The Quick and the Rabid

"Hold still..it will be okay..." The group had not even begun their operation when a traveling party had already emerged from the forest. The attack placed upon them was savage, the creatures having attacked them near merciless. Considering the information that they had been given, the party involved wasn't exactly as unknown any longer. Wolves... Though not the ones loyal to her husband, she had seen such beasts in action before not far from her former home. In the end, the ones responsible were the least of their concerns. She had known beasts to attack when threatened or someone had stumbled upon their territory, but this was purely out of rage. Focusing her attention upon the wounded, her eyes narrowed as she began to work on healing them as best she could, hoping that her signal to alert the medics within the hospital would be heeded. There was little time for these men and women, and they had to be swift before they fell to their injuries. This was the reason why they had been summoned in the first place. The attacks were organized, and the thefts that followed after them made it even more likely that the wolves were not acting alone. Though who could tame such beasts? For that matter, what was gained by an alliance? At least for the wolves themselves? Her hands resting upon a young man's chest, Miho would charge her chakra into the form of a white orb, pressing it down into the open gap that was embedded into their chest. "Why the hell would anyone want to play bait with those things out there?! We shouldn't even bother!!" As their supposed escort would shout in Miho's direction, her expression shifted to that of a frown as she finished her task, rising up before lowering her head. "I assure you that we will be able to keep you safe. But do understand that we must also consider this mission specific task also. Perhaps in helping you, we will be able to discover the ones responsible for these attacks. I ask for your patience..." The others should be along shortly, or at least she hoped. Once they had come, they could proceed with this mission and get the answers that they sought. However, this jutsu can only heal flesh wounds and bring muscles together. It cannot heal severe wounds. At best, using this technique would allow for someone to heal a deep cut. Due to the nature of the technique, using it can be painful to the person being healed. ---------------------- -S.A Used- Enhanced Chakra Control Training within the land of Snakes has given more than just experience in Senjutsu, it as also taught her precise control over her chakra and it's supply available to her in exact moments of need. Though she never fully mastered Senjutsu, her ability to control and execute techniques with limited resources have proven to display an understanding of control over her own supply of internal energy and granted her the ability to make each strike count, knowing full well that it might be her last attempt at making an impact against a pressing opponent. Samurai Legacy The Adachi clan was a prominent group of samurai that were established within Tetsu no Kuni(The Land of Iron), before the group transferred a select few to the Hidden Leaf Village as to their alliance to Konohagakure. These traits have been ingrained into the girl very soul as she carries their blood within her. As such, along with the training she received from her father and those in the clan, Miho has developed enhanced reflexes. This allows her to react much more quickly in combat, better enabling her to avoid dangerous situations and defend herself almost instantaneously than normal. Adept Medical Training Since her return to Konohagakure, Miho has taken upon a new role within the village and has done her best to live up to the example set by her former teacher. With nearly over three years of medical training, Miho has become a capable physician within the village, adapting to the path of helping to create a healthy and safe village. This knowledge allows for her to use many medical ninjutsu and techniques effectively that can save lives on and off the battle field, and it only appears that she has scratched the surface of just what she can do in the future. In some causes, she can come up with various versions of these jutsus, improving upon them to make them just as effective when on the field. -Items Used-

By the time Yin had arrived at the rendevouz point, the Uchiha must have read and re-read the briefing a 100 times over, it was similar to a previous mission he was on but the attacks were certainly more localixedd to a singularity point. This mission already proved it was going to be annoying, but there were bright sides at least, he read he was to b close to Miho again, that was a plus, but, it was a bittersweet learning point for him... Like before, there's to be a Hyūga upon him... and another Gure... That international slice that one Gure took basically made all the Gure look pathetic in his eyes. Still, a mission was a mission, and the last time he tried putting his personal feelings first, Yin almost died. Well, all's alright thus far. He simply walked up to the formed group of some escort, merchants, and Miho. The latter healing a man, or it looks like it at least. The former was yelling at Miho, something about being bait. Miho's remark to that was logical, definitely coming from a level head, something the other man didn't have. The Uchiha crossed his arms, waiting for a time to speak. He closed his eyes, letting Miho finish, approach was silent, unnerving at times but once she finished her little quip. "Have faith in the Konoha shinobi, we don't skimp on the job, you'll be fine. Cast further doubt and you will be an optional objective and no longer our VIP concern, any further words against a military power?"

