Greetings

Leaning against the village gate Azarea awaited her mission partner and former escort Zakku. The woman looking a sight better after a bit of clean up and purchase of appropriate clothing for the dry desert conditions. Her thick red leather jacket and heavy hood traded out for a loose red fabric wrap to cover her head, upper torso, and shoulders akin to the ones worn by most Suna inhabitants. A set of goggles set firmly over her face as the last thing she wanted to deal with was burrowing down into the sand and getting the grit into her scarlet eyes. Her mission pack strapped tight against her back to prevent any sort of jostling or interference as the woman tugged her wrap a bit higher up her face to keep the sun off her still burned cheeks as she glanced around for her companion for the mission.

"Zakku-san!" She calls out when she spots him. Lifting a hand to wave the chuunin over as she smiles behind the cloth the expression carrying over in the way she crinkled her eyes. "Are you ready to depart? Looks like we're being sent up into the mountains behind Sunagakura no Sato." Azarea quips as she pulls out their mission scroll double checking it once more. "I'm actually well prepared for poisons so you needn't worry about me with the bad air. I shouldn't slow you down any." She adds hoping to reassure the chuunin. She was after all despite her age of lower rank and the man must be questioning her capabilities if she hadn't ascended to the promotional ladder after so long, but that was a story for a later time. Perhaps during their run should he ask.

Unlocking the Kagura's Mind's Eye, and with it, the ability to passively sense chakra signatures in the distance (when using the technique), thus allowing her to not only track, but also memorize a person's chakra signature, even if barely any chakra is being used. Due to her proficiency with this technique, Azarea can currently passively sense chakra up to 500 meters and actively at 2.5 kilometers.

Zakku approached the gates finishing his blunt.  Taking a long inhale he waved back to his mission partner and tucked the remains of his smoke into his pouch.  "Yeah i'm ready, they even gave me a new mask to use."  Zakku tapped the gas mask at his waist.  It still had the tag on it showing he'd stolen it from the equipment room.  Nothing new for Zakku. 

"I'm glad you know what to do with poisons.  I used to rely on an old friend for that stuff.  So if anything I'm gonna be slowing you down."  Zakku briefly wondered where Rin was but came back to reality quickly remembering he had a job to do.  He'd lead her out of the village and towards the mountains. 

After they'd gotten a bit away he'd turn to look at Azarea.  "Can I ask you something?  Why are you still a Genin if you don't mind me asking.  I was stuck as a genin for awhile but that was because me and my team stole our sensei Sake and tagged the chunin exams arena.  Lord Kage was really upset about that one."  He chuckled at the memory.  It felt like it was yesterday but it was years ago.  The Kage still reminded him about it every time he asks to be trusted.

Misfortune

"That's good then. I can't use poisons yet, but I've got a gasmask and secondary air tank so I won't be running out of air anytime soon. Not to mention there's not a lot of skin for contact poisons to effect me," She explains gesturing to the fact she's done up from nearly head to toe from her closed toe boots, to her coveralls, to her headcovering and gloves. Even the zipper she'd allowed to ride a bit low before in the heat showing off the nasty scars that criss crossed her throat and torso in addition to the peak of cleavage had been pulled up to her chin. The two of them setting a steady pace as they head for the mountains Azarea staying just a step behind and to the left of Zakku so as to cover his back while he lead. His question catching her a touch off-guard as the woman makes a soft thoughtful 'ah' sound in the back of her throat.

"You've heard of the Kumo Plague yes?" She murmured for very few hadn't given most nations had been quick to back away and cut off contact for fear of the diseases spread. "I was lucky enough to have a mentor to look after me and get me a desk job to make ends meet, but I was sickened very badly early into my career before I could make chuunin. It's taken me a very long time to recover and return to active duty." Azarea explains with a grimacing awkward little smile, but a not unkind one.

"Given my goals within my village the Raikage wants to ensure I've returned to peak health and can handle the variety of conditions my work might throw at me so I've been cleared to assist with joint missions like this to build up village relations." She adds with a loose little shrug as if to say 'what can you do?'

"By the way while I don't think we're expecting combat on this job if you don't mind me asking what is your specialty? I'm more a mid to long range fighter and I specialize in genjutsu and ambush tactics." Azarea inquires while offering a little info on herself in turn to show she wasn't simply trolling for unwarranted information.

