Up a slight incline, down in the same incline. Repetitive. Slow. Comforting. A sounds lessens in volume. Thrashing decreases in intensity and frequency. Movements are slower and calm. Small noises occasionally come from him, but the screaming has ceased. [break][break] "Oh thank kami, he's calm." Reiashi would comment as he slowly placed one of the infant oprhans into his crib. Helping at the orphanage was a chore, but one Reiashi enjoyed. He always had a soft spot for kids. With a smile, he'd slowly head back downstairs to the... older children. Specifically five and up. Which meant usually: chaos. [break][break] There is movement, but not much noise. Footsteps in a rhythmic pattern. A workout? Unlikely, the children still talked during that. Were they planning some sort of prank and getting ready to spring it? The rhythmic nature was against such a conclusion... but a the same time, that could be used against him. Wait.... three, two, three... They were dancing. [break][break] "Oh he finally started that." Reiashi commented as he opened the door to the big room where the kids were given room to free. Yuuta had been talking about the idea of getting the kids to dance as a form of exercise. Honestly Yuuta's muse tended to float about, which lead to quite a few one off ventures that never ceased to bring a small genuine smile to Reiashi's face. But there was something nice about Yuuta actually going all the way with something that made his grin all the larger. [break][break] Everyone is born with a unique set of talents and abilities. Not just in combat, but in all aspects of life. Everyone chooses which to nurture, which to set aside for a time, which ignore completely. Few skills were ever needed for one job, and can be used in multiple ways. Yuuta is a man of contradicting talents, not much unlike me. His talents are also spread about and numerous, even if he is unaware of it as many are. Combat is irrelevant here, so it is best to not dwell on it. Socially, his talents lie in cutting through social stigma, neutrality, understanding, constant contradiction, a hard to read nature, a bleeding heart, and a strange morality that allowed him to cut through morality itself. [break][break] But how did he use them? [break][break] Yuuta, although initially not purposefully, almost always goes out of his way to cut through political speak and decorum. While this does create tension, it also cuts unneeded time and handles the heart of the matter. It is a talent both passively and purposefully fostered, and is among his strongest. Although he has a hard time setting it aside, as I do with my own brain, it is a powerful talent. However like any weapon, if used at the wrong time, it can do more damage than good. [break][break] His neutrality is used as an ability to play devil's advocate. It is hard for most to tell when Yuuta is being genuine, and he uses this to his advantage to argue the other side of most debates. Sometimes this is merely to strengthen one's resolve in an idea, and other times it is because Yuuta knows the other person wants to see the bigger picture, and that many people require a mirror to see what their eyes cannot. Rarely does Yuuta argue to change someone's mind if it is important to them. Instead he seeks to help, be it by enforcing what is there, or helping his friends to see what their own views hide. [break][break] His understanding is often put to the side, but never fully ignored. His mind does not work my mine, constantly informing him of unfinished tasks, ways to preform optimally, or trying to understand the world around him as vividly as possible. Instead he merely excepts the world, and those within it for how they are. The only time he'll ask why is so he can support those around him. This would also come into play with his later morality. [break][break] Just as Yuuta and I are different however, we both share our similarities. A talent we both have is an acceptance and balance of opposites and contradictions. Too often we both find the people of the world cutting everything off into small sections to easily code. While this... may be possible with the physical world, the mental and metaphysical were far to fluid for that to work. While my definitions tend to lean more towards a sense of unseen order and a balance between all of the strange opposites of the world, Yuuta has taken the ability and focused it on an acceptance of and at the same time rejection of balance. It was not that balance didn't exist, just that most people's definition of balance was too rigid to ever actually work. I recall a saying... "Like a spinning disk, the world is constantly turning and wobbling from side to side. It is not predictable and not controlled. But it works anyways." It was a way that had it's uses. Yuuta was rarely phased. It allows him to keep a calm head... well as calm as a man who has neglected the training of discipline can be. [break][break] The biggest talent he has is his heart. He has molded it into a double edged sword. His muse is fickle, and he's often floating from thing to thing, much like I do. Unlike me however, Yuuta cannot attach as easily to something. Though we both apply the same amount of focus, to where the rest of the world fades, Yuuta's desires are often fleeting and require multiple visits before he gets attached to them. Still, this has also lead to a Yuuta who wears his heart on his sleeve. Such people who truly do that are rare, and should be cherished. However... such people are also usually immature. A small chuckle would break his lips. [break][break] Then there was that last talent... Yuuta's strange sense of morality. Devil-may-care, muted, calm, detached. Many people had many words for it. But that talent has allowed Yuuta to look at things in a way no other can. Somehow he manages to be emotional and cold at once. If someone dies, they die. He will mourn them, and he will let them know they are missed. But the morality of their death, the idea of if anyone was responsible... he seemed to cut through it. Especially idealism. We differ on that front. Yuuta will not hold a grudge at someone for killing an innocent, but will hold a grudge at others for hurting anyone he cares about. He also will cut through the idea that dying with morals intact makes one any better than another. "The worms and fungi do not care what words you spat as you died, nor do they care that you watched others die so that you could feel good about yourself." He certainly had a lot of quotes. It is a strange part of Yuuta's many personality based talents. It had uses, but the more moral side of me hates it. Yet I can never... be mad at Yuuta for it. Yuuta was never mad at me for being moral. He just acknowledged that, more often than not, most morals merely acted to make someone feel better about their actions. [break][break] In Reiashi's mind, his heart and caring was the most important one Yuuta fostered. Yuuta's base personality traits were perfect for an unfeeling and dark tactician. Yet in spite of his he fostered and helped his more wild and passionate side to blossom. Yuuta wanted to see everyone grow and change, to stay true to themselves, and to live and let live. He took his talents, made for that of a shinobi, and built them into the idea of a person. Similarly, Reiashi's default traits were perfect for a zealot. Rigid beliefs, a desire for unity and peace, and a drive that caused him to put his bones within everything. Torashi could have been the best solider of the Hidden Leaf Village. Instead he found his opposite and met it. He tempered his passions, blended the various thoughts and ideals that made up both him and the world, and built upon them to make Reiashi; not the best shinobi, but a good individual within the village. That was what they both had in common. It would forever bond them. [break][break] Shaking his head, Reiashi would refocus. He needed to find out if Yuuta had actually gone through with his idea.
