Yusaku sat there at the edge of a roof, beyond the edge of the Village, staing down as the sun slowly dipped behind the forest around him and at the gates and the walls of Konoha further afar. That particular spot some road from the main thoroughfare of his native town was always the quietest, being mostly rural in nature compared to the rest of the village. Not to mention the fact that the small house was pretty much abandoned.

The sky was free from clouds and the wind was calm. All in all, it looked like it was going to be a relaxing night. Sitting there, Yusaku kept just blankly staring around for a few more moments before turning towards the large bag he had brought with him. He had been going out to the the place a few times already as of late, mostly during random days when he needed a qiuet place to unwind or in general a place were less people would look.

Ever since his incident, he had struggled to remain the same old. He knew the risks, but still couldn't help and feel like there was something wrong with him. In general, he tried to keep appereances up, though for a while he kinda wished to be someone else entirely.

Thankfully, he had found a nice place and a weird way to get that problem fixed, if just for a night's worth of time. Seeing as it was getting dark, he might as well get changed before he wouldn't be able to find the zipper. Besides, he could get to lay down there on the roof and count the stars easier once he had.

Moving his hands over to the bag, he would click it open to reveal the neatly folded bright orange outfit inside: his kitsune costume. He had bought it for the festival a good few months ago, but he sure was not going to use it just that once.

As weird as it sounded, wearing something as silly like that was somewhat relaxing to him. There was some comfort in hiding behind that pointed snout, long ears and tip tapping claws. Hiding away from the problems that plagued him, the remorse, the pain.

As another plus to being completely masked by the costume would be the anonimity the suit afforded him. The abandoned house was a few ways away from Konoha or the main roads, but was by no means unreachable. Should the odd traveller stumble upon it, they wouldn't be able to tell his identity.

And in the eventuality someone would be considerable enough to notice him missing from the village that night  and eventually find the place in their search he could easily leap down into the bushes from his position to get away and pass off as just a wild animal, his anbu training doing the rest to cover his traces. Part of his mind was faintly trying to tell him how ridiculous that plan was, but the other part of him just didn't care. It felt like a good enough plan, no different that using a transformation jutsu but with the bonus of not needing to focus and not wasting chakra.

...

Perhaps he was indeed crazy, but out there his foolishness wouldn't hurt anyone else but him this time.

Lazily beginning to take off his stuff, starting with his tabi boots followed by his shorts, Yusaku would once again gaze around the small clearance as he pulled off his jacket and headband. Once he had only his sleveless undersuit on his person, the hyuga would dip his fingers into the bag, take out the fox themed costume and laid it out unfurled.

Once his clothes were back in the bag, Yusaku quickly slipped inside the orange suit, one bigh sigh before fitting the mask over his face and laying back down on the roof to look up at the sea of black high above where stars shined. Maybe he would be able to doze off this night. Maybe.
Maybe not.
