of a shinobi tool to aid her in whatever situation she might have found herself in.

As the young girl sat up in the grass and tried to place her book in the right spot, she noticed a bunch of chatter off in the distance. She sighed as she turned her head and stood to her feet.

"What could possibly be going on in this training ground?”

The young girl would ask herself as she began to make her way over to where the noise and chatter was coming from. It could have been just a bunch of genin being trained by their team leader, or a bunch of academy students holding class outside for the day so that that could have more space to spar and train with one another. The idea didn’t seem too far fetched, except she knew that it couldn’t be genin team. She could discern multiple voices being different, and unless there was a multi member squad, then that explanation was out of consideration.

The more the girl thought of what could possibly be going on, the more curious she became. Her pace picked up as she made her way through the bushes and trees, trying to hurry as quickly as she could to get to the source of chatter. The closer she got the more she was able to discern the words that they were saying.

Were a few of the words that the young girl was capable of discerning from the rather large crowd. She drew closer and closer as she she closed the distance, she noticed that there were a lot of genin and academy students, even a few chuunin alike all gathered around in a circle, surrounding this large area of the training field that seemed to be blocked off by the sheer number of bodies that were present. What was going on? Was there some kind of performer? Was there a fight breaking out? The girl’s mind raced as she completely closed the distance between herself and the crowd.

Kazui managed to get to the source of the chatter, but wasn’t able to exactly see what was happening behind the tall people that occupied the area. The young Uchiha jumped up and down frequently trying to increase her height if only for a brief moment. Up and down she went constantly but to no prevail, the people in the crowd were much too tall for her to be able to see anything pass the multiple heads of hair that obscured her vision. Cheers and jeers could be heard by the crowd, which only made Kazui even more curious than she was before.

Kazui would lightly tap a boy on his back to gain his attention, but he was too focused on whatever was going on up again. Perhaps she needed to try again, and so she did. Her soft hand tapped gently on the flak jacket of the boy as he continued to look on. Still no response. The young girl gritted her teeth and clenched her fist tightly as she stood behind the crowd of people.

"What the hell could possibly be going on over here that all the people are gathered in one spot watching on like a bunch of crazy people?”

The girl would mumble underneath her breath to herself as she placed her hands together, her fingers created a point as she stretched her arms out in front of her, jamming her hands in between the multiple people, she would begin to force herself through the thick crowd. The Uchiha would bump multiple people on her way towards the other side. She didn’t apologize, mostly because no one was paying her any attention, and in fact she was being bumped into as well. In her mind however she would apologize, for it seemed rude what she was doing. ’Excuse me. Pardon me.’ She would think to herself as she mustered her way through the people.

The young girl eventually broke through the crowd, squeezing herself between the bodies as she stood at the front, overlooking whatever was going on. Her eyes shifted back and forth, she couldn’t exactly see anything, it was just a large area of space and grass that the people were staring at, at least that’s how it seemed to be. But as the Uchiha listened closer and closer to the sounds, she could hear the sound of metal clashing with one another. Was someone fight? Her eyes continued to shift and look for something that could tell her what’s going on, and as she did so, the sparks from the kunai clashing with one another could be seen faintly as it seemed to skip around the area. Her gaze eventually ran along the side of the crowd, and she noticed a familiar face, so the girl began to make her way over, trying her best not to bump into anyone as she walked over.

Standing next to her friend, Kazui would tap him on the shoulder to grab ahold of his attention.

"Kazui!!”

He would say excitedly as he turned and faced the young Uchiha. The girl would greet him with a weak smile and wave, as she always did.

"What brings you here?”

The boy would ask Kazui without taking his eyes off of the fight. It was obvious that he was extremely invested in what was going on, but Kazui wasn’t able to see clearly what was going on. Instead of speaking however, the girl would just point her finger towards the open area. The boy would smile as he assumed she was there to watch the spar as well, but Kazui’s words would inform him otherwise.

"What’s going on?”

The Uchiha asked as her eyes shifted from the training field to her white haired friend. The boy would laugh as he placed a hand on the girl’s shoulder. His arm eventually wrapped around the girl’s shoulder, gently pulling her a bit closer to his face as his eyes diverted back to the action.

"Well there’s a fight, well….a spar. Between two high class jounin.”

The boy would explain as he pointed his finger towards the open space that seemed unoccupied at first glance. The Jounin were moving at such high speeds, that it made Kazui incapable of perceiving their movements with clarity, which was why the girl was oh so confused as to why a group of people were gathered around ooooh-ing and awing at nothing.

The young girl would say as she rested a hand gently beneath her chin as her eyes remained on the field in front of her. Now that he told her what was going on, she still couldn’t see anything which made it useless. She was going to complain, but before she could do so, Utakata would open his mouth to explain.

"Ya see..”

He would start briefly before taking a moment to scratch his head. How should he put this. A slight chuckle escaped his lips as he smiled and shrugged his shoulders.

"Well, how do I put this. They’re moving at such high speeds than rookie ninja like us have no chance of perceiving them.”

He would explain as a single figure swirled around in a circle, gesturing towards the entire crowd being lost in what was going on. One moment they saw the two jounin, the next they didn’t.

"There are a few people here that..can..see them. And you would be one of them if you had the sharingan you know.”

He would say jokingly with a smile as he pointed towards her eyes, which made the young girl squint a bit. Kazui had completely forgotten about her clan’s abilities, and it wasn’t by chance or accident, she mostly steered away from thinking of it just because, but he did have a point if only she had the clan’s ability.

