Standing out in the Hatake clan training grounds, Shinde took a deep breath as she prepared to meet and confront her father after some time. She'd trained. Trained really hard when her father went to the Chunin Exams, and it was here she was eager to show off her growth and development since then. Having come with all of her ninja equipment, her headband firmly tied around her forehead, she tied her hair back into a ponytail, leaving it mid length around her back. How hard she'd worked, to get to here. She knew she was still a farcry away from her father's level, but the developments she'd made in that time were staggering. Weren't they? Besides, she had more than a couple new tricks to show her father. Dressed in more sports like gear, longer cargo shorts, a grey cloak wrapping around her simple wardrobe?

She slowly rose when he'd arrive off of her knees. "Hello. Tou-San. I'm glad you've made some time to help me train today. I know the Chunin Exams are starting to come up...and well. I was hoping if you could gauge my progress. If you think that I'd be ready and worthy to go." Drawing her Jitte, she rests its tip along the ground as she leans atop it, the cylindrical tip lightly embedding into the dirt as she seemed to take a deep breath. Collecting herself. It was almost as if she was going to face off against a mighty wolf. Or in this case, the man whom slain it. "I hope that this time around? I'll impress you." A charming smile and a wink of an eye, she waited for him. To see his demeanor, and to see if she could read any emotion off of him.

Something that she realized she struggled with when looking into him. "...Are you ready?" The clouds lay overhead, making it a nice and cool day, somewhat more dim with shade as she felt the breeze chill her skin.

Shinde had been training really hard in preparation for the Chuunin Exams, and he was confident she would do well on them. As he arrived home and headed to the training grounds, he saw that the youngling was already there, hair in a ponytail and with an eager expression on her face. "I see you are already here. You look ready to start." he said with a subtle smile on his thin lips. He heard her words and he nodded as she readied her Jitte. This time, however, he started by grabbing a kunai and holding it in his right hand, assuming a stance that was similar to the one he displayed before, following the Hatake style of the Tennen Rishin-ryu. "I'm ready. I need you to come as if you were going to kill me. Chuunin Exams are based on deadly challenges and matched, and your opponent may not show you any mercy. Did you know a boy named Nara Yoru?" he asked, narrowing his eyes and gripping his kunai a bit harder. The Nara boy had been taken under his wing shortly before the exams, and although he showed promise, his naivety costed him dearly during the exams, and he had lost his life. That fate was one he wanted his daughter to avoid at all cost. He couldn't lose her. "You can train a dog with food. You can buy a person with money. "...I've never heard of him." Shinde was somewhat ill informed about other clan people. She didn't hang around with them that much. Though, as he gave the context of no mercy, and deadly challenges, she could guess. She took a deep breath as she gave a long and slow exhale. "I came into this line of work, knowing how dangerous it could be." Though, when he displayed his stance, she could only look on with a slight gaze of apprehension as she planned her next move. With it, she formed a half handseal, as she channeled chakra into her legs. "Here I come." Entering a blur of speed, she vanishes from sight, utilizing the Shunshin no Jutsu.

She moved far faster than she did before, and as she exits, she closes the distance, her arms held high as she swings hard, and outward in a frontal swing, aiming to lean inwards into the blow and strike upwards for his chest and neck. Kumo-Ryu! Omotegiri! For a veteran of conflict like Toshizou, he's probably seen this swing more than a few times before, and here his daughter was, attempting to use it against him in an attempt to either blitz, or strike him hard. Assuming he was to block or evade her initial strike, she immediately shifts her foot stance so it was more triangular, pulling her strike inwards as she followed its force, the tip resting near her waist as she sidesteps, and attempts to close the distance again from his left flank, attempting to slash horizontally with her longer weapon.

While she was still discovering and learning the intricacies of swordplay, she at least got much faster and better at the delivery of her blows. Her face was calm, as she tried to portray no emotion to her next move. No grimace, no flinches, attempting to hide any indication of what her target might be. To think he was only using a Kunai. One day, she might be skilled enough to actually force him to wield a blade. Though for now, this would have to do. There wasn't room for hesitation. No room for doubt, as she went full fledged into this bout of blade on blade.