Special Ability #1 - Sharingan (No Tomoe)

The seizure robbed more than just Yin's former combat abilities, it also robbed him of his Sharingan, leaving only his ability to reawaken it with work unbeknownst to him.


Special Ability #2 - Chakra Control

Being of Uchiha descent, Yin is able to control his chakra enough to use the minimum requirements of jutsus or able to strengthen certain attacks and jutsus by supplying more than the required amount of chakra. Ever under pressure, Yin can maintain a certain degree of control.


Special Ability #3 - Silent Killing

Having been promoted to Anbu, Yin underwent intensive training in the art of Silent Killing in order to be successful in his missions. Yin shows much promise in this trade like many of his Uchiha kin. He earned the nickname "Prince of Darkness" due to his assassination techniques that seemingly come from pure darkness (Despite of his Sharingan). Because of this, he moves as soft as a ghost, capable of taking multiple targets out without making a noise. Despite his great skill, he's human, which leaves room for error. (However, he has been capable of eliminating witnesses prior to being noticed.)

Likewise, another member of the party had spent much more time than necessary reading and re-reading the briefing, checking again and again for something he might have glossed over the first dozen times. There wasn't much to go on in terms of leads. The unknown reasons for such attacks meant there would likely be an investigation and some tracking involved, while the attacks themselves called for medical assistance. Given those perimeters, and that his own Genin team was out-of-commission at the time, it made sense to recruit the Hyuga, as he could support the group with search and rescue.

In any case, no amount of additional reading was going to reveal any new information. The only avenue to take was to proceed with the mission and see where it would take them, therefore, he hurried to meet with the others.

Among the three out of four who were present, Hotaru was the youngest and least experienced, seeming just a little out of place in comparison to his comrades. Very much the least likely to speak out, as well. While Senju and Uchiha confronted the upset client, Hotaru quickly and quietly put himself to work in the background, utilizing medical jutsu and additional bandages and trauma dressings to tend to the wounds of those afflicted. He might not be all that skilled, but certainly enough to stop the bleeding!

Every minute or so, he would glance back to Senju and Uchiha, briefly listening to the conversation, and judging whether it was safe to go over there. Once he had done all he could, and reassured those who needed it, there wasn't much else to do but to return to the other two nin and wait for further orders, while quietly observing. It'd be a wonder if they even noticed the boy there, but that was perfectly alright with him. He was an extra hand here, not anyone important.

Is okay, hotaru <3 [break][break]Locate the wolves, kill the wolves, find out if anything suspicious is going on, return home. That was the plan. The fact that the mission team consisted of strangers was not so great. Roku disliked it, but he could work with it. He was good at that. He was wearing some simple cameo pants with lots of pockets for his items, a black shirt with the fishnet looking under-armor and topped it off with his green chuunin flak jacket. He was so ready for a mission with a team, though. His last solo mission had ended up with him running into a nuke nin and it had -to be frank- deterred him from leaving the village for weeks. Roku would tie his hair up in the usual bun with the rest of his inky  black hair flowing down his back. As always when going on missions he exchanged his glasses for contacts. [break][break]

When Roku arrived at the specified location it would be to a Miho healing and Uchiha Yin practically offering to stab a civilian if they dared bad mouth the team. It made Roku keep to the outer perimeter of the Uchiha and he found himself gravitating towards the Hyuuga Hotaru, whom he'd squat down to help with bandaging, holding the limb while he wrapped. It was small, but it was not nothing and the best he could do with his limited medical knowledge. With his gaze on the wound he would ask the Hyuuga; "You are Hotaru, right? I'm Rokurou... How many do you think there are? Wolves I mean."   [break]