He'd heard about he plaque and was secretly glad nothing like that had happened here yet.  So she was sent here to help prove she was back to ready.  It'd make sense for her to be sent to the harsh desert to test her skills.  Especially after recovering from the plaque.  "I'm more of a trapper.  I stay back until i've secured a way to stop and end a fight.  I use my lightning jutsu's to stun and kill."  His mouth twitched upwards slightly at the word kill.  

"I've been sent on quite a few rescue missions.  From saving a missing member of the Kyojojitsu clan to finding merchants lost out in the desert."  Pulling his sleeve up he's show her the numerous tiny scar that used to be slices and cuts from hummingbird style puppets.  "I got attacked by puppets that used sharp blades as beaks to attack.  I fried them all letting them close enough to slice me.  It was reckless but it wasn't worried I had the perfect shot to use the last of my chakra to take out the puppets and their master."  He was also still reckless with his chakra back then as well.  His palms were still scarred from gathering his chakra and not protecting his skin from his own Raiton. 

Pulling his sleeve back down he flexed his fingers.  "Did you normally get sent on these types of missions?"  He asked curiously.  His eyes turned to the approaching mountains he felt a soft shiver go up his spine.  He wasn't a fan of the mountains or their small ledges but that never stopped him.

"If you prefer trapping and long range then I'll stay mid-range and try to by you time and keep enemies off of you then if we get into any sort of combat." Azarea strategizes offering Zakku a small encouraging smirk, "But it sounds like you can handle yourself well in a fight. I've never fought a puppet user before so I'm afraid I won't have much experience against them. Maybe one would be willing to spar with me here in Suna so I can learn." She muses with a thoughtful hum as they come to the beginnings of the foothills the woman not even thinking to pause as she channels chakra into the soles of her feet and just walks straight up the mountain face as if it was solid flat ground. Than again compared to Kumo's treacherous peaks these low laying mountains weren't all that intimidating.

"Ah do you mean resource gathering missions?" The Kunoichi inquires not entirely understanding Zakku's question as she reaches back scratching idly and somewhat awkwardly at the back of her head, "I've been sent on them before, but mostly I tend to be reserved for sabotage, tracking, capture, and kill missions. I've hunted a lot of bandits and pirates." She explains knowing well that among the greener shinobi she had a bit more of a stomach for the dirty work, but it wasn't exactly a fact she was proud of.

"Though they probably paired us together cause they thought my doton nature would be useful underground in the cave network we're searching for. Since in case of a collapse I'm well equipped." And if there was ground water her techniques were quite deadly.

Aburame Azarea

"That's a strong possibility."  Zakku admitted with a nod.  The thought of being caved in and being trapped underground was a terrifying thought.  The cold icy touch of fear ran down his spine. "I'm glad you're with me then even more then."  Between the poison and the chance of cave ins Zakku was starting top wonder if bandits wouldn't be a much more welcome scenario.  At least with bandits he knew what to expect.

As the pair approached the cave entrance Zakku's green eyes scanned the opening.  Taking his gas mask off his waist he'd attach the air filter and made sure it was secured and air tight.  "I can take care of the light once it gets darker in there."  Pulling out two of his metal stakes he showed Azarea by making a quick spark of lightning arc between the two making a makeshift light.  "It's a neat trick.  Though after a few hours my hands start to go numb."  Taking a quick drink from his canteen he reattached it to his belt.  Pulling the mask on over his face Zakku pulled the straps tight and secured it.  The filtered air feeling cold as it touched his mouth and nose.  "Ready when you are Red."  His covered voice came through the mask along with the soft sucking and blowing of his breath from it.

Into The Depths

She can understand Zakku's trepidation. Even now the screams and agony from the landslide are still burned into her minds eyes. hundreds of individuals entombed alive and the air thick with choking seething pain and fear. It was an awful way to die and though her chakra nature makes it a death unlikely to be her end it's all to easy to imagine what would happen had she not been born earth natured. "Don't worry. Just stick close." She assures him.

The Kumo nin takes a long sip of her own canteen wetting her throat, the dry air irritating the slight prickle at the back of it leftover from her injuries. Before the woman digs out her own gasmask and straps it on alongside her goggles before grabbing the line to her air tank and hooking it to the valve attached to the piece of equipment. Ensuring that even if her filter began to become dangerously filty she could always swap to canned air. Not the best solution, but it'd buy them time.

