Hummingbird Forest The journey to this point was hardly one of much event. In truth, it was probably for the best. While she wasn't within a familiar setting, the peace that seemed to surround the location was enough to give some clarity of thought. Or at least, it was meant to. Having placed herself beneath one of the many trees in Hummingbird's forest, the dark haired female would continue to hold her focus, listening to the twittering of the native birds as they fluttered swiftly by. It wasn't much different from the previous day, or the day before that...or the day before that. Coming here had been a point of context. She wanted to be in a surrounding that was neutral for what she was attempting to do. Bond with Shukaku. The risk was certainly higher doing so within Kaze no Kuni, but it also allowed for a ground where they were both somewhat strangers to. Still, the progress of getting the beast to open up had been less than bountiful. If anything else, it seemed like there was even more of a barrier, the deeper she attempted to reach. Drawing her hands closer to her core, the Sunagakure nin would strength her resolve, her eyes still shut to the world as she adjusted her posture upon the ground. The grass tickled her legs, the soft crunching of leaves blowing against a slow moving breeze. She found herself almost missing the heat, but she refrained from those thoughts as she retained concentration. Before long, she'd release a breath, her hand resting upon her face as she narrowed her eyes. "Damn...how the hell did Bunpaku-san even stand a 100 years with you? I can barely take five hours!" SPOILER: Click to show -S.A Used- Will of Sand Will of Sand- Adding the element of her own chakra into the mixture of sand, Arashi is capable of faster and stronger sand manipulation and attacks. The extent of this control is due to the supply gathered within her gourd, granting the bonus of power, but limited to only the amount contained within it. This ability makes her constructions more dense and harder to break down, and the swiftness of their creation is instant rather than requiring the prior time of build-up as before due to the strengthened bond between Arashi and Shukaku Ultimate Defense A Skill granted by her continued use and developed relationship with Shukaku over the continued use of his control over sand, Arashi has a stronger connection to the element, allowing her to use it at a much more intensive rate than before. As such, her defenses are much more adapt and capable of taking on stronger attacks and reinforcing itself at faster speed. This adaptation to the sand shield allows for it's reaction time to have increased and make it more challenging for attacks to connect and break through the first layer, while acting still on the natural inclinations of auto-repairing itself for the next strike. Sand Control Arashi is granted two forms of defense by the Ichibi. The first one is a subconscious ability granted by the Bijuu is that there is constantly a barrier of sand clinging to Arashi’s skin. This barrier acts as a shield against her skin, absorbing heavy blows and protecting her. Her sand defense is very tough, being very difficult to break through. The sand has been likened to steel and concrete. The second form is one which pulls sand from her surroundings and the sand piled on her skin to form a visible barrier and dome like barrier around her. The sand is typically pulled from the ground and any nearby source. Arashi’s various dogs often have a plentiful amount of sand carried in their thick coats. As such, the sand is often pulled from their coats to be used to protect the girl. Through the course of her training, Arashi has learned to control both of these forms of defense to a degree, making her much more capable of mounting a defense in a variety of ways. But she still at times must incumbent some cooperation from Shukaku to ensure of it's sustainability. Arashi can control sand and wind around herself to whip up sandstorms with powerful gusts. The sandstorm often appears when she’s emotionally strained and damaged. If there is no sand around her, powerful breezes will still gather around her. Shukaku enjoys teasing the girl to the point where sandstorms appear. But with the course of time, Arashi had grown more comfortable with this and developed a thick skin towards such actions by the Bijuu. While Arashi had previous had little to no control over her other sand related abilities, she has a somewhat capable hand at this one. Because of the trauma of her sand attacking her classmates at a young age, Arashi has managed to reign in some of this power. Learning to bend the sand to her will, Arashi can keep it from hurting those she doesn’t want it to hurt. Sand will be gathered from nearby sources to be used as a weapon when this ability activates. This ability typically only activates when Arashi is in severe danger, but it has now become possible for her to do so with ease. Though it is more prone to activating near or on full moons. The sand takes the form of blunt objects or tendrils to bash or choke enemies. Green eyes reflected fields of grass that extended far beyond what the eyes could see. A spec of golden brown moving in the green could be seen from afar, a shimmer of metal reflecting the sun that glared high overhead. It showed just barely from underneath the trees where she may have believed she had been fully covered. Two men would stand near each other, their hands hidden underneath long robes, their headbands scratched out to the point where the village symbol underneath was no longer even legible.

