After talking to Uemon a few days ago in regards to the matter of the mission she needed to accomplish the girl the girl had stated that so far it was only the two of them on the mission, that wasn’t always the truth before that there was one other but due to them getting wrapped up in her own work the girl was at square one. She had it all figured out, a small team and a quick infiltration not ideal but it was at least a start. She had attempted several other methods to try and build up a team but lately hasn't had very much luck with recruiting allies otherwise outside of Muramasa, and was reluctant to follow up on the one she had currently planned on taking into consideration. Taking on information from an outside source.

The outside source in question was an organization called Shakar she had meant to follow up on it earlier but was confident in her ability to do without but kept it on standby in case she needed it. But even though the information she got came from a trusted source she was still a little confused, why use mercenaries when you’ve got a strong shinobi force at your back? And if you need someone to clean up a mess isn’t that why the ANBU exists? Or was this just another way the ANBU did their jobs, was this person secretly an ANBU member themselves going by a code name? The shinobi world truly was a strange place. Taki never really wanted things to come to this particular point but she didn’t have many options left and probably should've used it earlier since it was more consistent but she needed to stop being a kid and start acting like a Jounin.

She had the information for some time, months in fact and while she did open it she wanted to consider other options first before resorting to something so underhanded, she wanted to get her uncle and was willing to do pretty much anything except put her family at risk, and while it seemed as thought the village could trust this organization called Shakar, something about them told her to not do so. She was willing to work with anyone and do anything from kidnapping to murder but drew the line at collateral damage that could come back to bite her later and she was sorely hoping she was wrong but she was paranoid and it was starting to get the better of her.

But now left with nothing but desperation she was at the bottom of the barrel. The woman she was looking for was one Ryuujin Shiina. The image she had of her was one of a woman with the sides of her head shaved and dark skin with brightly colored hair and a penchant for the color purple by the looks of things. Taki had been tracking this woman for days but wasn't sure why she seemed to always be so elusive. Every time she had gotten a lead the woman would suddenly vanish. How could she have been so hard to find? Maybe that was a good thing another infiltrator my make this task that much easier to accomplish. But her constant evasion made her wonder if maybe the girl had something to hide.

The next spot she was heading too was a bar located in bird country, Taki hated these places not because she didn’t like to drink but because she was never able to amble on inside and always had to put on a disguise, she was never the best when it came to stealth but knew how to make it work if she needed too. Dipping into a alleyway after blending into a crowd the girl would craft herself a rather simple disguise lengthening her shortly cut hair and dyeing it's color from blonde to brown.

Doing away with her leather jacket and trading it in for a red dress and corset, even going one step further to change her eye color and tone of voice. Her transformation from Okada to that of a typical a ditzy looking rich girl. And while she was already a wealthy girl in her own right she certainly wasn't anything like those high society types, it reminded her of those putzes from the Ivory line that she hated so much. The Ivory Liners were the pompous denizens of one of one of Tsuchi no Kuni's wealthiest cities who wouldn't pay her family a dime to come see one of their shows and were given the name based on the neighborhood they resided in. And while she didn't like it if she was going to catch up with her she’d have to keep at it, trying a disguise didn’t work the last two times she attempted it, so here’s hoping third times the charm. On her left hand was a small seal inside was everything she needed to hopefully persuade this evasive shinobi over to her side. The interior of the bar itself was on the smaller side not too many patrons but there was a set of stairs that led upstairs to a much more private and spacious area that anyone could enter for the right money of course.

Taki has also increased the amount of weight she is able to lift by a massive margin in a way that makes her an even more fearsome taijutsu practitioner than before.

She hadn't been chased after for a long time.

In fact, it had been so long that one could tell that some of her sharp instincts she had inherited from always being on the run when she first became a neukenin needed some sharpening. And so perhaps she should be grateful that she had felt some presence of sorts tailing her the past few days. Despite her seamless ability to go unnoticed because of her innate instincts, Shiina couldn't help but wonder who it was that was so persistent. Could it be a Kumogakure shinobi? If so, they seemed to be at least strong, in regards to their ability to keep up with her. In some situations over the past few days, the woman had given whoever was chasing her the run for their money, but not without being in tight spots herself. She was always wearing a disguise, of course, which came with the nature of being a neukenin, and she had to use her many connections in the non-shinobi villages to help her out.

Who could it be?