"That is a pretty neat trick." She admits eyelashes dusting her cheeks as she squints at the bright light. Stealth would be unlikely, but they were hear for the herbs not to get into a fight so it should be fine. As the woman pulled out a few bags she'd brought to fill with the requested medical plants before entering the cave. "Ready as I'll ever be." The Kumo nin murmured as the pair entered into the tunnel following the sloping jagged path down... down... down... into the depths.

Aburame Azarea

Zakku nodded and moved into the cave.  He could feel the humidity grow the further they went.  Along with the depleting natural light.  The blue glow that illuminated their way was a soft reassurance to the blue haired chunin.  After a bit of walking Zakku spotted some bioluminescent fungi.  Stopping his light he'd point to the fungus now lighting their way through the tunnel.  "Kinda like entering a portal to another world huh?"  He asked making sure not to step on any of the fungus that lit their way.  From the way the fungus were arranged he expected them to round a corner and enter a new realm.  Tree's with odd colors, mythical creatures, A dude in a long beard being a dick and immediately giving you a quest instead of welcoming you to the land.  Basic fantasy story things.

"You ever seen anything like this before?"  He'd only seen the plants inside the greenhouse back at the village.  He had no idea something so cool was hidden in the mountains not that far from his village.  "I think they work off each other making a tiny ecosystem."  Admiring how they worked in tandem Zakku tapped the side of his leg.  He wanted to grab the fungus to keep at home but he couldn't trust himself not to bring home poison with it.

Caution

The bioluminescent fungi was beautiful was beautiful with it's soft blue green glow as Azarea paused leaning close to inspect it for a moment. "I don't think this is poisonous, but I don't know if it would survive being brought out of this cave. Like you said this is akin to another world down here." An admittedly pretty one. The rocks cool and condensation forming along them that likely fed the fungi's growth and the growth of the plants they'd been sent in to collect.

"There must be an underground spring somewhere deeper in or we're getting close to the ground water." Azarea mused the woman glancing over their surroundings until... something pinged at the edges of her senses. The woman's brow furrowing in confusion as she detects chakra. Well trained chakra at that rather then the nebulous coils of simple civilians or bandits. "Zakku? Were teams other then us sent out here to gather these medical herbs?" She questions casting an inquiring glance towards her companion.

"Because I'm picking up what I think is another shinobi deeper in." The Kumo nin adds her hand moving to rest lightly on her weapons pouch muscles tensing with caution uncertain whether to expect friend or foe within these depths.

Aburame Azarea

An underwater spring would be cool to see.  Hidden from the influence of the outside world and thriving.  It'd be quite the sight for the Shinobi.  Standing straight Zakku could feel the hair on the back of his neck stand up as Azarea asked him about other teams.  "No other teams are meant to come here unless we haven't reported back in thirteen more hours."  Gripping his metal stakes tightly he advanced listening for anything besides his own breathing inside his mask.  Then he heard it.  Someone was speaking further in.  Clicking his tongue inside his mask he couldn't make out what they were saying.  They had to get closer for that.

Crushed fungus began to reveal foot prints that weren't there as if someone didn't care about being caught anymore.  After all who would be dumb enough to go this deep into the cave?  They were.  Zakku stopped by a broken lantern as if some one had accidentally dropped it while searching for something.  "Guess there wasn't enough light for what they needed to see."  Zakku mused just loud enough for Azarea to hear.  Leaving it there he continued moving further in as the voice got louder but he still couldn't make out what was being said.

Enemies

The Kumo nin shared a glance with Zakku as they began to creep closer. Neither could yet make out what the man, for it was at least a male voice, was saying. Yet as they moved forward it was clear he was not alone. "I'm picking up two more. I think also shinobi or at least trained from their chakra." Azarea whispers her voice soft.

"I'll hide and see if I can circle around them if they spot us." She murmurs carefully forming a seal as chakra washes over hr. The genjutsu snaring the senses of anyone who sees her as the woman appears to flicker out of sight as if she had never been there to begin with. The tunnel ahead of them widening as it slopes downward and slowly it becomes apparent why they are having difficulty picking up the man's words as the sound of running water echoes off the stones. The tunnel opening up to a large underground river, the plants they needed dotting the banks of it as a large masked shinobi shouted at two others that were busy racing around ripping up the vegetation that Zakku and her were supposed to procure. At this rate there wouldn't be enough for them to bring back and worse... there wouldn't be enough to repopulate the area for future teams to harvest.