"She’s alone, as promised,” one would say to the other. His tall, slender figure was made obvious underneath his oversized cloak as the wind that swayed the grass seemed to nearly blow him away as well.

"That she is,” the second man would say. His figure was more toned which was made increasingly obvious by the thick of his neck and squared jawline. A large hat sat atop his head, shading his face. A crooked smile was barely shown, sharpened teeth baring malice upon the unsuspecting Oonakayama who stood in the Hummingbird’s forest.

The first would reach to his pocket, grabbing a small black velvet sack and offering it to the second. "Here is your payment, then. Make quick work of it. The remaining bounty will be due on the retrieval of the Shukaku.” The second man would reach for the bag, only for it to be temptingly lifted. He would glare from underneath the hat.

"Alive,” the slender man would say.

A nod from the hatted figure as he repeated. "Alive.” The man would take the velvet sack, opening it carefully and taking out the small orb that was inside. It glowed with a brilliant red hue, reflecting a madness within that seemed rivaled by the blackness in the man’s heart.

He would lift his head, returning his gaze on the Oonakayama who stood alone, her figure just barely visible underneath the cover of the trees.

She would release a breath, and would speak, but before she could take another, she would find a knife at the back of her neck. The man with the hat was now standing directly behind her, his breath invading the inch of personal space around the back of her right ear. "You’re against the wind, birdie,” he’d whisper with an unnerving calmness.

He was just as much of a hunter as she was known for, but he’d never lost his prey.

It was strange when you found yourself with a sensation that crawled up the back of your neck and there was nothing there. Or course, there was something and you didn't know it until it was too late. While she was secure in her barrier, she had not taken the time to consider any outside forces attempting to move in. After all, it wasn't as though she had much to fear within a neutral country. So she thought anyway... As a sharp edge seemed aimed at her skin, the dry rubbing of steel grazing her hardened skin, Arashi would freeze only for a moment as a shadow seemed to loom over her, making a comment to their nature. Whether or not it was true didn't seem likely, though the girl had found herself in worst positions before. Releasing a soft breath, the young female would then feel the heat of their breath against her ear. They were certainly calm about this, meaning either they were confident, or at the very least prepared. Not to mention that if they wanted her dead, they would have gone for the attack. It would have failed, but that was a sign that they wanted her alive. Another wishes to use my power...of course they would come while we are outside of the desert... Less to worry about for them...still...not like I should be surprised...its not like it's much of a secret... Who's fault is that I wonder? What makes ya think it has to do with you? Closing her eyes, Arashi would seem to vanish within a cloud of dust, moving past and around the man as she appeared behind him, her hand outstretch and shaped into that of a sand blade to his neck. "I am the wind...now who the hell are you?" In saying this, she'd allow the weapon to grow in length, seeming to extend out further. "And don't be cute...trust me when I say mine is bigger than yours..." All-Covering Forests and Ten Thousand Things Assimilate Technique A technique that Arashi learned from Shukaku, it was grafted upon the creativity and consumption of a variety of different environments and adapting them to the needs of the user. When Arashi first learned of this, she used them simply as a means of allowing her to move with the usage of her sand, traveling among the currents of the wind from one place to the next. Though over time, she has adapted to them and made that very nature part of herself and learned to manipulate it to more than just the desert itself. With this growing understanding, comes her ability to use it to better suit her needs. Such as assimilation of Steel into her skin, or ash to the very minerals that build up the sand she controls to her will. This knowledge grants her the means to take these parts of her environment and impart them into her very being. While this is a short lived experience, they aid her in her ability to control the situation and to protect herself from threats that her Ultimate Sand Defense can not predict and allow for her to better protect herself. [attr="class","mnt"]The two would disappear almost instantaneously, and for a moment the forest would be silent, unmoving as if they had never crossed paths in the first place. The woman would think herself fast, but as fast as she was, the man was quicker, and if brute strength was placed into account, she would have more than a few broken bones to worry about from a solid hit from the male. He would meet Arashi’s sand blade with one of his own that seemed to have a nasty black and red color and the stench would catch her off guard at this distance. Upon closer inspection, it would seem as though a good year’s worth of blood had covered the blade and been allowed to fester and rot atop it. The blade was without a doubt dull and would completely harmless if not laced with a powerful poison which would show a subtle metallic coating over the black and red plagued tip.

