What is Time? Time isn't an answer, well, it can be. But, if you want to break it down, we MUST understand the past/present/future is AS REAL as only the Present and everything else being only memories. Time is broken down into three aspects, these aspects represent the base of time and each is what we Himishi use to base our ideals and philosophy on.

Nothing can change the PAST, time has passed, what's done is done. To my knowledge, one cannot undo history. One cannot change what is written in stone. People obsess over the past by the excuse of thinking on what-if scenarios, they constantly mull over what happens and refuse to move forward. This is how you get stuck in the past and no matter what you do... IT WILL NEVER CHANGE. This is exactly what the Himishi actively try to avoid, this is why our ideal is to take lessons from the past and move on. This does involve looking back but it doesn't involve chasing the White Rabbit.

The Present is limited only by yourself. Here, the Himishi say To better yourself, both as Himishi and a Shinobi. Here in the present, we train, we eat, we live, we do our obligations. This is where we know what's real, as it is purely unaffected by time and is solely based on materialistic characteristics. Such as molecules that make up matter and solids, liquids, and gases. As noted previously, every aspect of time is just as real but it isn't as it is merely a culmination of memories of what/where things used to be. It is important to note, here especially, that time exists both as AND as well as an OR state.

Unknown, infinitely uncertain. The Future can follow 2 principles. It can be completely random, a phenomenon created by a theory called the Butterfly Effect or it can be entirely subsequential, following predetermined or localized events, both past and present, and ultimately creating/fostering the Future event. We don't know much more, only that there are favorable and unfavorable outcomes. The Himishi ideal is to take our better Present selves, apply it with our Past knowledge, in order to strive and pursue a favorable outcome.

I don't think one can exist without the other but it is my opinion.
