[attr="class","skullbody"]Many months ago Jun was given the task of watching over a foreing visitor that had come to her lands and now today she was on a similar journey however this time she was the foreigner in a strange land.

Iwagakure to be exact she’d never seen such architecture before and was curious about the land but the other thing that had wondered her, was who would be her guide she was somewhat eager to see a certain someone again but wasn’t certain how he must’ve felt about her after the way that their last meeting had ended.

Either way today was a chance for knowledge to learn about an entirely new land that she was honestly quite unfamiliar with. The entire time she had been on the way over to the village she did her best to take notes and made small drawings into her notebook as she traveled with her chaperone to the village, eager to learn but weary of just who may be there to greet her.

"Remember Jun we are here for diplomatic reasons…so be weary of how much of yourself you divulge and be on your best behavior.” Jun would nod to her team leader. "Yes sir.” the girl would remark. "I will do my best to treat our allies with respect, but I'd be saying if I wasn't eager to know what they can teach me.”

Again, Souma found herself taking over for Jiro-sama.

With the hospital director sticking to his established habits of vanishing when needed most for anything outside of medical treatment, it was Souma that ended up tapped to escort the visitor from Yukigakure around the village. It wasn't that she minded- or had minded teaching the first aid lesson to the academy students- but it was time away from working on mastering some of the tricks she was learning from her friends on the paths of Taijutsu, and time away from studying new medical techniques. Important, nonetheless. She'd just have to make the best of it.

The girl waiting for Jun when she arrived was young- younger than Jun by at least a few years- and dressed in surprisingly heavy kit, with armored plates hanging deceptively comfortably over her Iwagakure uniform. She seemed entirely at ease, and waved pleasantly when she saw her intended escort for the day, her lips curving in a subtle, gentle smile.

"Hello- and welcome to Iwagakure. I am Tantetsu Souma, one of the Medical Corps' Chuunin, and I will be showing you around the village today. Do you two need to be shown to your lodgings before we begin?"

[attr="class","skullbody"]As the two had arrived at the gate they would see someone coming. "Ah there’s our diplomat now.” Tanaka would say. Jun who seemed eager to see a certain someone again would see the woman and her heart would sink a tad. Sadly it wasn’t Jou the boy she had come to be attached too after having left the village some time ago. However the specimen of a woman that had walked her way did seem rather interesting none the less and she couldn’t let her composure be shaken by her emotions she needed to remain professional after all. The girl would greet the armored woman with a smile.

"Greetings, Jun Muramatsa of the Diplomacy Corps.” the girl would say with a pleased disposition. As she bowed to the woman she’d take a gander at her armor. "I must say what an exquisite design, I've never such armor before.” Jun upon seeing this would feel some of her sorrows slightly wash away as she became abuzz with questions in her mind which her chaperone could also see. "There she goes again.” he’d think to himself. She had only made one statement but could tell she had several more she was just waiting to ask.

"I am Tanaka Kamaki, Jun’s and I are with the diplomacy corps, pleased to meet you as well. But I was under the impression that Jun would be staying with you?” those were the terms that were agreed upon during their last visit where one Jou Himishi stayed at the home of Miss Jun Muramatsa however he could understand the reasonings as to why it may different seeing that the Tantesu were more of a village where as Jun’s clan was nomadic and could be found in all sorts of locale’s.

Diplomat. That was a joke. Souma would be an awful diplomat. Terrible at reading the room, trusting and enthusiastic at all the wrong times. Tour guide, though.

That she could manage.

Jun's sadness at not seeing Jou was lost entirely on Souma. She'd never have caught the quiet emotion on anyone besides Taki or her family in the first place, and even if she had, Jou was a sore spot. His bitch of a relative had assaulted her over- what, agreeing to his request to teach him? Ridiculous. Doubtless she'd be just as hateful of some foreign girl stealing her boy's attentions.

"Greetings, Muramatsa-san. It is a pleasure, to be sure." Souma bent in a respectful bow. The compliment made Souma smile delicately, and she added, "Indeed. A specialty of my family, and of my own design. A poor example of Tantetsu craftsmanship, if I say so myself, but you will see better on premises." She glanced to Tanaka, and offered, "But of course, Kamaki-san- that does not mean she automatically knows the way to my family's estate, though. It is polite for me to offer, so she does not need to ask to put her things away before the tour if she so prefers." Pause.

