Shigure is the son of the current Clan Leader and thus the future leader once his father retires or dies. The weight of this responsibility is a serious burden to the young heir, but one he learned to embrace.

Shigure has always been a fast shinobi, but recently he focused on making his speed his main trait and trademark. Being able to not only move fast, but also known for his sharp reflexes and agility, Shigure's capability of moving like a blur and attacking people with his fast-paced Gentle Fist, and his trademark techniques such as the Rotation made him known by the moniker of Shigure of the Tornado.

Shigure’s most noticeable feature is his friendly expression and demeanor. Even when he is looking more serious, his face seems overall approachable and kind. His elevated position within the Hidden Leaf’s society as the heir of one of its most traditional clans does not elevate his sense of self-importance, and he remains quite down to earth. The young man is shorter than average for his age, standing at five feet five, his frame is slim, weighing around one hundred and twenty pounds, but toned from his constant training in Taijutsu.
His hair is brown coloured and straight, a trait he inherited from his mother as opposed to his father’s pitch black hair. He keeps his hair on a high ponytail, which goes down to the base of his neck. The frontal bangs fall to the sides of his face, going all the way down to his chin. When untied, his hair goes a few inches below his neck.
Pale skinned, his face has well-delineated features, his nose is medium sized and with a sharp, pointy shape. As a member of the Hyuuga, his eyes are white and featureless whenever his Byakugan is inactive, but also surprisingly warm and welcoming.
Since his fight with Kaguya Toru, Shigure’s torso and upper limbs are marked with severe scars from slashes and thrusts, which are usually covered by his clothing.
『 CASUAL NINJA ATTIRE 』
Shigure’s attire is quite comfortable and casual. He uses a traditional mesh shirt, which is completely covered by a dark red t-shirt. On top of his shirt he wears a beige zip-up hoodie, sporting the Hyuuga symbol in the form of a red flame inside a yellow circle on the left side of his chest. He wears black pants, with the leg holster tied to the right thigh, and a pouch on the back. For his footwear, he uses a variation of the normal sandals; they are white in the ankle, and black in the soles and heels, and it completely covers his toes. His forehead protector is the headband style and it’s navy blue in colour.
『 OFICIAL NINJA ATTIRE 』
When out for a mission, or when representing his village somewhere, Shigure opts for a more formal Leaf attire. He wears a long-sleeved black shirt with high collar, however he does not have the Uzumaki clan symbol on his sleeves. Instead, his left sleeve is beige in colour and has the Hyuuga symbol embroidered on it. Shigure wears the Leaf’s flak jacket on top of his shirt, as well as black pants, with the leg holster tied to the right thigh, and a pouch on the back. For his footwear, he uses a variation of the normal sandals; they are white in the ankle, and black in the soles and heels, and it completely covers his toes. 『 TRADITIONAL ATTIRE 』
Whenever partaking in official clan business or ceremonies, Shigure wears the traditional pure-white Hyuuga yukata, with a navy blue obi holding it together. On top of his yukata he wears a dark-green haori with the symbol of the Hyuuga, the red flame inside the yellow circle, embroidered to the frontal part of it. He will sometimes wear his headgear, but more often than not he won’t; it all depends on the occasion. He also sports his black coloured, regular sandals.
"The price of freedom is steep."Shigure believes that all people are equal, and as such he dislikes any sort of discrimination. He deeply dislikes his own clan’s policy regarding the apartheid between the Main House and the Branch House, and he wishes with all his heart that this situation will change in the future, when he becomes the head of the clan, and start pushing for his reforms. He wishes to create an environment for his clan where people are free to choose either own paths, and he dislikes the idea of fate and destiny. For him, everyone should be free to choose their paths, and the limit to their freedom is when their decisions may affect the freedom of others.
The young Hyuuga is respectful and knows the importance of hierarchy, but he also knows that loyalty and blindly following rules and dogmas are different concepts, and thus he treasures his own critical thinking and assessing of a situation. He dislikes the concept pushed by some that a Shinobi is a weapon, and instead prefers to see them as a highly trained individual who needs to reflect on the reasonableness of the orders they receive.
