Kumogakure Training Grounds Kumogakure was the land hidden in the clouds.... It was well protected and aside from the events of the plague, she could not find any record of events that happened here to leave it as any less than a defensible position for those that lived here. The air was crisp, and far more thin than anywhere she had been. Considering her time here the last time had been short, she never truly experienced it like this as she had now. Still, even this was temporary... With permission to train here, the young woman wasted little time getting to the grounds as she allowed herself a moment to breath and relax herself. The journey to get here was almost a milestone in a sense, and she certainly felt much stronger than when she had left home. But of course, she knew that she could do more... Even those lingering shadows that seemed to wait in the dark were less apparent to her now, and at the very least she had peace of mind. Using her Sand to lift herself upon one of the many circular platforms, she'd set herself down upon it as she began to close her eyes and focus. Arashi had managed to come to terms with Shukaku, and they were indeed far more closer than they had ever been. But there was still something she was missing.... Opening her eyes partially, she'd look from one side to the next, allowing herself a moment to release a heavy breath before allowing the movement of wind to surround her, releasing a shower of sand from the surface of her gourd as she surrounded herself within a shell-like barrier. As the light around her began to fade as she enclosed herself off, the One Tails would remain within the darkness, closing herself off to it before focusing on control of her chakra. The extent of this control is due to the supply gathered within her gourd, granting the bonus of power, but limited to only the amount contained within it. (Able to turn "off and on" this enhanced sense at the 'prick' of chakra to her nose) -Jutsu Used- NAME: Suna no Tate [ Sand Shield] RANK: C CHAKRA USAGE: Medium CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu ELEMENT: Jiton DESCRIPTION: A rather simple yet powerful technique, the surrounds himself in sand, either in the form of a in shapeless form that is aimed to intercept incoming strikes or in a layered sphere of Iron Sand compressed to such an extent that it becomes as hard as stone. It is also capable of repairing surface damage by shifting the sand over a flaw in it's defense, making it an incredibly useful technique. There is one rather large flaw however, in that the user's visibility is completely null when inside the sphere of Sand. -Items Used- Sand Gourd -Familiar Used-

"In the midst of chaos..."

"You know..." Azarea drawled out squinting at the small circular dome of sand that surrounding one of the training posts, "I really don't remember that being there." She muses from where she lingered on the edge of the grounds as she lifted her travel mug to her lips taking a long slow sip of her steaming tea. Mornings were always a bit chilly in Kumo high among the peaks and though her fellow shinobi complained about the heat of summer Azarea still found the temperature cool when she had grown as a child up with the unending swelter of Hi no Kuni summers.

Glancing around to see if the technique had any visible owner outside of it's little bubble Azarea let out a low hum and began her stroll towards one of the far posts. If she had any hope of furthering her chakra control it would take practice and for once one of the nicer training grounds had been left open for the day. Hopefully whoever the guest was wouldn't mind sharing so long as she was polite and didn't bother the fellow shinobi overly much. After all one could only hope. As carefully channeling chakra to her feet the red head focuses on strolling up the large wooden poles until she finds herself perched at the top. The sun just beginning to crest the mountain peaks and flood the high valley of the village with it's golden light. The sight one Azarea would admit that even if she saw it a thousand times and ten she'd never grow sick of it.

