It was one week after the girl had left Iwagakure to return back to the sage compound in order to resume her practice, however something was amiss for the past few days Fudo had been absent much to Taki’s confusion he was almost always around but if he’d left the compound it must’ve been for something important.

And as the night fell Taki would finish making her food on the spit and then head away for the night but as the young girl but after waking from her slumbered the next morning, she’d hear the echo of a commotion at the entrance.

After properly getting herself dressed in the mirror in her leotard and duster she’d make her way to the entrance "Who could that be…?” the girl would wonder as she approached the gates, the girl would push them open with a large creaking sound only to find Fudo and a young man carrying a letter. "Fudo…?” the girl would state.

"What’s going on.” she’d look to the kid who was with the large white haired ape and eventually would start piecing everything together in her head. "Whose dis…” the ape would clear his throat. "A young man whom Miss Midori has left in your care.” Taki would look to the boy somewhat knowing that this would come. "Well come on in I guess...What’s your name kid…” the girl would say gesturing for him to follow her, inside he'd be met with a dense forest as they entered Fudo would follow behind.

It was a day that Asura had never actually believed would come. He had practically spent all his life in the orphanage, and even from a young age, he knew that his problems with his temper didn't exactly make him the most appealing to parents looking for children. The orphanage had tried relentlessly to pawn him off on those seeking and to keep his rage a secret, but it always ended up going the same way. He would either be so nervous and afraid of hurting them that he would go into a rage state on the spot, or he would go into one later when they brought him home. Sometimes, it was on the walk to their home.[break][break]Regardless, the point was that Asura had long given up on the hopes of being adopted into a family that would care for him. And while he was sure that the likelihood of that happening now was slim, he certainly didn't expect a large white ape that spoke to drop by and pick him up. It was even more bizarre that the orphanage staff was accepting it! ...or perhaps it wasn't, since he had been here for so long. He didn't have many belongings to pack, and he picked up the one bag and slung it over his shoulder. He did have a habit of keeping his belongings in there since his stays weren't usually for an extended period. He would regard the white-haired ape with a meek expression, and follow him silently, only speaking if spoken to by the ape first. The orphanage didn't take much time to say goodbye, wondering if this adoption would stick. He did go with the ape to the Tsuchikage's office briefly, being given a letter and a few words as he did his best to be polite. He only made eye contact with them once, not trusting any longer of an observation in case he got too nervous.[break][break]As he arrived at the sage compound, he would look around. He had no idea what this place was. As he walked along with Fudo, he saw a girl in the distance approaching them. She had blonde hair and a jacket. He looked at her only for a moment before averting his gaze, the usual shy manner of his on display. She asked Fudo what was going on, and who he was. When Fudo answered, he said that someone named Midori had left him in her care. So his guardian wasn't going to be Fudo or this Midori person, but the blonde girl? Being so close in age to her made him feel... slightly uncomfortable. But he kept his gaze on the floor and tried not to focus on it. He almost jumped when she invited him in, glancing at her briefly as she asked him for his name. "O-oh, it's... I'm Asura." His eyes wanted to return to the floor, but when he followed her through the entrance, he saw the thick woods around them and would look around at the trees briefly. He was quite brawny and had very mature features; he seemingly looked to be around the same age as Taki if not older. But when he spoke his words betrayed his features. "Asura…?” she’d say. "I think I know what’s going on here…come on in kid.” with that she’d invite him inside and Fudo would look to the two of them.

"Thanks Fudo, I think I can take it from ere…” the girl had a strange accent one that Asura might find to be somewhat familiar if he had made his way to the Okada compound or had ever seen one of their clans shows.

"So…I guess an introduction is in orda.” she’d say looking back at him. "My name is Taki Okada…Sage of Iwagakure.” the girl would say looking around at the area they’re in.

"Dis ere…is the gorilla sage compound where we live and learn from gorilla’s to master something called Senjutsu, ya ever heard o dat?” the girl would say as she turned back and looked at the kid to see if he was still paying attention.

Taki had only ever really taught her younger cousins but never really had an apprentice of her own so she had to make sure she was doing as good of a job as she could to hammer this information home.

