It wasn't even that long since she came home from the exams that she was rudely awoken from her sleep. "Hey! You are required to attend this meeting!" A voice yelled through her door before shoving a paper in between her door. "Come on, just let me sleep!" Haruka gripped her pillow before throwing at the door as if it would cancel what she needed to attend. There was a flaw, now what was she going to rest her head on? The Kunoichi sat up from her bed before gathering her current Genin equipment the girl sighed as she looked at her face clips. She lifted them close to her face but clearly hesitated. She put them back on her wardrobe.

"I'm no longer the kid who wore these, I don't deserve to." The Himishi stated as she looked at the parchment, it wasn't a geographical location but longitude and latitude numbers. Haruka activated her Tomekenzangan to recognize the coordinates, but as she did, it unlocked something akin to a treasure map, the knowledge feeding into her. It didn't take long for her to memorize the way and location as the map flash burned in her hands, turning to ash before she could even feel the sweeping heat. The girl wondered what it was about, the jarring thing was that it wasn't exactly in the village, it was close but outside the distance a Genin could go.

Whatever it was, Haruka had no time to dwindle on thoughts; as fast as she could, the girl left her residence, her clan compound, the village, heading in a beeline towards the marked location, keeping her Tomekenzangan active as she continued moving to the locale. It was necessarily difficult but the route to it was not only confusing as hell, hard to pinpoint exactly where she needed to go. There was no easy route which made her extremely glad she kept her Tomekenzangan active as she pushed her way forward, it helped her memorize the path easier and faster than most. Upon reaching the location, the Genin was met by a very odd, peculiar sight of multiple figures.

Not even her eyes prepared her for seeing cloaked and masked figures in a half crescent in front of her, as if they knew exactly where she'd come from. Haruka's eyes lingered specifically on the one holding a clearly visible scroll. "What uh... who are you guys and why am I here?" The Kunoichi asked as she continued checking the people around her. The voice that sounded to answer her question, it didn't really sound natural. "Your performance at the Chūnin Exams, along with your Kekkai Genkai, has caught the interest of Iwagakure's Special Forces, the ANBU." Haruka stared at the figure as they moved closer, naturally her body tensed up as she prepared for an all-out attack.

"Relax, we won't hurt our newest operative, not outside of training." Haruka watched as the figure unfurled the scroll. "I'm sorry, come again?" The Kunoichi was understandably confused as she tried to comprehend that she heard right. "Upon reaching the rank of Chūnin, you have been unanimously selected to be of Iwagakure's ANBU. This is an order, you cannot deny, but we have prepared utilities most useful to you." The Kunoichi sighed. "Well, I have no room to hesitate, I'm ready." The figure unsealed the contents of the scroll to reveal a wide array of items.

"A Tokei, you must be familiar with these so you must inherently know its purpose." Haruka simply nodded as she was given the watch to wear. "Wire string reels for combat and traps. Coal Lotion to keep looking young and honestly, it's just here cause it's an Iwagakure favorite. Two Fumei Ha, unleash that inner assassin. Food pills are obviously for survival and the prize, your official mask. Unleash the inner demon god, the Tengu." Haruka looked at the mask provided before taking and putting it on, drawing her own hood up. "Anything else, Taicho?" The Kunoichi asked as she placed a hand on her hip.

"Yes... these blades. Jikan no te." Two blades were presented to Haruka, one black while the other is red. "One blade freezes the senses while the other cuts with a pain delay... think of it as-" "Swords bending time." Haruka finished his sentence as she took the blades, analyzing them. Before she even had time to thank him.

"Wait what?" Before she could get an answer out of anyone, solid rock ripped from the ground to create a large dome of a cave. Haruka kept her Tomekenzangan active as she looked around. "Not even a courtesy warning, talk about rude!" Haruka kicked the downed opponent in the stomach before kicking them in the shoulder, staring straight at them petrifying them in place. The Kunoichi crouched down near them and ejected the Fumei Ha just above their neck. "Quickest takedown I've seen, return." Haruka nodded at her peer before retracting the blade and standing up. Disabling the genjutsu in order to assist them up. "Himishi Haruka, you cannot leave until you finish this gauntlet, finish it to complete your indoctrination and go home."

Haruka saw something during her look around, it was a fine needle, almost as thick as a hair, it was a miracle the Kunoichi could see it at all given how fine it was. She moved her head to the side at the last second and it brushed through her hair. The Kunoichi scoffed before seeing hundreds and hundreds of varying thickness metallic senbon racing to her. Throwing off the weights on her limbs, she dipped and weaved through the steady stream as she started weaving handseals for a jutsu. Another stream of senbon started racing to her and Haruka swept her hand in an arch.

Fūton chakra blasted at the senbon, blowing and disrupting them for Haruka to leap backwards, the only problem, she moved into a trifecta range of 3 water senbon torrents. It went just as well as one could imagine. Even if she was reacting and dodging to some, even her speed and her skill with the Tomekenzangan started failing her. Pelted, sliced, and pierced, the girl did her best to fight through the pain but she fell to her knees after a minute of continuous dodging.

"Himishi... get back up... it isn't over until you fall over." Haruka looked up and coughed up blood before cracking her neck and getting back up, moving the Tengu mask into place.

