"Well not in this section of the cavern there isn't. I can't promise that it's friendlier further in." Azarea jokes as the woman threads chakra to her feet and walks up the slippery side of the cavern wall. The droplets of water echoing through the cave as they drop off the stalactites and onto the stalagmites. The formations giving the area the feel of an ancient mouth full of razor sharp teeth as the woman leaps off the wall to stick herself, sliding only a little on the slippery surface, to one of the larger spikes.

"Come on up! I promise it's actually a lot of fun." She quips flashing Arashi a grin as she forms her hands into the seal concentrating on trying to minimize the amount used down to the bare minimum as she releases her chakra in a rippling Kai. Before checking how much chakra she had actually used. The amount was better. The drain on sticking to the surface and using techniques was manageable, but she could still squeeze out more from her reserves and due to use less.

"I've been working on my control of late. Waste not want not when it comes to smaller chakra pools." She explains with a lopsided grin to excuse her sudden waves of chakra in case Arashi could sense such.

Watching as Azarea began to make her way up toward the ceiling, Arashi would hear her call for her to join her, prompting the Sunagakure nin to sigh as she began to make her way to the wall. Moving upon a surface with the usage of chakra was not much of a challenge after having mastered it the first time, but she'd honestly find it more difficult as she had to account for the slippery conditions of her surroundings on this occasion. It was certainly different. "Heh...okay..." As she began to focus her chakra into her feet, she'd begin to ascend sideways, her body moving upward, gingerly at first, yet seeming to begin to get the hang of it as she continued forward. "Alright...startin to see why this is...woah! Training worthy...this ain't easy..." Attempting to balance out her movements, she'd begin to work toward managing the resistance against her footing, along with keeping herself attached to the surface that seemed to be slick with liquid. In having finally managed to place herself upside down, she'd feel her weight dip a bit downward, but the sensation was no less different than it was normally. "Heh heh! Okay! We're up here...now what?" This barrier acts as a shield against her skin, absorbing heavy blows and protecting her. Her sand defense is very tough, being very difficult to break through. The sand has been likened to steel and concrete. The second form is one which pulls sand from her surroundings and the sand piled on her skin to form a visible barrier and dome like barrier around her. The sand is typically pulled from the ground and any nearby source. Arashi’s various dogs often have a plentiful amount of sand carried in their thick coats. As such, the sand is often pulled from their coats to be used to protect the girl. Through the course of her training, Arashi has learned to control both of these forms of defense to a degree, making her much more capable of mounting a defense in a variety of ways. But she still at times must incumbent some cooperation from Shukaku to ensure of it's sustainability. Arashi can control sand and wind around herself to whip up sandstorms with powerful gusts. The sandstorm often appears when she’s emotionally strained and damaged. If there is no sand around her, powerful breezes will still gather around her. Shukaku enjoys teasing the girl to the point where sandstorms appear. But with the course of time, Arashi had grown more comfortable with this and developed a thick skin towards such actions by the Bijuu. While Arashi had previous had little to no control over her other sand related abilities, she has a somewhat capable hand at this one. Because of the trauma of her sand attacking her classmates at a young age, Arashi has managed to reign in some of this power. Learning to bend the sand to her will, Arashi can keep it from hurting those she doesn’t want it to hurt. Sand will be gathered from nearby sources to be used as a weapon when this ability activates. This ability typically only activates when Arashi is in severe danger, but it has now become possible for her to do so with ease. Though it is more prone to activating near or on full moons. She can smell out strangers, steel and various other things. Arashi may retract her chakra from her nose as well to make her sense of smell return to normal. Due in most regards to her heavily enhanced sense of smell, With her continued usage of this ability, she has now become capable of near passively monitoring the exact range of a target and their positioning within 250 meters. "Ok see those thinner Stalactites? The ones that are a sort of lighter grey color?" Azarea explains pointing out the spikes in question. Most around them were made of darker run-off stone and minerals, but a few were thinner with lighter grey bands going through them. "Those have faulty makeup or bases. Our job as part of training is to knock those down. The other group we encountered before already got their section." She elaborates before glancing to ensure the area they area in is clear of people beneath them before cupping her hands around her mouth and calling out.

"BEGINNING TRAINING! SECTION B-3! CLEAR THE AREA!" The red head calls out getting a few distant echoing affirmatives from up and down the large lengthy cavern.