He is a gentle soul who cares about people. He is very social and likes meeting new people. Highly empathetic, he likes to understand people’s dreams, ideals, flaws and desires, so he can get a better comprehension of who they truly are. He is a curious man and always eager to learn, seeking knowledge, even if a particular knowledge may seem kind of useless. He is generally cheerful and easy to smile, treating people with kindness. His upbringing as the heir of his clan also made him quite polite and knowledgeable of the value of proper etiquette, even if he prefers that others treat him more casually.
Shigure is fiercely loyal to his clan, village, friends, and loved ones, and will not think twice before coming to their aid, even if the situation is dire. But that does not mean he is reckless. Life has taught him to recognize that it’s important to retreat at times, and that people are not always able to overcome the obstacles on their way.
That being said, he is quite clever, and he likes to think things through and strategise before taking action. He is level-headed and hard to anger, even though he is quite stubborn once he makes a decision. The young man also tends to overthink things and second guess himself when things don’t go according to his plan.
Despite the time he spent isolated due to the depression and PTSD caused by the loss of his original team during a Chuunin Exam, and the death of his uncle, he found motivation in the fact that many people died so that he could live, and that his life is not only his. As such, he developed a very strong will and determination to move forward, no matter how hard the path may be.
『 -13 SD || Born 』
Privilege is one thing that defines Shigure’s position in society. He was born as the first son of the Hyuuga Clan Leader, Urashi, thus making him not only a member of the main house of his Clan, therefore not destined to a life of servitude, but also the heir to the clan, which was the highest position a young Hyuuga could dream to be. His birth was celebrated and lots of expectations were placed on the young baby, who was born during a rainy day, that being the reason he was named Shigure, which means drizzle, a name chosen by his mother, Sanae.
Ever since his early days, Shigure was quite the serene fellow. He would barely ever cry as a baby and would usually sleep through the night without bothering anyone. He was highly curious and liked to explore the environment around him and he was also very friendly towards people, being easy to hold and to interact. He was also easy to laugh and he would crack a smile for almost anything and anyone. He was a clever baby, and at the age of one he was already walking all over the place and at the age of two he was capable of communicating quite clearly even for a toddler.
When he grew a bit older his education on Hyuuga’s doctrine began and from that very moment, he noticed there was something terribly off on how things were being presented to him. For instance, he didn’t quite understand why some of his cousins and uncles lived in a different place, smaller, less fancy and seemed to be always willing to serve him and his parents and other members of the family while the same willingness wasn’t reciprocal. This bugged him and even though people would frequently try to explain to him why there was a main and a branch house, it was something that made absolutely no sense in his mind and he never truly bothered to boss people around, even though he had the precedent to do so.
『 -9 SD to -8 SD || Early Life 』
At the age of four he began to be trained as a shinobi by his parents and he enjoyed it quite a lot as he saw it as a time for bonding. He was also quite competitive and that sense of achieving a milestone and improving was enough to drive him to be quite dedicated and, although he wasn’t naturally gifted like some genius in the village, his hard-work was quite exceptional and he would diligently train every single day, even when he was all by himself. To discover the marvels of his Byakugan was yet another incentive for the young Shigure to take his training seriously and he had a hell of a good time every time he managed to see a little bit further; he barely ever left the Hyuuga clan estate and he found that quite bothersome most of the time, and he made up for that by exploring the village to the best of his Byakugan capabilities.
He wondered why he was a bird in a cage almost daily and whenever he stood up against his parents, he would get lectured about the importance of the clan and how his position was a privileged one but also carried the burden of responsibility: he had to uphold the ideals of the clan above his own ideals, and that dogma made him quite unease. It didn’t feel right, at least not for him, but with time he learned it was useless to go against his parents in that regard, at least verbally.
『 -7 to -3 || Academy Years 』
When he was six years old he joined the Shinobi Academy where he excelled especially in taijutsu training thanks to his already developed Byakugan and Gentle Fist. He was a little above average in his ninjutsu skills too, but didn’t show any initial affinity towards elemental ninjutsu or genjutsu for instance. Weapons weren’t alien to him, but not nearly as natural as fighting with his own body. Joining the academy was also important for young Shigure because it marked his first time in the "open world”.