The man would smile, "It seems this bird nips. Not to worry. I’m just going to pluck a few feathers.” he would say with an otherworldly grimace. "Let’s see how the great Desert Rose stands against the Kariudo .” [Lit. Huntsman] The man’s title was known worldwide, namely for his grotesque killing methods and love for sport in hunting his targets, but also for his knack as a black-market mercenary with very little limits on what he would and would not do. With most, the name alone would inspire fear, but perhaps that was all different with Arashi given her connection with the beast inside and the dangers she had come in contact with over the years.

Regardless, Kariudo was not an easy fight and even harder in a one-one-one combat scenario. The methods of his killing were to this date unknown. Perhaps she was the key to unlocking that into the Bingo Book.

Kariudo would press hard against, blade against blade with a surprisingly powerful force, much greater than even a typical Elite Jounin. With this sudden pressure, he would then release slowly, and suddenly put an even greater force against the blade, potentially catching Arashi off guard. If this tactic worked, she would be forced to lean into the attack and the second bout of pressure would knock her off balance, a fatal scratch for Arashi if it worked as planned.

Moment Music Her words did little to phase her attack, only simply having him turn around to meet her sand creation with a weapon of his own. The smell was an instant turn to what exactly was meant for her, prompting her to allow chakra to flow into her nostrils to give her just as much reason to be wary. If the fact that the man having a title and a good indication of her own call sign wasn't enough. While she wasn't familiar with the name, she imagined that he didn't get it by charity. None usually did when it came to certain lines of work. Yet with introduction clearly taken care of, his sudden push of force was enough to surprise her briefly, prompting her to lean in for a moment. Though as the second strike came, she'd manage to pull up and slide to the side as she allowed the sand blade to fade away. Shit...he fast...and that blade of his isn't just covered in old blood...theres a chemical in there that's probably poison... Enough to kill you? I doubt it...if that were the case he would have led with such a weapon the moment he caught you off-guard... I'm not the only one in here ya know? Despite her dealing with the fact that not even Kusagakure was safe from possible attacks from headhunters, she was curious as to whom might have sent this person? After all, there weren't many people that should have been aware of her being here. Maybe they had been following her since she left Kaze no Kuni? Even if that were the true, it didn't answer just who wanted her? Or for what reason... "Hmph...Be careful what ya huntin..." Extending her hand out, a seal would appear on the underside of her palm as she revealed a Fuma-shuriken from within it. As her hand gripped the weapon's hand, she'd spin it at the side of her frame before narrow her eyes at her target. "Sides...don't ya have anythin better to do?" With her foot tapping the ground, the image of her would seem to swiftly move far faster than the Huntsman might have expected, her frame seeming to split into after images that were constantly evading him. Yet, in truth, Arashi was simply retreating into the depths of the forest, her form dashing into the trees as she waited for a moment before proceeding forward. Perhaps if she got a good idea of this man's abilities, she may be able to find a way of dealing with his unprecedented skills. Why not kill the bastard? Just in case he isn't alone...I wanna see what he does...sides..its not like hes the first person that's tried to kidnap me...probably won't be the last either... In reality, she has simply discovered that by channeling some chakra to her nose she can enhance the cells within it and gain a super sense of smell that may act as a sensor and tracking technique. She can smell out strangers, steel and various other things. Arashi may retract her chakra from her nose as well to make her sense of smell return to normal. Due in most regards to her heavily enhanced sense of smell, With her continued usage of this ability, she has now become capable of near passively monitoring the exact range of a target and their positioning within 250 meters. (Able to turn "off and on" this enhanced sense at the 'prick' of chakra to her nose) Hunter's Instinct With her training from her mother, along with the lessons she learned from her time with the Saeko's Clan, Arashi adapted her tracking ability to a level similar to that of a sensory nin. As such, allowing her much more precision in her ability to find and keep on the heels of individual targets or groups through use of her enhanced sense of smell and ability to identify individuals and objects at long range. Ichibi Curse Seal The only ability Arashi has competent control over, this is the ability to utilize the curse seal marks over Shukaku’s body for her own bidding. Arashi can will the seals to cover her own body and control them to form various seals to preform fuuinjutsu from her own skin. As such, she can summon weapons she has sealed within them and rearrange the seals to be able to perform various fuuinjutsu that she has knowledge of without scrolls by using her own skin. She may also seal items within the curse marks and rearrange them to perform an unrelated technique before reforming them to summon the item at a later date. -Jutsu Used- NAME: Ichimokusan [As Fast As One Can Go] RANK: D CHAKRA USAGE: To Use: Very Low | To Maintain: Very Low CLASSIFICATION: Genjutsu ELEMENT: - HANDSEALS: 0 TRIGGER: Visual DESCRIPTION: After stamping one's foot, the user will cast a Genjutsu upon their opponent where it will appear as if they can move at speeds that match those who use the Eight Gates. Countless after images will begin to move about them, the user seemingly moving about in such a fashion that the opponents eyes simply cannot keep up, when in truth the user is completely unseen. [attr="class","mnt"]Kariudo smirked. Arashi’s response was as expected. Her effortless dodge of the blade gave him the impression that she was aware of its use. While he was aware of title, her ability to smell as well as she did was not information that was readily available. He had begun his hunt down wind. If he hadn’t, there’s no telling how this battle would have been altered. By the thought of it, it wouldn’t have been in his favor at all.