DESCRIPTION:
This jutsu while not being able to be used offensively can make many jobs much more simple. This technique causes all other people who can see the user's handseal to not notice them. Meaning that when someone is using this technique people will subconsciously not take notice of them, the affected person(s) eyes looking around or right past them. Even in combat this can be a useful technique, as long as the user holds the seal the opponent will find it impossible to bring any focus on the user from their five main senses.

A technique meant for assassinations and infiltrations, its only true drawback is the small amount of chakra required to maintain it and the fact that the user must hold the seal while using it, making them unable to use other techniques. This technique however does not stop the target(s) from utilizing additional senses from detecting them. This including, but not limited to sensor shinobi.

Aburame Azarea

"How are you gonna do tha-oh."  Zakku watched her disappear from sight.   She really was just full of surprises.  Touching the spot Azarea was to make sure she was actually gone he moved on towards the voices.  With one watching over the other two Zakku knew what he had to do.  Making his way towards the shinobi who watched over the others Zakku reached into his pack.

"Quit yet whining and keep grabbin.  The sooner we deliver this to the buyer the sooner we get paid."  The head shinobi commanded his subordinates.  "Hey you get down 'ere off ya high horse and help us!"  One of them called back.  He shook his bag at the man who waved him off.  "Enough just keep grabbin!"  He called back and fidgeted with his mask clearly uncomfortable with it.  

Moving up from behind the man Zakku wondered how he should do it.  Normally he'd just zap and go but he didn't want to make thinks too chaotic for Azarea.  So subtle and quiet it was.  Pulling out one of his kunai the blue haired shinobi waited for his moment.  Like a predator ready to strike he had found his prey and held ever intention of getting it.

Ambush Predator

Circling around the three shinobi to put the underground river at her back Azarea moving low and slow her eyes calculating the movements of their three opponents as she considered what techniques would least risk damaging the precious flora they'd been sent to collect. Settling on her jutsu of choice she smiled. The woman dropping her Tairai Joukei no Jutsu technique the movement catching the eyes of the three shinobi as they glanced up, but she was already flying through the seals. As a darting blade of ground water from Suiton: Kageōda (Water Release: Shadow Strike) lancing through the earth and impale one of the three shinobi straight up through the leg and exiting out of his knee. The man going down with a scream as the Kumo genin used her seals to snag the enemies in yet another genjutsu. This one an illusion that she had disappeared in a swirl of sand akin to a shunshin with Nise no Sōkō [False Traveling]. The Kumo nin gone as quickly as she had appeared like a ghost in the night. The men searching desperate for where their opponent could have disappeared to giving Zakku the perfect opening.

The plants stuffed within the bags having been dropped and their gathering forgotten as the one shinobi rolled on the ground screaming in a pool of his own blood. He leg rendered utterly useless. Once the numbers were whittled down Zakku and her would need to determine whether to keep him alive for questioning or finish the man off, but for the moment he appeared to be no threat unlike the other two.

Joō no Taikanshiki no Regaria [Queen's Coronation Regalia]
A mutated variant of the Aburame clans Yūdai no Omorejō ["Bewildering Grandeur of the Alpha"] resulting from the subsequent poisoning of Azarea's former Yūdai no Omorejō hive to prevent potential hijutsu theft. While the Joō no Taikanshiki no Regaria lacks the Yūdai no Omorejō size instead Azarea's hive has maintained the ability to produce alpha pheromones and commanding vibrations. Evolving instead to hyperspecialize in these two aspects allowing them to produce pheramones and vibrations strong enough to be detected by human hearing and sense of smell.

Reigning Chakra Control
Fine tuning her chakra control to a razor's edge Azarea is capable of performing delicate techniques with minimal to no wastage of chakra. Allowing her to conserve her reserves in prolonged combat and managed more finickity techniques and jutsu.

Kagura Mind's Eye
Born with a natural affinity towards sensing chakra like her Father before her Azarea has trained herself to become a capable sensory shinobi. Unlocking the Kagura's Mind's Eye, and with it, the ability to passively sense chakra signatures in the distance (when using the technique), thus allowing her to not only track, but also memorize a person's chakra signature, even if barely any chakra is being used. Due to her proficiency with this technique, Azarea can currently passively sense chakra up to 500 meters and actively at 2.5 kilometers.

