When the mind is enlightened,
the spirit is freed
 and
the body matters not"

A lone figure moved aimlessly through the forest of Hi no Kuni. The figure, dressed in an outdated version of the Hyuga clan's traditional clothing, started his journey in the murky swamps of Kawa. His destination wasn't preordained as most visits to his homeland were. Rather, Kayaku's nearly inaudible stride was random and constantly changing. Eventually, the sudden shifts in directions had unwillingly placed the former heir on a path towards Hi no kuni's mountainous regions; far north of the country's hidden village.

The dense forest that once shielded him from the sun's rays and prying eyes began to thin. The extra sunlight illuminated the man's physique and ragged clothing. Rips and tares in the cloth revealed marred skin, and well toned muscles. Patches of varying colors lit up all over the Hyuga's body. However, they were badly stitched into the fabric, as if the man had once tried to mend the clothing but failed. On his face, Kayaku donned a newly acquired mask, it's pristine condition was an extreme contrast when compared to the rest of his outfit.

The ragged figure would continue on, soon venturing into unspoiled lands in search for his proverbial "Shangri-la", where he would then found a Dojo. The Dojo, initially an idea and place of resolute seclusion for Kayaku to continue down the path of enlightenment. Eventually he'd decide to allow anyone who, like him, sought an enlightened state of being too join the Dojo. As far as Kayaku was concerned he could achieve such awareness through mental, spiritual and physical training. However, gaining enlightenment proved difficult, and his journey thus far seemed to be only the tip of the iceberg.

Kayaku ultimately agreed that he would have to endure much much more for a longer period of time before he could even claim to be on such a path. After coming to this conclusion, he decided that locating the Dojo should follow the same principle of being nearly insurmountable. Soon enough even Kayaku would feel the harsh terrain gnawing at his body. Despite being an elite Jounin, his body was beset with sudden sharp pains, tightening muscles and due to the increasing elevation, short breaths. "Hmm I wonder how long will pretend to not be following me", the Hyuga said to himself.

A flashback of the day before replayed in his mind. Kayaku had returned to Hi no Kuni to check in with Shodaime and well, have some time alone with her. Afterwards, he had informed her of his dream to attain enlightenment and that he was going to found a Dojo specifically for the cause. The sheer ambiguity of it all and how laid back he was about it probably caused Shodaime to worry a bit; although at the time the bullish former heir couldn't see it from her point of view. The last thing he had said to her before leaving was…

"Relax sho, I'm a Taijutsu Master after all, I'll be fine. Plus, everyone knows that the most legendary of Dojos are hell to travel to"

Of course Shodaime wasn't as idealistic as Kayaku was and she'd follow the man in his personal journey. Meanwhile, the venture to the soon to be dojo became a seemingly convoluted and arduous task. The man wanted the route to be one's first challenge for the mind, body and spirit or well chakra. Only those who could actually find the Dojo, would be worthy enough to become one an exponent of the school.

Despite the fact that Kayaku would become the Dojo's first grandmaster, he was not exempt from this particular trial either. He needed to prove to himself he was truly worthy to continue and eventually lead otters into enlightenment. Feeling that if he himself could not weather this journey and found the Dojo hidden deep within Hi no Kuni's "back of the beyonds" then he was not worthy of being called sensei let alone reaching enlightenment.

Shodaime had followed a ways behind Kayaku. She knew that he probably suspected that she was following him, considering his mastery of the Byakugan. She was worried about the safety of Kayaku, knowing that his longer stay in Hi no Kuni would draw unneeded attention towards him. It was a risky choice not only for Kayaku but for her as well. If anyone were to discover her relationship with Kayaku, outside the people she had already told, everything would be at risk for her.

"This man is going to be the death of me," Shodaime would say as she sighed, continuing to follow Kayaku to wherever he was heading to. She was sure he was still following that dream of opening hidden dojo, but she wanted to make sure nothing stop him in his goal, whether it be the elements or an enemy going after him. Shodaime cared a lot about his well-being, knowing that he was one to take so many risks to reach a goal. It was a quirk he had since their days of training together, before he left Konoha after his death was faked.
