They produce minimal heat, enough to be warm to the touch, but cannot cause harm. They do, however, produce a fair bit of light and are thereby useful for illumination. They can be controlled within ten meters of the user. NAME: Kitsunebi: Senchineru no Honō [Fox Fire: Sentinel Flames] RANK: E CHAKRA USAGE: Very Low CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu ELEMENT: Katon HANDSEALS: One REQUIREMENT: Fox Fire Katon Enhancement SA DESCRIPTION: This technique creates two tiny flames, about the size of an adult's thumb. These flames can be put anywhere up to four meters apart. Anything that passes between the flames causes the flames to flare up briefly before guttering out and disappearing. Cannot cause harm, but is a useful warning device.  NAME: Kitsunebi: Tenka [Fox Fire: Ignition] RANK: E CHAKRA USAGE: Very Low; Optional Very Low CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu ELEMENT: Katon HANDSEALS: One; Optional One REQUIREMENT: Fox Fire Katon Enhancement SA DESCRIPTION: A tremendously basic katon technique that creates a little flame in the palm of the hand or at the tip of a finger. It provides minimal heat and light, but can be used to start a fire such as a torch. campfire, or light a lantern. By putting extra chakra in, the user can cause the flame to "explode" and rapidly expand. It cannot cause harm, but sudden fire is usually enough to cause someone to pause or recoil.  NAME: Kitsunebi: Kumo ga Hajikeru Honō [Fox Fire: Cloud-bursting Flames] RANK: D CHAKRA USAGE: Low CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu ELEMENT: Katon HANDSEALS: Three REQUIREMENT: Fox Fire Katon Enhancement SA DESCRIPTION: The Murahira blows a large number of marble-sized blue fireballs into the air where they stay suspended for a short while. Upon activation, they explode into a bright, blinding light. They do not emit heat, and have no force to the explosion, thereby dealing no damage. They are particularly useful for interrupting people who rely exclusively upon their sight to fight.  NAME: Kitsunebi: Tenka Ha [Fox Fire: Ignition Blade] RANK: D CHAKRA USAGE: Low CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu ELEMENT: Katon HANDSEALS: Two REQUIREMENT: Fox Fire Katon Enhancement SA; One Kunai or Shuriken DESCRIPTION: The Murahira throws a shuriken or kunai infused with their katon chakra at a target. It can be difficult to determine visually whether or not the weapon is different than normal, but it does have a very faint blue tint to it. When the technique is triggered, the katon chakra explodes within the weapon and breaks it apart. It has minimal concussive force, and relies primarily upon searing metal shards to inflict damage. These are particularly dangerous if they manage to stick into a target before exploding.