DESCRIPTION:
This jutsu while not being able to be used offensively can make many jobs much more simple. This technique causes all other people who can see the user's handseal to not notice them. Meaning that when someone is using this technique people will subconsciously not take notice of them, the affected person(s) eyes looking around or right past them. Even in combat this can be a useful technique, as long as the user holds the seal the opponent will find it impossible to bring any focus on the user from their five main senses.

A technique meant for assassinations and infiltrations, its only true drawback is the small amount of chakra required to maintain it and the fact that the user must hold the seal while using it, making them unable to use other techniques. This technique however does not stop the target(s) from utilizing additional senses from detecting them. This including, but not limited to sensor shinobi.

Mixing their chakra with the water present in the earth, the user creates a small katana-like blade beneath the surface and causes it to extend upwards from beneath the target at the speed of a kunai. The blade can extent indefinitely, however it cannot move from it's original trajectory.

DESCRIPTION:
Upon the target(s) seeing the user render a handseal, a substance of their choosing (sand, leaves, etc.) will quickly swirls around the user before they disappear. Unlike the technique this illusion is meant to imitate, the user will not travel anywhere and instead will simply vanish from the target(s) vision. This, in turn, could allow for the user to escape or to launch a surprise attack.

Aburame Azarea

Smiling as the first man screamed Zakku knew it was time to act.  Making a single handsign he called forth his favorite jutsu.  Lightning arced from his hand and created a wolf made of lightning.  Effectionately named Raiden by Zakku he has grown attached to the false beast. The Shinobi slowly turned to face the blue haired shinobi.  He couldn't see Zakku but he had a wicked grin under his mask.  "Lightning Beast Running Technique.  Sick em."  Raiden roared and electrified roar and charged the man who could only stare as Raiden quickly and easily closed the distance.

With a loud ZAP the shinobi was thrown from his perch to the ground with his other two friends.  "Now i'm not the person who asks twice."  Zakku called out as he dropped down landing on his feet unlike the shinobi who laid at his feet unconscious.  "It wastes my time it wastes yours so it's best we just go on our ways."  Addressing the last man standing and the man missing part of his leg he grabbed the unconscious mans face and ripped his mask off exposing him to the poisonous air.  "And trust me.  You're really going to want me to go my separate ways from you."  Tossing the mask away he approached the men his green eyes piercing as he glared at the two men.

Raijū Hashiri no Jutsu [Lightning Beast Running Technique]
After a single handseal Raiton chakra is sent to the user's hand. The user then makes lightning expand into the form of a hound or wolf, and remains connected to it by a chain of lighting. The user can make the beast go as far as thirty five meters before the user's direct control of it from such a distance starts to strain the user's chakra pool. This jutsu's deadliness stems from its unpredictability, though if the opponent is struck by the wolf, one will find their body rocked with a powerful charge of lightning, enough to throw a them off their feet and incapacitated.

Cave In!

The first nin was in no condition to be shocked over the sudden 'death' of his companion, but the lone remaining one stared at Zakku with wide eyes. The man scraping up the dregs of his courage as he bared his teeth behind his gasmask trying to hide the slightly shocked tremble to his limbs as he found himself the lone man standing.

"Don't get too cocky kid~ You're not out of danger yet!" The one remaining shinobi barked out gruffly as he leapt back flashing through a set of handseals as he slammed his foot down onto the floor. Sending a massive jagged ravine opening up beneath Zakku that would begin to rapidly fill with water from the underground river. However his jutsu resulted in perhaps more then that nin intended as the cave began to shake destabilized by the sudden chasm as chunks of the ceiling began to collapse down and inwards. One of them catching the startled nin as he went down half buried beneath the rock.

"Zakku to me!" Azarea yelled out dashing forward as she grabbed one of the bags of plants the other team had dropped seeking to meet her partner half way. The Kumo nin already funneling chakra through her coils as she ducked and weaved. Her training with falling stalagmites in Kumogakure's caves coming in handy now as she mentally thanked Arashi-san. The woman dropping to her knees the moment Zakku would hopefully reach her to slam her hands down on the surface of the floor as a wall of earth curved over them forming a makeshift barrier between them and the falling rock coming down around their ears.

The defense is not perfect though, a hard or drilling impact can puncture the wall. Physical contact with the wall must be held until it is standing upright.