DESCRIPTION:

By invigorating one's entire body with chakra, a shinobi can seemingly disappear and reappear in another location faster than most people can see. Often times one's movements are disguised with the use of an extra element, be it a smoke bomb, leaves, water, sand, etc. in order to hide the user's trajectory from those with skilled eyes. Though it mimics teleportation, it is important to remember this jutsu merely boosts the agility of its user. As useful as this technique is, it can only be used 4 times in a battle thread, compounding in exertion and difficulty each time. with any more usages beyond that result in muscle tears in the legs from overexertion. The hand seal for this technique must be held until the shinobi reaches their destination, making it impossible to utilize other techniques regardless of any preparation.

"He was a member of the same team as the Hyuuga heir and Wahei. And he died during the last exam. Because he underestimated his opponent. I do not want the same fate for you, hence why we need to train." he said, with a slightly concerned tone. Then, after his warning, Shinde used the Body Flicker Technique to move at quite the impressive speed. She had become much faster than before, and he was honestly surprised with her progress. As she came for his neck with a good kenjutsu technique, he quickly moved his kunai to block the attack with the jitte. It didn't take much effort from him, but he could see how her attack would be dangerous against other Genin, and for that he was satisfied. "Good one! You got fast." he praised her, cracking a smirk with the corner of his mouth. The follow up attack was creative and all, but he quickly stepped back, extremey fast reflexes. "That is a good start, but let's see what else you've got in there, girl!" he said, getting excited. This was new to him, watching his daughter, his own blood, grow before his eyes. He had lost many years with Azarea, and Tokaku, but at least with Iruhi, he got into her life while she was still rather young. He wanted to be there for her. "You can train a dog with food. SO that was it...She kept that in the recesses of her mind, especially as she intended to do better in this examination. She closed the distance, and with it, it became evidently clear that he still drastically surpassed her. So much so that he easily dodged her attempts at assault. If that was the case, then there was only one obvious answer. Wasn't there? She had to hit him with something that he wouldn't expect. Which was why as he stepped back, she instead weaves a singular handseal. Pouring chakra into her hair, suddenly, it rapidly and swiftly grows out in a mass of a dozen tendrils. Becoming fibrous and thick like steel. Shooting out in extending masses, as each of them contorted, to look like the mouths of lions in interlocking "teeth".

"Ranjishigami no Jutsu!" She calls out. As they rapidly dash inward towards him, looking to collide into the area where he just stood. Though...She wasn't done! Not yet. Forming one more seal, she channels her chakra again. A poof of smoke as a replication forms by her side. "Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!" A singular clone. Taking forth its own replicated Jitte and leaping atop the original Shinde's hair tendrils. Dashing upon them and towards Toshizou. Her father. Regardless if he dodged them, and or intercepted them, so long as they were still there, they flailed wildly, the clone using them as an extension of its environment to close the distance. "I've trained hard to reach this point!" She sought to show him militant prowess and growth that might astonish some. Having learned two high level techniques.

As the clone nears him, the hair dips at an angle, allowing them to have the highground as they swing downwards at Toshi, swapping to less powerful blows, and instead utilizing swifter swings, as the tendril moves the clone about, looking to force his attention, as the tendrils from before roar, looking to close on him from multiple flanks. This was Lion's Mane formation combo! Let's see if this change in pace might draw more effort from him.

NAME: Ranjishigami no Jutsu - [Wild Lion's Mane Technique]

DESCRIPTION:

Chakra poured into the user's hair will extend violently, reaching out like many dense tendrils of fibers. The hair, becoming hard and tough like steel, aims to ensnare and bind targets within thirty meters, their sharpened tips boring into their bodies as it seemingly stitches them while knotting around them. This works well to halt the movements of even massive beasts, not to mention halt several dozen shinboi at once. These tendrils are capable of shaping their ends into what appears to be a lion's mouth, filled with a maw filled with razor sharp iron-rending teeth. Hungry for blood, the beastly endings to these binding tendrils work to finish off whatever prey the user may have caught. With the amount of hair created on average, shinobi are typically able toe create up to twelve individual massed tendrils of hair.

DESCRIPTION:

The Kage Bunshin technique evenly distributes your chakra between one or more clones with form and substance.
The clones created by this technique are able to utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows, has all of their special abilities, as well as their kekkei genkai. Typically a clone's equipment doesn't retain any special abilities and the clone itself is dispersed when hit with a single attack or incapacitated, although the clone can also choose to disperse itself or be dispersed by the user.