Surrounded by the shell of sand, the young princess would begin to allow small sections of it and pixelate into dust. As each crack came, small bits of light began to peer into it as more and more of itself splintered away from the others. As they began to shape themselves into various shapes and sizes, their forms began to swirl over head in a mixture of items that were shifting forms by each passing second. Before long, a large creature seemed to fuse from all of them, crafting into an almost shadow like being as it loomed over Arashi before shrinking down back into the gourd in which all of it had originated. Releasing a heavy breath, the Suna nin would then allow one eye to open as she noted the red haired female that seemed to be at one of the posts close by. With her expression blank, she'd then rise up to her feet before brushing the short strands of hair from her face. There was some mild concern of her identity being revealed with what she'd just done, but with the extent of her journey to come this far proving time and time again that such things hardly mattered, the female would just close her eyes before summoning the sand outward again, this time allow it to produce would would be a small blade that latched beneath the underside of her wrist. "Meh...not like anyone would believe em anyway..." That thought aside, she'd soon turn fully as she shouted upward in their direction. With her chakra having died down, her form once again normal and less ingrained with her natural element, she'd appear safe enough at the very least for conversation. "Yo! While still operating on instincts, she is retains control over her thoughts and is capable of human speech and her mental state is not outside of reason to the point of murderous intent, rather it is in coordination with that of Shukaku as the two are now closer with their mental link. This mode, within control, is not monstrous as it once was without it. In stead, Arashi form maintains it's natural appearance, but the hue of her eyes are now in a permanent state of a golden hue, her iris now matching those of Shukaku's. Her flesh takes on a paler complexion to match that of the Sand Demon, and the summoning lines once hidden upon her skin are exposed as they traverse body and show a connection to the seal placed upon her back. The final clear indication of change is her chakra, while still purple, seems to take on a darker hue and can be felt as the pressure of the area seems to shift and her movements have much more impact due to her connection to the element of the wind, as well as the sand covered chakra tail that is bulbous in shape and size, and harder than diamond while being capable of both offensive and defensive measures. Along with this, Arashi's abilities in Sand Control, Fuuton Ninjutsu and Fuuinijutsu are incredibly enhanced, making her all the more dangerous on the field of battle. With her Strength and Speed also increased, her Sand Defense and Armor become more reactive and hardened when Arashi is under attack, acting instinctively and without need for summoning through Arashi's own will. In this state, Arashi is one if not the most dangerous force out of Sunagakure no Sato, but this comes at a price. The extended period of time in within this state puts a heavy strain due to the limited number of tails Arashi has, and the border that keeps Shukaku at bay. When she accesses this mode, it weakens the Seal upon Arashi to allow for more chakra to be released. This becomes a dangerous situation as if too much strain is placed upon it, it can quickly place Arashi into her full release state and into a deep slumber. These constructs are made of hardened minerals, capable of taking and dealing considerable damage. The instant creation of these constructs can happen in that of a split second, though the size of these creations slows down their development, along with their regulated weight class, such as the difference between a war-hammer and that of a broad sword. Yet, these can be no bigger than the actual size of their physical design. They can be reshaped though in mid-combat, adjusting to the change in situation. NAME: Sunano-Bureedo [ Sand Blade] RANK: D CHAKRA USAGE: Very Low CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu ELEMENT: Jiton DESCRIPTION: By manipulating chakra enhanced sand, the user create a dagger-length blade from their fingertips. Effective at cutting through must fabrics it is best used to pierce soft targets or unprotected areas. -Items Used- Sand Gourd -Familiar Used-

"In the midst of chaos..."

The Kumo-nin will glance down. Occasionally allowing her gaze to sweep over the shifting sand as it swirled and danced about the orb. Bits of it slowly flaking away to add to the various shadows of creatures or objects she could barely glimpse through the cracks. 'Wasn't there some clan in Suna that could control sand?' She pondered the thought niggling in the back of her mind, but that village had long been an ally of an ally so this individual was one to observe, but not one of concern. The woman allowing her gaze to flit back towards the slowly creeping sunlight as it spilled down the mountain side. Allowing her breath to slow and even as she worked on circulating her chakra. Attempting to reach a state of meditative zen while still awake to allow her to work on better controlling her stores.

At least until the voice of her training companion startled her out of her musing. 'Ah, there's the Suna headband,' Azarea thought catching the glint of metal as she glances down with a polite friendly smile perfect after long years working with the public from behind a desk.

"Another beautiful Kumogakure Sunrise. You should join me up here if you're interested. The training grounds always have the best views." The red head calls out glancing down her eyes a bright feral crimson that seem to contrary to her more placid expression as she gestures to one of the nearby poles.

"Not to be impolite, but I have to ask. I take it you're authorized to be here Sunakagure Shinobi-san?" She inquires with the weariness of someone who dislikes the rote and routine of decorum, but understands the importance of crossing ones t's and dotting the i's to keep a fire from being lit personally under their own butt for failing to inquire.

"Im Azarea by the way. I apologize for the late introduction." Azarea adds with an incline of her head and a rueful grin not wanting to reflect poorly on her village with bad manners.

