LITTLE TOTA

When a new day arrived, Tota rose from his covers and let out a huge yawn. Early in the morning, after only three hours sleep the boy still felt rather tired. He pushed himself through the lethargic tenderness of his muscles and quietly shuffled across the bed. On the egde of the firm mattress, Tota sat for a few moments dwelling on the distressing memories haunting his mind. He shook his head, as to clear it of the present images. Dwelling on the things he saw during the chuunin exams wouldn't help him, he needed something else to focus on.

He crept slowly out of bed, not to awaken the other sleeping children. It seemed he was the first once again, to be up and ready for the day. Tota smiled as he looked around to the stillness of the peacefully sleeping orphans; at least someone else is getting some good sleep he thought. Completely intent on getting on with what he plan for the day, Tota grabbed his backpack and made his way across the room. Step by step he silently walked to the exit, beginning his journey to the academy training yard.

As he left he looked back for a moment to see his friends, Hatohara and Dansui deep asleep. The gentle click of the door as he closed it sounded that Tota was off to begin his day.

LITTLE TOTA

A tired Tota jeered forward as he left the orphanage building. It seemed as though he hadn't awoken as much as he thought. He raised his hands to his face and rubbed his eyes as they adjusted to the morning sun. As his eyes cleared the boy smiled at the sight of Kirigakure still waking from its slumber. It took a few moments for the wonder to dissipate, and when it did Tota begun into a sprint.

The boy ran into the streets for his morning run with the intention to end at the academy training yard. It was his usual route, starting at the orphanage and making his way through the business district. He'd always wave and say hello as he passed each of the merchants opening their stores for the day. It always brought a smile to the boy's face as they waved back.

After the business district, Tota ran into the entertainment district. It was always eerily dead at this time of the day, letting Tota take in the sights of the night before. Sleeping drunks laid splade on the ground with half empty bottles of sake in their hands. Tota jumped over their bodies when they became an obstacle. After Tota finished his journey through the district and he stopped for a moment to rest.

LITTLE TOTA

The exhausted boy arched down and placed his palms against his knees. As he took short breathes of the cool morning air he felt his throat burn. Saliva built up in the crevasses of his gums as his body tried to remedy the exhaustion he was feeling. He continued to breath heavily, trying to rest a little. This gave him time to think, and time to doubt himself. 'It wasn't good enough. If I want to become the best I've got to run the whole way without stopping' Tota thought to himself.

Swinging his body back and straightening his spine, Tota looked down the road. The Muzikage's building stood erect down the road, blocking his route toward the academy. This gave Tota a moment to think about the Toru-same had said to him earlier in the week about becoming strong. The young Uchiha sighed to himself before forcing himself back into a sprint. Each step hurt more than the last, but nothing, absolutely nothing would stop him from reaching his goal.

It wouldn't take long for Tota tl reach the kage's building, taking a quick look up at a window as he passed it. He thought he saw a figure standing there behind the glass plane, but as he blinked they disappeared. Tota quickly looked away, staring at the goal of his journey not to far off in the distance.

LITTLE TOTA

Tota couldn't push himself anymore to run to the academy training yard. The sting in his legs and lungs flared, sending him into a coughing fit. He continued to move however, taking a brisk walk toward the building and recovering along the way. As he approached the open area, Tota heard multiple voices yelling out in resounding conflict. Curiosity took the better of the young boy, causing him to push himself through the rest of the way.

Once he had turned around the buildings corner, Tota saw three individuals standing around the wooden training dummies. It took him a moment to realise, but once he did the boy reeled back. Two of the people were those bullies Tota had been having troubles with lately and the other was the girl he saw training weeks ago one early morning.

He gathered the courage to move forward, thinking of the advice Daichi had given him. If he wanted to rid himself of their taunts, Tota would have to confront them. This seemed the perfect opportunity, Tota thought.

Tota balled his fists as he cautiously reached the group, ready to fight if he had too. When he got closer it became apparent that the bullies had tied the young girl to one of the practice dummies. "Hey, leave her alone!" Tota yelled.

LITTLE TOTA

The boy's shout alerted the group of three academy students to his presence, turning their head to face him in response to his demand. Tota glared at them with an angry piercing stare, showing a true distaste for their actions. As he continued to step forward and cautiously approach the group, their leader let out a maniacal chuckle. 'What chu going to do about it pipsqueak?" he bellowed.

Tota's head rose up with a confident prose, as he continued to pace forward. The tightness of his clenched fist increased, trying to contain the anger bellowing inside his mind. "I'll stop you! Everyone's sick of you guys picking on us." Tota shouted.

Once Tota finished his zealous spiel, the boy reeled back his arm and quickly hopped into a fighting stance. Without warning he flung his body forward at the leader, aiming to punch him square in the face. However the leader quickly swung his torso to the side and dodged the amateur punch. Tota quickly realized his mistake but before he could bounce back, the older academy student threw a punch of his own; aiming for Tota's stomach. A loud groan left Tota's lips at the moment of impact, and he was sent falling to the ground.

"Punk tried to hit me" The bully exclaimed to his peers, chuckling at Tota's condition.
