IDEOLOGY
The Pavo of the Jade Valley are one of the most, if not the most, politically convoluted groups in the shinobi world. To an outsider, their methods and traditions are as superfluous as the birds themselves, and to say that they thrive in this sort of environment is an understatement - they can no longer exist without it. To them, a simple conversation between humans is unthinkable, because even a spoken word accompanied by a simple gesture has a thousand meanings and implications for the Pavo.

Life in the Jade Valley is one of class struggle and political maneuvering. Society is dominated by the White River Pavo, who despite being somewhat smaller than their Jade Valley counterparts, possess a vastly more refined and capable intellect. The bulkier, brutish-by-comparison, Jade Valley Pavo do not posses the necessary mental ability to navigate the complex political structure set down by the White River Pavo, and thus are considered second-class; Alas, they have almost no chance of changing that status.

It is uncommon for the White River Pavo to deal with humans. Those like the Great Masters, and to an even greater extent, Lord Shin himself, outright refuse to deal with humans or even other sentient species that they do not deem worthy. Instead, "dignitaries", or those who have been maneuvered to the bottom and thus are considered failures by their peers, are sent on their behalf along with the Jade Valley Pavo who share much more with others than their own kin.

Society among the Pavo, especially the White River Pavo, is dominated by the patriarchy. The Jade Valley Pavo have less divide between the sexes, but it still exists. Likely influenced by their overlords.

For those who have difficulty telling the two apart, their crests are distinctly different. The White River Pavo (based on the Indonesian Peafowl) has a crest of long, full feathers that clump together or fan out like their tails. On the other hand, the Jade Valley Pavo (based on the Indian Peafowl), have a crest that appears to be tiny, brightly colored feathers on longer stems.

White River Pavo
To be on the top is everything. Unfortunately, Lord Shin has been there as long as anyone can remember, and the other elites are just as heavily entrenched. Their arrogance is so great some speculate that if it were any greater it could be used in place of even the most potent defensive ninjutsu techniques, but unfortunately for these hauty birds, they must still rely upon normal means to defend themselves.

They are arrogant, and arrogant is not viewed negatively. They know who has earned what they have, any were someone not to boast about their acclaim and great feats then they would rouse suspicion and likely prying eyes. Those who do not fan their own feathers, so to speak, are assuredly hiding something.

They are devious and diligent. When your life revolves around crushing your peers in a political landscape, you learn how to wield even the smallest failure like an executioner's blade, and similarly learn to defend yourself against the same. To take on the White River Pavo in a political gambit would be true folly, but unlikely to occur as they view most others so far beneath them that they would not give them the time of day.

These fowl possess a twisted sort of honor. No obligation goes unfulfilled. No promise left open. If there is something that can potentially be used against them in the future, they will resolve it as if they were among the most honorable of individuals. Sadly, it is, with most other parts of their lives, entirely self-serving.

Jade Valley Pavo
The Pavo of the Jade Valley may look a lot like their White River overlords, but they are as different as night and day. Though some influence has trickled down and warped the more sensible Pavo, they have none of the political inclination that the others do. Perhaps the class divide keeps them down, or perhaps it is that they lack the cognitive ability to follow the intricacies laid out by their White River counterparts, but whatever the reason, they are seen as the more "normal" of the two.

These birds are stalwart individuals. They are hardy folk, built strong for labor and war, and they appreciate those who work hard for what they have. They do not appreciate taking from others like the White River Pavo do, but encourage each to make their own way and carve out their own success in the valley.

Dutiful to a fault, the Jade Valley Pavo hold obligation dear. It is rarely left to the individual to follow through on such things, and often the entire village or family will contribute. There are instances where one who held and obligation passed and the obligation was taken up by others, even those who had nothing to do with the original issue. Unfortunately, this strong sense of duty has helped keep them under the thumb of the White River Pavo.

Where the White River are individualistic, the Jade Valley Pavo are highly communal. What they do they do to the benefit of as many as they can. Even when they become part of the Jade Valley military they tend to stick together, creating potent fighting forces known as the Jade Valley Guards. The strong sense of community and willingness to work together is likely the primary reason they have survived the oppressive social strata constructed in the valley, because they look out for each other, and when one falters they prop them up together.