"Naturally...though I'd guess if I didn't I would likely been kicked out by now..." In having reached her place, the heiress would look at the view for a moment, allowing herself to take it in as she sat herself down in a crouched position. It wasn't the first sunrise she had ever seen in her life, but she would be lying if she thought it didn't feel like it. There was something magnificent about seeing the world from such a high place. The line of sight with the sun just coming out from the clouds, the growing strength of it's light as it continued it's slow departure into the skies overhead. "I envy ya...not many views like this back home..." Watching the world begin anew, her gaze would turn toward Azarea as the woman introduced herself. With a nod, she began to do the same. "Arashi...and no worries...I wasn't exactly expecting to be meeting anyone either...funny how that happens..." "In the midst of chaos..."

The red head smiles at the sight of the permission slip a subtle tension easing from her shoulders as she chuckles and offers the woman an apologetic incline of her head, "That's good to hear. Sorry for asking, but I'd be strung up by my heals if I didn't follow at least basic protocol." She explains happy to have the rules and regulations out of the way as she glances back towards where the village has turned golden with the soft rays of first light filtering down through the clouds. The morning mists melting away as the dew evaporated from the grass and gave Kumo an ethereal appearance with a few of the more low hanging clouds rolling across the mountain tops like grazing sheep.

"It's nice to meet you Arashi-san and to be honest I didn't use to put a lot of stock in sunrises and sunsets, but they've grown on me." Azarea admits recalling how many she'd sat and watched beside Riku from the little window of their isolation room. When the then yet to be kage had been at his most frustrated sometimes they'd haul his bed as close to the window as they could manage and pretend like they were finally outside. Back then the village had been quiet, the streets near empty from the plague, but to see it so alive and bustling now filled her heart with a sense of love and belonging she'd never felt in the land of her birth.

"Still I wouldn't discount your own home. I've heard there's nothing in the world like the sight of a Suna night sky. It's my hope to see it some day." She adds settling down cross-legged on her own pole as the sun creeps it's way over the training grounds it's warmth washing over her skin and along with it a certain sense of zen. Her chakra and hive quietly humming in harmony with the world around her.

"If no one has said it to you yet already, welcome to Kumogakure no Sato Arashi-san. I hope your visit here is fruitful and pleasant. I'm not one of our most skilled shinobi, but if there's any training you would like assistance with today I would be happy to lend a hand." Azarea offers her words genuine and filled with a pure warmth that was rare even to her as she recalls how Riku had been the first to welcome her just the same.

"Good point...plus it's a lot cooler...I'm sure you'll love..." Nodding in the female's direction, the two would seem to have begun to get more into a rhythm of conversation, but it was still better than a dead silence. Of course, with them complimenting each other's homelands, it made for at least neither side feeling as if they were offending the other. In getting a welcome to the village, Arashi would hold a toothy grin before then waving her hand to the side as she shook her head. "Thanks....so far everyone's been more than welcoming....though it isn't my first time here...probably won't be the last..." Though the thought came of if there might be someway in which Azarea could be of assistance, which might not be by much in truth. Still, the offer was generous and it might be rude not to accept. "As to ya offer...I mean...I'm not sure if ya can but...I do need some help with getting through some barriers...." Holding up her hand, she'd outstretch it slightly as she looked toward it with a calm expression. "I'm workin some stuff out with my training and I'm almost right where I need to be...but there's still some stuff that I haven't scratched out just yet..." Pulling her arm back, she'd then run it through her hair as she shook it out. "It's complicated...but it's...it's like...how ya have fire under glass...ya want it to be controlled but it's losin the very thing that it needs to burn..." While their villages were friendly they weren't allies on paper just yet so she can understand the hesitance to give further details, but it sounded as though the other Kunoichi was struggling with control not unlike how she was. Though Azarea wouldn't of course realize how right and how very wrong she was in such regards. "Well... if it's physically barriers I can do my best to pit myself against them for you for practice though I'm not the most physically powerful." She admits humble enough to know her strengths and weaknesses.