While she was happy to see Yin had arrived, his defense of their mission did seemed a bit off-handed. If anything, they were there to make sure that these people weren't hurt at all, especially not by their own means. As she released a breath, she'd finally finish her task, looking over toward the two other arrivals as they appeared. The boy, Hyuuga Hotaru and Gure Rokurou. They were two that she had seen in passing, but never fully were they introduced. Still, she had heard of their assignment in their mission and their being here would make all the difference from the look of things. As the merchant seemed to back off upon the threat from the Uchiha, Miho would gently place her hand upon Yin as a means to calm him down, soon looking back toward the older man as she nodded toward him with a calm expression. "The militia will be here soon to take care of the others, and we 've done all we can, but we can not delay further...prepare for our departure..." It seemed that was all that could be done for now, and with both her efforts and that of Hotaru would be enough for the time being. As she made her way toward her other two teammates, she made an effort to bow respectfully toward them as she smiled while holding her hands in front of her. "Hotaru and Rokurou I assume? Glad you could make it...We've identified from the information provided by the last group to arrive that the wolves are indeed the intended target for this operation. The targeted position seems to be right in the half-way point between here and the inner depths of the mountain path. With us as their protectors, we are to ride with them as their escort toward Seinaru. It seems like the likely spot where we'll encounter these wolves...though in truth...I do not think they are acting of their own accord..." [Uchiha Yin]

The Uchiha was a bit testy today, mainly multiple things happening had caused him to steel himself, one of those things dealt with his attraction to Miho and the distrust it caused Kazuto upon him, or so he thought. It could be him coping with the stress or it was just his second face showing itself. Whatever the case may be, Yin was a bit too distracted to hear the approach of the rest of the team, which might have been good, at least to everyone else. He wasn't sure why, Miho putting her hand on his chest was enough to not even warrant resistance. It was different than freezing, it was warm and calming, old habits die hard. Yin kept his mouth shut as Miho addressed the men again, assuring them a thousand times more relaxed than the Uchiha. The male Chūnin had no further words to say, none that wouldn't cause a riot anyway. Instead, his eyes followed the direction Miho turned to. Oh, more people. How long were they standing there? Yin thought, he was quite surprised none of them spoke up, had it not been the Konoha clothing and headbands, the man may have assumed they were a part of the Caravan. It was odd though, he did not recognize either of the two but Miho seemed to. Yin crossed his arms, hearing as she quickly debriefed the two. The Uchiha bowed slightly in the direction of the two, so much for being stoic. "Name's Uchiha Yin, I'll be your teammate for this operation. You have my thanks for backing us up. More the better."

[Hyūga Hotaru]

The whole purpose of a squad was to work together and yet, the boy seemed surprised that someone else had come over to help him so soon. It was appreciated, of course; "Oh, thank you-", he responded quietly, hurrying to bandage the limb as to not keep the other there for long. Sometime during his rushed application of bandages, he peeked up, recognizing that this was one of the nin from the briefing. The name confirmed it, and he quickly lowered his head to show some respect to the Chuunin. "Ah- Yes, sir-!" He replied, giving a swift nod to confirm his own identity. "I'm not sure. Four or five might be enough to harass travelers, but.. the total could be much more. I haven't tried-"

It was at that moment his name was called again, this time by Miho, the first konoha nin on site and, as far as he was concerned, the acting squad leader. As such, he was quick to put his own thoughts aside, stand straight and respond; "Y-yes, ma'am-!" The only thing missing was a salute. Next came the location debrief, a bit more detailed than the document version, and the last of the introductions from Yin- with head bows all around! It was the respectful way of greeting others, after all. Moreso, Hotaru went as far as to bow to each one of them individually.