Martial Arts
One thing that brings the two Pavo groups together is martial arts. The dedication and discipline needed to master the most complicated martial arts is deeply engrained within both species. They may pursue their goals for different reasons, but in the end, some of the more promising and potent martial arts styles have been influenced by the Pavo.

They tend to be generalists, capable of a great many feats. Like the Murahira shinobi clan they have bonded with, they have a heavy emphasis on bukijutsu and genjutsu, but also fuuton-based ninjutsu.

Weapons are particularly common. The Pavo are known for cladding their feet and talons in segmented steel boots with razor sharp blades even more dangerous than their natural ones called Storm Talons. With these claws, they can rend the flesh of most other beings with ease, but also defend against other weapons. While they can be designed with silent movement in mind, many of the White River Pavo deliberately make them clank loudly like rider's spurs when they walk or run.

Though they may not look like they'd be able to wield tools or weapons, the feathers of the Pavo, at least towards the ends of their wings, are not entirely different than fingers found on primates. Somewhat less dexterous, and thus not always suitable for swift hand seals, they can hold the handle of weapon well enough.

Most Pavo wield throwing knives, or kunai. The White River Pavo fashion theirs like their own feathers, thereby being able to easily conceal them. The Jady Valley Pavo do not have the same proclivities and utilize simple items like the shinobi.

The most distinct weapon, perhaps unique to the Pavo, is their specific glaive. Featuring a longer handle like a polearm, thereby giving versatile wielding options, it was topped with a nearly meter long, wavey blade. There are some shorter, smaller versions like a traditional sword, but they are used much more infrequently.

While the Pavo are generally larger than the average human, with White River Pavo standing between six and seven feet tall, and the Jade Valley often reaching eight feet, and occasionally more, they are more fragile and prone to damage due to their hollow bones and thinner limbs. Therefore, their fighting style revolves around agility, with spins being incredibly common. This allows them to use their incredible tail fans to sweep legs out from beneath their opponents, if not outright break bones, or to impede vision by fanning their feathers.

Due to being birds, the Pavo can fly, but generally only across short distances, or they will prefer to glide. Despite being able to take flight, the Pavo are prolific sprints and are incredibly swift. Because of these features, they do not often wear armor.

Members of the Jade Valley Guard have been known to serve as mounts of their shinobi comrades on occasion. White River Pavo would rather be plucked of all their feathers than subject themselves to such indignity.

HIERARCHY
The hierarchy of the Pavo is quite simple. Lord Shin is in charge. None would dare oppose his will. Were two Pavo summoned to the field and one was Lord Shin and the other was anyone else, and they were expected to fight, Lord Shin would win as the other would surrender immediately. None dare question this fact.

Beneath Lord Shin are the great Masters, Sima and Shu, who possess incredible skills and wisdom, and have stood near the top almost as long as Lord Shin.

After that... there are hundreds of social ranks, thousands of titles, and then a multitude of meaningful and meaningless postings and positions. These things change so frequently that keeping track of it is difficult at best, but more likely to be impossible. Titles are created and handed out for the most obscure and trivial things, and revoked just as frequently. Half of what one Pavo introduces their self as will be irrelevant, petty things with no substance, and the other half is likely blown well out of proportion and made to seem far more important than it is.

The military is the only place with a somewhat more strict hierarchy. Commander Jin has held the position as the top military official for over a decade, and doesn't seem likely to lose it at this point.

The White River Pavo make the up the White River Veterans, elite individualistic fighters that take on the enemy by themselves more often than not. Their lower counterparts, the Jade Valley Guards, take advantage of their tight unity to take on whatever threats come their way.

Within each branch of the small military one will find a hierarchy of ranks branching downward like a tree. It is significantly less convoluted than the generic political structure, as clarity is far more necessary on the battlefield.

The Call to Aid
Summoning Lord Shin would be flat out ignored in all but the most extreme cases. The leader of the Murahira, as well as any of the other three major postings would likely be answered so long as they've held the position for a respectable duration. It would be possible for an extremely accomplished jounin to summon Lord Shin. Anything less would be insufficient.