"However if it's mental barriers I may be able to lend you a hand. I'm a genjutsu mistress by trade and I've found that one of the best way to practice your control is to feel how your chakra fluctuates while under an illusion and how your mind twists against itself. "Ah it's maybe less a title and more an identifying noun. Like 'Taijutsu specialist' or 'Sage.' I forget sometimes that's not what we're called in Kumo or places where it's a more common specialty." "Well I do have some nastier techniques up my sleeve, but I usually don't employ them on friendly shinobi given the realism of a few of them." Azarea explains with a lopsided sided grin and a shake of her head. "If you'd like to explore those however I'd need your explicit consent given the one I'm known best for involves poison. Nothing that will kill you, but I wouldn't be Riku's student if I couldn't make my enemies wish they were dead." She admits leaning back on where she was perched on her post allowing her legs to swing freely in the open air.

"As for the cave training grounds sure. They're a bit of a hike from here, but quite spacious. Kumogakure no Sato is of course the village as you see it here, but as you notice a lot of our older houses and districts are built directly into the mountains and our training grounds are incredibly expansive." She explains thinking on the most massive of the lot known as The Rift, but on paper more commonly referred to as Training Ground Forty-Nine. Kumo hadn't hosted an exam in years, but rumors had it the last one had collected an impressive death toll.

"I can show you the one we use for stalagmite hopping if you'd like? What are the training grounds in Suna like?" Azarea inquires with a tilt of her head as the woman funneled chakra to her feet and lower legs and began to walk down the side of the pole. That particular training ground could never be reserved and thus was generally open to any shinobi including guests if she remembered. So there was no harm in showing it to Arashi.

As she continued to listen, Arashi would begin to make her way down her own post as well, raising her brow as she recalled hearing of the extensive nature of the many levels of Kumogakure. Of course, this was the first time she'd heard of a place that seemed to revolve around a training that led underground. With the question of what kind of training grounds Suna possesses, Arashi would shrug her shoulders as she closed her eyes. "Mostly rocky terrain and endurance locations....we have some underground passages, but nothin that I'd imagine ya haven't seen here..." It was pretty plain unless you managed to make improvements. There were other levels of course, but it wasn't worth mentioning at the moment. Not to mention, every village had their secret playgrounds. The ruins were one, which held creatures of large and various natures. Azarea can't quite help chuckling at Arashi's surprise. She supposes in the grand scheme of things she doesn't look like much especially the student of the former Raikage. She forgets sometimes how Riku looked to outsiders intimidating, terrifying, a little unhinged with that threatening bird mask of his and his habit of messing with people's heads. To her he'd always been her work dodging mentor and a brilliant if a little bit goofy man. "Yes I was, am, his student, secretary, hider of shochu bottles, former quarantine roommate, and maker of excuses among other things." She explains gesturing for Arashi to follow her as she leads the woman out of the main training grounds and down a beaten stone trail that threads it's way through some narrow rocks.

"Unfortunately complications with my health kept me mostly village bound during his reign, but when he had free time he was an excellent mentor." Azarea admits her tone wistful and a little sad. She misses the man, but knows her mentor was never happy cooped up in a cage and at times that was all he saw Kumogakure as. The woman leading Arashi around a large boulder before they come into sight of a large open cavern filled to the brim with stalagmites and stalactites the sound of laughter echoing from inside as even from this far out a few shinobi are visible hopping between the massive spikes like flying squirrels. A few even playing a game of catch with a disk. With one young teen attempting to show off for his clearly unimpressed female teammate with more daring displays of flips and kicks that nearly lands him a spike through the arm. Only a hasty adjustment in his fall allowing him to slide down the side of one of the floor spikes without getting impaled.

"A lot of our sensei's feel a riskier, but controlled environment helps teach Kumo's shinobi to respect their footing and learn how to move quickly, but cautiously through the tall mountain passes." The woman offers in way of explanation, "But I have to admit your training grounds sound a bit easier to deal with. Less worry of some spike coming down off the ceiling and trying to impale you." Sometimes the spikes are even purposefully dislodged and then regrown by doton savvy shinobi to encourage awareness of ones surroundings.