For the first time in his life he could go out of his house and actually interact with other people and other clans. He was delighted by that and, being a people’s person and quite helpful, he was absolutely friendly with most people, making some friends along the way as he lacked the natural snobbish nature of most main branch Hyuuga’s and that was obviously odd at first, but quite the pleasant surprise.
His parents - mainly his father - saw his friendly attitude towards people, including the bunke family members with a grain of salt and would scold him for that from time to time. To leave things at peace, Shigure would promise them he would behave more properly only to conveniently forget that the following day, and with time his parents realized he was a lost cause in that regard. Still, he was quite proud of his heritage, and loved his family and wanted them to be proud of him and his accomplishments, a trait that pushed him to dedicate himself to the academy.
『 -2 to 2 SD || Early Genin Years 』
He graduated at the age of 11, as it was expected of him, with high grades in most subjects and top grades in taijustu and subsequently joined a Genin team lead by his uncle Natsuo, a member of the branch house.
He worked with them for many years, and he advanced quite well during his years, going as far as to participate in two chuunin exams. On his first try he was 13 years old and one of his teammates failed on the written exam, thus making them lose the exam rather quickly. However, tragedy would hit him hard during their second try.
One year later they managed to proceed to the second phase of the chuunin exam, but they were savagely attacked by another team. Shigure ended up being the sole survivor of his team and that experience left him quite traumatized, unable to work for nearly a year. His parents were quite harsh on him, saying he was way too soft and trusting with people and that was the reason that tragedy occurred.
Losing his teammates Kirisame and Natsuki was an extremely heavy blow to the young man, and even though he did try to get back into the regular forces by the age of fourteen, despite being deeply hurt and bitter, but it required a lot of will-power to hold on to your own ideals and choose to keep on going forward.
『 3 to 6 SD || Great Depression 』
When he returned after his year gap, he was assigned to a new team, under the tutelage of a new sensei named Saru Saya, hoping that this time he would be strong enough to protect his friends and make sure everything would be fine. However, due to his psychological condition and concerns of the heir to the Hyuuga clan relapsing and further endangering himself, his team ended up being overly protective, taking on simple missions, and he felt like he was not really developing well as a Shinobi.
He thought this wasn't right, and that if he continued to follow his path he would never truly grow. After pleading to his father, with the support of his then sensei, Shigure managed to convince the man to train him until the leader of the Hyuuga clan felt that the boy was actually ready to go back to the regular forces. During this time, he kept on relapsing and struggling with his mental health, which was only made worse when his former sensei and uncle died at the hands of a Mist Shinobi.
To make sure he would be taken care of, Shigure was engaged to a member of the branch house, Hanako, who would look after the boy’s wellbeing and help him train. The intense training took four years, but he was finally recognized by his father as a capable Genin, and got his blessing to once again seek to rejoin a Team, this time truly embracing his life as a Shinobi.
『 7 to 8 SD || Advanced Genin Years 』
Finally rejoining the regular forces, Shigure was assigned as a member of the new Team 3, under the tutelage of Gure Yuuta. However, he would not meet his sensei for a while, as the Jounin was busy, and almost by chance, he became the unofficial leader of his team, gaining the nickname of ‘Boss’ by Wahei. His motivation to grow as a Shinobi pushed him to train and take on many missions, which pushed him to his limits.
During this time, he ended up fighting some strong Shinobi, such as the current Mizukage, the S-Rank criminal Hyuuga Kayaku, and a dangerous girl from the Waterfall Village. Despite the struggle and many injuries, each of these encounters helped him grow into a better, stronger Shinobi, and once Yuuta came back to lead the team, he was more than ready to show his sensei that he was ready to try his luck at the next Chūnin Exams.
『 8 SD || Chūnin Exams 』
Shigure travelled to Mizu no Tera for the exams accompanied by a convoy of Branch members, including his fiancée. After an eventful week prior to the start of the exams, where he made some friends and some rivals, the exams started with a challenge of the mind. Five Genin were placed in a room and were informed they were poisoned and had only one hour to solve the puzzle or die. Collaborating with his team and trying to help guide them through the challenge, the team solved the puzzle, but were surprised with the fact that one of them would have to stay behind to die.