When the clone finally disperses, any new knowledge it has gained along with it's remaining chakra are passed back to the original ninja and any additional clones.

DESCRIPTION:

An advanced genin level technique, it serves as a means to both enhance chakra control when mastered as well as a means to change one's advantages on the battlefield. By applying chakra to the soles of the feet, the shinobi gains the ability to walk and stand on vertical surfaces or even upside down.

SURPRISED WITH GROWTH Seemed like Iruhi had acquire more than just speed and ability with her weapon, she had also learned some interesting techniques, such as the Wild Lion's Mane Technique, which she tried to sue to ensnare Toshizou, but he moved too fast for her, getting out of the way and avoiding capture. "Interesting! That is a handy technique!" he said, with a smirk on her face, a sense of pride feeling up his chest, something that was still rather new to him; he had never truly been a real father before. But to his further surprise, that was not all: she was now able to use the shadow clone, a very advanced technique. The clone dashed in to attack, while the girl reiterated she had been training really hard. "I can see that." he said with a firm nod. As the clone leaped, however, Toshizou would leap back and throw the kunai at its core, relying on the fact that the shadow clone - while quite useful - was easily destroyed by even a small attack such as this. Still, as a way to show her respect for her progress, after he avoided the assault, he would draw his legendary blade, Kanesada, and assume the Tennen Rishin-ryu posture. The most wonderful part was that these techniques only required one handseal each. Truly, something marvelous to behold. Though, she saw as her clone dispelled, giving her a visage of what was going on past her mess of hair, the kunai tossed, clattering to the floor. How wily her father was. How swiftly he could move. Though...As he drew his proper sword? She seemed to pause for a moment. "A girl's hair is her life you know." She spoke in an almost singsongy voice, as if warning him not to even think about cutting her ashen locks. Though, she wasn't really all that serious. Instead? She looked at his defensive stance. Thought about the techniques in her arsenal, and with it, thought to get more creative.

Her hair tendrils pull back, and with it, dig sharply into the ground, ripping through dirt and soil, before suddenly ripping outwards, and throwing upon him large scoops and tosses of dirt. So much so that she was almost sure it'd be impossible to dodge, at least, without jumping, and with it, she looked to break his focus and stance with her obscuring tactic. It was like kicking dirt into someone's face. However, she took the opportunity to deliver onto him a tactic she tried before with a certain Hyuuga boy previously. "New and improved from my own ninja handbook!" She was eating through a good amount of chakra, but it was worth it to show him her effort. With the small cloud of uprooted dust and dirt helping her.

Falling back, she blitzes through a few handseals, and with it, her chest bursts upwards, exhaling a small gout of flame. "Katon: Hosenka no Jutsu!" Exhaling several flower petal shaped flames, she throws handfuls of Shuriken, accurately and swiftly into the flames at the same time, sinking into them and masking their presence, as she bites down, and begins tugging with her fingers. It looked as if she might be firing randomly into him, but she would look to tug and move her fingers ever so slightly. To cause the Shuriken covered flames to swerve and curl inwards with intersecting wires. With her enhanced speed, she'd gotten better reaction time, and she began to intersect several wires, looking to catch him in either the Shuriken assault, or the wrapping wires themselves.

NAME: Soushuriken no Jutsu - [Manipulate Shuriken Technique]

DESCRIPTION:

Wires attached to shuriken, be it during the use of this jutsu or prepared beforehand, can be manipulated with such sleight hand movements that the trajectory of the stars can be altered at any point in their flight. The spinning nature of the shuriken more than often distracts shinobi from the razor thin strings connecting them to their owner, making this an effective way to catch the opponent off guard.