The purple-haired woman now found herself in the Bird Country. She had visited this place a few days throughout the years, establishing connections near and far with diplomats, ryokan owners and other people alike so as to be able to use these connections one day. She didn't realize that this day would come so quickly, slipping into a back alley in a small village to once again change attire. Replacing her usual black dress and high-heeled boots, she changed a purple and gold silk kimono with a gold sash. This was her go-to attire for when she visited expensive or high-class places. The woman had a ryokan in mind that she wanted to stay at, run by one of her many connections in the country. The owner owed her a favor since the last time she had traveled to the lands, involving catching some thief that turned out to be an old ryokan employee.

She needed a place to stay, and if she could even entertain the fact that it could be for free, she was all for it.

Stepping out back onto the streets, she felt the aura that made her stop in her steps. Was it the same person that had been chasing her relentlessly? How in the world did they had travelled to the Bird Country? Shiina clicked her tongue in obvious annoyance, although she merely continued to walk down the streets. If the person was really after her head, they would certainly show themselves. For now though, she was going to simply wait for that time to come. There was no need to entertain something or someone who wouldn't have the decency to show themselves to the one they were tailing, after all. She continued down the street until the familiar ryokan building was within her line of sight.

This place was unlike any other ryokan, hosting only the most important and wealthy of people. If the owner hadn't previously owed her a favor, she doubt that even her whole year's of savings could last a week here. As she walked into the establishment, the old woman behind the reception counter immediately smiled brightly, recognizing the young woman. "Ran-san! It's been such a long time! What brings you here?" Shiina explained that she was traveling and remembered that there was a ryokan that had one of the best hot spring facilities. Beaming from ear to ear, the woman immediately beckoned two other younger women to take Shiina's belongings. "You are too kind to grace our ryokan with your presence. In any case, I'll have a room ready for you and of course, your lodgings will be on me. Please feel free to stay for however long you wish!"

As Taki entered inside with her disguise she’d overhear a conversation between what she assumed was one of the owners and a woman who looked to have some very distinct qualities to her the hair was rather bright and she had dark skin like her target, up to this point she hadn’t even laid eyes on her and was only going off of information she was given by her source. But as she did so, she’d look to the image that she had on her person briefly as she took a seat at one of the booths in the building. Reading over the information and matching it to the person some of seemed right but a lot of it seemed off, her hair was supposed to be shaved on one side, but the hair color did match and the penchant for the color purple was also present? Was this her? Only time would tell she waited to see what would happen next.

Their conversation wasn’t exactly loud so she wasn’t able to hear all that much from her vantage point especially with other patrons inside. But it looked as thought two younger women would be taking her belongings. It looked like this place was going to be her permanent residence, hopefully however her sensory wasn’t active. Taki didn’t know it, but it was the girls ability to detect her chakra that gave her away, with the large reserves she had it made her presence rather obvious but if this was her and she tried to run with Taki being so close she had no where to go. As everything finished she had pulled aside one of the staff at the restaurant looking to him, "Excuse me sir…just whom might that be?” the girl would say putting on a posh accent in order to keep up appearance with a grating and strong accent like her natural one it'd be easy to decipher who she really was.

"Ahh, her name is Ran-san she’s an old friend of the bar owner.” the man would remark, this would prompt a wry grin on her face making it seem as thought she found the woman enticing. "Ahh, I see…could you send her my regards.” the girl would say she’d seen old tapes on stories about things like this where a man would send rice wine "Sake” to a woman as a gift to get her attention. "Direct her towards me.” she would say as she slipped the older worker some large bills of Ryo. "Right away miss.” the girl would give the man a smile as he went away hoping that she could persuade her into a conversation or perhaps even get her to run, either way she had her now and she wasn’t going to blow this opportunity.

Shiina watched as the workers in the ryokan took her belongings upstairs, smiling and nodding to the owner of the ryokan. She sensed a presence, sensed someone staring. But the woman would play it off, choosing not to acknowledge this as their conversation continued. There were too many people here, she mused, too many to cause a scene. Of course, she was naturally under the impression that the person who had been chasing her was out for her head. Despite not feeling a threat for so many years as a neukenin, her senses to possible danger never needed sharpening. "You are most kind, Kosaka-san...." she smiled at the owner, who then ushered her upstairs. From her memory, all of the rooms in this establishment had a specific theme, matching the name of the rooms. As it was a highly sophisticated place, she expected nothing but the utmost extravagance. She reminded herself harshly that she was only allowed to stay here because of the owner, and that had it been up to her and her wallet, she would probably be sleeping in a forest that night.

"Here you are, this is Take, the room themed after bamboo. I seem to recall you love bamboo trees."