"I'm sorry, I'm only a Genin but, with the Byakugan, I can check ahead for any signs of wolves or maybe who is provoking them to act this way." He glanced to each of the others for their opinion, with some understandable nervousness, being the least among them. This was the best idea he could think of, to make himself useful to the group, but perhaps these Chuunin had better tactics that he wasn't aware of. This was a great opportunity to learn such things, if he could put up with the anxiety. "O-or if you have anything you would like me to do, just say so."

Hotaru seemed to have the hang of this first aid thing better than Roku. The way he wrapped the bandage seemed to have more purpose than just keeping things in place. Likely to keep pressure the right places without hindering movement or comfort too much. They were talking about the wolves when Miho an Yin summoned their attention. Rokurou rose to his feet, dusted off his pants and bowed to the two, following Hotaru's example. He would nod at Miho's words. Mind control seemed unlikely but not impossible if some rogue Yamanaka was behind this. If they were Roku hoped they wouldn't have to fight them on even terms. They had Hotaru with them and while his sensory prowess was beyond what any of the others could manage, he didn't strike Roku as someone who would be ready to go toe to toe with someone who had rejected the village. Not like that Kayaku person, anyway... bile rose up in the back of his throat and he resorted to the old habit of adjusting his glasses to check in with himself - only to find they were not there and transitioned to sweeping a small lock of hair behind his ear. As Yin introduced himself and deemed Roku and Hotaru as back up, Roku would let his eyes rest on him for a moment, taking a small step forward to place himself somewhat between Hotaru and Yin. Roku's protective trait was largely attributed to him being the elder to the orphans and those labelled as such would never truly have it as easy as those who held themselves above others just because of their heritage. Even if Hotaru was Hyuga, he was younger and that, in his mind, took precedence. [break][break]

"Your sensory abilities will be important, Hotaru, so please make sure to scout ahead when we head out. Senju and Uchiha here can run point. They are front liners after all... Hotaru and myself will be the back line."[break][break]

Anyone - or anyone like roku at least - could see that. The muscle definition on the medic, the lighter build of the Uchiha, all added up to them being able to provide a nasty attack via close range and likely some ninjutsu or other. Katon likely, he was an Uchiha and they loved their flames more than what was likely healthy.


[break][break]  Roku would head out with the rest and keep in range of Hotaru, so in the case of a surprise attack he could grab the younger shinobi and haul him to safety. Roku would alternate between flanking the genin and running behind with his attention more on their flank and the terrain they were leaving behind.

[Senju Miho]

The Quick and the Rabid

"Agreed...lets all do our best..." With her smile toward the younger member of their group, Miho would begin to make her way toward the front as she could see their caravan was prepared and ready to go. From there, it was the simple task of making sure to keep in time with the party. Heading the group alongside Yin, Miho would keep her wits about her as she waited for the young Hyuga to sound the alarm if they needed to be known. For now, they were simply in the dark as to what matters might occur. There were too many variables, and the pattern of the wolves themselves had proved to only be consistent to a degree. The band would continue their march, Miho sticking to the lead as she made sure to check her surroundings as she could only recall her experience with wolves in the past as a reference. In truth, they terrified her to a point. The only time she had ever dealt with them had been with Kazuto having her back, and he was the master of wolves as it were. So what could have caused these creatures to lash out in such a way? Were they trained or controlled? Who could say for sure... Yet as their journey continued, it would become clear to all that they were drawing near to the previous place of attack. Eyes watching from the shadows as an echoing howl could be heard in the distance as though announcing their arrival. Though the cry was far out, something was indeed drawing near to them. But could not be seen...and barely made noise. It was drawing in from the sides, softly rustling the grass as it seemed to be more than just one being coming upon them. Though she never fully mastered Senjutsu, her ability to control and execute techniques with limited resources have proven to display an understanding of control over her own supply of internal energy and granted her the ability to make each strike count, knowing full well that it might be her last attempt at making an impact against a pressing opponent. Samurai Legacy The Adachi clan was a prominent group of samurai that were established within Tetsu no Kuni(The Land of Iron), before the group transferred a select few to the Hidden Leaf Village as to their alliance to Konohagakure. These traits have been ingrained into the girl very soul as she carries their blood within her. As such, along with the training she received from her father and those in the clan, Miho has developed enhanced reflexes. This allows her to react much more quickly in combat, better enabling her to avoid dangerous situations and defend herself almost instantaneously than normal. Adept Medical Training Since her return to Konohagakure, Miho has taken upon a new role within the village and has done her best to live up to the example set by her former teacher. With nearly over three years of medical training, Miho has become a capable physician within the village, adapting to the path of helping to create a healthy and safe village. This knowledge allows for her to use many medical ninjutsu and techniques effectively that can save lives on and off the battle field, and it only appears that she has scratched the surface of just what she can do in the future. In some causes, she can come up with various versions of these jutsus, improving upon them to make them just as effective when on the field. -Items Used-