The man would watch as she’d extend her hand, a figure appearing on her palm. A fuma shuriken would appear, and an after image would expel itself and seem to evade his every effort to attack. After a momentary pause, Kariudo would become flustered. "Flying away, little bird?!” He’d bite the tip of his finger and place him palm flat on the ground. In a buff of smoke, three odd looking hounds would appear, each salivating profusely. Kariudo would whistle, and the hounds would burst out with a similar speed to what the man had displayed earlier. Their noses stuck to the ground they would lead him to Arashi’s position. However, the male would stay slightly behind.

One of the dogs would lung, two-inch-long canines aiming for the Oonakayama’s thigh. The other two were slightly behind, who upon arrival circled Arashi, spreading out to block her in. The man would not be far behind, the blade still white knuckled in his hand, his other hand hidden under his sleeve.

While she had managed to delay her attempted captor for a moment, a sudden change in odors upon his position had certainly shifted things a bit into another perspective. She was starting to get the smell of three other beings near him. As Arashi began to straighten her posture within the trees, their essence would soon be on the move and before she knew it, something seemed to be nipping close to her thigh, causing her to look over to see a canine with large teeth trying to reach her. Examining the dog from such a close angle, she'd realize instantly that it wasn't a regular dog. Though it did make her miss her own pack at this moment, she'd certainly be in better company. Shuffling higher, the dark hair female would grit her teeth as she smell the rest getting closer. Looking back at the one dog attacking her, her expression narrowed as she stab the Fuma Shuriken downward toward the beast the moment it attempted to lunge a second time, aiming for it's head as she'd draw the weapon back before darting through the upper surface of the trees yet again. Dogs too!? I could just phase outta here..but that isn't gonna solve my problem...he'll just keep huntin me... Then stand and fight! I grow tried of this useless fleeing...We should be rid of this fool by now! His mockery is as much an insult as your retreat.. Arashi would frown as she'd ignore Shukaku before resting a bit more ahead, her eyes narrowed as she'd draw the weapon close to her side. As she began to apply chakra into the center of the large tool, she'd wait until she could smell the group getting closer, throwing the star outward as she'd back while controlling it's movements. With the weapon turning and twisting through the brush, it'd attempt to aim at another of the dogs from the opposite direction, hopefully deterring his advance and taking away yet another of his guidance tools. I still have no idea what he's after me for...as long as I don't know that...I can't use you... Why do you care so much if we are exposed? Perhaps it is time that the world learn to fear me yet again... Maybe I like the idea of being able to just narrowly get around a village without being recognized... You continue to delude yourself...this whole trip was for you and I to come to terms, yet I see no progress in taking on my suggestions... Because if we did things your way...their would be no more forest... Hoping she'd hit her target, the teen would continue her journey further in, hoping to find perhaps another means in which to expose her attacker. Or at the very least, a better area in which to plan her next move. He had been told to bring her in alive, but his blood lust was becoming harder and harder to hold back. The scent of the woods filled his nostrils, and the putrid coating of his dagger masked the freshness with a more familiar scent that tagged alongside him like a shadow on a bad day.