The purple-haired woman smiled and nodded, flattered that the owner of the ryokan remembered her tastes. Her golden-brown hues rested on the tall bamboo plant standing outside the room, and could smell the wonderful tatami smells the moment the owner opened the sliding door that revealed her lodgings for the next few nights. Shiina did indeed love bamboo, the thought of being surrounded by bamboo trees was like a power spot for her. It provided her with calmness and tranquility, two things that this hectic world and lifestyle could never give. "Please enjoy your stay. There is a private hot spring inside the room as well as a public one for all guests to enjoy on the lower level of this building. Your food will be brought to you in a couple of hours." Again she thanked the owner, and was left on her own while she retreated.

Don't get too comfortable...

Shiina reminded herself of the person that had been downstairs. As she hadn't been able to catch a good look at them, she was unsure who it was that was staring at her. The way the stare felt was unlike the appreciative and infatuated looks men often gave her when she entered a building. No...it was definitely something else. The woman sat down on one of the chairs when a knock on the door interrupted her thoughts. The door opened to reveal a hostess, bringing in a bottle of sake. "This is from a patron from downstairs..." Before the girl could place the sake bottle on the table though, Shiina's hand flew to the woman's arm, stopping her movement.

"Please send it back. I don't accept gifts from those I have never met before." Taken aback by the woman's words, the girl complied, although she couldn't mask the thoughts that were running through her mind. Indeed, it was very rare for a woman to flat-out refuse a gift, especially some sake.

The girl would wait for a moment to see what would become of the gesture she had offered only to see the servant return to her with the bottle of sake returning it to her. "My apologies but she says she won’t accept anything from someone she doesn’t know.” hearing this Taki had become a tad frustrated. "Damn I thought for sure dat would woik.” the girl would think to herself. She saw the woman would carry her bags with her and head up the stairs which would prompt yet another idea.

"Do you offer rooms here sir?” the youth would ask with the posh accent of her disguise "If so I’d like to rent a room…” the woman would ask the man who seemed uncertain as to how to respond.

"My apologies Ma’m, but lodging is reserved for VIP guests only.” the girl would look to the man pulling out more money from her pockets. "Money is no object.” seeing this the man would nod his head and head towards the owner and whisper in their ear. Afterwards he would gesture for her to come along, allowing her to head up the stairs and would stop just before getting her to her room. And would make her way into her room, shutting the door behind her. "Thank you.” with that she would allow some time to pass by before heading out into the hallway and looking around feigning that she was a lost or playing tourist.

Another knock on the door would reveal another hostess. She seemed to be rather apologetic to disrupt Shiina for a second time but she wouldn't be too disturbed by it. "About that sake bottle from before, could you tell me something about the person who sent it?" Although she usually gave little care to those who brought her gifts, she was intrigued why someone who shouldn't know of even her presence here would bring her a bottle of sake. The girl at the door told her that it was a woman who had wanted to send her the sake, which peaking Shiina's interest. Was this person a Kumo nin? Did she want to lure her out to kill her? But then, if she already knew she was here, what was the point of the façade of gift giving? None of this seemed to be adding up in her mind as she dismissed the girl from her room yet again.

There was only one way to find out.

She called the hostess back into the room just as the girl was about to leave, asking her to wait a moment. The purple-haired neukenin went to a small table where there was parchment, a brush and ink. "Please take this to the person who presented me with the sake bottle." On the note she wrote a well-mannered letter, telling the person to meet her at the dining area a little after most of the other patrons would have finished dining. Especially since she wasn't sure who this person was, the woman had a few tricks up her sleeve. For now though, she was going to retire to the hot spring inside the room and take a nice warm bath before dinner would be served. A long day of traveling called for some relaxation after all.

A couple hours later, the woman would step out of the room, putting a veil of satin over her face that covered most of it other than her eyes. The veil had golden butterflies and was very delicate, a gift she received from one of her patrons. It was supposed to be for her to hide her beauty, as he called it, since it seemed to draw attention wherever she went. She never knew that the veil would come in handy. Dressed in the ryokan robes of dark blue cotton with a white obi, she walked to the dining hall, hoping the stranger wouldn't have arrived yet. She would ask the owner of the place to prepare a bottle of sake and six cups, lining them at the center of a very long table, before she sat down at one end of the long table to wait for the person to arrive.

This was going to be fun, she mused.

After searching around getting a feel for the area she was in, taking note of all the notable landmarks and halls within the room she’d make her way back towards her room and wait for a moment sitting and thinking on what her strategy would be next, she mulled things over for a moment until there was a knock at her door a woman with a small parchment that was addressed to her.