The Great Masters are a little less picky than their boss. They will answer the summoning of any major Murahira position without much issue. Likewise, a jounin level shinobi would be able to summon one without too much trouble so long as they had held that rank for at least a little while. Someone with lower standing would struggle to summon one without some serious accomplishments and noteworthy feats under their belt.

Commander Jin is not that picky. Summoning him for a trivial reason would be enough that he'd admonish the summoner and disband himself, but calling him to battle is what he lives for.

The White River Veterans are much like their commander. Summon them to fight, and they will fight. Anything less will cause them to become upset. They may very well refuse the next attempt to summon them if this happens too often.

Unlike the others, the Jade Valley Guards need not be summoned for anything in particular. They are often happy to assist with whatever the summoner deems necessary and worth their time before going on their way. However, abusing them is likely to spread among the ranks and they will rather quickly shun someone.

Anyone under the Jade Valley Aspirants is not important enough to decline the call for aid. They will show up without question. However, abuse of the Pavo, even the lowliest of them, can make rumors spread and they will retaliate. Lord Shin may not view them as even remotely close to his equal, but abusing his underlings is an insult to him.

Do not insult Lord Shin!

HISTORY
Well before Kumogakure was formed, and even before the Land of Lightning was anything of note, the Jade Valley thrived. Located in the Blue Mountains north Sancho, the Jade Valley was close enough for trade, but inconvenient enough to reach that it was not consequential to human colonization and expansion.

Thanks to the White River that carved out the valley, the Pavo that lived there were able to grow plenty of rice and other foods in the lowlands. Likewise, the Jade Valley was not called Jade merely because it was a vibrant green, but because there were substantial jade deposits, as well as other valuable materials in the mountains.

This made them relevant.

It wasn't until later that the Pavo really began to interact with humans. The most noteworthy among them, at least for the Pavo, were the Murahira. As assassins, they could easily serve as spies and saboteurs, and this made them particularly useful in the political landscape of the Jade Valley. In exchange for their services, the two groups formed a cooperative reltionship and when Kumogakure was formed and the Murahira settled down, this relationship evolved into a full-fledged contract.

Though they have kept to themselves more often than not, the Pavo have made numerous appearances where the Murahira became relevant. This included times during the shinobi wars where members of the White River Veterans and Jade Valley Guards fought side-by-side with the Murahira clan, and they were also quite helpful during the great plague.

As an avian species, and far removed from human biology, the plague that devastated the land was no issue for the Pavo. They were frequently summoned during this time to assist the Murahira and their allies and contributed greatly to the Murahira coming out the other side of the plague with fewer losses than most.

Lord Shin, the leader of the Pavo, has been in charge for over a century. No other individual, save the Great Masters, Sima and Shu, have come close to maintaining such a steady position in the social strata. His leadership skills may be well-refined, but they aren't always the best when it comes to helping all who live in the Jade Valley. Unfortunately for those who do not benefit from his leadership, Lord Shin is likely to be around for quite some time yet.

THE VENERABLE LORD SHIN

NAME: Shin; preferably Shin-sama ("Lord Shin")
ELEMENT: Fuuton, Katon
TYPE: Peafowl
SPECS: Generalist
RANK: S

APPEARANCE:
Lord Shin is a very distinct White River Pavo due to his leucistic appearance. Unlike the majority of his peers, Shin is primarily white as much of his plumage lacks pigmentation that would normally give the Pavo their bright, varied colorations. However, his eyespots are a mix of black and red, so he is not entirely without color as a Pavo with albinism would be.

He is on the larger end of the size spectrum for his species, and despite having lived an exceptionally long life, he does not show any semblance of senility or infirmness. In fact, Lord Shin tends to appear middle-aged, rather than elderly.

Like the rest of his kind, he does not wear armor, but when engaged in combat he does wear storm talons. Instead of armor, he wears an off-white, or slightly grayed robe with the Jade Valley's crest upon his back.

As with many White River Pavo, Lord Shin makes extensive use of throwing knives, each of which are shaped like his feathers making it incredibly easy for him to conceal upon his person.

He is regarded as a master of the glaive, and will wield one in combat when necessary.

