Hoist the Colors! , B RANK MISSION Hakurei's attack connected with Saiko's clone and proved particularly effective, the Hyoton from his fist freezing the clone and then shattering its side in the same maneuver. That clone dispelled, too damaged to maintain her existence, and the remaining water fell to the floor of the vessel.
That victory was short-lived, as Hakurei was zapped by Chie, struck by a thundershot that would be leaving his muscles zinging and his ribs more than a little sore. In the aftermath of the attack, he prepared two clones, one to contend with the remaining water clone of Saiko, and one to give chase to Saiko herself.
Luckily, Kyoya dispatched Saiko's second clone before Hakurei's clone could even engage. This meant that the two could more easily work on fighting off the archer pirates in tandem. Between the cutting power of Kyoya's feathers and Hakurei's strength, the two archers would fall readily. Now the ship was both sinking and aflame from Kyoya's attacks - the second problem would soon be solved by the first, but it also meant staying aboard the vessel was no longer an option.
This effectively blocked off an easy exit route for Chie, but she did not want to leave her captain alone or die with her ship. She would raise her hands into a triangle formation, generating chakra between her fingers before firing off an electric bolt. More than trying to hit Hakurei directly, she wanted to use it as cover for an attempt to dive off the side of the boat. If she could succeed in this maneuver, she would give chase Saiko, hoping to join her in capturing the vessel.
Up ahead of her, Saiko was still making a dash across the open water towards the boat. It had begun to rain more heavily now, obscuring vision and rippling the surface of the roiling water. Looking back at the clone pursuing her, Saiko would scoff.
"You've really quite the annoyance," she would call to him over the rain. Skidding on the water's surface, she would form several hand seals, then place her hands on the water.
The water around Hakurei's clone would begin to swirl, creating a whirlpool that would attempt to drag it down deep into the water.
Kyoya took flight from the pirate ship to make his way back, but flying in the rain was unenviable and as the wind picked up, it would be slightly more difficult for him to return.
Hakurei's own return trip would be blocked by the whirlpool being generated in his path. Did he want to take the long way around, or have some other solution?
Reiji, naturally, could see this all from the stern of the commandeered merchant vessel. The water was becoming unsteady and the crew aboard the ship increasingly nervous. Would he get involved with the battle or attempt to calm the civilians at the helm?

DESCRIPTION:
This technique is probably one of the most basic Raiton Jutsu out there that deals with actual lightning. The user will first perform the needed hand seals in order, then make a triangle with both their hands with the finger tips as the vertex and two thumbs acting as base. After which, the user will then begin to focus their Raiton Chakra to the Single Point while targeting the opponent within the open Triangle palm as they begin to channel chakra to the mid-point of the triangle. Then user will then pulsate a single bolt of lightning towards the opponent. The damage the bolt can deal is substantial, able to scorch a tree while leaving a dent at full power.