"At least I think it is. Was I incorrect?"

[attr="class","skullbody"]With the two having been greeted by the woman Jun would smile to her companion welcoming the greeting but hope that the melancholic expression on her face wasn’t too ever-present. From there Souma would speak with Kamaki in regards to their housing situation with Kamaki being the fool for while he was not incorrect his sentiments there was still a small tinge of logic he had lacked.

"But of course I was being rather presumptuous, my apologies.” he’d state. "And Miss Tantetsu if your armor is an example of terrible craftsmanship then I only wish I can only imagine how resplendent the armor of the more refined members of your clan must be.”

The girl would state giving her another compliment, or at least she’d hoped it had come out as such. With that the purple gi wearing girl would follow along with her gracious house guest towards her lodging, taking in the architecture as they went about noting how brutalist it all looked. She’d take our her notebook and pen and would begin jotting down a few notes, firstly on Souma herself and then a few smaller ones about the village itself, as she craned her head around like a kid in a candy store she’d seem excited to learn more about this strange new land.

Souma, thankfully, didn't seem to notice that melancholy in the slightest. It wasn't a dismissive mask over noticing her discomfort, but simply a total lack of recognition. In fact, she seemed mostly occupied with some relief at not having misread the social situation. Kamaki's apology is accepted without concern, leaving her smiling faintly. "It is no trouble, Kamaki-san, please do not worry yourself. I am simply trying to make your comfort as my guests a priority, even when it comes to social functions. Please do not hesitate to let me know if I can do something more to your liking." Somehow, she didn't come off subservient at all- more like a chemist or a craftsman asking peers to inform them of possible improvements.

"I promise you will not want for better examples of Tantetsu craftsmanship once we arrive at the estate, Muramatsa-san. Come, this way. We've some ways to walk- which will let you get a better sense of the village as a whole. I believe this is the first time the two of you have had the pleasure of Iwagakure no Sato's hospitality? Do I have that right?" She led the way into the village proper as they spoke, winding through streets spread across or dug into stone, the general architecture executed with quiet pride in its sturdy construction despite its relatively humble appearances.

"But of course Miss Tantetsu.” as they kept moving she would make note that Jun might see better material then what Souma had on display which the young girl found rather hard to believe but was excited nonetheless, but would then ask a curious question as to wether or not it was the first time that she had been to Iwagakure. "I can’t say that I have, but I’m happy to be here nonetheless.” the girl would say with a chipper kick in her step.

"Your architecture is fascinating, and I’m very eager to learn about the other facets of your culture I’m sure the visit to your compound with be enlightening!” With that the girl would pull out her notebook once more and begin scribbling down more tidbits taking in the architecture of the village but would also focus intently on Souma herself looking up at her and then down back at her notebook crafting a sketch of the girl using seals in a form of artistic calligraphy.

"Jun put that away.” her superior would state. She’d look up towards him. "I'm merely taking a few sketches.” Jun would say smiling to him. "That had better be all your doing." he'd chide prompting the girl to let out a giggle. "Of course sir."

"Well, then! I am delighted for the chance to be your guide. We will, of course, work our way to my family's estates first, so you can set your things down and get comfortable- and once we have done that, we can discuss either seeing the sights, getting a meal, or whatever else might feel most appropriate to you at that time," Souma stated calmly as she led the way through the city.

Even out here, there were surprising examples of Tantetsu steel everywhere. Reinforcing buildings, creating utilitarian structures like lamp posts and fences, and always with the family crest stamped into the metalwork someplace. And this was just in the village general. The architecture used, of course, tons of stone, and since wood was in short supply on mountaintops, steel often did the work of supporting stone structures- where they weren't just carved into the stone itself.

"Hm?" Souma noticed the interaction and glanced back. "There is no particular issue with her taking sketches or such. This is a public area, after all. I hope I will not be disappointing you when I point out that your time in the village will not exactly be dripping with exposure to secrets of village security and the like."

"Your courteousness is greatly appreciated.” the white haired woman would say as she continued making her small sketches but as Jun and her superior bickered Souma would state that her sketching was no problem what so ever which made the girl smile.