PERSONALITY:
Lord Shin is the embodiment of the White River Pavo. He is arrogant, callous, haughty, and occasionally a bit cruel. Shin has very few redeeming qualities, and is not one to be considered 'a good person'. If there is anything to be said about him it is that he is a great leader, perhaps even excellent. His distaste for niceties make him particularly efficient, and his rule over the Jade Valley has been one that faced very little contention because his focus is on what is best, not what is comfortable for everyone.

Interacting with Lord Shin is to always be the lesser of two individuals. He will always look down on someone, they are always his inferior. In the conversation he is king, and all others are servants. Some are treated better than others, but they are not equals, and he does not allow anyone to think they are.

ABILITIES:
The Eyes of God | Lingering Genjutsu
Lord Shin is a masterful generalist, but one field he seems to excel at is Genjutsu. He does not use hand seals to utilize genjutsu, but applies it via visual trigger through the eyespots on his tail. Fanning his train out, especially quite rapidly, will frequently draw the eyes of an opponent, and those who view it will be subjected to whatever genjutsu Lord Shin is using. To make matters worse, Lord Shin is able to establish genjutsu that will activate one after another, but must apply each individually.

Adamantine Plumage | Chakra-enhanced Feathers
Lord Shin may not wear armor, but he is not without defense. By channeling chakra through his feathers, he hardens them to an incredible degree. Able to block steel weapons as if it were a shield of steel, his train of feathers becomes a powerful barrier. Though typically a defensive tool, a spin or sweep with his feathers turns them into a dangerous weapon. A spin with a closed tail enhanced by his chakra could easily shatter the leg of a typical human.

Masterful Control | Enhanced Chakra Control
To become great, one must be great, and be able to display that greatness. Lord Shin has mastered the control of chakra. Few Pavo, perhaps only the Great Masters, come close to his singular capability. His wielding of chakra is incredibly precise, rivaling that of the best shinobi.

Venerable Master | Bukijutsu Mastery
The Pavo prize martial arts, and in his long life Lord Shin has mastered the Pavo martial arts. He is a capable bukijutsuist, capable of taking on numerous foes simultaneously, even going toe-to-toe with some of the most skills shinobi bukijutsuists.

JUTSU & TACTICS:
Lord Shin is a devious fighter. He does not fight in any way that someone would consider "honorable". His only objective is victory and the destruction of his enemies, and he'll go to whatever length necessary to achieve that.

His signature combination is to use Evoke Terror with a lingering version of Affairs After One's Death. While Evoke Terror is designed to tap into whatever fears the target might be feeling at the moment and overwhelm them with terror, it is not always successful. The lingering sub-jutsu causes a target to believe they have defeated or harmed Lord Shin, thereby opening them up to an unexpected attack.

When pressed too much, Lord Shin will use Typhoon Blades, a high-damage, high-cost fuuton-enhanced bukijutsu that unleashes a number of powerful feather-shaped kunai all around or in a specific direction. Oftentimes, this is sufficient to eliminate most foes as it is quick and difficult to avoid.

Though uncommon to find a foe capable of pushing Lord Shin to his limits, if he does face someone more difficult, he will utilize Typhoon Warrior to enhance his physical agility and make it dangerous to get too close to him. With Typhoon Warrior active, Lord Shin will steadily lose Chakra, so he will only use it when, and as long, as necessary. It does, however, make him even more threatening.

Adamant Tail is Lord Shin's bread-and-butter. It is not very taxing for him to use and maintain, but makes his feathers into powerful offensive and defensive tools. A sweep of his tail can shatter a human's leg with little difficulty, and impede many attacks, especially those from weapons.

He is a skilled fighter, and highly mobile. Fighting him one-on-one is often no easier than fighting him with several allies as he is able to masterfully control a battlefield and the flow of combat. If Lord Shin answers the call to battle, his foes had best be prepared.