[Uchiha Yin]

Hearing Hotaru respond with a bit of eagerness and gratuity when he was addressed definitely drew a half grin on Yin, but the Uchiha was had some questions when it seemed the Gure stood a little more in front of the Hyūga. Yin didn't speak up on it, best he hold his tongue, he hadn't a reason to speak; in fact, what Roku stated drew an affirming nod out of the eldest Chūnin. Did Yin feel bad about his age to his rank, not really; he'd rather just have his Sharingan back more than anything. Hotaru offered his Byakugan and Roku, a game plan. Both seemed invaluable to the operation. Once the groundwork was set, and roles were declared, the group set out with the positions Roku had suggested. It was simple, Yin was quick to take the front with Miho and the Gure and Hyūga would take the back-end, and with that set, all the party members were ready to disembark. The caravaners took their places as well and everything launched calmly. The Uchiha found unease in the silence but was quickly liberated from the feeling after ten or so meters. Despite the tension of an animal attack. The scenic walk was more than enough to grant ease. Yin didn't really have anything to say about the moment, he had many things to say or ask Miho, none were mission-related, and the man saw reason to not say anything, in essence, it was the same as having nothing to say. While the Uchiha had some animal-related missions in the past, he doesn't recall any bad experiences, nor did he really remember them. To him, this was just another mission, one to which he had little to no reason to psych himself out. That was, of course, until a howl echoed in the distance. Normally, it wouldn't cause any uneasiness, unfortunately, this mission was exactly that. In preparation, Yin reached in his pouch and gripped a kunai, but kept his hand in the sack. He didn't see any need to kick into attack mode.

The seizure robbed more than just Yin's former combat abilities, it also robbed him of his Sharingan, leaving only his ability to reawaken it with work unbeknownst to him.


Special Ability #2 - Chakra Control

Being of Uchiha descent, Yin is able to control his chakra enough to use the minimum requirements of jutsus or able to strengthen certain attacks and jutsus by supplying more than the required amount of chakra. Ever under pressure, Yin can maintain a certain degree of control.


Special Ability #3 - Silent Killing

Having been promoted to Anbu, Yin underwent intensive training in the art of Silent Killing in order to be successful in his missions. Yin shows much promise in this trade like many of his Uchiha kin. He earned the nickname "Prince of Darkness" due to his assassination techniques that seemingly come from pure darkness (Despite of his Sharingan). Because of this, he moves as soft as a ghost, capable of taking multiple targets out without making a noise. Despite his great skill, he's human, which leaves room for error. (However, he has been capable of eliminating witnesses prior to being noticed.)

