It had been a few weeks before Taki was set to get going on her sage training and getting close to her Uncle's Birthday and Riku was struggling to move on and needed some company and a little bit of muscle to help clean out her home and move a few things down into their home. It was a chilly afternoon and Taki in her usual leather jacket and a pair of leather pants would arrive at her Aunt’s home in the early morning hours and would help her carry all sorts of junk out of the attic of their home and towards a pile they were making filled with trash or broken down pieces of furniture that needed to be discarded.

It wasn’t exactly fun but Taki adored being around her aunt and knew that even if she didn’t show it she was still hurting from the loss of her husband even more so since it seemed as if she was starting to entertain the thought that he might actually be gone, it’d been nearly 2 years after all and while Taki did her best to try and keep her afloat, Riku was grown and knew she couldn't entertain the promises of a child even if she really did want to believe much like she did.

Currently the two girls were in the process of digging through a few old boxes and moving em downstairs each one sealed up crudely with tape almost as if they were put up there for a reason. "Sheesh Auntie you needed help liftin awl a dis?" the younger blonde would wonder as she carried them down the stairs "Dhese are like paypa weights?" she'd say as she made her way down the stairs and handed the box to her aunt to add to the ever mounting pile of cardboard. "What're ya doin wit awl o dis anyway?" she'd say leaning against the stairs.

During Taki's training she learns that she has a significant amount of energy and after graduating to the rank of genin she began to learn how to properly make use of them under the tutelage of Midori Chizawa. As a result the girl is now able to perform a bevy of powerful techniques for longer periods of time without tiring as quickly as others.

With the rigorous training that Taki's now able to throw down with the best of them boasting monstrous strength fitting for her professional wrestling background, having combined that with the training she performed at the academy has now made her able to performs ridiculous feats such as being able to crush stones in her grip causing concussions and snap bones with her powerful strikes and holds. Taki has also increased the amount of weight she is able to lift by a massive margin in a way that makes her an even more fearsome taijutsu practitioner than before.

As a result of her training, and advancements as a genin. Taki's grappling ability has increased even further making her wrestling based techniques far more difficult to deal with and escape from. As a result, her slams, holds, submissions and suplex's are far more damaging and harder to escape from then that of a genin who is not trained in these particular abilities.

It was chilly out, summer having now fully cooled into autumn, but Riku was dressed for comfort and a day of hard cleaning--shorts and a t-shirt, heavy boots, her hair covered with a vivid Okada-orange bandanna. Despite the chilly air drifting in through the open front door and Riku's warm-weather outfit, a thin layer of sweat glistened on her skin, betraying the effort she'd already been putting in before Taki arrived. "Tch," she said to Taki's paypa weights comment, rolling her eyes at the girl. A small smile tugged at her lips despite herself; no matter how much Taki grew, she still somehow stayed the same. "I'll hear it after you go up and down these stairs a coupl'a dozen more times, girl." She took the box out of Taki's hands, holding it in one arm as if to prove a point. There really was a lot, though. She put the box down with the rest of the pile and wiped the sweat from her brow with a forearm, staring down at the taped-up box with a small, pensive frown. Part of her wanted to go through it, examine the contents, surely there were things worth keeping inside-- No, she thought. If she kept one thing, she'd keep it all. There was a ghost in her attic, and she had to be done with it. She sighed heavily, scratching at the back of her head as she turned back to her niece, who was leaning against the stairs. "'s all your uncle's old things," Riku said decisively. "It's just--it's time, y'know?"

As the girl came down the stairs she’d hand the box to her aunt who seemingly seemed a little fed up with her back talk, she’d smile to her however it was all in good fun and that was what she loved about her, she was a lot more casual than her mother and while she arguably held her mother in higher regard, Riku was the closest thing to a second mom she had and it’s precisely why if anything were to happen to either her father or mother she’d be left in her care. "I could run up dhese steps a thousand times and still not break a sweat.” she’d say sticking her tongue out at her.

As her aunt added it to the pile she’d remark about how everything in there were things that belonged o her uncle she figured as much and was honestly afraid of the answer and the words she added afterwards put a frown on her face too. "Maybe if I wasn't being held down…I coulda brought him back by now…” the girl would say somewhat angered at her situation feeling like this training she was going to be going on took way too long to get there.

"Dis trainin took too long to get here...and we woulda just hurried up I coulda done somethin...I coulda just..." the girl was letting her anger get to her and would let out a sigh. "I'm sorry Auntie...I just feel like I'm letting you down." she had nothing to apologize for but couldn’t help but feel she had this weight on her back after making such a big declaration about leaving the family business to go out on a limb and save him.

But that was a near impossible order to fill and it’s been nearly 3 years since he went missing in Konoha. At this point it was realistic for her aunt to move everything into storage but she felt like doing so meant they were forgetting about him and she didn’t want that. But seeing the one person who was closer to him than anyone else in the family seemingly giving up didn’t do a lot for her morale.