The ground she was standing on started to shake. Haruka looked at her feet, watching in case something threatened to jut up at her. She slowed her breathing as she focused even harder, unaware of a figure sneaking behind her. As nothing seemed to be coming from the ground, the Kunoichi stood back up, but as she did, Haruka felt and saw a blade pierce through her right shoulder. The Himishi yelled in pain only for it to be answered by a nonchalant voice. "Always watch all around you. Third challenge failed." The figure shoved Haruka forward as he retracted the blade. It took almost no time at all as medical shinobi came to patch Haruka up for the figure to vanish.

"Injury won't get you out of here, you must complete the gauntlet or you cannot leave." Haruka sighed as she allowed time for her injuries to heal. "Just try to finish up before sundown, you're a Chūnin now, it shouldn't be that hard." Haruka groaned as she relaxed her head against the ground as the medics finished tending to her wounds. "Don't suppose you guys got any tips?" Haruka whispered as she felt a Mystical Palm touch finalize wounds mending.

"Think of this as a timeline, one you can alter. Perception can be altered by you guys, right? Alter it." A woman said as she finished the mending with a small transfer of chakra.

Haruka closed her eyes as she sighed again. "Yes, my 'people' do that... But, I think I see what you are getting at." The Kunoichi stated as she sat up, turning to the other as she gave her a nod of the head. She looked back in front of her, her Tomekenzangan burning brightly behind her mask. Time, everyone moved with it and it keeps going even if you don't. It flows regardless of the flow of everything else. Something she understood and the process can apply here, but, where it applied introduced the concept of parallels, timelines running concurrently with minor changes, the insinuation to alter them is the very act of seeing them all, and using the correct timeline to accomplish your goal, even if that meant bending the fabric of reality to change or even create a timeline.

DESCRIPTION:
A truly horrifying technique that has caused many people to lose more than just their nerve. This technique causes the target to feel something squirming in their stomach and all at once a multitude of tentacles burst from their body. Some come right through the skin and other from their nose, ears, mouth and around their eyes.

The technique is meant to attempt and place an emotion of deep rooted terror. The technique is extremely realistic with the target feeling them wiggling out of their flesh, they can hear high pitched screeches. After a few moments the tentacles will turn and the ends will reveal tiny mouths which will start to tear at their flesh. Diving forward, Haruka grabbed the downed operative, tucking and rolling so in essence, he shielded her as she heard 1... 2... 10... then a hundred senbon hit the meat shield. The Kunoichi counted a total of five seconds before she flipped over the man and another torrent of senbon came at them from multiple angles.

Prior to the senbon even finishing, the ground began to quake and the girl stared blankly before raising a single seal, for the most part vanishing from where she was. Something unprecedented altered her timeline. As Haruka reappeared moments later, she dropped the handseal as sn opponent appeared in front of her, swinging a battle axe at her. Haruka pulled up her red sword, allowing it to take the brunt of the blow. Okay, uncharted territory, let's go. The Kunoichi thought as she diagonally slashed her opponent.

Yeah, not as sneaky as you think. The Himishi charged the man and he charged back, almost as if she was oblivious to the threat above...

"The more physical gauntlet is completed, but there is only one way out and it's not a simple way... can you solve it?" The voice stated the question.

The simplest route would be just to take on the man at the end directly but it risks a fight and backup. A more energy-saving task would be fall asleep and figure out tomorrow, but the most practical would be to take someone out, disguise as them and leave. Nothing sounded difficult about it.

After spending sometime memorizing the routes and amount of time she would have if her cover was blown. The Kunoichi crawled across rooftops, minimizing as much of her sound as possible as she came closer to an illuminated corner. She looked around and it seemed clear around them. Haruka weaved the needed handseals and fired a set of three air bullets before dropping after them. The air bullets blew out and destroyed the torch out of the figure's hand, before she even had a chance to react, Haruka landed on their back and held their neck, trying to choke them to unconsciousness. Her opposite hand was already covering their mouth. It took a bit but they finally dropped and relaxed, prompting Haruka to sigh as she let go of the figure and they dropped. She took quick note of their appearance before weaving another set of seals, changing her appearance to mimic theirs.

Grumbling to herself, Haruka started picking up the unconscious body before leaping and parkouring onto the building. Placing the figure in a space impossible to see from the ground, Haruka jumped back down before mimicking the current rotation to shift closer to her destination. The girl examined her watch, counting down the seconds before she would start to walk her walk to the exit. "How strong is our will?" It was the question she was greeted with upon arrival at the exit.

Haruka didn't think about it too much but in the very essence, it was a hyperbole that even the Himishi could best the will of the village. With an aggravated tone, the girl replied, "Stone Weathers Time Itself." There was a long pause before the guard turned to unlock the door, opening it to allow Haruka out. Once she was outside, she immediately dropped her henge and turned to the shocked guard. "Guess we can all go home now." Twenty or so masked figures appeared around her and Haruka's hand rested by the hilts of her blade.

"You still have a lot to learn but you are now an official ANBU member and a Chūnin, go rest and await your next assignment." After the voice was finished, the Kunoichi made her room to do just that, but also rest for a good bit too. That was honestly a waste of energy.