"Understood." Likewise, the younger genin nodded along with Yin, acknowledging the proposed plan. Thank goodness, he wasn't the one up at the front but, in a way, he might as well have been. His eyes were going to be the ones seeing everything ahead of time, and it was on him to make sure nothing got by without being noticed and reported. It felt like everyone's safety was riding on him. Talk about pressure. On the bright side, there was a pretty high chance that the wolves, along with whoever was responsible, were not expecting to be seen prior to their next ambush.

Once everyone was in position, Hotaru went through the hand seals associated with his clan's dojutsu. In most cases, doing so was unnessecary but he felt like it helped him concentrate and focus, resulting in a ever-so-slight increase in the distance of his sight, although that could very well be a placebo effect. As of that moment, there wasn't anything out of the ordinary inside the radius of his Byakugan, only the caravan itself and four nin they had hired. "I don't see anything out there."

The group could move on from there, with as much caution and unease as anyone might expect, given their situation. Everyone was on edge from his perspective; the people of the caravan kept darting their eyes around, anxiously expecting an ambush, and even his fellow nin seemed tense at the very least, minus Yin. One would think being able to spot trouble far away would make a Hyuga less anxious in this scenario, but he was the one worried about missing something; getting distracted and letting something slip by unnoticed. It almost happened when that howl echoed ahead of them, briefly startling the younger genin.

Almost immediately afterward, there was a flash of something entering his field of vision. Rather, some things; what looked like big blurs of chakra, moving in on them from the side. It was hard to focus on exactly what they were, at first, but the group's walking proximity alarm was certainly alerted to their presence, regardless of how quiet they thought they were being. "Th-there's something coming! Six wolves, both sides, and another chakra signature up ahead!"

The haunting tune of a wolf's howl alerted them to the presence of the four-legged threats. Roku glanced at Hotaru, his chakra already swirling to life and was ready to react to whatever was thrown at them. So they were surrounded from all sides but their back. That was something... Roku produced a kunai from his pouch, an explosive tag was attached to the end of it, as he scoured the flanks of the group. He tried to concentrate and reach out, to feel his surroundings, but he was still not able to sense anything but himself and his chakra, even if he wished otherwise. None of the guys up front had barked orders and seemed to want to wait on a threat to appear so they could react to it. Roku pressed his lips into a thin line. [break] [break]
"What is the size of the signature up ahead, Hotaru?" [break] [break]
If it was a large one, perhaps the more combat-oriented of the team should take care of that one while the back liners took care of the beasts. Hotaru reminded him a little of himself already, so if there was anything to that he would not be able to take down a cutthroat criminal with little to no morals. He knew he wouldn't have been able to or wanted to when he was younger. [break] [break]
Roku moved so he could cover one flank of the caravan, telling Hotaru to watch the other and yell if he needed help or became overwhelmed. Roku himself would prepare to cast a jutsu, throwing the kunai out so it was between the first line of trees and the caravan before readying the seals.

[Senju Miho]

