Ryoko opens her eyes after a moment, a little surprised at her present positioning. She’d barely felt anything until she started moving more swiftly upwards.
While she was low to the ground and mostly upside down, it wasn’t a view she was completely unfamiliar with. Ryoko had logged a lot of hours flying, however never in her human form. She breaks her hand seal and reaches out with her arms quickly, flailing them, and her legs, about frantically in an attempt to right herself. She’d never manage to do so, floating with negative buoyancy she was heading ever skywards and no amount of her flailing would move enough air to actually help her change position. She was not a bird!
She goes still and manages a good snicker as Yoshiko calls her graceful.
"Oh yeah, me and the chickens, just the epitome of grace in motion.” She cackles quietly, ever amused even if she’s the butt of the joke.
She remains calm and listens. What her sensei said made sense, just the way buoyancy worked. She would have tried it herself, but the older girl was nice enough to correct her roll. Once upright once more, with her feet drifting down towards the ground, she draws her left hand up and flicks through the increasingly familiar hand seals.
She focuses on her own chakra again, evening it out and spreading it throughout her body. She evens out her density again, removing the extra weight from her feet and ceasing the descent. She’d float with the wind for a moment.
"
So, I want to make the front heavier and the back lighter, so I move towards the weight? I dunno if I can use Futon, I’ve never tried. I can use Katon, though!” She could, too. She didn’t think a fireball would help, but unleashing that jutsu was still new to her, and she found it particularly thrilling.
She does as she’s instructed, adding a bit of weight to her head and making her legs a little lighter. She pitches forward easily, and manages to make some forward progress, but continues to pitch forward. She starts flailing again, upside down for a moment, but soon enough finishing a full circle.
She stops herself there, laughing cheerfully over the whole situation. This was a lot of fun, even if she was failing. Still, this wasn’t flight. Ryoko knew flight, she’d soared on thermals dozens of times, and this wasn’t that. This was floating. Futon probably made this a lot easier.
"
So like.. " She forms a single seal once more, and evens out her density, leaving just a little extra in her feet. The next moment she increases density right in her abdomen, trying to reclaim her normal center of balance. She begins to descend a little but then she removes the weight from her hands and feet, and stretches her arms out to the side a little.
After a moment she laughs again. "
Hang on, this actually feels more like swimming now..”
Indeed, she continues making minor adjustments with her arms and legs, treading air, as it were, to keep herself upright. She leans a little left, draws her right hand in and stretches her left hand out, and starts drifting, slow but steady, in that direction.