Kazui folded her arms across one another as she turned her head away from the Hatake boy and scoffed. He always wanted the girl to awaken her sharingan, which he knew she didn’t enjoy thinking about. But if no one could see, how did they know anything was exciting. The girl sighed a breath of annoyance as her gaze was redirected to the battle field.

"Whatever.”

The young girl would say as she folded her arms across one another and rolled her eyes at the white haired boy that stood beside her. The girl wouldn’t acknowledge much of the boy's foolishness, instead she would turn her attention back towards the two jounin that were fighting. She would lean forward a bit and squint her eyes trying to catch even the slightest movements that she possibly could.

"Woah.”

The girl would mumble softly to herself as she continued to watch on. ’Damn they are fast.’ The Uchiha would say as she tried her hardest to keep an eye on them. Eventually the two elite ninja would slow down the pace, they knew that an audience was growing so perhaps they should show off. While they slowed down, they were still moving at insane speeds.

As the young Uchiha paid closer attention to the Jounins’ bodies as they zipped around the battlefield at such speeds, the girl came to conclusion that the two men were focusing their chakra throughout their entire bodies, which was making them move at incredibly ridiculous speeds that not many were able to perceive, let alone watch along with much clarity. Thankfully they were beginning to slow down, but watching them (or trying to) was a good exercise for the girl’s natural perception.

The girl’s head tilted ever so slightly to her comrade that stood beside her, her eyes remained on the two Jounin, but her attention was split between the fight and her friend as she talked.

"They’re using chakra to amplify their movement speed. It’s like it’s amplifying their natural abilities tenfold.”

The girl would explain without removing her gaze from the action. It was fun seeing such a battle, but the action eventually came to an end, and the two jonin would form the unison sign to one another as they bowed to the crowd that cheered them on.

"I can do that..I think.”

Kazui would explain to her friend as she placed a hand beneath her chin. It didn’t seem like such a hard concept to grab especially since the girl had been practicing nonstop, she was almost certain that she would be able to pull it off.

"With my chakra control, it shouldn’t be too terribly difficult to get a grasp on.”

She would add on.

Utakata folded his arms and placed a hand beneath his chin as he pondered the girl’s words. His gaze shifted up to the clouds above before eventually returning to the dark gaze that Kazui wore as a part of her Uchiha heritage.

"Huh. Is that so?”

He would ask with a smile on his face. The crowd around the two soon began to dissipate, most people followed the two jonin to wherever they were going, but Kazui and Utakata both remained.

"Yeah. I’m pretty sure.”

The girl would explain softly as she shrugged her shoulders. The girl was very comfortable with her abilities to learn, and was very confident in herself. There was no hesitation in her voice as she answered the boy’s question. A smirk grew on his face as he took a few steps away from the young girl as he threw his hands in the air dismissively.

"Well let’s see what you got then!”

The boy would say with a smile as he continued to give Kazui some space. He would soon begin to stretch his body, something that he usually did as he prepared himself for a battle of some sorts. A sigh escaped from Kazui’s lips as she lowered her head. The boy always wanted to spar in some way or fashion, Kazui couldn’t act surprised however, she was already used to his shenanigans.

"Fine..”

Why was he always such a fan of spars? The girl would question herself internally. He couldn’t just believe the girl and go on with his day. Kazui shrugged her shoulder internally. It was better to have someone to push you than to just be helpless, she supposed. The girl would take a few steps back as she stretched for a moment. She hoped Utakata realized that she was no longer an academy student, and that he was going up against a much more improved version of Kazui.

A smile remained on the boy’s face as he allowed Kazui to take her time. The girl closed her eyes as she focused the chakra throughout her feet, ankles, calves, hips, and thighs. The power could be felt, and from that moment she knew that her prediction was correct. She figured that would be the case, thanks to Yusaku’s explanation on how to increase her speed that he had given her when she was a student at the ninja academy. However, as quickly as she felt her body being energized, the chakra simply faded away just before she could initiate the technique. This was a common problem that Kazui had when she learned new techniques, it never seemed to fail.

"Darn. Let me get another try.”


The girl would say as she started the technique all over again, this time she would focus more on maintaining a decent amount of chakra throughout her body instead of trying to focus it on only her legs. It would require a bit more control but it felt as if were working. A sigh escaped the girl’s lungs as she dashed forward with extreme speed at which Utakata had no chance of reacting to, it wasn’t like he tried to anyway. Her hand shot into her pouch, and quickly equipped herself with a Kunai in which she held up to the boy’s stomach, stopping inches away from him.

The girl would explain as she held the Kunai tightly, expecting the boy to retaliate in some way. Instead the boy threw his hands up above his head and chuckled.

"Well. I’m sold….I quit.”

He would say. Kazui would be shocked for a moment, but didn’t complain about the boy’s reactions. Instead she would place the kunai back into the pouch. She thought for a second she would have to kick the Hatake’s but just to make him give up, luckily that wasn’t the case this time. Laughter soon escaped the two as they began to walk off. Being with Utakata was something that Kazui genuinely enjoyed, even though the kid was very very annoying. Nonetheless they were still best friends sort of kind of, even with the girl going through everything life’s thrown at her, the boy never changed the way he looked at her and for that she thanked him.

"What do you say we go to the library to see if they have any new editions of novels we like..well..comics for me, novels for you.”

He would ask in laughter. Kazui would shrug her shoulders and follow along. She supposed going to the library with Utakata wouldn’t be such a terrible thing considering that they were interested in different things, nonetheless it was still fun to be accompanied by a friend.

"Sure.”

She would softly answer in return.