The Quick and the Rabid

The alert of possible attack came from the young shinobi, prompting Miho to mount her defense as she looked into the depths of the woodlands. While she certainly could not see anything, there was indeed a presence that lingered that was snarling and seeming to be chomping at the bit to launch itself at them. Was this what had been attacking the traveling merchants in the past? There was hardly any real doubt, but to what end? Time would not give the young medic much distance to find out, as the six present chakra signatures would rapidly move out from each direction. "We've got three in front!" The beast were the size of crates, muscles bulged and fangs nearly encompassing the length of their jaws. It seemed easy to believe how many would be hesitant to try and take on such creatures by normal means. But if anything, Miho was now confirmed that they held little resemblance to the wolves at Kazuto's command. But now was not to time for her to be distracted. As three of the wolves launched themselves toward Miho and Yin, the other set would come out in the direction of Hotaru and Rokurou. The strength behind their charge was only matched by their speed and numbers, leading to the pressure being on as each one seemed to move in a relentless fashion. The team would need to be aware of this if they were to continue to protect the weapon, as it appeared that these beasts were dead set on taking out any and all means of movement, as the rest were content with trying to occupy the Konoha shinobi by rapidly snapping at them before retreating back to repeat this movement. Doing her best to try and deter the wolves from getting to close, Miho would release a fiery swing from her fist, producing a ball of fire that would attempt to knock one of the rogue animals back ,yet only for a small period as they continued to rally and swarm. Hotaru's alert mapped out a kill box rather than a randomized attack, that was something definitely worrying. the Chūnin planned in his head how to best retaliate with minimal energy. That seemed impossible for him as he noticed the sheer size of these animals, they didn't seem as small as wolves, given how they have kaijū beasts made of pure chakra, the idea these were werewolves was definitely on his mind. Okay, time to deal damage. The Uchiha took out his kunai prior to quickly weaving seals, imbuing the kunai with Raiton energy. "Just cause they are animals, don't hesitate your strikes!" The Uchiha barked before glaring at a wolf looking to bite his face off. Got ya... Genjutsu Shibari! If successful, one of the three charging wolves would freeze, petrified by its own thoughts. The second wolf was already so close, reacting to it flashed a migraine throughout the Uchiha's head. It was close, crazy and dangerous, but Yin took that electrified Kunai and slammed it against the momentum of the wolf. Hopefully, Miho was close enough to punch it as it certainly wasn't light. "Miho, wanna punch it, I don't think I can hold it much longer." The Uchiha was still trying to decide what to do with the petrified wolf, it wasn't calming even if it was bound in place.

After the handseals are completed, the user will generate a large amount of Raiton onto their hands which could be discharged onto a person or object they are in close contact with. The electricity from this jutsu has enough power to intensively damage and electrocute the opponent. Due to it's short range, conductive materials are often used to lengthen it's range, and even improve the electrical power of the technique. Methods such using streams of water or ninja wire are common ways to improving the jutsu's range.

DESCRIPTION:
As the name suggests, the user binds the opponent in a genjutsu by the opponent viewing the user glare, rendering them incapable of movement; and this genjutsu can be used on more than one target at the same time. Unlike other genjutsu that use illusory objects to stop movements, this genjutsu simply affects the target's sense of touch to make it feel as if every inch of their body surrounded by hardened cement, effectively paralyzing the target. Once the target(s) are bound, the user or an ally can rush up to the enemy and deliver a devastating killing blow.

[Hyūga Hotaru]

The team may not have had much time to prepare a proper counter attack but, at the very least, they weren't going to be drastically disadvantaged by an ambush- not with a Hyuga around. The difficult part was going to be the numbers more than anything else. Four shinobi vs a dozen wolves, possibly more? The odds weren't exactly in their favor. Having to protect civilians in process didn't make it any easier. And still, more danger lay waiting; another signature up ahead, the same he'd attempt to describe to Roku. "I-it's pretty big-!" He replied, trying to focus on it in the matter of seconds they had to spare. "But it isn't another wolf- something else!" A combatant, perhaps, but he couldn't be too sure; his attention had to shift to the attack before it was too late.

While their two front-liners pushed the offensive, he and Roku would tackle the flanks, Hotaru quickly responding to the order and getting between the caravan and the wolves nearest to his side. The size of these things wasn't lost on the Genin; trying to take more than one at a time wasn't going to be easy. Split them up, reduce each encounter to a one-on-one, stay away from the teeth, and keep them away from the caravan; that seemed like the best plan of action.

As for executing that plan? Smoke bombs. Wolves might be able to smell their way through it, yes, but it might at least blind them enough that he could get in and out with Gentle Fist. Reaching into his gear pouch, he snatched up three shuriken to fling in the direction of the first wolf or wolves that appeared through the trees, then popped smoke with his free hand. Now he had some cover between himself and the attackers, one he could see through but they could not. From there, he fell into a ready stance for Gentle Fist, with every intention of palming the first canine snout that showed itself.
