The blood in her mouth tasted metallic, thick and heavy on her tongue; all her mindless fury, though, was left unsatisfied, as the flesh and blood of Kyoka-sensei melted away into a pool of water and twisted away from Risa’s assault. She stood there, drenched in sweat and heaving, her brow pinched and her ears ringing. Doesn’t it feel good?! Kyouka-sensei said, satisfied. Maybe… maybe even proud. Did it feel good? She had done as she was told, attacked with all her might, and it felt good to be praised, to be told that she was good, especially coming from the same woman who had told her that she sucked, that she was dumb, that she was a crybaby and a brat. She wanted so badly for Kyoka-sensei to be proud of her. Did it feel good? Risa didn’t know. She held her aching jaw, blood still welling up in her mouth, stunned into silence. She felt unsure, and out of control, and scared. She felt strong. "I’m going to be great,” she said softly, frowning at Kyoka-sensei. "I am.” Their training was done, and Risa had a lot to consider.