"Sounds more like a chore than a mentee-mentor relationship..." A smirk crossed Arashi's lips as she followed behind the woman. In truth, she imagined that it was probably more interesting than she let on. If anything, getting to spend time with someone you admired had to be worth it.... Yea....spending time with someone you look up to is always worth it... Doing her best to hide her smile, she'd continue after the Kumo nin as she explained how much of her efforts had been focused to the village due to illness, but she still managed to spend time with Riku in his free time. Sadly, she questioned just how much of her own free time was spent with her own idols. Honestly, she had so many that each moment seemed like it had been a blur. Still, the one that mattered... "Sorry to hear that...I hope you've recovered since then..." Her expression was calm as she spoke, showing true concern as the last thing she wanted was to put a lot upon someone who wasn't completely up to it. Still, it seemed that Azerea was doing quite well so far. As they ventured into the cavern, it appeared as if they weren't alone. With youth apparently taking to the more slippery and rocky terrain in stride, Arashi would raise her brow as her companion explained how this training allowed for Kumo nin to respect their footing, along with the terrain in which they stood. The extent of this control is due to the supply gathered within her gourd, granting the bonus of power, but limited to only the amount contained within it. This ability makes her constructions more dense and harder to break down, and the swiftness of their creation is instant rather than requiring the prior time of build-up as before due to the strengthened bond between Arashi and Shukaku Ultimate Defense A Skill granted by her continued use and developed relationship with Shukaku over the continued use of his control over sand, Arashi has a stronger connection to the element, allowing her to use it at a much more intensive rate than before. As such, her defenses are much more adapt and capable of taking on stronger attacks and reinforcing itself at faster speed. This adaptation to the sand shield allows for it's reaction time to have increased and make it more challenging for attacks to connect and break through the first layer, while acting still on the natural inclinations of auto-repairing itself for the next strike. Sand Control Arashi is granted two forms of defense by the Ichibi. The first one is a subconscious ability granted by the Bijuu is that there is constantly a barrier of sand clinging to Arashi’s skin. This barrier acts as a shield against her skin, absorbing heavy blows and protecting her. Her sand defense is very tough, being very difficult to break through. The sand has been likened to steel and concrete. The second form is one which pulls sand from her surroundings and the sand piled on her skin to form a visible barrier and dome like barrier around her. The sand is typically pulled from the ground and any nearby source. Arashi’s various dogs often have a plentiful amount of sand carried in their thick coats. As such, the sand is often pulled from their coats to be used to protect the girl. Through the course of her training, Arashi has learned to control both of these forms of defense to a degree, making her much more capable of mounting a defense in a variety of ways. But she still at times must incumbent some cooperation from Shukaku to ensure of it's sustainability. Arashi can control sand and wind around herself to whip up sandstorms with powerful gusts. The sandstorm often appears when she’s emotionally strained and damaged. If there is no sand around her, powerful breezes will still gather around her. Shukaku enjoys teasing the girl to the point where sandstorms appear. But with the course of time, Arashi had grown more comfortable with this and developed a thick skin towards such actions by the Bijuu. While Arashi had previous had little to no control over her other sand related abilities, she has a somewhat capable hand at this one. Because of the trauma of her sand attacking her classmates at a young age, Arashi has managed to reign in some of this power. Learning to bend the sand to her will, Arashi can keep it from hurting those she doesn’t want it to hurt. Sand will be gathered from nearby sources to be used as a weapon when this ability activates. This ability typically only activates when Arashi is in severe danger, but it has now become possible for her to do so with ease. Though it is more prone to activating near or on full moons. The sand takes the form of blunt objects or tendrils to bash or choke enemies. During moments of extreme strain, Arashi loses all control over this ability as well. Enhanced Smell Somehow, Arashi has gained an enhanced sense of smell. It appears that she’s been hanging around dogs for too long and has obtained a sense of smell that rivals that of a blood hound. In reality, she has simply discovered that by channeling some chakra to her nose she can enhance the cells within it and gain a super sense of smell that may act as a sensor and tracking technique. She can smell out strangers, steel and various other things. Arashi may retract her chakra from her nose as well to make her sense of smell return to normal. Due in most regards to her heavily enhanced sense of smell, With her continued usage of this ability, she has now become capable of near passively monitoring the exact range of a target and their positioning within 250 meters.