"See sir, Souma-chan doesn’t seem to mind.” the girl would giggle as her superior would simply sigh, once the two of them would make their way towards the Tantetsu Compound Jun would find herself astounded by the architecture and how it seemed to differ from the others with the manner in which it took advantage of steel in a way that was rather elegant and artistic, it projected a sense of power but was also eye-catching in a manner that was pleasing to behold.

"I’ve never seen such architecture?” the girl would say she could sketch something like this for hours. "How old is it?” the girl would wonder. "And how do you keep it from rusting?” she’d say were there some sort of properties within the chakra that gave it such functionality and longevity she had so many questions as she looked over the large locale.

But before her questions could be answered her superior would clear his throat. "Jun…” the girl would turn back towards him. "It’s was a simple question…” the girl would say with a blush on her face raising her hands in defense of herself. "That isn’t what I was getting at.” he would state. "Oh…?” the girl would remark.

"Now that you’ve made it to the Tantetsu compound I shall be taking my leave of you, I trust you will do us proud, remember you are representing the nation of Yuki no Kuni remember this.” the girl would bow to her superior. "Yes Sir!” with that he would take his leave and the girl would be left to her own devices as he departs the girl would then turn back towards Souma, it was her first time being left in another village on her own she needed to leave a good impression since she was representing her village as a member of the diplomacy corps. With that she’d turn towards Souma, "So then shall we continue with the rest of the tour?” the youth would say eager to move forward and explore more of her abode.

"Perhaps- but only appropriate," Souma responded as Jun thanked her for her courteousness. She did appreciate the compliment, but as envoy for her village, it was precisely what was expected. She did pause briefly at being called Souma-chan, and spoke up gently. "Forgive me, but perhaps you could stick to calling me Tantetsu-san, Muramatsa-san?" It was still more familiar than their relative ranks would ordinarily permit while being so unfamiliar to each other, but Souma-chan was the sort of thing nobody outside her family besides Taki got to call her.

"I couldn't tell you precisely how old, but we keep it from rusting with regular applications of our clan's specialty release: Koton." Steel release, clearly. She remained quiet as her escort took his leave, offering a simple, "Thank you for seeing her all this way, Kamaki-san. I'll ensure she's returned to you in just the condition she's in now, if not perhaps a bit more well informed!" Then, she nodded to Jun as she asked to continue. "Of course. Right this way." She started to lead her through the halls of the complex- nowhere near anyplace sensitive, but through galleries of absolutely magnificent suits of armo, impeccably forged weaponry, and such, giving her the chance to ask what she might.

[attr="class","skullbody"]The girl was happily eager to be allowed to take notes but was then corrected about the manner in which she was told to address her. This would prompt the girl to nod and would come across rather embarrassed. "My apologies, I tend to be very open with most, Tnatesu-san.” the girl would say giving off a rather friendly vibe. She most certainly understood the point but felt she wanted to facilitate a trusting environment; however calling her Muramatsa was also fine. "I must’ve forgotten the difference in our ranks, but feel free to call me either Muramatsa-san or Jun-chan.”

With that the two of them would make their way further into the compound she would be told to be mindful of her notes and Jun respected that she had a great love for knowledge but was aware that some things couldn’t be discovered no matter how hard one pried. As they going the girl would divu;ge that the metal structure kept its pristine shine due in part to something called Koton a special release she was certain. "Is that some form of Kekkai Genkai?” the girl would ask keeping a special section that read Tantetsu, keeping some notes jotted down but only what she was allowed to know.

As they kept moving they be brought into a hall that had a great many suits of armor within them. "Oh my…!” the craftsmanship on display was rather enticing to the young woman. "The design on the steel is marvelous. Do they each represent something? Do you all make your armor yourselves?” she would notice some distinct feature that was different in each one, taking the time to turn a few pages in her notebook and looking to Souma. "Do you mind if I sketch it?” the girl would say keeping pen to paper if she had gotten the go ahead.

"It is really alright. It is half to keep myself in the mind of a diplomat. This- is not... my usual job. I am not great with people, but I am good at policy and propriety. Rules and such. That is what I like about medicine, bodies do not so much as break rules as switch which rules they are using in some circumstances. So once you learn the rulesets, medical care is mostly about identifying which ruleset is in use," Souma shared as they walked, clearly putting it all behind them.