LORD SHIN'S PERSONAL JUTSU

NAME: Sasou Ki Kyofu [Evoke Terror]

RANK: A

CHAKRA USAGE: High

CLASSIFICATION: Genjutsu

ELEMENT: N/A

HANDSEALS: None

TRIGGER: Visual; Lord Shin fans his train, seeing it is enough to subject someone to the genjutsu

REQUIREMENT: Pavo (Peafowl)

DESCRIPTION:
This genjutsu, a favorite of Lord Shin, injects his chakra into the target via visual stimulus. If the target falls under the effect of the genjtsu, it stimulates the most relevant fear the target has at that moment to the maximum. In many cases, those engaged in battle against Lord Shin fear defeat, and will experience an illusion of defeat. Others may dwell upon something else, and on occasion, they may not have any fears at all - or perhaps have something so irrelevant that the technique causes minimal disruption. As Lord Shin has no control over what the target might feel, the results can be eratic, but when it works, it can be devastating.

NAME: Taifu no Ha [Typhoon Blades]

RANK: A

CHAKRA USAGE: Medium

CLASSIFICATION: Bukijutsu

ELEMENT: Fuuton

HANDSEALS: Seven

REQUIREMENT: None

DESCRIPTION:
The Pavo sheathes their kunai in wind chakra and unleashes them upon their target(s).

Typhoon Blades can be used during a quick spin to fan numerous blades in all directions, hitting many targets or causing area denial in combat, or it can be fired all in one direction at a singular target or cluster of foes.

The wind-enhanced Kunai can shatter stones and bust through sturdy oak trees; even if they do not directly hit a target, the wind chakra creates a small aura around each kunai that can slice and dice whatever gets within a few inches. A fleshy body doesn't stand much chance.

NAME: Taifu Senshi [Typhoon Warrior]

RANK: B

CHAKRA USAGE: Medium, Very Low Sustain

CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu

ELEMENT: Fuuton

HANDSEALS: Six

REQUIREMENT: None

DESCRIPTION:
Typhoon Warrior wreathes the body in wind chakra. Generally, this would be less useful to most, but as Lord Shin consists primarily of feathers, he can use this wind to move himself. This technique, while sustained, allows Lord Shin to move far faster than he typically could, and also maneuver in slightly abnormal ways.

Though not particularly potent, the wind chakra can cause damage and slice up a foe if they get within a few inches. Clothes are of no use in protecting against it, but a typical shinobi flak jacket provides enough protection to stop Typhoon Warrior from injuring the wearer - at least where it covers.

NAME: Danko To Shi Ta O [Adamant Tail]

RANK: C

CHAKRA USAGE: Low, Very Low Sustain

CLASSIFICATION: Taijutsu

ELEMENT: N/A

HANDSEALS: None

REQUIREMENT: Pavo Train/Tail

DESCRIPTION:
Lord Shin's chakra flows through his feathers, greatly enhancing them. They become as strong as steel, but lack the extra weight.

When his train is furled, it can be used as a powerful weapon, bludgeoning foes during sweeps and spins.

When fanned out, Lord Shin's feathers become a strong barrier, or could still clobber someone. If used to attack, it's harder to avoid due to the overall coverage, but packs less of a punch than if all the feathers are concentrated together.

THE GREAT MASTERS

NAME: Sima; Master Sima
ELEMENT: Fuuton
TYPE: Peafowl
SPECS: Bukijutsu Sole
RANK: A Rank

APPEARANCE:
Master Sima is an aged and wizened White River Pavo, but is a little bit larger than most of his peers. For most outside observers he would not be particularly distinct. His coloration is shown in the imagery below:

PERSONALITY:
Master Sima embodies many of the typical traits of the Pavo: Arrogant, Haughty, Vindictive, and obsessively political. However, Master Sima is significantly more lenient in the way he treats outsiders than many of the other White River Pavo. He is more cooperative, at least to a degree, and generally more receptive to conversation and granting assistance.

As he graduated from the Jade Valley military, particularly the White River Veterans, he is no stranger to battle, and can even be said to relish a fight. Summoning him to battle is a bit easier than others, and he will generally cooperate far more - though he has a tendency to put himself at the top of the chain of command without hesitation.

ABILITIES:
Preeminent Martial Artist | Bukijutsu Master
Master Sima is, without dispute, the greatest martial artist in the Jade Valley, even exceeding the skills of Lord Shin, albeit only in the field of Bukijutsu. His skills should not be underestimated. Master Sima's techniques are often more impressive than they would be in the hands of others.