Although afraid, Shigure didn't want to let anybody else die because of him during a Chuunin Exam, and also trying to act like their senior, he opted to stay behind and suffer the consequences. Luckily, this was also part of the test, and not only he passed the first round, but scored the second highest mark on it. A week after, the second round started, where they had to go from Mizu no Tera to Kagamino no Shi in 72 hours. He was teamed up with Momochi Kasumi and Nakahara Ichii.
The final round started not long after they arrived. Shigure fought Taki in the first match and they knocked themselves out. The second one was against Haruka, a battle in which he used his wits to for e his opponent to drain themselves out of Chakra. After the battle with Haruka, however, Shigure witnesses yet another one of his friends die in the exams, and that shaken him to the core. He felt anger and sadness and this drove him to enter his final fight against Kazu with quite some rage. Still, the battle was an intense one, but the Hyuuga managed to calm down and not focus on what had happened. Ultimately, he defeated Kazu and won the last round
He was approved in the exams, and upon returning to the village he assumed a new position as an academy instructor.
『 8 SD || Chūnin Career 』
The Hyuuga's start as a Chuunin was quite busy. Not only he started teaching at the shinobi academy, but he also continued his training within the Barrier corps. Moreover, due to the rising tensions between the Leaf and its enemies, he needed to work harder than ever before. Hence, Shigure went on many different missions, most of them as captain, as he developed his leadership skills, and some others assisting higher ranking shinobi and learning from them. It was during this time that he began to specialise in tracking and interception thanks to his visual prowess with the Byakugan and his above average speed. Such developments allowed him to graduate from barrier apprentice to a full-fledged member of the Interception Team, an accomplishment he was quite proud of.
During this time, he also learned a very special technique from Senju Kazuto, the Rasengan.

As a proud member of the Hyuuga clan, Shigure fighting style is heavily focused on the use of the Gentle Fist. As such, he usually fights bare handed and mostly focuses on using his hands to attack, deflect and block. His combat speed is highly above average and that allows him to apply some wicked footwork, making him quite hard to hit in melee combat. He keeps himself moving during combat, even if just slightly in order to keep the opponent from gaging their own maai (the distance in which someone can attack), while at the same time measuring his own maai and making sure his body is ready to dash forward and attack. He focuses not only in the body movement of his opponents while fighting, but on his heartbeat and brain activity thanks to the perks of his Byakugan which allows him to further anticipate his opponents actions.
This particular style, combined with the powerful doujutsu made him a natural counter attacker. Shigure is quite skilled at deflecting or blocking a blow, only to immediately follow up with a deadly strike of the Gentle Fist as a counter by either aiming at an organ, or at sealing a tenketsu, thus rendering his opponent weaker over time in order to assure victory. Avoiding getting hit is one of his top priorities since he is not very strong physically, having focused entirely on the speed and swiftness of his movements.
Although he is not particularly fond of weapons, he will use them from time to time, especially when he or his group is outnumbered or overpowered. Even then, he will focus on diverting their attention in order to successfully and quickly attack them with the Gentle Fist. That being said, his preferred weapons are are kunais attached to explosive notes and smoke bombs. Smoke is his friend in general, as it should be for any true shinobi blessed with the byakugan. His style is quite silent too, since even the sound of the impact of the Gentle Fist is discrete, and Shigure tries to use it to his advantage; some enemies don’t realize the damage they have suffered until it’s too late.

『 BYAKUGAN 』Like all members of his clan, Shigure also has the famous Byakugan as one of his signature traits. Naturally, Shigure’s eyes have a near 360 degrees field of vision around himself, save for a small blindspot at the back of his neck above the thoracic vertebra. His eyes are capable of seeing through most objects, giving him great perception of his environment, and making quite the challenge to surprise or ambush the Hyuuga when his doujutsu is activated. Having been seriously trained to develop his sight, Shigure managed to increase the range of his Byakugan to a respectful 5 kilometres range, which makes him quite the competent tracker in missions. His eyes also allow him to see infrared, through chakra barriers, discern clones from their makers, determine colour of someone’s chakra, and determine if a genjutsu is being used or not.