"And I would rather address each other as equals. Our ranks may not match, but I am- well aware that I am a little younger than most expect to hold my rank. Keeping the conversation on level grounds helps me not feel so out of place trying to lead someone three years my senior around the village."

Souma smiled at her quick pick-up. "Kekkai Tota, in fact. Katon, Suiton, and Doton combine to forge steel. Katon heats the minerals gathered by Doton, Sution quenches them, and the result is Tantetsu Steel. I can share that much. Any blacksmith could guess that, it's how steel is hand-forged, after all." Which she and hers knew well- as they themselves were smiths!

"Certainly, feel free to sketch what you see. The designs are ornamental, but yes, they are all personal. I cannot tell you what each means to the one that forged it, but the wave designs on mine, for instance, reminds me to try to be flexible. To adapt to those around me and the situations around us, rather than trying to stay rigid and comfortable in what I already know."

[attr="class","skullbody"]As the girl would move her towards the halls she’d remark how she wasn’t great with people and that she was good at policy and propriety. Making a note about medicine denoting that bodies do not break many rules her words about medicine were worded very well. "Oh she's a doctor?” the girl would think as she kept walking with her.

Judging by her looks she wouldn’t have guessed as much based on her style of dress to her she came off as more of a brute but it made her more intrigued and after having Koton explained to her the girl would quickly jot down a few notes in order to indicate such, she would nod her head attentively. "So your body effectively produces steel through the molding of Chakra and you said Kekkai Touta, a summation of 3 elements interesting."

As the two of them would continue to make their way down the halls the girl would think on the idea of it a bit more and writing down the information she was given making a remark about a blacksmith being able to do and decipher the same. "So I'm assuming you also craft your own armor yourself?" she'd ask wanting to make sure she hadn't missed anything she had never encountered anything like this within her own village or if she had she couldn't recall them off the top of her head.

A short while later the silver haired Youth would have her answer, stating that each one was personal which she inferred to mean that it was crafted by each individual and as Jun looked them over and prepared her sketchbook the girl would tell her that her armor represented the need for her to be flexible and that she should never remain stagnant, something that Jun could align with as she felt the same.

"A wise sentiment...I too believe that one should never be too set in their ways and to allow their skills to work in tandem with one another always searching for knowledge or new possibilities." she'd look back at the girl and smile. For a moment there was a silence as she took the time to sketch each piece of armor, hearing the girl mention that each ornamental design meant something special to the individual made her think. "I wonder if I made armor is that what mine would say about me...?" she'd say with a small laugh to herself.

As she took the time to etch each sketch she would keep her eyes fixated on each one and then speak to Souma not taking her eyes off of what she’s seen. "I’d still like to know about your line of work.” she’d state. "Can you tell me about it? You're a doctor are you not?” the girl would say looking to her with a smile, still wanting to let her know that she was attentive.

"How long have you been practicing?" the girl would ask but as they made their way into the building with each of the different sets of armor, however before she could answer Jun was caught off guard by the armor and would begin making sketches.

"Ah, no. Not exactly. The steel is produced externally in most cases by applying katon to doton and tempering it with suiton. It is similar in most function to doton, honestly," Souma pointed out. "Which makes it relatively easy to predict if you are familiar with Doton techniques, but many facets are very different. If you expect a mud slide and are engulfed in molten steel... the effects are quite dissimilar."

Souma nodded approvingly at Jun's thoughts on teamwork, and tilted her head at the comment about wondering what her armor would say about her. "It is not so mysterious- the question is, what would you say about yourself when crafting your armor? It is not like those personality quizzes in magazines where you do not know the answer before you fill in your replies- it is the other way around. You must know what you wish to make before you make it. It is relatively uncommon for a craftsman to be surprised by their own work. Inspired part-way, perhaps- but not surprised."

Then on to questions about her profession. "An iryu-nin, yes. I am one of the practicing physicians managing the village hospital. There are some others, but I find myself running the day to day more often than I like. The head doctor is extremely talented, beyond myself, without question. I wish he was more engaged, though. I think the normal cases bore him."

"How long?" Souma considered. "Since I graduated, so. A year? A little longer?"

"Don't work smart, or hard. Work smart, then hard."