"Ok. So here's how you clear them and train. It's tricky at first, but if you slip and can't catch yourself I'll grab you before you hit the ground and get a spike through the shoulder. We always train here in pairs for this reason." She explains turning to give Arashi a thumbs up before sharply fluctuating the chakra in her feet adding too much to give her jump a spring as she launches herself at one of the faulty columns like a flying squirrel flinging itself into the air. Her hands reaching out as she smacks into the column clinging to it with chakra as her weight causes the stone to give with a sharp ominous CRACK. The woman has seconds at most to escape as she and the heavy stone begin to fall. The Adv. genin flaring her chakra again as she pushes off the stone just barely managing to catch another solid stalactite. Her grip slipping across the water and lichen slick stone till she's just clinging to it with her fingertips and chakra barely managing to swing herself up enough to curl and plant her feet against the cavern ceiling as she stares at Arashi from her upside down position panting a bit from the exertion.

"Right! And that's how you do it! When you get really good you can even ping pong between bad stalactites, but the speed, concentration to spot faulty formations, and chakra control can be really challenging. I've only seen sp. jounin and up manage it at a good clip and even they slip sometimes given how often the conditions in here change whenever there's been a storm. It's great training." She adds with a breathless little laugh really feeling the effects of her lost stamina due to so many years idle with sickness, but her grin is one of exhilaration. If nothing else she'd perfect using the minimal amount of chakra needed in no time if she wanted to not be turned into a pincushion.

The act alone was quite impressive, especially since it seemed to take a lot of timing and chakra control in which to perform. In watching Azarea's display in explaining the training at hand, Arashi would cross her arms over her chest, her hazel gaze watching her form and also noting the flotation of his chakra as it wavered and settled into place as she moved from one surface to the next. Yet, upon completing the task, she'd seem to do her best to keep control of her breathing, even going so far as to return to her previous position on the cavern ceiling. "This almost looks more like a game than training...gotta say though...hella fun..." The tan skinned shinobi would then nod as she allowed her hand to rest upon her hip before then looking over at the spikes. It was indeed hard to make out the ones that were the target, but she imagined that once she got into it, having encountered one, she could get the hang of it. "Alright...think I got it...how much time do we have?" Stretching her arms upward, she'd then prepare as she looked around and then down below to make sure that they were still in the clear. While she didn't have much to fear in terms of getting turned into a pinned ornament, she imagined for her own training, that she should attempt not to use her natural defenses for this one. After all, it would bring up too many questions and she didn't need to hassle of explaining it. Azarea can't help, but crack a grin at Arashi's comment a soft chuckle spilling from the woman's throat, "You're not wrong. It's difficult to motivate yourself to improve when everything around you is going to hell. So those Sensei's who were well enough came up with this 'game' to help cheer up and encourage genin to improve. It's fun and the more people you have the safer it becomes for everyone so genin who lost their sensei's or who's sensei's were too sick to teach could be pooled together and brought here." The red head explains offering a little mini-history lesson on this particular training strategy.

"And it is a lot of fun." She adds scoping out another stalactite before launching herself at it. Impacting it and this time using her impact to immediately vault right off it instead of wasting seconds gathering more chakra. The spike snapping and crashing to the ground with a satisfying noise of smashing stone.

"And we've got this section for the next five hours, but we'll probably run out of stalactite's before then." Azarea admits as she flashes Arashi another bright playful grin. "But if you're bored we can clear some of the clutter of Stalagmites from below as well. It makes great combat training for Taijutsu and Ninjutsu." She adds gesturing to the spikes below them.

"Makes sense...especially with the plague ya went through..." The idea of trying to find a means of boosting morale was in-genius in it's own way. Not to mention efficient in terms of creating a space where individuals could hash out their problems and yet still find some enjoyment in it as well. It did make her consider doing something similar back home. Sure, the ruins within the outskirts were being rebuilt, but the maze like area could even be turned into something of an obstacle course if converted as such. It would promote survival at the very least, and even allow for a more team like training regiment. Though they had something close to that with the races...this just seemed a bit more practical. Of course, there was a huge difference in the making behind such a design, and it was clear in how at eased Azarea was in performing it. She too had been sick, and this was a way of getting back into better condition. Along with giving rise to promising shinobi. But since they had some time, and they could also work on the bottom area as well, it did provide a means of making this activity even more interesting. "Nice...okay then! Guess we can make it interestin then...first to get the most completed?" Shrugging her shoulders, Arashi would hold a toothy grin as she closed her eyes. "What can I say? I'm competitive...plus somethin like this isn't available every day ya know?" In saying that, she'd then dart toward one of the stalagmite's below her, slamming her knee against it as it began to crumble beneath the force of her charge. In using her strength, along with the fact that her own body was armored, the rocky spike would splinter for a moment before collapsing in on itself. "Kinda hard to resist..." "Well need is the mother of all innovation as they say," The woman quipped matching Arashi's grin with a lopsided fanged one of her own as she nods to the various stalactites that needed to be taken out. "All right there looks to be..." And Azarea narrows her eyes counting out the ones that would need to be removed in this section.