He is also very capable in his ability to see chakra, including the chakra circulatory system inside a person’s body, thus allowing him to easily identify the precise location of the tenketsus, which is paramount in the use of the Gentle Fist to its maximum capacity, power, and finesse. On top of it all, Shigure’s training and experience as a people’s person allowed him to add this insight to the power of his Byakugan, thus making him quite competent at reading people’s emotions. Therefore, when using his Byakugan, Shigure can usually detect if someone is lying through the impulses of their brain, heartbeat, and general body language. Moreover, when focused on an opponent, Shigure can even anticipate their reactions based on their muscles and body functions prior to the execution of an action.
『 ENHANCED COMBAT SPEED 』What Shigure lacks in physical strength, he definitely makes it up in the combat speed department. Having trained the Gentle Fist since his early childhood, the Hyuuga learned that raw power and superior strength were borderline useless for his style since, in the end, nobody can train their inner organs to become stronger. Therefore, the chakra reliant style of the Hyuuga fighting style was more than enough for him to achieve the desired results in battle. Thus, the truly efficient way to improve his fighting capabilities was directly associated with how fast he could act and react in a fight.
Shigure’s reflexes are absurdly sharp, and he can react almost instantly to attacks, which makes him quite skilled at counter attacking with his deadly Gentle Fist, making it difficult for opponents to actually land a blow on him. In short, he can react fast to combat situations.
『 ENHANCED CHAKRA CONTROL 』Due to the intensity of his training and his overall style as a practitioner of the Gentle Fist, as well as his Hyuuga genes, Shigure was able to develop a level of chakra control that puts him above that of his peers, equiparing himself to those a rank higher. His level of control is remarkable and allows him to optimise the usage of chakra, avoiding any unnecessary waste while using his techniques. This ability gives him an edge on the battlefield, as he is able to use more techniques, with more frequencing, while also avoiding the draining effects of running out of chakra due to waste.
『 GENTLE FIST SAVANT 』Shigure is a natural savant at his clan’s legendary Taijutsu style despite being a sort of a late bloomer. He has developed an incredible proficiency with the techniques of his clan, that allows him to stand out above even his fellow kinsmen. With his current level of understanding and application of his techniques, the heir to the clan brings incredible precision and swiftness to his attacks, rarely ever missing his mark once an attack is launched.
Guided by his potent doujutsu, he became an expert at shutting down his opponents chakra network, as well as combining the techniques of the clan together to deliver even more powerful attacks. He can, while using the Gentle Fist and it's techniques, also land more blows per second than most of his peers, moving so swiftly that it’s even hard to keep up. This makes him an incredibly dangerous opponent to fight at close quarters, as he is capable of giving even higher ranking Shinobi a real challenge.
『 MOVEMENT SPEED 』Shigure's speed is no longer solely restricted to his reaction speed in a fight; he can also move extremely fast. The Hyuuga can run at an incredible speed, capable of matching higher ranking shinobi. Keeping up with his pace is an strenuous task for those who are not skilled in close quarter combat, and to the untrained eye his movements will appear like a blur. If his opponents do not have superior reaction speed, they may struggle to evade him from closing in during battle, or from catching up to them in a chase. As consequence, he is also quite capable at retreating from combat, as few can match his full speed.
『 SUPERIOR AGILITY 』The Hyuuga has improved his melee dexterity dramatically thanks to his intense training, dedication and hard work. His body learned to move with grace, no matter to which direction (forward, backwards, sideways), without straining his muscles, which are now capable of handling his body weight and swiftness in battle. Due to this, he can move around with near-perfect movement precision, making so that no wasteful movement is used, and his body moves at full efficacy. This allows him to move without any momentum, giving him an advantage in combat.
When considered in combination with his superior movement speed and combat reflexes, and this ability to maneuver without being hampered by his own body makes opponents of similar level have a terrible time landing a blow on him.
