Gengutaika is so rare that many people believe its existence to be a rumor. Due to a genetic anomaly, that alters the cerebral nervous system by overwhelming it with spiritual energy, Gengutaika turns its user into a living illusion (composed of only spiritual energy). Gengutaika has pro and cons that are dangerous to the opponent and user. The pros of Gengutaika are phenomenal. When activated, Gengutaika emits a barrier of spiritual energy with the user at its center; unable to be penetrated by anything lacking physical energy. The barrier is 20 meters in all aspects (diameter, height, width, etc.). With the exception of the user, those who enter this barrier are embedded with spiritual energy that attacks their cerebral nervous system, and causes psychosomatic disruption. Once psychosomatic disruption occurs, any illusion created by the user can cause real damage to the being affected. Due to the user becoming a living illusion, their body becomes intangible. Being intangible, the user becomes unable to be hit by anything except Ninjutsu and Fūinjutsu. Lastly, Gengutaika causes the user to awaken three unique traits: Illusion Awareness, Illusion Immunity, and Illusion Manifestation. With Illusion Awareness, the user is able to detect when a Genjutsu is being used. With Illusion Immunity, the user is unable to be affected by Genjutsu. With Illusion Manifestation, the user can create any type of illusion within the spiritual barrier surrounding them. The cons of Gengutaika are disastrous. Once Gengutaika is activated, it cannot be deactivated until the user runs out of chakra or is knocked out. Gengutaika constantly and rapidly uses the user's chakra to sustain their illusionary form and the spiritual barrier. All illusions created using Gengutaika require double the amount of chakra it would usually require (based on technique ranks). Despite, and due to, being a living illusion, the user of Gengutaika can still be affected by Ninjutsu and Fūinjutsu. The user of Gengutaika is fatally weak against techniques that absorb chakra. The user of Gengutaika will unable to use Taijutsu and Bukijutsu until they materialize. The user of Gengutaika automatically materializes every 5 minutes for 5 minutes (every other post). Finally, any Genjutsu affecting those who escape the spiritual barrier are immediately dispelled. Long range fighters and techniques are best suited to fight anybody using Gengutaika.