White River Veteran | Experienced Combatant
Master Sima has worked his way up from the bottom, and has seen plenty of time on the battlefield. When fighting another foe in close quarters, with Bukijutsu or Taijutsu, it is likely that Master Sima will be able to predict actions, and therefore improve his chances of successfully defending and attacking.

Great Master | Chakra Control
Master Sima, as a Great Master, is exceptional with his control and mastery over chakra.

JUTSU & TACTICS:
Master Sima is an aggressive fighter. Quick and light on his feet, he is fleet and agile, featuring a spinning, dance-like style of fighting that can overwhelm multiple opponents at once. Some of his finesse and tempered aggression is shown through his use of Multiplying Thrust, used to corner and defeat even the strongest of foes.

When engaged and outnumbered, as many White River Veterans will be, Master Sima will turn to One Sword Style: Tornado, and utilize fuuton to blow his foes and incoming attacks away and give himself some respite, or damage multiple targets. He will also turn fuuton against his foes with Like the Wind, and assail them with kunai enhanced with wind chakra.

While he is known to wield one of the Jade Valley's noteworthy and distinctive glaives, Master Sima makes more use of the storm talon than most. Though he may not look it, Master Sima has incredibly powerful legs and talons. Strong muscles and tendons make deft use of Claw Break to to destroy or wrench a weapon free from a foe's grasp with the storm talon. Similarly, Strong Claw can rip an unprotected target to shreds.

NAME: Shu; Master Shu
ELEMENT: Fuuton
TYPE: Peafowl
SPECS: Genjutsu Sole

APPEARANCE:
Master Shu is among the eldest of the White River Pavo, and is noticeably smaller than most. He is known for dressing gaudier than others, and will frequently wear layered robes that are more cumbersome and restricting than those others might wear. His coloration can be seen in the image below:

PERSONALITY:
Master Shu expresses deviousness and cruelty to an extent that the majority of Pavo do not stoop, and it is likely why he is where he is today. Beyond merely ambitious and arrogant, he will crush his political foes with as much impunity as his wartime foes.

When summoning Master Shu, it is best to prepare a gift - a tribute. If one does not exist, he may leave immediately. If he is generous enough to stay and is still not given proper tribute, he will tend to hold it against the summoner for quite some time.

Be wary of his greed!

ABILITIES:
Master Genjutsuist | Layered Genjutsu
Master Shu is the preeminent master of the Genjutsu in the Jade Valley, thus having earned the title of Great Master. He has become proficient in the subtle art of layering genjutsu, and will frequently bombard targets with multiple issues they must resolve before effectively fighting Shu.

Deft Maneuvers | Evasion Specialist
Master Shu is not known for fighting in close quarters. However, he is well-regarded for being able to avoid an opponent. His ability to evade can seem uncanny at times.

Great Master | Chakra Control
Master Shu, one of the Great Masters, is exceptional with his control over chakra.

JUTSU & TACTICS:
Master Shu is a genjutsu expert, and unlike many of his peers, shirks the use of most other things in favor of illusions.

Shu's approach generally revolves around turning a target against their self. Blood Itch is a fiendish technique that causes someone to feel unbearable itching, and generally results in them inflicting injuries by scratching their self.

With an incredible haughty attitude and boastful words, Master Shu often sets up the idea that he is impervious to harm, and then wields False Confidence to reinforce that thought and demoralize an enemy.

If a foe is particularly tricky, or mobile, Master Shu can make use of Dangerous Wire Battlefield and Fighting Confused to make maneuvering around the battlefield that much more difficult. With those active, Instant Strike often has more potency, and will leave them open to an actual attack.

THE WINGED WARRIORS

NAME: Jin; Commander Jin
ELEMENT: Fuuton
TYPE: Peafowl
SPECS: Generalist
RANK: B Rank

APPEARANCE:
Commander Jin is a middle-aged Pavo who is a little more noteworthy for his muted tones of browns, russet greens, and beiges as opposed to significantly brighter colors. Jin tends to wear heavier robes, and even some bits of armor which is uncommon among the White River Pavo.

His coloration can be seen below:

PERSONALITY:
Commander Jin is a strict military man who has forsaken many of the political drives that his peers are controlled by. Instead, he focuses upon the development of the Jade Valley's small military.