The man unleashed a powerful, potent wave of chakra, menacing and toxic to the senses. It had the potential to bring the girl’s hairs on end if she could feel it. There was a breeze forming in the forest, surreal and wisping through the trunks as it whistled and cooed. Its strength was as furious as the chakra that presented itself.

The wind would howl, tunneling itself through the trees. The man seemed unphased. In fact, was he the one causing it? It was no natural wind, but it listened to him, answered to him. It seemed to beg for orders and its treacherous rending left scars on the trees as it passed through. It would push against Arashi violently, threatening to carve at her skin and clothes.

Cry of the Huntsman Arashi was doing her best to keep as much distance as possible, maybe even lure him into an area that was a bit more diverse in which to trap him. But as she turned to meet his cry when he called her name, she'd feel a rush of force that was strong enough to push her backwards, knocking her through trees and threatening to shred her to bits if not for her sand acting as a buffer. But even then, she could see it being pushed inward by the pulse of chakra, her body landing to the ground as she looked toward her surroundings and then back in the direction in which it came. The very trees were bending, bark scattered and leaves having been ripped from their limbs. "What the hell was that?!" Something very familiar I'd expect....much like that boy from that tournament years ago... Arashi recalled the moment that she met an individual that held the strength and abilities similar to that of a tailed beast. They were mad of course, driven to such a state by being possessed by a snake like demon. It was easy to forget that aside from the Tailed beasts, there were other things that lurked in this world that were just as horrifying if not just as deadly. Thankfully, that matter had been resolved by her helping to release the real person within, but she doubted this man wasn't in the same position. His chakra was near toxic, and it was almost enough to make her feel sick. If he continues you need not worry for being the cause of destruction...he clearly will do so for you...this is no time for hesitation! Gritting her teeth, her eyes narrowed before then looking to the side. It was only a matter a time before he might do something far worse. He wanted her to fight him directly and it was clear that he knew enough about her to make it so that he was aware that she was holding back. Whatever he was, he certainly was more than just some man for hire. We've only gone that far a few times...and that was training! So what? Do you see any other option to get close to him...you want to get close without being ripped a part, you need more of my chakra...or do you disagree? It was a questionable choice, and in honesty...it might change everything... But Kairuda was right...she wasn't showing him who she really was... As the tunnel like view revealed her hunter...Arashi would straighten her posture before waiting for him to get closer. This is the moment in which you decide if you can trust me girl...here and now... ----------------------------- Trusting Shukaku Within the mindscape of glass and endless sky, the girl would stand before the Sand Demon and look upon it with a serious expression. This place had only become more tranquil with the time that had passed between them. It was a sign that things were indeed different, and if it was to continue to remain as such...Arashi had to start trusting Shukaku to have her back completely...not just partially. As the two looked upon each other, the Oonakayama heiress would then smirk before shaking her head. "Didn't think we'd ever get to the point where your the one making sense..." I have no intention of living in a cage...as I have said before...I prefer my freedom...but...in the end...you made me remember a promise I made long ago...to an old man who thought I was his friend... Shukaku would remain silent before then continuing to speak... For years I toyed with the idea of breaking that promise...and every time I came close...I never fully realized it...because...it remained...all I had left of him...so perhaps...I do recall those that are important to me as you do...and I remember them by keeping to my word... It was one of the first times Shukaku truly opened up to her...and it was funny that it was at the moment that they might very well die. I think...I know that friend of yours...so ya better keep ya word then...cause I'm gonna need ya to keep watchin my back... Hmph! The brute like beast would nod before Arashi turned her back to him, releasing a breath before holding her usually toothy grin. "Alright then...lets kick his ass..." ---------------------- Tailed Beast Form v2 Returning back to the surface, Arashi would narrow her eyes as she held her hand out forward, her eyes closed before drawing into her chakra supply and mixing it into that of Shukaku. A burst of wind would begin to surround her presence, creating an aura of violet that began to consume her. As she continued to hold this, her eyes would open and flash a golden hue as she trained them upon the huntsman. The sand upon her body began to slow crawl across her flesh, revealing a golden tint as seal lines crossed the length of her frame before creating a chakra