"progress". "A man who can't uphold his beliefs is pathetic, dead or alive." HOW FAR YOU'VE COME Toshizou looked slightly confused when Iruhi said that a hair was a girl's life. "Is it now? Then you better take good care of it." he responded, giving her a smirk afterwards as he prepared to continue her training. Then, her hair strand threw dirt at him, which prompted Toshizou to leap away from it. Even though he could still fight without his eyes, he didn't want them to be hit by dirt; it was rather uncomfortable. But that seemed to be exactly what Iruhi wanted him to do. With him in the air, dodging was going to be much more complicated, and when she waived the hand seals he recognized, he chuckled lightly, feeling rather proud of how resourceful she had become. His sharp eyes could see the obfuscated shape of the shurikens within the fireball, and then, she had finally forced him to actually use one of his techniques. "Tennen Rishin-ryu, shi no kata... Mikage Ume!" he exclaimed, and while midair, he would throw several rotating sword slashes, deflecting the shurikens and erasing the fireballs with the sheer speed and power behind it, thus effectively blocking all of the incoming attacks with such a deadly precision it was beautiful to watch. After that, he landed on the ground. He had noticed the strings, and during his defence, he had cut through every single one of them, thus prompting her technique to fail. But he had acknowledged her skill. "I didn't expect you to force me to use my style. That was rather impressive." he told her, with a parental pride filling his chest. "You can train a dog with food. DESCRIPTION:
The user releases several rotating sword slashes that deflects incoming physical attacks coming from any direction. Using the white chakra blade properties to increase the range of the blade, the user can even deflect attacks that would normally escape the range of their blade. It's speed is the key to making this technique the traditional defence of this style.

Everything she tried. It seemed so distant. Though. The fact she'd made him move more than before? That was something. As her Shuriken were repelled, bounced and clanged away with the rotating motions, she found herself loosing the strings from her fingertips. Letting the wire drop, she seemed to blow through chakra. Jutsu after jutsu with little result. But she more or less showed him her mettle. What she was worth as a Kunoichi thus far. Still. It seemed as if she still had a long way to go. Though. He did say that she seemed prepared for the Chunin Exam. Or at least, she was at least prepared enough. All she needed to do was go into it with the proper mindset. That was something she was taking to heart. Truly. She took every moment like this to heart.

His movements seemed trained, robotic, as if that sword he held within his grasp was a direct part of him, and it was something that Iruhi was still learning. Her own swordsmanship was sloppy and immature, much like she was. For she was still finding her way in the ninja world. Still, she was progressing, and that was something. There was something special about the motions of his blade. There was something special in the style that he utilized. Yet, what was it he could do? What made a great swordsman? That was some lingering detail she tried to digest and discover for herself as she focused on him. Looked at him and saw his seeming pride. 

It made her take a deep breath to compose herself. What a man her father was. It made her want to aspire to be even greater, to bridge that cap between her and him even further. Despite the fact he was over twice her age with far more experience, she knew that if she worked hard, put in that effort, and began going through those experiences, she too could end up as a fabulous ninja. A Kunoichi that could perhaps even someday surpass him in order to accomplish the dream that they both shared. To be Hokage. She resumed her stance, and this time, she remained on the defensive, her cerulean eyes narrowed as she stared him down. She'd already given her best assaults, but it seemed as if it just wasn't good enough yet. Was it?

Iruhi had been proving herself and even though she already had the Hatake name, she needed more in order to become the true heiress of the clan. Putting his sword away, he would bit his thumb and then waive a few hand seals before slamming his hand on the ground. "Kuchyose no Jutsu!" he exclaimed as he summoned his contracted animal from their realm. From the place he had slammed his hand at, a miniature pug would appeared from the poof of smoke. The small dog wore a Leaf forehead protector and a blue jacket. On his mouth, he held a big scroll. "You are my heiress, Iruhi. But as a true member of the Hatake clan, you are entitled to sign our summoning contract." he started, grabbing the scroll from the dog. "For generations, we have been the guardians of the Dog Contract, and our faithful ninken allies have been supporting us since the dawn of our history. It is a great honour to join forces with them, and Pakkun is eager to be working with you in the future." he said, and the dog gave her a sagely nod. "That is true, Iruhi-chan." the dog said with a friendly tone. "So, are you ready to take on this responsibility?" Toshizou asked, as he opened the scroll, revealing all the names that had signed it before hand, including Toshizou, and his father before him. After Toshizou's name, however, there was another one: Uchiha Tokaku. "You can train a dog with food. You can buy a person with money. But there isn't a man alive that can put down the Will of Fire. Summoning jutsu. She heard of it, had seen Toshizo once before. Pakkun? As she froze, she looked upon him take the scroll from the dog, opening it upwards. To show the names that were lined along the scroll, and telling him of the contracts in this scroll. It was a great honor he said, to be able to summon, to work with them, to be able to call them by their side. Before long, she was asked if she was ready for the honor. Before looking upon it, and seeing the name signed within. Before she kneels. "If you think that I'm ready, that I'm worthy for the honor. I won't turn away. I've taken the family name. I've been putting in my best. I promise. I won't let you down." Though. She did come to pause, looking at the other name. Uchiha.

