If one put one's ear to the ground, there were a lot of rumours floating around about Sho. Some argued he was a plant from another village because he manifested an ability supposedly impossible from those who were from Kumo, some people said he was some sort of divine gift from the kami, yet other people said he was a failure as a ninja as he walked away from the career rather than stick at it. There were many, many rumours, and most of them contradicted with each other.
Still, if Hana cared not for such things, she likely would have heard none of it, as said rumours ran in circles she likely did not.
Instead, ignoring all else, the pair were here in the here and now. Sho had come early, and Hana was arriving late, and in quite strange dress. Sho stared at her for a moment in slight confusion, not in the way that one might if they were perving over her, sizing up her dress and body like some sort of hungry animal, but rather in the way of a doctor. A man whose very job it was to keep them safe, and happy, and alive.
They were travelling across great swathes of land and doing so at a pace to avoid people finding them unduly. He imagined what she was wearing was comfortable, but he wondered just how well a kimono would hold up against a determined enemy. It may even backfire, limiting one's freedom of movement and increasing one's likelihood to get hurt.
As a doctor, it seemed his obligation to say something.
He should have no problem bringing up such issues, they were the same rank and most importantly they were teammates. Yet, for some reason, he found the words choked in his throat, refused to come out, denied his will as a doctor and simply stuck in his throat like a turgid lump.
"You're right, we need to move, and sooner rather than later. The longer we spend just sitting around here, the more we make our client wait." Sho finally said, deciding at least for now to put aside his teammate's bizarre choice in fashion and move on with their work.
With that, he turned like a dime, before beginning to walk forwards. He didn't dash, didn't use body flicker, didn't run - there was no need to. They had plenty of time and getting there soon would be enough. After all, at this point it was little more than good business sense and a desire to maintain a strong relationship that made them go immediately. Technically they had plenty of time to get to the rendezvous, but the earlier they could show up the more they would seem professional.
Still, it was hard to tell what first impression he was giving to the fox girl. No comment on her outfit, no leering over her dress like she had clearly intended, immediate professionalism and choosing to prioritise getting their mission started over a proper meet and greet. He hadn't even answered her initial question about whether he was ready or not, though that was mainly because he had mistaken it for a hypothetical question.
Whatever the case, it was clear that this one was far different from teammates she had worked with before.
As they walked, Sho decided to alleviate some of the tension and shoot a lowball question to his colleague, something to make it seem like he was at least making an effort to be social.
"So... How many times have you been on missions like this, Hana-senpai?" He didn't tend to use honorifics, but if this girl was fond of them, he would make sure to amend his speech just once.
"You have far more experience in the field than I do, so I was wondering if there was anything you would like me to learn from you whilst we're working?"