"Thirty two faulty stalactites. We'll count out how many we've taken out as we take them down. The one who gets the majority of the thirty-two wins!" She suggests priming her chakra as her hive buzzes inaudibly in excitement just beneath her skin. The likelihood of success against a superior opponent was slim, but the drive of competition was one she could not deny having missed. Sides knocking down the rock formations was plenty of fun even if she expected to be near exhausted by the end of it. Though it would make an excellent way to test how little chakra she could utilize in her jutsu's and still keep them working.

"All right on my mark... ready.... set...." She draws out the words crouching low like a racer on the starting line her eyes already darting along the path she intended to take to maximize her gain.

"GO!" Azarea roars out launching towards her first stalactite at top speed.

"Alright" Arashi would continue to hold her toothy grin as she began to prepare herself as well. With thirty-two targets available, that meant that they had just as many chances as the other to get the most out of them. The key was noting which ones were indeed the real ones and which were their targets. Identification like that at top speed was a challenge, but it was something that would come with more exposure to it than observation alone. Of course, Arashi wasn't going to let that stop her from trying her hardest. After all, she wasn't one to lose easy on anything... Moment Music In hearing the count-down for their start, she'd crouch as well before looking over at Azarea and then forward as she noted her first target being ahead of her as well. Waiting for the word, she'd soon burst ahead once the signal of go was given, her target ahead of her as she surged in it's direction. As she applied Raiton to her lower limbs, her body would sprint forward with it's charged and static like presence, spinning upon her heel as she launched her leg outward, strike at the facility made fixture as it clasped downward under the force of her strike. "One!" In saying this, she'd press her hand against the surface of the ground, turning herself as she sped off toward the next one. A Softly muttered "Oh shit~" can be heard from Azarea as Arashi's legs become wreathed in lightning. The sight certainly a bit intimidating to the older genin, but she keeps her focus. Impacting her first stalagmite with a crack and calls out, "ONE!" as she launched towards her second. The woman having plotted out her targets in threes as she decides that in this competition she's just going to have to hope familiarity and control sees her through rather then outright speed. Hopefully Arashi would need to stop to assess her own targets, unfamiliar with what the type of stone she was looking for looked like, and that would buy Azarea time to not lose too badly. Hopefully. It'd be really embarrassing if she lost really badly.

But there was a childish thrill to such a race as she let out a laugh that turns to a slight wheeze as she impacts her second target. The stone giving way under her weight if not in quite as impressive of a display as Arashi's moves, as she adds a quick "TWo" only sounding a little winded from the impact. Where had the days gone where she was an over excited kid that you could chuck out of a tree and bounce back from anything?

Ah right probably before the poison.

'Well we're just going to bury that little traumatic thought,' She thinks and flings herself onto her third target catching it with her hands and using her momentum to flip her feet up to stick them to the ceiling like a gymnast catching the low bar and using it to fling themselves to the next one up. Her third target hitting the ground with a satisfying crack as she takes a second to locate her next handful of spikes. "Three!"

"Heh! Okay! Now its gettin interesting!" Seeing how Azarea moved just prompted the Suna nin to try even harder to beat her. Of course, the disadvantage was much on her own side. After all, she was not familiar with this layout and she could only attempt to guess at the locations of each spike that was made for collapse. But her previous encounter with the first, along with the instructions given at the start, gave her some insight in what to look for. Though having fallen behind, Arashi wasn't going to give up just yet. With her turn made, it was a matter of making her way to the next. As she raced along the surface, she'd begin to apply chakra to her lower limbs, propelling her forward as she seemed almost like a blur as she began to hit her targets in a zig zag motion. The move was quick, prompting her to slide once more as she worked to brace herself upon finishing her series of attacks. Yet soon enough, though it appeared to have little impact, three more spikes began to descend toward the ground, causing Arashi to point toward them as they did. "Two...three...and four! That makes four!" In saying this, Arashi would scan her surroundings for the next set that she had to take on. This was likely the most fun she'd had in a long time, and it wasn't at home. It certainly allowed herself to think of other things, and the competition was appreciated, even if it was just for this moment. It was pushing her to come up with new ideas, new tactics, and even how to make use of old ones that had been put on the back burner for some time. They were both definately making progress as Azarea launched herself to towards the first of the next three in her set impacting it a bit hard as she scrambled to attach herself to another solid stalactite lest she go down with the one she hit. "Four!" She calls outa touch winded between the impact and her own breathless laughing. Lungs wheezing a bit, but uncaring as she threw herself towards the next shoulder checking it and using the momentum to smack herself into another stalactite behind it like a sugar glider clinging to a tree. "Five!" There was certainly no grace in Azarea's methods in comparison to Arashi's, but hey work with what'cha got. The woman taking aim for her next one only to fumble and realize she'd over extened forcing herself to lash out with a hand barely catching solid stone with her fingertips and try and swing herself back up into a stable position before hip and hopping towards her target. Wasting more time then she'd like, but inevitably reaching it. "And six!" She yells out breathless sucking in air between her teeth as she giggles and tries to find three more to line up. The process getting a bit harder with Arashi bouncing around.