As far as White River Pavo go, he is among the most accommodating and accepting of summons. He tends to get along well with everyone, and has a well-known love of freshly brewed tea. Offering him such is a good way to earn his good graces.

ABILITIES:
Legendary Commander | Allied Boost
When summoned alongside White River Veterans or Jade Valley Guards, the lower ranks receive Commander Jin's guidance and are able to fight above their typical expected capabilities.

Weapon Master | Bukijutsu Specialist
Despite being a generalist, as part of the military, as well as the highest commander, Jin has practiced martial arts endlessly. He has excelled slightly in Bukijutsu when compared to other fields.

JUTSU & TACTICS:
Jin is a commander before a warrior, and thus will frequently use Shadow Clone Technique to spread himself around and make his commands more available to his underlings. However, he is also very capable of utilizing it in combat and will make ample use of it to fill any shortcomings he might otherwise have.

He makes extensive use of Leaping Drake to close the distance to any target that gets away from him or attempts to keep him at a distance. His skills with the glaive often show themselves once he engages in close quarters as he will follow up many attacks with a potent Pommel Strike to disable or hinder an opponent.

NAME: White River Veterans

APPEARANCE:
White River Veterans are men and women of the White River Pavo. They tend to be a little better equipped than their Jade Valley Guard counterparts, and will wear light, brightly colored armor. As they are numerous, their appearances vary widely.

PERSONALITY:
As there are numerous White River Veterans, they are varied in who they are. Most will stick to the typical White River Pavo personality quirks, but occasionally one or two will deviate.

Unlike the Jade Valley Guards, the White River Pavo are very individualistic and will seek out battle on their own once summoned. They can be quite aggressive about it and will seek glory and acclaim.

ABILITIES:
Individualist | Bukijutsu Specialist
The White Valley Veterans typically fight alone, and their fighting style promotes it over unity. They take up a lot of space when they fight, and then to be able to take on numerous foes at once because of it. They excel when fighting alone, and are particularly adept with bukijutsu.

Wardancers | Evasion Specialists
The style of the White Valley Veterans is all about movement, momentum, and evasion. They are incredibly agile fighters and will be constantly on the move and spinning to make ample use of their tails. They are, however, extremely good at avoiding enemy attacks, even when out numbered.

JUTSU & TACTICS:
The White River Veterans take advantage of mobility to keep their selves safe from harm, evading enemy attacks with practiced precision. However, when possible, they will use Mirror Blade to turn an opponent's attacks back at them. They will also make frequent use of Crumbling Star, occasionally in conjunction with Mirror Blade.

NAME: Jade Valley Guards

APPEARANCE:
The Jade Valley Guard are plentiful, and tend to make up over two-thirds of the Jade Valley military. They are larger than their White Valley peers, and are easily identified by outsiders due to their fan-like crests.

They are known to wear light armor like the White River Veterans, though less gaudy.

Jade Valley Guard common coloration, an example of Jade Valley Pavo crest:

PERSONALITY:
The Jade Valley Guard stick together through thick and thin, and quickly band with their summoners and other allies. Their communal nature makes them a potent fighting force as they are more adept at working information.

Unlike the other Pavo, the Jade Valley Guard will take on pretty much any task they are summoned for, and make exceptional aids in difficult situations that don't involve fighting enemies. However, they are not as smart, nor as cunning as the White Valley Pavo. They are simpler in the way they approach everything.

With their greater size and willingness to work with others, the Jade Valley Guard can serve as mounts for their summoners without complaint.

ABILITIES:
Together as One | Formation Fighters
When fighting in formation, or as a group, the Jade Valley Guard are stronger than they would normally be.

Swift-foot Mounts | Mount & Rider
Larger and stronger, the Jade Valley Guards can, and will, serve as mounts for their summoners. They are built for running, not necessarily over extremely great distances, but are far faster than many shinobi.

JUTSU & TACTICS:
When not fighting in a formation of sorts, the Jade Valley Guard utilize their speed to get in close and the maneuver out of harm's way. Shift gives them exceptional non-linear movement, and Bouncing Rabbit lets them close a gap with a target much easier and safer.