He simply nodded to her when she confirmed that Asura was his name, and would divert his gaze respectfully. She gestured for him to come with her and he would follow her silently, considering everything she was saying. If he recognized her accent or who she was, he was quite skilled at concealing his reaction. Due to his condition and where he had spent his recent years, social events like the Okada shows and his knowledge of them or much else around the village was notably limited. Nevertheless, she introduced herself as Okada Taki, and Asura, the socially awkward youth he was, almost introduced himself again in turn. But he caught his words before they escaped his lips. She said that she was the sage of Iwagakure, but he didn't quite know what that was supposed to mean.[break][break]Then she explained that the area they were in was the gorilla sage compound and that they were to train in order to master something called senjutsu. From his brief periods in the academy, he remembered what taijutsu, genjutsu, and ninjutsu were, but he was by no means familiar. He noticed she was looking at him and pulled his eyes up to meet her gaze momentarily, shaking his head a bit in a gentle negative. The thick metal collar around his neck would glint in the light and shift with his movements. "Ah... no, Okada-sama. I don't... know what that is." His gaze fell once again. She may notice that he had immediately defaulted to an honorific reserved for superiors, another product of his upbringing.

As they kept going into the forest the boy would refer to her as Okada-sama which made her feel a tad uncomfortable. "Eyy you ain’t gotta call me dat…just cawl me Taki or Miss Taki if ya really gotta.” as the two kept going she’d think on his response and try and figure out a way to properly explain it. "So Senjutsu is a form of chakra that is abundant awl in naitcha…and it looks like Ms. Midori thinks I’m da one to teach ya.” the girl would say.

After a while the two of them would arrive at a series of small huts and the girl would scratch her head. "Shit…” she’d say looking to the empty spit roast. "So dhat letta can I see it?” the girl would ask, wanting to take a good long look at it to get a handle on what’s going on. "C’mon Midori I can barely use dis stuff myself and now you want me ta take on a student.” the girl would think to herself. "Where do I even start with this kid…?” the girl would wonder as she looked him over with concern.

"Well I hope ya like naticha…cause it’s what you’re gonna be lookin at for da next couple o weeks?” she’d say taking a good long look at him. She’d point to the hutt behind her. "Dis here is my hut…and dat one ova dere is yours.” and then point towards the one directly across from them, from a peek inside there was a small bed and a few other basic amenities like a desk a few sheets of paper for writing letters. "If’n your hungry…I was about ta go hunting for breakfast…after I read dis letter you mind?” her voice was somewhat casual maybe even a little disinterested she didn't find him to be a bother but it was certainly a situation she wasn't prepared for.

He listened to her recoil from the official title, but she offered up Taki or even Miss Taki. It was probably clear which he was going to default to if he was left the both of them. After a bit more walking she would explain that senjutsu was abundant nature chakra and that whoever this Midori person was wanted her to teach it to him. "So... I'm going to be learning senjutsu here? Am I... to become a shinobi?" A little nervousness began to set in, and a shard of green chakra would briefly spark off of his person before vanishing as quickly as it appeared. He took a few breaths, settling his mind and reassuring himself to not lose control. She asked him for the letter and he handed it to her respectfully, looking at her.[break][break]She said he should get used to seeing nature because he was going to be here for a few weeks. He noticed the huts when she pointed them out and looked over the area. This was easily the least sophisticated living he had ever been adopted into, but perhaps a bit surprisingly, he didn't seem worried about it. Something about the scenery seemed to leave him with a serene feeling. Which he thought was very good, considering the circumstances. She asked him if he wanted breakfast after she read the letter. He didn't have a lot of social experience, but he got the hint after a second. "Y-yes, Miss Taki. Thank you." He gave a quick, polite bow before going into his tent and putting his bag down. He sat down on the small bed and waited, starting to focus on keeping his breathing calm.

As the two kept walking she’d note that large burst of chakra that went unnoticed as he asked his question. "Yeah…I guess I’m gonna be da one to train ya.” she’d think still not fully sure where to start. "Also…don’t cawl me Miss Taki, I don’t like how dat sounds, just Taki’ll do.”

As she remained in her quarters a small chimp would make their way towards the window and would place his hands up against the glass to look inside, this was Aki Aki one of the sage animals the youngest of them in fact he looked over the boy with curiosity but after a moment another ape who was about his size would pull him down form his perch. "Eyy, leave em alone…how many times do I gotta tell ya…too…” as this happened the curious ape would be lectured by his more mature counter part with only hollers heard in response most notable not sounding like accurate speech and mostly just echoes of yelling.