Without saying another word the girl would make herself up the stairs looking over at the attic there was quite a bit of stuff left but one thing that had caught her attention was something she failed to notice in the corner…a guitar case…? And on top of it seemed to be a folder with the words songs for Riku. The girl raised a brow and picked it up and took it down towards her aunt. "Auntie…you didn’t tell me Uncle Tetsuya played guitar…?” she’d say holding the two items at the top of the stairs something Riku would recognize immediately.

Sometimes, Riku thought dimly, she wondered if it had been wise, letting Taki run wild with this dream. She didn’t understand any of this shinobi stuff, not from Himawari and not from Taki, but it had seemed like a good enough distraction at the time—something for Taki to focus on that wasn’t just loss, something she could pour her anger and frustration and grief into that would leave her with something useful on the other end. Problem was, it seemed more and more like Taki wasn’t reaching any other end. Taki had been so sure that Tetsu was taken, with that pure unwavering confidence of a twelve-year-old who refused to believe that someone she loved was dead. Easy enough to encourage her when Riku didn’t want to believe it either. But three years was a long time to carry that weight. "You’re not lettin’ me down,” Riku said firmly. "I know you’ve been workin’ hard, baby, you got nothin’ to apologize for.” Taki disappeared back up the stairs. Riku let out a low, quiet sigh, trying to breathe out the tension as she rubbed her forehead. Definitely not going to go through the boxes, she decided. This was hard enough as it was. Taki’s voice rang down the stairs again, and Riku pulled her hand away from her face, trying to compose herself. A hard task to begin with, made harder still by what she saw in Taki’s hands. "Mm,” was all she could manage at first. How often had she seen him with that in his lap, his thick scarred fingers plucking at the strings, humming a tune she couldn’t make out under his breath? "Tetsu… yeah. He played.” She swallowed thickly, and turned away from the stairs, fussing with the stack of boxes. Had to make sure the tape was secured. "Didn’t have much time for it, he was busy, yanno, but—when he could, he did. Had some buddies he played with sometimes, once a month maybe.”

As the girl reflected on her aunts words saying she wasn’t letting her down it’d make her feel a little better but there was a hint of guilt in her words, she placed a lot on her shoulders and wanted to make sure she delivered. ”I know but still…I’ll do my best to get the job done…I promise.” as she said this the girl would hold the guitar case in her hands as she made her way down the stairs, her aunt letting her know that one of his squadmates and him would occasionally play together.

As she opened up the case she’d find sheet music with some inscriptions written on it that she couldn’t comprehend. "Looks pretty complicated…” After glancing it over she read the lyrics. They were a little corny but still sweet nonetheless. "What were all these?” she’d ask showing her the sheets of paper. It might’ve not been the most sensitive thing to ask given how rough the subject must’ve been but it was nice to get a glimpse into parts of her uncle she never knew about, especially since it was something that seemingly only she and Mari knew about.

There was a song written there with the title "Mari’s lullaby" and "Riku’s song." no doubt songs that were written for the two of them. "Y-ya know what neva mind…I'm sorry auntie I...don't wanna...uhh...” she’d say not wanting to bring it up feeling it was bit touchy stammering a tad. "Uhh…where da ya want it…?” the girl would ask keeping a bit of a sharp eye on it.

When transforming into Sage Mode Taki's body and overall Taijutsu prowess increase exponentially most notably her grip strength allowing her to take hold of someone with a painful amount of power amplifying her already proficient ability to grapple with an opponent making it significantly harder to be broken out of as well a deal a considerable amount of damage.

When transforming into Sage Mode Taki's body Taki is able to use nature energy to harness her powers in order to make her more physically imposing than normal adding to her natural affinities with Taijutsu allowing her move faster and hit harder heavy items thus adding a good amount of power and heft to her attacks allowing her to snap bones with much less effort and outpace a good majority of her enemies with her monstrous charge.

Due to the coarse strength of a gorilla's skin Taki is able to withstand a good amount of extra punishment allowing her to be able to withstand blows from most enemies that most shinobi wouldn't be able to normally withstand. As such blows from strong fighters are reduced by a considerable amount and when struck feel like colliding with a considerably immovable force.

Riku didn’t want to look at what Taki was holding up. She heard the crinkling of paper in Taki’s hand and she knew, she knew what it was, what Taki was asking her. The words died in her throat. She didn’t look over her shoulder, just kept fussing with the boxes. All the world narrowed down to the stack in front of her and the girl behind her, and for a long minute all she could do was breathe slow and careful and deep to try to keep the tears from falling. Luckily, Taki dropped it. Bless her. It was still another long moment before Riku could respond, firmly pushing the memories out of her mind. "Any box is fine, baby,” she said thickly, still not turning around. "Don’t matter, it’s gettin’ trashed with the rest of it. Nothin’ but memories, now.” Another deep breath. "Y’can take the guitar to one of Tetsu’s buddies, maybe he can tune it up and sell it for ya—better than letting it rot somewhere, yeah? Just put the rest anywhere.” Though maybe it was worth holding onto… it was one of Tetsu’s most precious belongings, he loved that thing like he loved Riku and Himari, like he loved this village, like he loved everything that he held close: with his whole chest, all of him, no hesitation. But he was dead, and it wasn’t doing any good collecting dust in Riku’s attic. Better for it to just be gone.