"Huh...Umm. Do we...share the contract out often to friends or something?" Iruhi asked, her face somewhat confused, though she proceeds to jokingly add, "Or are we related?" The comical hilarity of that question might have been a little ill placed. Considering Iruhi at the time in fact didn't realize that her father was apparently an infamous womanizer. Who had not one, or two, or even three bastards, but potentially many more. It was really surprising for her to see another name, especially before her, and especially the surname. She didn't know that many Uchiha clan members personally, but she figured they were pretty hard working. Really serious. Friendly and loving at times too. 

"Oh, and uhh. How's this jutsu work exactly? Do we need a pen?"

SIGNING THE CONTRACT At her statement that she was going to put her best effort and that she wouldn't let him down, he nodded, giving her a subtle smile to the girl. "I know. I believe in you." he said, with a firm and confident tone. But then, she noticed something: Tokaku's name on the scroll. And he didn't fail to perceive that. Shinde then asked if they were allowed to share the contract with their friends, he shook his head. Shinde looked confused for a moment, and then asked if they were related in a joking tone. Toshizou sighed and then nodded. "Well... About that... She is your sister." he admitted, not wanting to hide it from her. He didn't know how she would react to that, but he decided to just focus on the summoning contract for now. "To sign the contract, you need to use your own blood. You need to sign your name and then put your five finger prints there. Are you ready?" he asked of her, showing the finger he had bit to draw some blood in order to summon the dog. "It's not so bad, you get used to it, Shinde-chan." the dog tried to put her at ease. "You can train a dog with food. You can buy a person with money. But there isn't a man alive that can put down the Will of Fire. Some things will never change. There was of course more than a momentary pause when she heard his words. Tokaku Uchiha was her sister? She blinked, and with it, she seemed to process that information. "I see." That was all she said for the momentary, as she didn't want to think too much about that for a moment. She kept herself reserved and calm. "I'd hope to meet her." Honest words. Giving a small smile, she seemed to doubletake at the mention of using their own blood. "Ouch..." She slowly looks down at herself, and then back at Pakkun. The ability to summon dogs, ninja dogs at that for a bit of blood? That seemed worth it.

"Sign my name in blood huh?...Geeze. This is gonna be difficult to do. There's a lot of strokes in my name." She joked, before she raised her thumb to her lip. Crunch. She winced slightly at the pain, probably meaning she was doing this wrong, some sort of technique to the chomp to give it less pain. She swiftly lowers her thumb to the scroll and draws it forth. Hatake. Shinde. Thus brings another Hatake signature into the dog summoning contract. A record she had existed. A hopefully life long partnership that would last forever. So was the hope anyways. It took a moment or two, and with it, she smears her fingertips in blood, before resting her metaphorical pawprint down.

"Al-right..." She says with a brief pause, slowly lifting her fingers off the parchment. "...Is that it?" She asks, wondering if that was what it took to get access to a brand new repertoire of aid. It almost seemed sinfully easy. "Also...Thank you for coming Pakkun. For helping explaining everything. Or being a sample in this case."

SUMMONING TECHNIQUE When Shinde brought up the possibility of meeting her older half-sister, Uchiha Tokaku, Toshizou would give her a half-smile and nod. "We can do that after the Chuunin Exams, right now both of you need to focus on the exams. They are dangerous enough." he emphasised, focusing once again on the signature of the contract. The girl would then mention that there was a lot of strokes in her name and he nodded. "Fair enough. Fortunately, you only have to sign it once." he said, reassuring the girl this was not going to be something she would have to do every time she used the technique. Once she finished signing the contract, the letters would glow in a faint hue of blue for a brief second, and the scroll would quickly wrap itself and return to Pakkun. "Welcome to the pack, Shinde-chan. I will see you soon!" Pakkun said in a rather friendly tone before vanishing in a poof of smoke with the contract. Then, Toshizou would address her question. "Now all you need to do is to train the summoning technique so you can actually call them when you need. Do you know the hand seals for it?" he wondered, rubbing his chin with his index and thumb.