She was told to meet her at the dining hall in a few hours, as the time would pass the girl would keep up her disguise and make her way there taking in the surrounding area the letter had mentioned what she’d be wearing and when she spotted the veiled woman she would take her seat seeing six cups and a bottle of sake. "I can’t drink dis stuff.” she’d think to herself… ”I’ve seen wat dis stuff does to mom and dad, and I can't afford dat for myself.” as she took her seat she’d smile to the older woman. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance, what lovely robes you have.” the girl would say, lowering her eyes and giving her a soft smile, little did she know her types of charms wouldn’t work well here. Thankfully her experience as a performer might at least help her efforts at espionage work a bit better.

By now her chakra signature would most certainly betray her, but where could she go now without making a scene. "I’ve heard a good deal about you, but I never caught your name…Ran yes?” the girl would ask wanting to confirm her information that she had overheard and what she was given from her informant, so far things seemed to hold up well she could only wonder where they would go from there.

A beautiful brown-haired woman in a red dress met Shiina at the dining hall. To say that she was surprised was an understatement, having half-expected a man. But then again, secret admirers and fans didn't necessarily have to be male, but she largely performed for wealthy men, so it was rather surprising that the person had shown up to be a woman. The girl would look to the woman and would note that the manner in which she had spoken to her she didn’t say anything but was nervous she had mentioned that her words didn’t match how she spoke and also asked why she wasn’t drinking. "My apologies madame…I’m a bit nervous.” the girl didn’t have much of a choice at this point and looked towards the bottle of sake and attempted to pour it, pouring some out for her guest first and then herself trying to remember the etiquette that her mother had used when conducting business meetings with clients.

"Pour for da guests and den yaself.” after pouring the drinks as steadily as she could she’d raise her glass as a toast to the woman thinking these were the proper steps to take for the given situation. She would ask who she was, "You can call me Touka.” the woman would state giving her, her first name or at least a pseudonym.

"I represent a family who needed some assistance with a particular matter and was told that you have a rather remarkable set of skills.” the woman would add. "Skills I am willing to pay good money in order to take advantage of.” she had figured that the talk of funds would potentially pique the woman’s interest.

Taki has also increased the amount of weight she is able to lift by a massive margin in a way that makes her an even more fearsome taijutsu practitioner than before.

Shiina simply looked at the girl, pouring her a cup and then herself another. She bowed her head in response, a practice she had learned as a geisha. The woman took the third cup of sake in her hand, and before she would down the cup, the girl Touka would speak...of some business. So she was a person for hire? That seemed interesting, assuming that she was a wanderer who could just be for hire on a case-by-case situation. Her hand stopped mid-air, the meaning of Touka's words hit her. "A special set of skills? I have no skills that I can think of which could benefit you and this family you speak of. Unless you are referring to my geisha status, for which I would assume that this family is one who I have performed for before?"

Of course, she was continuing to keep the facade and feign ignorance, not knowing who this girl was. She put down her cup, watching her expression. "If not, I don't see why we are continuing this conversation." It wasn't that Shiina hated talking to girls, but there was something different about this one that made her uncomfortable. She still couldn't put a finger on it and that thought in and of itself was hard for her to stomach. The woman would rise from her chair, the alcohol she had consumed unable to phase her. "And another thing," she stopped in her tracks, looking at the girl, "You should learn how to drink, it's a fundamental social skill that would only benefit you in the long run."

But after 3 days of searching by this point the girl would have gotten a little impatient with her game of cat and mouse and was now prepared to play her trump card. "There’s no reason to lie to me.” the girl would say, speaking rather candidly on the situation. "You see, I have an associate who happened to tell me that you were a rather proficient fighter, does the name Muramasa ring a bell?” the girl would say leaning in towards her hoping that the name might jog her memory.

"He mentioned your skills in regards to an assassination that he had performed some time ago.” the girl would look to the woman when she had asked her to learn how to drink. "And if his information is as good as I believe it to be, then I’d like to have one of my other confidants test your skills and I’m willing to pay handsomely to see that happen.” The woman would state attempting to see if she could sway her over to her side with money surely more than one might be paid for a simple Geisha gig.

"Here you can write to her at this address, she’ll be the one who will assess your skills.” the address was to a PO Box just outside of Tsuchi no Kuni, she'd also break the seal on her right arm which would prompt the feeling of something rather hefty along the ground.