But several minutes later, Taki would emerge from her tent having left the letter on her desk. Her room was about as cluttered as her mental state and with this kid it was bound to get a bit worse, but she was up to the challenge and was going to face it head on even if she wasn’t exactly ready.

After exiting from out of her room she’d make her way towards an old shed where all of the preserved meat was kept and would get a fire started on the spit before placing the meat over it to reheat it. After a moment she’d knock on Keru’s quarters. "Eyy Kid…foods ready.” she’d wait for a moment taking a seat at the spit taking the food off and handing it too him. "Next time we’ll try taking you hunting so you can get your feet wet on how ta survive out ere.” as the boy ate his food however she'd look over at him. "I spend about 3 weeks here each month and then spend one month back in da village. So I'll be helping ya get the basics down sound good?" she'd say looking to him a neutral expression on her face.

He did think, for a moment, that it would be nice if he could actually stay here. Maybe it was worth trying to keep it. But he also didn't want to hope for such a thing and then be wrong yet again. All he had to do was control himself. Then Taki peeked in to tell him that dinner was prepared. He nodded gently and followed her out to the spit, and when she handed him the food, he looked at it with some surprise for a moment. He hadn't eaten food like this for a long- no, actually, he had never eaten something like this. The food at the orphanage was certainly never something of this quality. He didn't even seem like he knew where to start with eating it, but once he caught a good whiff of the smell, instinct took over and he took a big bite, making a satisfied grunt at the flavor as he began tearing into the food eagerly. He glanced at her when she mentioned hunting, and he paused to ask her, "Hunting?" he repeated, before taking another bite. It was then that she mentioned that she only went back to the village one week every month. He perked up at this. "Does that mean... I will only be in the village for one week, too?" he asked. He seemed relieved at the prospect. Of course, that meant fewer people that he could hurt.

As she handed him the food he looked a little surprised like he’d never seen meat cooked this way. She wasn’t entirely too surprised he was an orphan after all. As they ate he’d ask about the hunting aspect. "Yes hunting…when you’re out ere ya gotta fend for yaself…and it’s a good way to help get ya accustomed to how things woik around ere.” she’d state taking a piece for herself and digging in, tearing the fish off the stick with a crunchy bite. She’d say giving him a serious expression to show that she wasn’t playing around, but not enough to make him feel intimidated hoping to make him understand that it was going to be hard but also rewarding. By all appearances he seemed like he was a quiet boy which was good, less of a headache for her to deal with especially given that this was going to be her first real student. "But as long as you do what I say and pay attention you’ll be alright.” Afterwards Taki would stand up to her feet and finish her meal before taking the stick, breaking it and chucking it back into nature.

"It’s still early morning so I bet you’re pretty tired. Go on and rest up…and I’ll show ya around once you get up.” the young girl would say as she turned to face him. "If you need me for anything don’t hesitate to knock on my door alright…” with that the girl would make her way back towards her room only stopping if he needed her for something.

Asura seemed immediately conflicted at the idea he would have to hunt an animal. "So, I'm going to have to... I'll have to..." He couldn't even finish the sentence. It was very clear that he had never done anything like that before, and he didn't know if he was ready to kill an animal, even if he did need to eat it. After a moment to look at her and confirm, he took another bite, though it was slower this time. He was still hungry, and this was delicious, but it was something that was going to require more deliberation for him. She added that this life wasn't going to be easy and that she wanted him to be ready to work. Work was nothing strange to him, he did plenty of chores at the orphanage. But he did worry about whether he could actually do what she instructed him to do if it came to hurting an animal.[break][break]With these thoughts and her serious expression, she was worrying him. Another vibrant shard of chakra erupted from him briefly, but he was doing well to control himself thus far. He nodded to her and said, "Y-yes, Taki..." Soon their breakfast was over and after seeing what she did with the stick, Asura would do the same thing she did, watching her meekly. "Okay." Asura nodded slightly as she turned to walk away and returned to his tent, focusing on his meditation. The next couple of months were certainly going to be interesting.