tail that was hardened over beneath the flaps of what looked to be cloak of sand that draped from her attire. Standing there, her chakra roaring and pushing the very foundation of the surrounding area, Arashi would keep her gaze focused on her attacker before summoning a wave of sand from her gourd, forming it into a silhouette of Shukaku as it hovered over her. "I am Oonakayama Arashi...and I AM THE ONE TAILS!" SPOILER: Click to show -S.A Used- Ultimate Defense A Skill granted by her continued use and developed relationship with Shukaku over the continued use of his control over sand, Arashi has a stronger connection to the element, allowing her to use it at a much more intensive rate than before. As such, her defenses are much more adapt and capable of taking on stronger attacks and reinforcing itself at faster speed. This adaptation to the sand shield allows for it's reaction time to have increased and make it more challenging for attacks to connect and break through the first layer, while acting still on the natural inclinations of auto-repairing itself for the next strike. Enhanced Smell Somehow, Arashi has gained an enhanced sense of smell. It appears that she’s been hanging around dogs for too long and has obtained a sense of smell that rivals that of a blood hound. In reality, she has simply discovered that by channeling some chakra to her nose she can enhance the cells within it and gain a super sense of smell that may act as a sensor and tracking technique. She can smell out strangers, steel and various other things. Arashi may retract her chakra from her nose as well to make her sense of smell return to normal. Due in most regards to her heavily enhanced sense of smell, With her continued usage of this ability, she has now become capable of near passively monitoring the exact range of a target and their positioning within 250 meters. (Able to turn "off and on" this enhanced sense at the 'prick' of chakra to her nose) Hunter's Instinct With her training from her mother, along with the lessons she learned from her time with the Saeko's Clan, Arashi adapted her tracking ability to a level similar to that of a sensory nin. As such, allowing her much more precision in her ability to find and keep on the heels of individual targets or groups through use of her enhanced sense of smell and ability to identify individuals and objects at long range. Ichibi Curse Seal The only ability Arashi has competent control over, this is the ability to utilize the curse seal marks over Shukaku’s body for her own bidding. Arashi can will the seals to cover her own body and control them to form various seals to preform fuuinjutsu from her own skin. As such, she can summon weapons she has sealed within them and rearrange the seals to be able to perform various fuuinjutsu that she has knowledge of without scrolls by using her own skin. She may also seal items within the curse marks and rearrange them to perform an unrelated technique before reforming them to summon the item at a later date. [Version 2] Though this form is most notable as the final step before full control is taken by Shukaku, the time spent between the two, along with Arashi's further knowledge in the usage of the One Tailed Beast, as made this her most powerful form when unleashed onto the field. While still operating on instincts, she is retains control over her thoughts and is capable of human speech and her mental state is not outside of reason to the point of murderous intent, rather it is in coordination with that of Shukaku as the two are now closer with their mental link. This mode, within control, is not monstrous as it once was without it. In stead, Arashi form maintains it's natural appearance, but the hue of her eyes are now in a permanent state of a golden hue, her iris now matching those of Shukaku's. Her flesh takes on a paler complexion to match that of the Sand Demon, and the summoning lines once hidden upon her skin are exposed as they traverse body and show a connection to the seal placed upon her back. The final clear indication of change is her chakra, while still purple, seems to take on a darker hue and can be felt as the pressure of the area seems to shift and her movements have much more impact due to her connection to the element of the wind, as well as the sand covered chakra tail that is bulbous in shape and size, and harder than diamond while being capable of both offensive and defensive measures. Along with this, Arashi's abilities in Sand Control, Fuuton Ninjutsu and Fuuinijutsu are incredibly enhanced, making her all the more dangerous on the field of battle. With her Strength and Speed also increased, her Sand Defense and Armor become more reactive and hardened when Arashi is under attack, acting instinctively and without need for summoning through Arashi's own will. In this state, Arashi is one if not the most dangerous force out of Sunagakure no Sato, but this comes at a price. The extended period of time in within this state puts a heavy strain due to the limited number of tails Arashi has, and the border that keeps Shukaku at bay. When she accesses this mode, it weakens the Seal upon Arashi to allow for more chakra to be released. This becomes a dangerous situation as if too much strain is placed upon it, it can quickly place Arashi into her full release state and into a deep slumber.