The newcomer having begun to figure out the trick in spotting the targets. Not that Azarea could really fault her for it. All's fair in love and war after all.

Things were starting to heat up as the two were clearly keeping neck and neck with each other. It wasn't so much as each were seeming to one up the other by each passing second. A pattern that wouldn't be changing anytime soon as with Azarea's success with another set of three, Arashi would come back with her own as she seemed to increase in speed as she raced across the ceiling. Her legs pushed her forward in the next indicated targets, her gaze focused before then twisting herself around as she launch a kick into the side of another spike. But in the process of it's descent, the young woman would lash out with another, spinning on her heels swiftly as she collided into the next, and then the final one hit by a heavy impact of her knee. While a normally painful exchange, the sand barrier across her skin that layered the surface made for enough padding to allow for only mild discomfort. Of course, if it had been years ago, she'd probably have broken her leg with such a stunt. Releasing a breath, she'd watch it fall upon her minor lift from the surface of the ground, replanting herself upside down as she then looked at Azarea with a toothy grin. "Five..six..and seven! Heh...beat that?" Arashi would then begin to look once more. The area from this position was starting to become much more clear. Though the feeing could not be shared for the lands below. It appeared as if a cave in had occurred, with the crumbles of rocks and the broken pillars that once stood pointed down. Though that still left remained and if they continued, they'd likely only be done to one...and that would be where things got harder. So far, they had been keeping a good enough distance from each other. But the goal was to get the most. Which meant, that space would have to get closer. "Holy shit~" Azarea muttered under her breath unable to quite help herself from pausing to watch the flurried exhange. Jaw somewhat slack in shock before she blinked, and shook herself out of it. Arashi must be some sort of taijutsu specialist to manage such things without snapping a leg or perhaps she had the benefit of more training. Whatever she'd done seemed to have utilized some sort of doton, but the technique was too high of a level for Azarea to grasp though the private admission left her blushing in embarrassment.

"I'm not out of the race yet!" She calls over flashing a grin as the woman does her best to rally. The paths between her targets and the stable stalactites having widened forcing Azarea to bounce from point to point between her targets. Tackling the first one as it dropped and launching herself off it. "Seven!" Before turning to make her way towards the eighth. Her pace slowing noticeably as the amount of targets began to dwindle and the ones that were around were spread out further. Forcing her to rely more purely on her speed then just strategy. Giving Arashi an edge over her initial advantage of prior knowledge.

"In the midst of chaos..."

Azarea didn't even bother launching herself at her eighth target. Instead the woman sticks her hands to one of the nearby stalactites and swings both her legs out to leverage herself against the rock and push it over sideways. It's not elegant. Not by any stretch of the imagination, but it saves a bit of the red heads rapidly dwindling chakra. The longer jumps and further hopping draining her quicker then she had initially anticipated. "Eight!" She pants out head swiveling to try to relocate her next target hoping to get to it before Arashi figured out that it was easier to look where Azarea was heading than find the targets herself.

Deciding to spare what chakra she had in an effort to get a leg up Azarea launched herself forward scrabbling over the slick rock and stone towards her next target like a scuttling spider. Her hive buzzing beneath her skin too low to hear, but enough for it to be felt in concern at her rapidly dwindling chakra levels. The last time she had pushed herself this hard after all had left her half buried in a landslide and on medical leave again for days and the bugs were protesting. Eventually reaching her target as she slung her leg out attempting to hit the tip of the stalactite to dislodge it and only taking off an inch of stone as she groaned in protest before repeating her previous actions to swing herself sideways and give it a good hard shove. "Nine." She wheezed out thinking maybe thirty two was a bit high of a number. Even if they each got half that was sixteen stalactites.
